Anannualshow is set to go online for asecond year.

The schedule for the Virtual Eccleshall Show is now out and can be found on the show website. Following the cancellation of the 2021 Show due to the pandemic, once again the organising team put their thinking caps on and came up with arange of classes that can be entered online.

Aspokesman for the show said: “There are 68 classesintotal and for the first time there is aCat show with seven different classes to enter. “In the Craft and Horticulture section there are classes for vegetables, flowers, cookery, handicrafts and photography. Parents can find lots to keep the children busy during the summer holidays witha whole range of competitions including art, poetry, crafts and baking. “The Companion Dog Show will feature eight classes with some requiring video footage as well as still shots, while the Equestrian classeswill feature fancy dress and a“GoldenOldie” fancy dress picture from bygone years at the show. “Other classes invite entries featuring the fun side of owning ahorse. Poultry keepers can enterany of four classeswith photos of their fowl and there are also three classes foreggs. “There are three classes in theClassic Transport Show –for aclassic car, aclassic commercial and aclassic tractor.”

All the classes are free to enter and there willbeprize cards for first, second and third prize winners.

The spokesman added: “The 2022 show takes place on September 3atSugnall Parks. This will be the 75th show in its history so the organisers will be pulling out all the stops to make it areally extra special event.”

Eccleshall Show Society was founded in 1947 with the aim of providing asocial event for the local community, and with the exception of 1960 has been held every year since then. The show has expanded significantly in recent years but it remains avery traditional rural event run by volunteers.

The generosity of local sponsors helps to defray the considerable costs of staging such ashow. Anyprofits aredonated to local charities. In 2018 the Show Society was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service.
