THE BRIEF
DESIGN RESPONSE
To create an identity for the photographer, Jenny Sneap. Her works leans toward fashion, live events, gig venues and performance, in her own words her work has an air of mystery to it.
The project had to include a range of promotional materials that could be easily reproduced by Jenny if she needed to. Deliverables included a mailout that housed her compliment slip, business card, cv and a print. The prints themselves are postcards that double up as a portfolio when in
context with the solander box, used for her end of year show. All products were black foil blocked to give a sense of subtley and intrigue that reflects Jenny’s work.
THE BRIEF
DESIGN RESPONSE
To create a range of gaming-oriented publications driven by independently sourced content and a focus on the aesthetics of gaming culture. It was a technical exercise in my type and layout skills for publication.
The magazine is a reader driven publication, with the exception of the first issue where the magazine’s concept is outlined by those who contributed. The magazine has a unque feature, Virtual Geographic, a section of the magazine dedicated to the photography of in game
worlds from the viewpoint of the player. You would be able to redeem a voucher in the magazine for a discount on the current issue’s lookbook which has all the images from the cover’s featured game. This brief was part of a submission for BA(Hons) Graphic Design in third year.

THE BRIEF
DESIGN RESPONSE
To create a publication based on virtual weapons found in video games. This was an exercise in iconography, vector illustration and colour categorization.
The Manual of Unconventional Weaponry is full of 142 weapons in total, ranging from retro consoles to next gen. They were then divided into categories according to their use; biological, blades, energy, explosives, firearms and improvised. Each category has its own colour palette and grading system.
THE BRIEF
DESIGN RESPONSE
To illustrate a range of covers for the Times’ monthly science supplement, Eureka. This project was driven by vector illustrations, data handling and layout.
Eureka is known for its info graphics, striking visuals and playful illustrations to explain complex stories and ideas to their audience. The overarching theme of Eureka is to give science a more active role in our society, which was the foundation of the brief’s concept. The areas of science
that were promoted are; neuroscience, genetics, animal psychology, astrophysics and nanotechnology. The special edition newspapers were produced to shock the everyday reader and create a dialogue with other readers, encouraging them to discuss the importance of science.
THE BRIEF
DESIGN RESPONSE
To create a range of deliverables to accompany the Elder Scrolls’ book of lore: 2920 - Last Year of the First Era.
The Elder Scrolls is rich with it’s own lore and history that is similar to the Roman Empire. The book is a chronicle of events that marked a paradigm shift in the franchise and brought about a new age. Content was derived from reliable sources and various paragraphs were added to make
the story clearer and more concise. The franchise itself has a large fanbase, which makes the brief desirable for collectors and popular amongst bloggers. This brief was part of a submission for BA(Hons) Graphic Design in third year.
PRODUCT RANGE The various deliverables were designed to support the content of the book and add exclusivity to the project as a whole. There is a treaty, an assassin’s writ of sealing and a map. All of the products were screen printed and foil blocked using traditional methods.
THE BRIEF
DESIGN RESPONSE
To produce a range of illustrations for the metal night, Bottom of the Bottle. The illsutrative type was the driving force behind the brief, being an exercise in my illustrative capabilities and composition.
The illustrations had to appeal to metalheads, punks and “moshers but not appear too aggressive or distasteful due to the context they would be exhibited in. The range was to cover the seasonal events occuring annually, using a limited colour pallette that maximised the overall impact
of the illustrations. The project allowed for a more conceptual use of type and application of image. Bottom of the Bottle poster designs were part of a submission for BA(Hons) Graphic Design in the third year.
THE BRIEF To create a set of posters for the papergirl exhibition in Leeds. The concept was to create two characters that could coexist and work as a set. The focus was the process: screenprinting, the colours themselves are process colours, Cyan and Magenta.
THE BRIEF To produce a tshirt design for Threadless, the theme was, “One Look and You’re Hooked!”
