Background
Research
As a famous agricultural region in Taiwan, Yilan provides a variety of crops for Taiwanese families. Recent years, the Yilan government encourages local farmers to switch into organic farming. Therefore, plenty of farmers have started to grow different kinds of organic crops.
Without using any pesticide and artificial fertilizer, farmers need to remove the weeds and insects constantly by their own hands. Organic farming could be a heavy burden for farmers, so just few farmers were willing to engage in organic farming.
Interview
Analysis
We visited Xing-Jian organic villiage and saw how they had applied organic farming. By interviewing with two local farmers, we were able to understand the meanings of organic farming and difficulties they were encountering.
After visiting Xing-Jian organic villiage, we observed one foundamenal problem: the organic food market in Taiwan was still small. Thus, the market was not able to support the sustainable development and expansion of Taiwanese organic farming.
Ark of Seed April 2014 - May 2014 Ark of Seed is a mobile exhibition on the trucks. It aims to spread the knowledge about sustainable agriculture to the publics and make them more like to choose organic products. Eventually, more and more farmers will implement environmental friendly farming. Group Members: Chou, Ting-Yang / Lin, Wei-Teng / Chen, I-Ning / Chang, Fang-Shuan / Huang, Tse-Chia Personal Contribution: Concept Brainstorming, Main Image, Video Production

Conventional Farming Display
Organic Farming Display
Films will be played in Conventional Farming Display section and the audiences will explore the consequence of using pesticides in farming through senses of seeing, hearing and smelling from the perspective of a corp.

At the beginning of the film, the scenery of a vibrant farmland with insects and weeds would be shown. As long as the farmer starts to use pesticides and herbicides, insects and weeds are terminated from the farmland. Infertile land for any kind of crop is the consequence of using pesticides.
A farmland without any cultivation. Instead of using chemical pesticides, farmers pull off weeds by hands. Organic farming becomes a substitution method. The farmland gradually becomes prosperous. The pleasant music from various kinds of insects and birds chirping can be heard.

Interview
Problem Study
I visited Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Center to interview with the supervisor of nutrition division, Wang, Li-Ming in order to understand the diet needs of patients and the process of preparing patients’ meals.
When the patients are in the hospitals, the central kitchen will prepare the food for them. However, after the chemical therapies, the patients have to take rest at home for at least 1 to 3 months. In this period of time, they or their family members have to prepare the food by themselves which is a heavy burden.
Hospital Room
When preparing the food for cancer patients, the portion of the food have to be weighed first. And then heat the food up to 100°C. The last step is to smash up the food into liquid mixture.

This project was inspired from corrugated iron, which is a common building material in Taiwan. After folding this thin iron plate in a specific way, the supporting strength will raise up dramatically, making it strong enough to be a building material.
The radian on the chair surface makes the chair more comfortable. And the magnets on two sides of each chair unit make the chairs able to be connected and extended unlimitedly.
I developed different types of folding structures, trying to find the best one for a chair. It had to be equipped with strong structure as well as comfortable surface.
(2D folding lines for the chair)
Folding Power September 2012 - April 2013 Folding power is a chair made of plastic plate (PP). I tried to creat a new way of folding which make the thin plate stronger enough to support the human weight.
