I’ve just got back from Las Vegas where I attended a business seminar along with 3000 other likeminded people. This is my third time in Vegas however it’s the first time that I noticed to such an extent the different kinds of people that exist on this planet. There are those who, still dressed in their pyjamas, are feeding slot machines and playing blackjack at 8am in the morning, desperate for a little ‘not-muchchance-of’ LUCK to further fuel their gambling addiction. Then there are those, who like the 3000 other people attending the seminar, are taking their so-called ‘luck’ into their own hands, determined to create a future where they’re not reliant on the global economy for wealth and opportunities. This second group of people are creating their own economy, and refuse to buy into the conditioned belief that we have to work hard to earn a living, that when we leave school we should go and get a job, or countless other rubbish that the educational system, government, and some well-meaning parents tell us. So there I was sitting in a room full of the most helpful, giving and good-natured people I’ve ever met, which also contradicts the statement that wealthy people aren’t nice or friendly! In this room a good portion of the people were already making at least $50k a month, some up to $500k a month, and they were all delighted to share the secrets of their ‘success’ with as many people as possible. As I got talking to some of them, they shared how they regularly donate to charitable causes or visit third world countries to give from their hearts with no expectation of anything in return. Wow – how great what we can do for others when we’re overflowing with abundance! On day two of the seminar, the audience jumped to their feet and exploded in applause as Robert Kiyosaki, author of the multi-million bestseller Rich Dad, Poor Dad, graced the stage. For those who

There’s a plethora of opportunities out there, and I’m not here to encourage you into one or another. All you need to do is set the intention with clarity, ask the Universe to show you the way, notice what comes into your path, listen to your gut, and take the appropriate action!

Strange News Bristol croc A woman has taken one of the clearest pictures yet of an elusive 'crocodile' believed to be lurking in the River Avon. Tamara Blanco, 29, was enjoying a run along the riverbank near Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge when a dark, sinister, reptilian shape suddenly reared out of the water. Ms Blanco, who works as a shop assistant in the city, quickly took a picture of the 'beast' before it quietly slipped away. The Bristol Croc, as it has become known, has been spotted several times by members of the public in recent months. An initial sighting by a bus driver prompted Avon and Somerset Chief Constable Nick Gargan to tweet that police were conducting a search of the riverbank. Officers found nothing - but two days later, a local mother also claimed to have seen the croc.

Mighty mouse A mammal that looks like a mouse -- but has some of the characteristics of an elephant -has been found scampering around an African desert. Macroskeledies micas is a new species of elephant shrew with a long tail and small furry body, but also a long, trunk-like nose. Dr Galen Rathbun, of the California Academy of Sciences, told KPIX 5 News: "They're actually more closely related to elephants than they are to mice. Think about crossing a miniature antelope and an anteater." Dr Rathbun came across the animal while walking through the desert in Namibia. Dr Jack Dumbacher, curator of ornithology and mammalogy at the academy, said: "When we sequenced the DNA and looked at them a little more closely, we said, 'This thing is really different.'" The creature eats termites and insects like an anteater and is unusual in that it is monogamous. The species usually gives birth to twins or triplets, which are covered in fur and ready to run straightaway.

Healthy Wellbeing From curing smelly feet by wiping them with vodka to treating blisters with mouthwash, here are some quirky health tips which can improve your wellbeing Burger eating - Scoffing down a burger and chips during a flight rarely seems like a healthy option while sitting in the same position for several hours. But air passengers finally have an excuse to scoff themselves silly - because a carb-heavy fry-up could help conquer jet lag. Japanese scientists revealed this week that foods which kick-start a big release of insulin, such as carbohydrates, could be crucial to resetting our body clock when we get out of sync with our natural cycle. Feet vodka wipe - Sometimes having a shower is not an option when your feet stink. One remedy that gets rid of the stench without running water is to wipe them down with a vodka-soaked cloth. Vodka contains alcohol, which is antiseptic and drying, so it destroys odour-causing fungus and bacteria and dries out the moisture that lets these organisms grow. Pencil headache cure - As headache cures go, this is certainly one of the more unusual, but it does have a real medical basis. Place a pencil between your teeth, but don't bite. The explanation is that when you are stressed you instinctively clench your jaw and teeth. This strains the muscle that connects your jaw to your temples and can trigger a tension headache. By putting the pencil in place, you automatically relax your jaw muscle and prevent pain. Music for high blood pressure - Thirty minutes of the right tunes every day can help lower blood pressure, according to a team of Italian researchers. They found that people on a medication for hypertension further lowered their blood pressure after they listened to music while breathing slowly. Systolic readings decreased an average of 3.2 points in a week; a month later, readings were down 4.4 points. Mouthwash for blisters - Strong mouthwash like Listerine, which is also a powerful antiseptic also works on blisters. By dabbing mouthwash on a blister three times a day, it will dry out and eventually stop hurting. Olives or lemons for seasickness - Motion sickness causes you to produce excess saliva,

which can make you nauseated, some doctors say. Compounds in olives called tannins dry out your mouth and can help soothe the queasy sensation. If you happen to have a few olives to hand, it is always worth eating a few at the first sign of nausea. Sucking on a lemon can also do the trick. Dry sugar for hiccups - A teaspoon of sugar swallowed dry can stop hiccups in minutes. The sugar is believed to modify the nerve muscles that would otherwise tell the muscles in the diaphragm to contract spasmodically and contribute to hiccups. Peppermint chewing gum for road rage - In a NASA-funded study, scientists from Wheeling Jesuit University monitored the responses of 25 students during simulated driving scenarios. The volunteers reported that peppermint lowered their feelings of fatigue or anxiety by 20%. Peppermint and cinnamon each decreased frustration by 25%, increased alertness by 30%, and made the ride seem 30% shorter. Tennis ball for achy feet - For an easy, free mini massage that stretches and soothes the arches of your feet, slip off your shoes and roll each foot over a tennis ball, golf ball, or soup can for a minute or two. To cool throbbing feet, roll them over a bottle of frozen water. Vegetable oil for fragile fingernails - The main cause of britle fingernails is lack of moisture. As well as using hand lotion regularly, dermatologists also recommend using putting vegetable oil before going to bed. If you are feeling really committed apply vegetable oil to your hands, then put on vinyl gloves or wrap your hands in plastic wrap to keep the oil off your bedding. The hand coverings force the oil to penetrate your skin, preventing your hands and nails from getting too dry.

De Cotta Law The Spanish Economy and Tax Cuts By De Cotta Law This last year has seen an alarming rise in the number of young people leaving Spain to seek work abroad. The UK has been one of the most popular destinations with a 50% increase in the number of Spanish people registering for a National Insurance number in 2013. Traditionally the northern Europeans have come to Spain for the lifestyle and the sun and now the Spanish emigration north is for employment. The government have recently announced tax cuts aiming to revive the economy and reduce unemployment. Corporation tax is to be reduced in Spain with the first cut to 28% coming in 2015 and a further cut to 25% in 2016. Small and medium sized businesses known as PYMES dominate the Spanish economy and in 2013 the government reduced the tax rates for these companies. For PYMES there will also be new rules to allow some undistributed profits to be set off against future losses to maintain a lower tax rate under certain conditions. New and start-up businesses are now taxed at 15% on the first 300.000€ and at 20% thereafter during their first tax return year. An established business with a net income of less than 5 million euros and with less than 25 workers will pay 20% on the first 300.000€ and 25% thereafter. Personal tax is also set to be reduced particularly for those on lower incomes. Large families or those looking after elderly or disabled family members will also see substantial reductions in their taxes. The cuts are being brought in over a 2 year period and by 2016 taxpayers will be paying an average of 12.5% less in income tax. Those on lower incomes will benefit the most. Linea Directa Registering your vehicle in Spain. Spanish License Plates and Registration Document. Registering a non-Spanish vehicle in Spain is a complex and potentially costly procedure. However, you maybe exempt from Spanish registration tax by getting Spanish number plates within one month of entering the country. But to do this, you need to become a resident. Below we outline this process. stEP 1: OBtaiNiNg a CErtiFiCatE OF CONFOrMitY This is a statement by the car’s manufacturer that it conforms to EU regulations. The ITV (Vehicle Technical Inspection) must be tested at an authorised centre, just as for an MOT test. You can find out the location of your nearest ITV centre on DGT website (equivalent to the DVLA). You can also call your local centre to make a booking. If the centre is busy, especially pre-summer, this can save a lot of time. The cost can vary but generally is around 40€ for petrol-engine cars and 56€ for diesel-engine cars.

Missing Cat - Now Found :) The missing cat that was found 200 miles from home hiding out in a London hotel Obi Wan Catobi vanished from his owner's house in Leeds but turned up nine weeks later at an unfinished hotel near Euston train station. The beloved cat was missing for nine weeks and was eventually discovered living underneath the floorboards of a construction site in London - 200 miles away from his Leeds home. How the moggie, named Obi Wan Catobi after the Star Wars character, arrived in the capital is a mystery - but use of 'the force' has not yet been ruled out. He was found in an unfinished hotel near Euston train station last Thursday by construction workers. The RSPCA were called and laid down a humane trap with food to lure the cat out. Rescuers then got the shock of their lives when they checked Obi's microchip which revealed he had strayed all the way from Leeds after going missing in April when his owners moved house. Owner Adam Williams was delighted when he received a call to say Obi was found, the 32-year-old, from Horsforth,

said: “How he got himself down there I have no idea. Some people suggested a train, as the hotel was near Euston train station, but that would have meant him changing several times. “The only thing we can think of is that he got into a contractor’s van which went straight there. But this amazes us as he hates getting in cars or any kind of vehicles - he’s quite a nervous cat. “It might be the mystery we can never solve.” Writing on Facebook before Obi was reunited with Mr Williams, a spokesperson for the RSPCA Central and North East London branch who rescued the cat, said: "Obi the cat is being reunited with his family in Leeds today after we rescued him from a building site in Kings Cross last Saturday! "How he got there will always remain a mystery but we are so pleased for him and his loving owners!” This illustrates how vital it is to microchip your pets!

Heat Related Disorders Brought To Us By Clinica Europa So-called ‘heat syndromes’ are relatively common, especially in areas with high temperatures and high relative humidity, and even more so if one is unlucky enough to encounter a heatwave. Usually, a normal body temperature in humans is maintained despite physical activity and extreme environmental conditions, thanks to physiological compensatory mechanisms. Some of these include heat radiation from the body surface and evaporation of water through sweat. This process is also influenced by the ambient temperature, wind, solar radiation and body immersion as well as humidity in the air. The compensatory mechanisms can fail in certain individuals, such as young children, the elderly, people who suffer from alcoholism and those receiving certain types of medication, especially if they have certain pre-existing chronic diseases. These syndromes are not exclusive to these population groups, but may also be seen in perfectly healthy people who carry out certain physical activities. Several syndromes of varying severity are included within heat syndrome, from simple heat cramps to heatstroke. The symptoms range

from benign cramps, thirst and weakness to impaired judgement, agitation, collapse, seizures, coma and even multiple organ failure. The depletion of water and/or salt is a common cause, along with high temperatures. To prevent this from ruining family holidays, observe a few simple and sensible tips. Most of these are easily followed. *Increase fluid intake before exposure to sun. *make sure those who are more susceptible - such as the elderly and the very young -wear light clothing. *use fans and remain in a cool environment, *take cool baths/showers. *avoid strenuous exercise on very hot days. *use hats and other physical means to avoid direct sun exposure, especially to the head. *avoid being exposed during the hottest hours If someone is suspected to have any of these heat-related disorders, the thing to do is to move him or her to a cool area and lie them down. The loom band craze appears to be reaching new heights as eBay bids for a dress made out of the colourful bands sits at £153,900. The dress, which is made to fit girls aged between four and six, appears to have been weaved from hundreds of the rubber loops by hand. There have been 126 bids so far for the Welshmade garment and there are still more than four days left for the price to go up. The eBay listing, by user helenwright72, gives very little information about the creation of the dress, describing it simply as a “multi coloured dress made from loom bands”.

The 4th Axarquia tour follows La Ruta Mudéjar. We drive 75kms through 5 municipalities in search of Muslim architecture which developed from 12th to 16th centuries. Not really a pure style it was constructed for Christians by the Moors and native Andalusians who did not convert to Christianity but nevertheless remained in the area. The expression Mudejar Style was first used in 1859 by José Amador de los Ríos who was an acheologist and Andalusian historian. The starting point of this route is in the village of Arenas and to get there the easiest way is through Vélez-Málaga on the A117 which is 10km of winding country road full of almonds, olives and vines. If you happen to drive there on 12th October the village will be celebrating its Mule Fair so you probably won´t get much further and may as well enjoy the free paella and festivities. The Mudejar influence in Arenas can be seen in the 16th century parish church of Santa Catalina. Archez is the next stop on this route, it sits on the Sayalonga river valley and the foothills of the Tejeda and Almijara. From its arab past only one jewel remains, the minaret of the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación which stands 15 metres high and dates from the 15th century. It was declared a national historic artistic monument in 1979 by royal decree and is decorated with entwined diamond shapes with curved edges which are cut away above the brick. Driving inland and upwards to 579 metres our next stop is Salares, situated on the very edge of the Tejeda National Park and Game reserve. This white gem of a village is steeped in history and was inhabited by the Phoenicians, Greeks and Carthaginians. Once known as Salaria Bastitanorum by the Romans the urban design of this tiny

village has changed little since Muslim times. You can stretch your limbs here by using the free outdoor gymnasium equipment before climbing up to the Parish Church of Santa Ana, built in Mudejar style on the site of an ancient mosque. Continuing our climb up towards Mount Maroma, at 689 metres above sea level we discover Sedella, so named, according to the town hall website, because Queen Isabella when told of the fight between Christians and Muslims at an area known as Arroyo de la Matanza said, Sé de ella (I know about it). Onwards and upwards to the main square and the most unique building in town, the Casa del Torreón or Tower House, Mudejar in origin and the former home of the Mayor of Donceles, Lord of Sedella, it was built in the 16th century in the Mudejar style over a quadrangular floor plan. The tower has twin arches on Renaissance columns with a beam supported hip roof. Majestically sitting at highest point in the village up a flight of 12 steps is the church of San Andrés with its square two part tower and octagonal belfry, the only vestige of the original 16th century building. Before our final stop on the Mudejar route, just 8kms further on from Sedella you may like to take a refreshing dip in a cool spring as you pass through the Ragihes Nature Reserve with its waterfall and picnic area before visiting Canillas de Aceituno. Be sure to take a sip of this pure water and discover its healing powers! At the top of the final village of our tour is the 16th century Gothic - Mudejar style church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario and the only remains of Arabic origen left in the centre of town are the tower known as the Reina Mora and a well next to the Huertezuelo fountain. Our tour over the best way back is to continue on the same road until you pick up the C-355 to Vélez-Málaga but before wending your way down again do stop to take in the magnificent views of the mountains, lake and distant coast, a real photo opportunity.

Fill your time with reading positive books, listening to positive music or meditation tracks. 5. Journal! Rather than pour out your troubles to those around you, journal about what is troubling you. Often it isn’t anything major but when you lock it inside and go over it again and again it can feel like a mountain. Sharing with others, while sometimes can be good, often we then end up taking on someone else’s point of view and that doesn’t necessarily serve us. Instead, journal your feelings and let your intuition guide you to dealing with them.

Recipe Of The Month Bacon and Broccoli Salad This salad has the most amazing taste, and is perfect for a packed lunch or picnic. ingredients 12 rashers smoked streaky bacon 2 large broccoli florets 2 red onions, finely chopped ¾ cup raisins 150g/6oz mature Cheddar cheese, grated 6 Tbsp mayonnaise 3 Tbsp white wine vinegar 3 Tbsp sugar Method: 1. Cook the bacon until crispy, cool drain and crumble. 2. Cut off the broccoli stalks and discard. Cut the florets into small pieces, toss together the broccoli florets, cooked crispy bacon, raisins, onion and cheese. In a small bowl or screw topped jar, combine the dressing ingredients and mix well. 3. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss well. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. 4. This salad will keep for several days refrigerated in a tightly sealed container.

Profile Name: George Ivan Morrison OBE (also known as Van the Man and The Belfast Cowboy Born: 31 August 1945, Belfast, Northern Ireland Parents: George Morrison, a shipyard electrician, and Violet Stitt Morrison, a singer and tap dancer in her youth Marital status: Married and divorced Janet (Planet) Rigsbee; currently married to Irish socialite Michelle Rocca Children: daughter Shana Morrison, a singersongwriter, with his first wife; son Lee (born 2009 and now deceased) with Texan model and employee Gigi Lee; daughter Aibbe Rocca Morrison, born 2006, and son Fionn Ivan Patrick Morrison, born 2007, with Michelle Morrison began to be known as ‘Van’ in the early 1950s when he attended Elmgrove Primary School, Belfast. Morrison's father had what was at the time one of the largest record collections in Ulster, acquired while he was in Detroit, Michigan, in the early 1950s. Morrison attended Orangefield Boys Secondary School, leaving in July 1960 with no qualifications. After several short apprenticeship positions, he worked as window cleaner. At age 17, he toured Europe for the first time with the Irish showband, the International Monarchs, playing saxophone, guitar and harp, in addition to back-up duty on bass and drums. Upon returning to Belfast in November 1963, the group disbanded. After moving to New York in 1967, Morrisonfaced deportation due to visa problems. He was only able to stay in the US when his American girlfriend Janet (Planet) Rigsbee agreed to marry him. They divorced in 1973. Morrison’s solo career began with the release of the hit single ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ in 1967. It was captured on the 22nd take on the first day of recording. He began to suffer from acute stage fright at his concerts in the early 1970s, and after taking a break from music, performed at small venues in order to regain his confidence. Morrison moved back to Europe in the late 1970s. In July 2005, Morrison was named by Amazon as one of their top 25 all-time best-selling artistes and inducted into the Amazon.com Hall of Fame. Morrison has received six Grammy Awards, the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, the Ivor Novello Award for Lifetime Achievement and was inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

It is one of the most unusual ocean dwellers. Other species – such as bobtail squids, plankton, anglerfish, jellyfish and cookiecutter sharks – give off coloured light due to a chemical reaction in their bodies, but new research shows that the disco clam has its own individual style. This clam delivers a flashing effect like a disco ball or stroboscopic rope-lights, but unlike the other ‘light fantastics’of the sea, this mollusc is not actually bio-luminescent at all. The tissues there are red with a strip of white along the edge – the latter made up of tiny silica spheres. Silica occurs very rarely in living things, and mostly in plants. It also turns out to be a great medium for the disco light job!

The specie has some 40 eyes, though it's still unknown if the clams can even see their own light shows. In fact, the purpose of these shows itself remains a mystery. Suggestions include attracting matesand/or deterring predators. Brightly marked marine species are often toxic, and while the disco clam isn’t, its flashiness mimics the brightness that predators typically avoid. Another hypothesis is that the clam’s light lures prey—the spider plankton and doe plankton clams eat may be attracted to light.

These finely-tuned reflectors are actually made up of tiny spheres of silica about 340 nanometres across. They're ideally suited to the deeply-penetrating blue light that a clam might encounter deep underwater. The back of the disco clam’s lip is finely tuned as well, only it absorbs blue light instead, with the result being increased contrast between the two sides and, thus, a better light show. These amazing abilities were discovered using high speed video, transmission electron microscopy, spectrometry, x-ray spectroscopy and computer modeling, while ongoing research involves raising the clams in tanks. Part of the purpose of that is to determine if the flashing could perhaps be a method of interclam communication, as well as seeing what they do around predators. The proper name of the disco clam is Ctenoides ales and it is found mostly in the tropical Pacific Ocean. They have been found as deep as 50 metres (164 feet) below the ocean’s surface, and they like deep crevasses.

El Valle Drama Group At the El Valle Drama Group's first production of 2014 "Murder at Checkmate Manor" there was a raffle on both nights productions, and on each night was a prize of a flight in a hot air balloon from the Molina area. On the first night the lucky winner was Linda Harris, second night was Hazel Bain. The flights were very kindly donated by Graham Holtom of Holtams Kitchens and Bedrooms. Graham lives in England but when on holiday in Spain, has been kind enough to donate his time and balloon for these flights. The winners were picked up at 06:00 am and were in the air at just after 09:00am. The flight lasted 1hr 15min, all three passengers were highly delighted with the flight and had a great time. The landing was one of the best seen by Brian Turner, Graham's Crew Chief, and helping to retrieve was George Bain whose wife was one of the lucky winners. El Valle Drama Group's next production will be by very popular demand "ALADDIN". There will

Film iew ives Rev two L Stylish, gloomy, tautly constructed and extremely well acted, Georg Maas’ “Two Lives” never cuts quite as deeply as it intends, but it’s quite successful in locating a very human hook within the distant aftershocks of the Naziera Lebensborn program in Scandinavia. Opening with the fall of the Berlin Wall, the film centres on Katrine (Juliane Kohler), a young grandmother from an idyllic Norwegian town who, unlike most Norwegian grandmothers, is first seen sneaking into the former East Germany with a wig and an assumed name to scour the archives of old orphanages. International woman of mystery though Katrine may initially seem, her life is actually remarkably domestic, and she quickly returns to her home

with a gruffly affectionate submarine-captain husband (Sven Nordin) and a young law-student daughter (Julia Bache-Wiig). In fact, as far as her family knows, Katrine’s only brush with Cold War politics came decades ago. The daughter of a Norwegian woman and a German soldier, Katrine was taken to Germany in accordance with the Nazi policy of repatriating “racially desirable” wartime babies from Norway into the general German population. Consigned to an orphanage in East Germany after the war’s end, she later escaped to Scandinavia as a teenager and was reunited with her mother (Liv Ullmann). Once again the group played both nights to packed houses. The Play was cleverly directed by Steve Heugh. The cast hugely enjoyed themselves acting in this production, and this meant many hours rehearsing to ensure that all went wrong in the right places. The excellent stage set was once again designed and built by John Bezer. We’re sure you will all be delighted to know that the Drama group are already planning the next production which will be Aladdin on November 28th 29th and 30th. We would like to recruit additional people who are willing to take part, either on stage or assisting behind the scenes. Readings and casting will take place on the first Tuesday in September with rehearsals

Murphy won the first prize - a whole year's supply of gourmet spaghetti sauce. Mick was the winner of the second prize, six month's supply of extra-long gourmet spaghetti. And Paddy won the sixth prize - a toilet brush. When they met in the pub a week later, Paddy asked the others how they were enjoying their prizes. "Great," said Murphy. "I love spaghetti." "So do I," said Mick. "And how's the toilet brush, Paddy?" Frightened, the priest ran and got the town magistrate. When the magistrate arrived, he bent his ear to the grave, listened for a moment, and said, "Ah, yes, that's Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, being played backwards." He listened a while longer, and said, "There's the Eighth Symphony, and it's backwards, too. Most puzzling." So the magistrate kept listening; "There's the Seventh... the Sixth... the Fifth..." Jokes h a ha :) A gentleman walks into a bank in Mayfair and asks for the loan officer. He says he is going to the USA on business for two weeks and needs to borrow £5,000. The bank officer says the bank will need some kind of security for such a loan. So the gentleman hands over the keys to a new Rolls Royce parked on the street in front of the bank. Everything checks out, and the bank agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan. An employee drives the Rolls into the bank's underground garage and parks it there. Two weeks later, the gentleman returns, repays the £5,000 and the interest, which comes to £15.41. Not long ago and far away, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip... but there were problems everywhere.
