Virgil’s Real BBQ Open at Tioga Downs

The Gugino Law Office

Virgil’s Real BBQ, which opened last month at Tioga Downs in Nichols, brings southern-style cuisine, live music, and late night fun to Tioga Downs. The New York City-based restaurant brings a new level of authentic southern cooking to the region. Virgil’s will offer an extensive dinner menu of southern BBQ creations Wednesday through Sunday from 4:00 to 9:00 pm before transforming into a nightclub after-hours (on Friday and Saturday nights only). Local country music bands will be among those providing live musical entertainment. “We are so pleased to add first class southern-style dining and entertainment to the ‘can’t miss’ Tioga Downs experience,” said owner Jeff Gural. “Between the food and the friendly atmosphere, we are sure guests will come back to Virgil’s again and again.” With a specially-trained culinary team at the helm, Virgil’s brings fingerlicking comfort food to the north. The menu features a variety of fresh salads

and scratch-made sides, such as cheddar cheese grits and collard greens with ham hock, plus main courses like traditional southern favorite Memphis style pork spare ribs, Carolina pulled pork and Texas beef brisket. A variety of starters, sandwiches and beverages, including Virgil’s own fresh squeezed lemonade, are also available. The original Virgil’s opened in 1994, and Tioga Downs makes only the third location for the restaurant. For more information on Virgil’s, log on to www.virgilsbbq.com. CCNN Receives Funding The Binghamton University Student Philanthropy Program recently awarded $3,207 to the Community Care Network of Nichols (CCNN). This program is a way for students to give to charitable organizations, and learn the impact that these organizations play in the community. CCNN’s mission is to help the elderly, chronically ill, and disabled to bridge the gaps between needed ser-

vices. CCNN was honored to be selected out of so many great organizations. This funding will help serve those in need, and make a difference where it counts the most. CNNN “cannot say thank you enough to the Binghamton University Philanthropy Student Program for giving CCNN the opportunity to continue to support our community.”
