As Yale Athletics commemorated 100 years of the Yale Bowl the football team posted its best season in recent years. Finishing 8-2 overall, 5-2 in the Ivy League, the season fittingly came down to The [final] Game for a share of the Ivy Title. While the end result wasn’t in the Bulldogs favor, their position in the league and strong season show great progress. Many would agree this is thanks in large part to the work of senior running back Tyler Varga who scored a school-record 26 total touchdowns and averaged 6.1 yards per carry and 142 yards per game. Varga was named first -team All-Ivy and won the prestigious Bushnell Cup for the Ivy League Player of the Year. As part of the celebration of the historic home of Yale Football, members of the All-Era team were invited back to the final home game against Princeton and were honored at halftime.
