Think pink MANDY HE AND KANG KANG SHARED A MEMORABLE CEREMONY AND STUNNING R E C E P T I O N I N O T TAWA . Kang moved from China to Canada when he was 9 years old. Mandy made the same trip when she began university. Thinking they had nothing in common, they bonded on a bunny hill during a snowboarding class and now love to snowboard together as a couple. Mandy says the wedding was emotional. “We really enjoyed our wedding day and every second is a treasure to us. We had dreamed of it thousands of times, however, it’s still very emotional when you actually see the person you chose for the rest of your life standing in front of you, and you know this is the moment that you want to remember forever – same as the first time we met on the slopes.”

THE SPLURGE-WORTHY CHAMPAGNE That will make your next Event P-O-P-!
Whether you’re planning an engagement party, bridal shower or your upcoming wedding celebration, special moments like these deserve splurge-worthy champagne. Special moments call for toasting bubbly, such as picking your bridal party, booking your dream wedding venue, and, of course, saying “Yes" to the dress! You know you’ve found the perfect bottle of champagne when you’ve taken your first sip, the bubbles hit your palate and you experience its magic. This is the feeling you’ll get when you open a bottle of Taittinger Prestige Brut Rosé and taste it for the first, second and umpteenth time. These are the moments we call “L’Instant Taittinger”. We’re sure you’ve tasted lots of incredible rosé wines before, but have you ever tried Taittinger Prestige Brut Rosé? Produced by a family-owned winery in the iconic Champagne region of Reims, France, this rosé stands out for its intense shimmering pink hue. We’ll let you in on a little family secret, Taittinger Brut Prestige Rosé owes its elegance to a high proportion of Chardonnay (30%) and the voluptuous, shimmering colour is the result of a superb blend. This includes 15% of a still red wine, made from the best Pinor Noir in the Montagne de Reims, which is added at the final stage, giving this wine not only its brilliant pink colour, but also its vibrant intensity on the palate. When you’re sharing with friends and family on your special occasion, let us share some tasting notes, so you look like a pro. On the nose, this gorgeous rosé gives aromas of fresh red fruit (think freshly crushed strawberries, cherries and blackcurrants). On the palate, there is a subtle balance between creaminess and a full-bodied flavour. This rosé is definitely ideal for sharing and elevating those special moments (big or small) from ordinary to extraordinary. However, in our opinion, you don’t always have to wait for a special occasion to pop the bubbly! Taittinger Prestige Brut Rosé can be enjoyed with girlfriends at brunch, on a hot summer’s day during picnic season or in your backyard on a Tuesday evening after a long day at the office.
Champagne is the best way of saying “I love you” in any language. CLOVIS TA ITTINGER Available at the LCBO for $86.15 per bottle

TIP #5 WHAT ARE SOME OTHER IMPORTANT TOASTING TRADITIONS IN FRANCE? ◆ L ook at the person you are toasting with in the eyes.
While this is not as essential as the next rule, it is considered the polite way to toast. ◆ Do not add ice to your glass of wine. EVER. ◆ M ake sure that everyone has toasted before you drink. ◆ N EVER cross your glass with someone else’s. ◆ D o not put down your glass between the toast and the first sip. ◆ D o not forget anyone in the group.
ALTHOUGH THESE TRADITIONS MAY SEEM A LITTLE OUTRAGEOUS, THEY DID MAKE SENSE WHEN THEY ORIGINATED.
FIVE CHAMPAGNE TIPS TO MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A PRO TIP #1
What is the rule for ordering champagne for my wedding or event?
LASTLY, HERE IS A GREAT TIP ON HOW TO PROPERLY OPEN A BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE www.champagne.fr/en/tasting-andappreciation/art-of-serving-champagne/ opening-a-bottle-of-champagne
It needs to be a brand you are fond of as this will build memories for a lifetime. Taittinger Prestige Brut Rosé is one of those brands that will leave a lasting impression.
TIP #2
How many bottles should I order for my special event?
TIP #3
What is the best stemware for serving champagne?
TIP #4
When it comes to event planning, we recommend one bottle per four people.
Flutes definitely, as they will be the best choice as the coupe glass and white wine glasses are not as easily adapted. The iconic champagne flute is what most people reach for when it comes to enjoying bubbles, but it is important to choose flutes that are not narrow at the top so that they let the aromas get out.
What is the perfect champagne toast and what is the tradition behind the champagne toast in France? In France, we wish good health to the person we are drinking with, so instead of saying “cheers” we are wishing “good health” –“santé” or “à votre santé.” 11 TAITTINGER.COM | The Rosé Wedding Guide

MAKE YOUR BACHELORETTE A NIGHT TO REMEMBER Put on your dancin’ shoes; it’s time to party! If you want to have the best time at your bachelorette, here are a couple things to keep in mind: Be upfront with your wedding party about the kind of night you want to have. Maybe low-key is your style (wine tasting, painting night, a cooking class) or perhaps a crazy blowout is more your thing (bar, club, strippers). This night is about you, so your people need to accommodate. Also, communicate who should be and shouldn’t be on the guest list. You may only want certain people seeing your wild side! If you have your heart set on a destination bachelorette (Vegas, New York, Montreal) then let everyone know well in advance. People need time to save the cash and book time off work. Don’t be offended if people aren’t able to go or simply don’t want to go. Taking a trip just isn’t possible for some people. Accept their decision and move on to planning.

Get toasty For many people, the idea of giving a speech or toast at their wedding makes them want to run for the exit. Talk? In front of people? Hard pass.
If you’re one of these nervous nellies, don’t fret. Yes, eyes will be upon you as you give your thankyou speech, or toast your bridal party or honour your spouse, but that shouldn’t cause you concern.
TOAST, DON’T ROAST!
Here’s how to give the perfect toast.
KEEP IT SHORT AND TO THE POINT.
Slight jabs and small jokes at the expense of your family, friends or even partner are OK, as long as they are light and quick. Instead, be vulnerable with your feelings. A wedding is the best day to tell your loved ones how you really feel.
Simple sentiment is always a winner compared to long, drawn-out rambling. Toasts should be under two minutes, with a couple extra minutes for the newlyweds.
PRACTISE! Get in front of a mirror and deliver your speech or toast from beginning to end, several times. Once you’re comfortable, ask a trusted friend to listen and offer feedback. If possible, perhaps the evening of your rehearsal, practise your speech in the same location you’ll be giving it on the wedding day. This will get you used to your surroundings and the size of the room.
AVOID INSIDE JOKES. You might think they are funny, but your audience won’t get them and the sound of crickets can throw you off your speech game. Light humour is appreciated, but at a wedding, sincere emotion will go over much better.
TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND RELAX.
BE PREPARED. DON’T WING IT.
Take time to breathe. Be mindful of your alcohol intake. A drink can calm the nerves, but more than one and your speech can become sloppy. Have a glass of water close by and a tissues, too!
Sure, speeches are better when you don’t read them, but if you need notes, use notes! They will keep you focused and stop the word vomit. No one expects your words to flow flawlessly, so feel free to pause, gather your thoughts, take a breath and continue.
BE ENTHUSIASTIC AND OPTIMISTIC. Smile, be friendly and you’ll have the audience right there with you. Even nervous laughter can be endearing. Mumbling, not so much. Take your time and say each word slowly and clearly.
SPEAK FROM YOUR HEART.

WHERE TO
Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont. People often forget that Canada is home to some of the best wineries in the world. Niagara-on-the-Lake is also one of the only places on earth that is able to produce ice wine (due to the cold climate and frozen grapes). The area is filled with the cutest boutique hotels, bed and breakfasts, shops, restaurants and, of course, worldclass wineries. You’ll be close enough to Niagara Falls to take a day trip, but far enough to avoid the touristy chaos.
If you’re a wine connoisseur, or even if you just enjoy a glass from time to time, these wine-filled locations are perfect for a honeymoon or destination wedding.
Croatia This might not be the first place that comes to mind when you’re thinking about wine, but Hvar, Croatia has an ancient wine culture known for producing beautiful white wines. Tourism in Croatia grew with the popularity of Game of Thrones, so visit the GoT locations, take in the epic scenery and enjoy sipping your wine in one of the most beautiful countries you’ll ever see.
Napa Valley, CA Located north of San Francisco in California, The Napa Valley wine region is home to hundreds of wineries. You’ll have your choice of just about any kind of wine, but they are known for their Cabernet Sauvignon. Take a ride on the Napa Valley Wine Train, which covers nearly 70 km and stops at several wineries. The views in Napa are spectacular – the perfect setting for romance.
TIP: HOLD YOUR GLASS BY THE STEM OR THE BASE. This might seem like a snobby thing to worry about, but it’s actually practical. Wine temperature is a big deal to wine pros.

VENETO ACTUALLY MADE OVER ONE BILLION LITRES OF WINE IN 2021.
Bordeaux, France Is there another country that is more closely linked to love and romance? Visit the ultra-popular Bordeaux to sample what many believe to be the world’s greatest wines. Stay in a castle, explore museums, indulge in decadent food and visit the gardens. There is so much to do while you partake in glasses upon glasses of delicious wine.
Italy
It takes can take up to 800 grapes to make a single bottle of wine (750 mL). One vine produces around 10 (standard sized) bottles of wine. Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico Did you even realize there were wineries in Mexico? Valle de Guadalupe is home to dozens of wineries where you can sample wines and appetizers. Most allow walk-ins, but to be on the safe side, try to make reservations. Spend a couple nights in the area to see what it really has to offer. There are boutique hotels or Airbnbs available. When you don’t have a glass in your hand, go horseback riding, hiking or take a hot air balloon ride.
Everyone thinks of Italy when it comes to wine. Tuscany is the most popular, with rolling hills of grape vines and a reputation for producing delicious Chianti. Veneto is a region that produces Prosecco, Soave and Pinot Grigio; they actually made over one billion litres of wine in 2021. No matter where you choose to go, you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking scenery and old-world romance, so it’s the ideal place for a destination wedding or honeymoon.
WINE HAS AN INCREDIBLY HIGH RANGE OF ALCOHOL LEVELS, STARTING AT ABOUT 5% AND REACHING AS HIGH AS
