Tumors have nowhere to hide Patients now have somewhere to turn

The future of cancer treatment is here. And it’s only available at WellStar. WellStar is the only health system in metro Atlanta to offer TomoTherapy® and CyberKnife® for the treatment of both cancerous and non-cancerous tumors.

TomoTherapy Unlike conventional systems, which allow radiation to be delivered from only a few directions, TomoTherapy rotates in 360 degrees, meaning that treatments can be delivered continuously to the tumor from every angle. More beam directions give physicians more control in how they plan treatments – and more assurance that the dose will be confined to the tumor.

CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System The CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System involves no cutting, and for many, can offer a non-invasive alternative to surgery for the treatment of tumors. The system is composed of a radiation delivery device, which is mounted on a flexible robotic arm which enables CyberKnife to deliver radiation to tumors anywhere in the body. Its exceptional tracking ability eliminates the need for patients to have stabilizing head frames or limited breathing during treatment.

For more information, call 770-793-7550 or visit wellstar.org/cancercare.

BUSINESS After Hours

NAME Neil Jenkins COMPANY Irish Bred Pub and Restaurant YEARS IN BUSINESS? 7 Years

WHERE WERE YOU BORN? Oxford England and I lived in Japan for 15 years AT WHAT AGE AND WHY DID YOU COME TO THE US? 37 and moved to the US to marry my bride who I met working in Japan YOUR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND? Nottingham University with a Bachelors in Business Management FAMILY? CHILDREN? Married to my wife Cynthia for 9 years and we have a daughter Ella who is 4.

DESCRIBE THE CULTURE OF YOUR HOMELAND. It’s very hard to explain to be honest, you have to be British to truly understand it and even then many Brits would have to think carefully to answer this question. I think this comes from being an island....perhaps another reason why I enjoyed living in Japan so much since there are so many similarities between the two countries. I was raised to believe our culture is all about fair play and self-respect. We are good winners and good losers. Our culture is all about not complaining when the going gets tough, about making the best of it regardless. Plus we take great joy in mocking

HOW MANY LANGUAGES DO YOU SPEAK? Two fluently - English and Japanese WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO MOVE TO DOUGLAS COUNTY? I was looking for a location to open a Pub in a historic downtown area. It is hard to find a building that just grabs you, so when I saw the building which is now the Pub, I knew that it was the ideal location to build a business. WHAT IS THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DOING BUSINESS IN THE US AND IN YOUR HOME? The biggest difference is that this is considered the land of opportunity, and it is totally true. In the US, if you want to do something and no matter who you talk to, people are always willing to offer a solution to anything. There is always a second option. In Japan or England, it was always a flat no. People are more supportive and believe in others than in either Japan or England. WHAT ONE THING WOULD YOU SHARE WITH OUR MEMBERS TO DEBUNK A MYTH ABOUT YOUR CULTURE? Britain is not a country. While “Britain” or “Great Britain” does refer to the general area, neither of them refers to a country. Britain is a general term for Wales, Scotland and England collectively, while the British Isles also includes Ireland
