In case you haven’t heard, many people across the world have been reporting ‘strange noises’ in their local town or city. These noises range from a buzzing vibration type sound, which literally moves the ground beneath one’s feet, to a beautiful harmonic song, which seems like it should be floating from a very talented church choir. However, no one can seem to find the source of these increasingly acclaimed ‘noises’ and so people are speculating about what could be the cause. Since we’re now in 2012, the subject of much debate due to Mayan predictions that this year marks the dawn of a new age, it has been suggested that the baffling sound waves are down to UFO interaction in a bid to help humanity and planet earth survive these energetic changes. Others are speculating that the sounds are coming from God Himself, or at the very least from Heaven, in the lead up to the second coming of Christ, as indicated in the Bible, among other religious sources. Some are even saying that the sounds are due to governments, leading politicians, and the wealthiest people of the world building a secret underground city, so they survive while the socalled ‘poor’ peril when the Apocalypse hits. That way they’ll have total control over everything, which is just what they want. And then there are those who aren’t compelled to believe any of this, and despite the numbers involved, and the reams of video footage proving these peculiar noises, they’re putting it down to nothing more than a hoax.

I myself, along with many friends and acquaintances, have definitely picked up on an energetic shift since the beginning of the year. I’ve lost count of the amount of people who have been suffering from headaches and joint pains, or simply a feeling of intense lethargy. Our bodies are having to change and shift in order to

Strange News

successfully function in the midst of this new energy. Something else I’ve noticed is the number of people on the verge of a major breakthrough in their personal lives. And wants and desires are manifesting far faster than I ever thought possible.

Monkey business A Chinese farmer is claiming that a goat-riding monkey keeps sneaking onto his land to steal his vegetables. Ye Shu, of Donguan, Guangdong Province, says the animals are owned by a neighbouring circus. He claims the pair sneak into his field nearly every day, eat a lot of vegetables and damage many others. "This has been going on for two weeks since an acrobatic troupe was first stationed here," he complained. Ye says the clever monkey first stands on the goat's back to make sure the coast is clear before launching his raids. "If the monkey sees that nobody is working in the field, he rides in on the goat and they start eating and causing trouble." A circus spokesman admitted there was nobody to keep an eye on the animals after they had finished their part of the performance, but said they were now recruiting more animal keepers to prevent the pair from getting out of hand again.

Whatever the noises are, we can rest assured that something amazing and beautiful is happening here on earth right now. We’re moving into the fifth dimension, and from there anything and everything will be possible. It’s a time of love, peace, and many opportunities :) For those who are curious and would like to hear some of the noises mentioned in this editorial, visit: http://theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com/201 2/01/17/what-are-they-mysteriousunexplained-noises-now-being-reportedacross-the-globe/

Emergency services A list of unusual 999 calls has recently been released by South Central Ambulance Service, England, who logged 1235 hoax calls between January and October last year. Incidents include: ambulance staff being called by a man who wanted help getting his wedding ring off his finger - so he could throw it at his wife during a row. Paramedics also took 999 calls asking for lifts home because of a popped spot, help changing a light bulb and assistance finding a lost TV remote. One crew arrived at the home of a patient in his 60s, only to be asked to fetch a pack of cigarettes. Portsmouth-based paramedic Graham Collins, 53, said: "People don't have much self reliance - they think they can call 999 for whatever reason." The North West Ambulance Service also released details of some of its more ludicrous calls, including one from a man requesting help to unblock his toilet on Christmas Eve. Other non-emergencies included a call from a woman requesting assistance after a cotton bud got stuck in her ear, a man complaining of toothache and another moaning he had had an itchy eye.

Window Bars, The Fallacy Of Protection! Window bars are not real protection

recognised immediately.

Window bars are little more than ornate, although some are wonderful examples of the blacksmith‘s art. They easily give one a feeling of security. Since they are bolted into the wall, who would think it takes very little effort to break or cut them?

real outer shield protection you can rely on - Our early recognition system detects a burglary before the perpetrators actually break in, and even a minimal amount of vandalism damage is successfully prevented. You have a perfect outer shield that allows you to sleep well at night, even with windows open.

Vandalism knows no boundaries - Unfortunately, many home owners are finding this out the hard way. We at PERFECT ¡Alarm! S.L. are frequently called to wonderful homes, where expensive wrought iron grills and bars have been torn, bent and even cut from the walls, causing extensive damage to the brickwork. Vibration sensors, small and effective PERFECT ¡Alarm! S.L. recommends the use of vibration sensors to protect property and prevent vandalism. These small seismic sensors are attached to the bars, and are relatively inconspicuous. With the use of wireless connection, they are connected to the alarm system. A mild vibration is enough for the alarm system to recognise an attempted break-in. Wind and rain alone, however, will not trigger it but any attempt to remove the sensors is

Understanding quality - Here in Andalucia you can find many satisfied customers who have nipped burglary attempts in the bud with a quality system from PERFECT ¡Alarm! S.L. We provide the latest technology and equipment, which is fitted to each property and situation. We understand that no two homes or lifestyles are the same, so we provide quality security systems that fit your individual needs. knowledge and expertise - We specialise in the most modern safety technology such as digital video surveillance, alarm systems, freefield monitoring, fence monitoring and more. De Cotta Spanish Property Tax – Warning, the tax office is looking for you! Are you a non-resident of Spain with a property here? If so, then read on... Here, legal tax expert, Antonio Diaz of De Cotta Law explains the new tax and the law. In accordance to Spanish law on taxes for nonresidents, all non-residents that have a property in Spain have to pay income tax on the property known as “La Renta”. This tax applies to all property owned by non residents across all Spanish territories. One is considered a non-resident if they spend less than 183 days per year in Spain. However if you are not registered as a resident and declare your income tax here (which is obligatory if you live in Spain full time) then you will be considered to be a non fiscal resident and liable for this tax even if in actual fact you permanently reside in Spain. All non-residents have to pay the Property Income Tax as follows:

a) Income from Lettings at 24% of the gross rent received with no deductions allowable (up to end of 2011). b) Now, with the revision of the Tax Law 2/2011, from the 4th of March, non residents can offset many of the legitimate expenses against income; for instance, water & electricity, insurance, interest on mortgage, community and rates (IBI). c) Deemed income on property, when the property is used privately by the owners there is a deemed income assessed at 2% or 1.1% of the ratable value (Valor Catastral that is stated on the IBI receipt) depending on the municipality and the amount of time you have owned the property. This deemed income is taxed also at 24% and the amount due to be paid must be lodged with the tax authorities before the 31st December of the year subsequent to declaration. There is also another property tax known as Wealth Tax or ‘Patrimonio’ tax. So, now, in 2012 owners must declare their tax obligation relating to the year 2011. Generally speaking the wealth tax is calculated by applying 0.20% of the purchase price up to 167.129,45€, as declared on the Deed of Purchase. Over that amount, the calculation applied depends on the amount of the purchase price declared in accordance to the percentage scale of the Tax Office which is stated in the Spanish Wealth Tax Law. The Wealth Tax covers the full tax year and not just the period of ownership. Many residents and non residents of Spain have already received letters from the tax authorities confirming that if payment is not duly made, the authorities may initiate a grievance procedure for the unpaid tax together with a surcharge (between 5 and 20%) plus interest for late payment. Finally, if the taxpayer does not pay when required, owners could face seizure of their bank accounts in Spain or even the property, resulting in the auction sale of the property. Antonio Diaz is Partner at De Cotta Law, a law firm offering support with all aspects of Spanish Law for English speaking clients, with offices in Mijas-Costa, Coín, Nerja and Tenerife. 5) 'Let the passengers off the train FIRST!' (Pause ) 'Oh go on then, stuff yourselves in like sardines, see if I care - I'm going home....'

2) 'Your delay this evening is caused by the line controller suffering from E & B syndrome: not knowing his elbow from his backside. I'll let you know any further information as soon as I'm given any.' 3) 'We are now travelling through Baker Street ... As you can see, Baker Street is closed. It would have been nice if they had actually told me, so I could tell you earlier, but no, they don't think about things like that'. 4) 'Beggars are operating on this train. Foreign Ads Actual adverts from around the world Scandinavian vacuum manufacturer Electrolux used the following in an American campaign: Nothing sucks like an Electrolux. When Gerber started selling baby food in Africa, they used the same packaging as in the US, with the beautiful baby on the label. Later they learned that in Africa, companies routinely put pictures on the label of what's inside, since most people can't read English.

Frank Perdue's chicken slogan, "it takes a strong man to make a tender chicken" was translated into Spanish as "it takes an aroused man to make a chicken affectionate." When Parker Pen marketed a ball-point pen in Mexico, its ads were supposed to have read, "it won't leak in your pocket and embarrass you". Instead, the company thought that the word "embarazar" (to impregnate) meant to embarrass, so the ad read: "It won't leak in your pocket and make you pregnant"...

An American T-shirt maker in Miami printed shirts for the Spanish market which promoted the Pope's visit. Instead of "I saw the Pope" (el Papa), the shirts read "I saw the potato" (la papa).

Specials: Now is your chance to have your ears pierced and get an extra pair to take home, too.

In Italy, a campaign for Schweppes Tonic Water translated the name into "Schweppes Toilet Water."

Get rid of aunts: Zap does the job in 24 hours.

Pepsi's "Come alive with the Pepsi Generation" translated into "Pepsi brings your ancestors back from the grave," in Chinese.

Cupid, another symbol of Valentines Day, became associated with it because he was the son of Venus, the Roman god of love and beauty. Cupid often appears on Valentine cards holding a bow and arrows because he is believed to use magical arrows to inspire feelings of love. In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who their valentines would be. They would wear these names on their sleeves for one week. To wear your heart on your sleeve now means that it is easy for other people to know how you are feeling.

Medical Thermography...

...a valid tool for early breast disease detection.

With today’s availability of new ultra-sensitive, high resolution digital infrared cameras, a technology that has been developing over the past 20 years is creating renewed interest. Canadian researchers recently found that infrared imaging of breast cancers could detect minute temperature variations related to blood flow, and demonstrate abnormal patterns associated with

the progression of tumours. These images, or thermograms, of the breast were positive for 83 per cent of breast cancers, compared to 61 per cent for clinical breast examination alone and 84 per cent for mammography. Thermography, as a physiologic test, demonstrates heat patterns which are strongly indicative of breast abnormality. The test can detect subtle changes in breast temperature which indicate a variety of breast diseases and abnormalities, and once abnormal heat patterns are detected in the breast, follow-up procedures – including mammography – are necessary to rule out or properly diagnose cancer, together with a host of other breast diseases such as fibrocystic syndrome, Pagets disease, etc. By performing thermography years before conventional mammography, a selected patient population at risk can be monitored more carefully. Then, by accurately utilising mammography or ultrasound as soon as is possible to detect the actual lesion – once it has grown large enough and dense enough to be seen on mammographic film – this can increase the patient’s treatment options and ultimately improve the outcome. It is in this role that thermography provides its most practical benefit to the general public and the medical profession. It is certainly an adjunct to the appropriate usage of mammography and not a competitor. In fact, thermography has the ability to identify patients at the highest risk and actually increase the effective usage of mammographic imaging procedures. Until such time as a cure has been found for this terrible disease, progress must be made in the fields of early detection and risk evaluation, coupled with sound clinical decision-making. Thermography, with its non-radiation, non-contact and low-cost basis, has been clearly demonstrated to be a valuable and safe early risk marker of breast pathology, and an excellent case management tool for the ongoing monitoring and treatment of breast disease when used under carefully-controlled clinical protocols. http://www.meditherm.com/breast_thermography_news.htm Well Therm Medical Thermography and Nutritional Coaching. g n i z a Am cts s InseBeetle The weird world of beetles is one of the most fascinating, and yet much remains still to be discovered. While some are undoubtedly pests, other do a great deal of good in the environment. • Beetles can both hurt and help the environment. Some beetle species destroy crops or property, while others help get rid of rubbish, eat dead trees or help pollinate flowers. • With more than 300,000 different species, one out of every four animals on earth is a beetle. • Beetles are the largest order of insects in the world.

has decimated palm trees in Malaga and Almeria provinces, and is now evident all over mainland Spain and offshore islands. • 1,000 trees were lost because of palm beetles in the world-famous Elche palmeria alone. • One female palm beetle can produce 2,000 offspring in one year. • Some beetles are not considered pests. "Ladybirds" are beetles and are considered to be good luck in many cultures. • Ladybirds make a chemical that smells and tastes terrible so that birds and other predators won't eat them. Most beetles have a hard time righting themselves when turned upside down. But the click beetle (of the family Elateridae) has a special mechanism on the underside of its body that helps it spring into the air to right itself. The beetle makes a clicking sound when it does this, hence the name!

• The palm beetle – also known as palm weevil

Amazing Insects (Continued) • There are nearly 5,000 different kinds of ladybirds worldwide, and 400 which live in North America. • The firefly belongs to the beetle family, and there are more than 2,000 species of fireflies living in the tropical and temperate regions. • The heaviest insect in the world is the Goliath beetle from Africa. A big male can weigh up to 100 grams and measure more than 4 inches long. • Beetles cannot see very well, so using communicate they pheromones, sounds or vibrations. • The metallic-coloured wing covers of some beetles are used for jewellery. • Many beetles make squeaking noises by rubbing parts of the body together or by tapping on hard surfaces. They have better hearing than beetles that do not make sounds.

• Beetles create usable soil for vegetation by eating animal waste, rotten wood, and animal carcasses. • Beetles are found on land and in fresh water, and can adapt to almost any environment. They usually just live where they eat. • Varied carpet beetles get their name from the rainbow of colour on their backs. They mostly eat carpet, wool, dead insects, furs, hides, feathers, horns, hair, silk and bones. • Most beetles only live for a year. • Fireflies and lightning bugs glow in the dark to communicate. • Beetles account for one quarter of all known species of plants and animals. There are more kinds of beetles than all plants. • Dung beetles can carry things which are 50 times their own weight. This makes them one of the strongest insect species on the planet.

3 Roses A sexually active woman tells her plastic surgeon that she wanted her vaginal lips reduced in size because they were too loose and floppy. Out of embarrassment she insisted that the surgery be kept a secret and the surgeon agreed. Awakening from the anaesthesia after the surgery she found 3 roses carefully placed beside her on the bed. Outraged, she immediately calls in the doctor. 'I thought I asked you not to tell anyone about my operation!' The surgeon told her he had carried out her wish for confidentiality and that the first rose was from him: 'I felt sad because you went through this all by yourself.' 'The second rose is from my nurse. She assisted me in the surgery and empathised because she had had the same procedure done some time ago.' 'And what about the third rose?' she asked. 'That's from a man upstairs in the burns unit. He wanted to thank you for his new ears.'

Driving Tips How to achieve good vision while driving during a heavy downpour We are not sure why it is so effective; just try this method when it rains heavily. This method was told by a Police friend who had experienced and confirmed it. It is useful...even driving at night. Most of the motorists would turn on high or fastest speed of the wipers during heavy downpour, yet the visibility in front of the windshield is still bad. In the event you face such a situation, just put on your sunglasses (any model will do) and miracles! All of a sudden, your visibility in front of your windshield is perfectly clear, as if there is no rain. Make sure you always have a pair of sunglasses in your car. You are not only helping yourself to drive safely with good vision, but also might save your friend's life by giving him this idea.. Try it yourself and share it with your friends!!!! Amazingly, you still see the drops on the windshield, but not the sheet of rain falling.

You can see where the rain bounces off the road. It works to eliminate the "blindness" from passing cars. Or the "kickup" if you are following a car in the rain. Another good tip: A 36 year old female had an accident several weeks ago. It was raining, though not excessively when her car suddenly began to hydro-plane and literally flew through the air. She was not seriously injured but very stunned at the sudden occurrence! When she explained to the Police Officer what had happened, he told her something that every driver should know - Never drive in the rain with your cruise control on. She thought she was being cautious by setting the cruise control and maintaining a safe consistent speed in the rain...But the Police Officer told her that if the cruise control is on, your car will begin to hydroplane when the tyres lose contact with the road and your car will accelerate to a higher rate of speed making you take off like an aeroplane. She told the Officer that was exactly what had occurred.

True Story Manure... An interesting fact

a lantern, BOOM!

Manure: In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before the invention of commercial fertilisers, so large shipments of manure were quite common.

Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening. After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the instruction ' Stow high in transit' on them, which meant for the sailors to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane.

It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, not only did it become heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by product is methane gas of course.. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen.

Thus evolved the term 'S.H.I.T ' , (Stow High In Transit) which has come down through the centuries and is in use to this very day.

Methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with

British Newspapers A selection of newspaper clippings... A young girl who was blown out to sea on a set of inflatable teeth was rescued by a man on an inflatable lobster. A coast guard spokesmancommented, 'This sort of thing is all too common'. (The Times) Commenting on a complaint from a Mr. Arthur Purdey about a large gas bill, a spokesman for North West Gas said, 'We agree it was rather high for the time of year. It's possible Mr. Purdey has been charged for the gas used up during the explosion that destroyed his house.' (The Daily Telegraph) Police reveal that a woman arrested for shoplifting had a whole salami in her underwear. When asked why, she said it was because she was missing her Italian boyfriend. (The Manchester Evening News) Irish police are being handicapped in a search

for a stolen van, because they cannot issue a description. It's a Special Branch vehicle and they don't want the public to know what it looks like. (The guardian) At the height of the gale, the harbourmaster radioed a coast guard and asked him to estimate the wind speed. He replied he was sorry, but he didn't have a gauge. However, if it was any help, the wind had just blown his Land Rover off the cliff. (aberdeen Evening Express) Mrs. Irene Graham of Boscombe, delighted the audience with her reminiscence of the German prisoner of war who was sent each week to do her garden. He was repatriated at the end of 1945, she recalled - 'He'd always seemed a nice friendly chap, but when the crocuses came up in the middle of our lawn in February 1946, they spelt out 'Heil Hitler.'' Veggie Patch The New Year has seen us yield an abundance of yummy vegetables at our allotment in Mezquitilla. They all seem to have sprouted up at once and lately we seem to never return home from ‘the patch’ empty-handed. Like last year, the beetroots are delicious and succulent, although they haven’t grown as large as last year’s – although that might be a good thing as I couldn’t even fit one of them in my saucepan! This year we planted some different veggies, including celery and sugarsnap peas, both which are proving to be very tasty. We also planted carrots but they’ve grown in a rather odd way – they’re short and stumpy rather than long and thin, and we think that perhaps the soil is a little different than at our previous plot in Velez Malaga. There’s room for improvement on the tomato front too – they were a little watery for our liking and while we intended to plant cherry tomatoes, we ended up with a different kind! Now I’m off to water…

Chilches

Discover Chilches Chilches is a small village situated between Benajarafe and Rincon de la Victoria, about 12 kilometres from Malaga. There is a beach area, but the village itself is inland, just over the autovia and up in the hills. Its name comes from the Roman Cicer, because of the chickpea plantations in the area, and through a Muslim invasion, it later became known as Chilches. Chilches used to have two towers, but around 1492, after the conquest of Granada, they were divided between noblemen who fought in the battle. Amongst these were the Marquis Garci Fernández Manrique and the Count Manrique de Lara. During one of the battles in the area, the inland tower was destroyed, leaving just the coastal one which we can see today. During the 19th century, the Phylloxera plague wiped out the vineyards in the area. Up until then, Chilches had been a fishing village but after the devastation of the grapes, the economy was ruined and Chilches had to depend on the large village of Macharaviaya to support it.

Between 1821 and 1868, Chilches had its own town hall but on August 31st 1868 it became governed by Vélez-Málaga, which it still is today along with Almayate, Benajarafe, Caleta de Vélez, Lagos, Mezquitilla, Torre del Mar, Valle-Niza, Cajiz, Trapiche and Triana. The last mayor of Chilches was Gabriel Galvez Bustamante. The church of Immaculate Conception, built in the 17th century, sits proudly in the Plaza de Constitution, next to the Deputy Mayor´s Office (La Tenecia de Alcadia) and is worth a visit. It’s difficult to park there and the streets around it are quite narrow, so it’s probably best to park further away and take a stroll up through the village. Chilches Playa is a long stretch of beach with very little on it except a small lawned area with palm trees, and a life guard’s look-out tower. There are a couple of good sea food restaurants and a kiosko for ice-cream and drinks. Most days during summer, the beach is filled with Spaniards vacationing and sitting in the shade under their gazebo tents or multi-coloured sun parasols. It’s a lively scene and the smell of fresh fish cooking lures you in from the road. For the energetic, this stretch of beach is excellent for running on the sand, or just taking a stroll with the sea lapping at your ankles!

Famous for - Colombia has substantial oil reserves and is a major producer of gold, silver, emeralds, platinum and coal. infamous for - Columbia has also been ravaged by a decades-long violent conflict involving outlawed armed groups, drug cartels and gross violations of human rights. interesting Facts - After discovering the area the Spanish founded Santa Marta in 1525 and this was the first permanent settlement in the area. The name of Colombia comes from the famous explorer Christopher Columbus. The Colombian flag is unusual as the sections are not equal in size. The yellow is said to represent the gold in the Colombian land, the red to represent the blood spilled in the battlegrounds and the blue to represent the seas which border the shores.

Random Jokes The inventor of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Arthur Davidson, died and went to heaven. At the gates, St. Peter told Arthur. 'Since you've been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your reward is, you can hang out with anyone you want to in heaven.' Arthur thought about it for a minute and then said, 'I want to hang out with God.' St. Peter took Arthur to the Throne Room and introduced him to God. God recognised Arthur and commented, 'Okay, so you were the one who invented the HarleyDavidson motorcycle? Well, what's the big deal in inventing something that's pretty unstable, makes noise and pollution and can't run without a road?' Arthur was a bit embarrassed, 'Excuse me, but aren't you the inventor of woman?' God said, 'Ah, yes.' 'Well,' said Arthur , professional to professional, you have some major design flaws in your invention ! 1. There's too much inconsistency in the frontend suspension 2. It chatters constantly at high speeds

3. Most rear ends are too soft and wobble about too much 4. The intake is placed way too close to the exhaust 5. The maintenance costs are outrageous!!!! 'Hmmmmm, you may have some good points there,' replied God, 'Hold on.' God went to his Celestial supercomputer, typed in a few words and the computer printed out a slip of paper. 'Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed,' God said to Arthur, 'But according to these numbers, more men are riding my invention than yours'. ------------------------------------------------------------A government warning said that anyone travelling in icy conditions should take: Shovel, Blankets or sleeping bag, extra clothing including scarf, hat and gloves, 24 hours supply of food and drink, De-Icer, 5 Kgs of Rock Salt, torch or lantern with spare batteries, road flares and reflective triangles, tow rope, 5 gallon petrol jerrycan, First Aid Kit & jump leads. A troubled musician, singer/songwriter, George Michael rose to fame in the 1980s and now has a massive, worldwide following which transcends generations. His personal life has brought as many – if not more – headlines than his musical career. Profile Name: George Michael Birthday: 25th June 1963 age: 48 Sign: Cancer Birthplace: East Finchley, London Marital Status: In a relationship with celebrity hairstylist Fadi Fawaz Children: None Occupation: Musician, singer/songwriter Claim to fame: Forming the pop duo Wham! George Michael’s father, Kyriacos Panagiotou, was a Greek Cypriot restaurateur, who moved to England in the 1950s and changed his name to Jack Panos his mother, Lesley Angold, was an English dancer. His maternal grandmother was Jewish. George spent the majority of his childhood in North London, before moving to Radlett, Herts, where he attended Bushey Meads School and met Andrew Ridgeley. His involvement in the music business began with his working as a DJ, playing at clubs and local schools around Bushey, Stanmore and Watford. Together with Andrew Ridgeley, Andrew’s brother, Paul, Andrew Leaver and David Mortimer, George formed a ska band called The Executive.

He formed the pop duo Wham! in 1981 with his school friend, Andrew Ridgeley. Wham!’s first album, Fantastic, went straight to number one in the British charts and produced three top ten hits. George’s first solo single, "Careless Whisper", was released in 1984 when he was still in the duo and sold about six million copies worldwide. Wham! officially separated during the summer of 1986, after releasing a farewell single, "The Edge of Heaven" and a singles compilation, The Final, plus a sell-out concert at Wembley Stadium. His first single, released from the album “Faith” in 1987, was "I Want Your Sex," which was banned by many radio stations in the UK and the US, due to its sexually suggestive lyrics. Despite this, it reached No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and No. 3 in Britain. His 1987 debut solo album, Faith, sold more than 25 million copies worldwide, and he has since sold more than 100 million records in total. George did not openly confirm he was gay until 1998, after having been arrested for "engaging in a lewd act” in a public toilet in a park in Beverly Hills, California. In 2007, he said in a TV interview that he had kept his homosexuality secret for so long because of the effect such a statement would have on his mother. George has been convicted four times of drug offences, usually relating to cannabis. He served four weeks in prison in 2010 after an accident involving a car. He was named the most played artist on British radio between 1984–2004. In the 2011 Sunday Times ‘Rich List’ of music, George Michael retains his 25th position from the previous year with estimated assets of £90m.

LT Construction

Retaining walls are technically challenging with many different factors needing to be taken into account, such as, soil type, location, positioning, design, drainage, size and wall type. Two basic fundamentals remain for all forms of retaining wall, a good solid foundation and the provision of adequate drainage. The retaining wall’s foundation needs to be able to support its weight and provide structural strength. The drainage system needs to be sufficiently robust to allow for any water to freely flow away, as the increase in weight and pressure applied to walling can become immense after rain. The weakest part of any walling is usually the foundation. If this is undermined through defects in the construction process or compromised by a lack of free flowing drainage, the result will invariably be a collapsed wall.

The standard form of wall used when looking to retain a bank is a reinforced concrete wall due to the cost and durability. A plain wall can look very industrial and soulless but can be enhanced when dressed in stone or rendered and highlighted with additional features. I frequently receive phone calls from people who have spent substantial amounts of money on retaining walls that have subsequently fallen down. This is due to insufficient experience and lack of knowledge by Builders that were recommended to them. Any wall should last the lifetime of the property and unfortunately in my experience this is seldom the case, resulting in high financial and emotional costs. The other forms of retaining wall will be covered in future articles. By visiting our website you will be able to see the many varied types of wall we are experienced in to meet the aesthetic needs and budgetary costs of this most crucial structural element of your garden. LT Construction should be your first choice when deciding on which approach to take in designing a retaining wall. Please contact LT Construction to make sure you get this most important aspect of a garden designed and built well.

Meryl Streep portrays former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher in the biographical drama about not only the only woman to hold the post, but the person who held it the longest. Set in the present, from which staunchly conservative, fragile, eightysomething Thatcher, suffering from Alzheimer’s, looks back on her storied life, The Iron Lady uses flashbacks to depict Thatcher’s life from 1979 to 1990, and includes her battles with dementia and her con“OSTEOPATHY for the whole family” Clementine Duplan

OSTEOPaTh BSc (hons) Ost (Ukqualified)

"Gentle and specific treatment of the whole body,

Streep’s “impersonation” is remarkable, from her look to her posture to her gestures to her distinct vocal delivery. Jim Broadbent, as the ghost of Thatcher’s late husband, Denis, turns up at critical junctures to hear her out in her confusion and to participate in imagined conversations. Thatcher’s career highlights (or lowlights, depending on your political vantage point) are touched on, but political neutrality seems to be the objective. However, we exit having learned very little about Thatcher’s political career. The scattered film lacks the continuity and context that would allow us to feel illuminated. Instead, we find ourselves merely admiring a woman who succeeded substantially as a tough-minded politician in a man’s world. Star Rating: **/*****

Trailer Trash I want to be trailer trash because: They did not cause any of the problems that our country faces today. They did not get mortgages they couldn't afford. They did not run banks to the ground with greed. They did not use investors for their personal benefit. They don't even belong to the unions that ask too much of their companies. I'm tired of paying mortgage bills, utility bills, property taxes. I want to live more simply, pack up the dogs and move into a motorhome. I don't mind being called 'trailer trash', but I wanted to get your opinion.

What do you think about my decision??!!

The Word Queen Creating Tension In Your Writing Let’s face it, without the odd slither of tension, life would be boring. It’s the same when it comes to writing. By creating tension in your writing and raising the emotional level of the text, the reader is forced to remain interested in the story. Creating tension in your writing involves constantly raising the stakes for your character, so he/she has to work hard to get what he/she wants. Tension hooks readers and ensures they continue to turn the pages. Authors use many tricks to invoke tension in their books. Here are a few methods that you might like to try: * Time Limit. If something has a time limit it signals automatic pressure. If your character has to reach his/her goal by a certain time, mental and emotional tension are a cert. * Dialogue. Conversations between characters can elevate the tension. For example, if your protagonist wants something from the other character but doesn’t want that character to know.

* Pacing. Well written fiction ebbs and flows to match the pacing of the story. Each time your character hits a crisis point, the pacing should speed up. Once the crisis has been solved, tell the story at a gentler pace. Not long after another crisis appears, greater even than the last. The ebbs shorten as the plot quickens, finally reaching a climax. Your reader will anticipate these peaks in the tension, and as a result won’t be able to put your book down. * Sentence structure. Short sentences with active verbs signal tension. On the other hand, long, meandering sentences filled with adjectives and adverbs indicate a relaxed pace. Different genres require different kinds of tension. Tension is generally much greater in young adult novels, but in one form or another, tension must be present in all books in order for them to sell. Love & Light - The Word Queen

Old Age Written by Regina Brett aged 90. "To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most requested column I've ever written. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column:1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good. 2. When in doubt, just take the next small step. 3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Change the way you think. 4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and family will. Stay in touch. 5. Pay off your credit cards every month. 6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree. 7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone. 8. Release your children when they become adults, it's their life now. 9. Save for retirement starting with your first pay cheque. 10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile. 11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present. 12. It's OK to let your children see you cry. 13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about. 14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it. 15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. 16. Take a deep breath it calms the mind. 17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful. 18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger. 19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer. 21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special. 22. Just because you believe you are right, doesn't mean you are. Keep an open mind. 23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple. 24. The most important sex organ is the brain. 25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you. 26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?' 27. Always choose life. 28. Forgive everyone everything. 29. What other people think of you is none of your business. 30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time. 31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change. 32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does. 33. Believe in miracles. 34. Your job is to love your children, not choose who they should love. 35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now. 36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young. 37. Your children get only one childhood. 38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved. 39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere. 40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back. 41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need. 42. The best is yet to come... 43.. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up. 44. Yield.. 45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift

Spirit Of The Elderly This letter was sent to the Kirkcaldy High School Principal's office after the school had sponsored a luncheon for pensioners. An elderly lady received a new radio at the lunch as a door raffle prize and was writing to say thank you.

The other day her radio fell off the nightstand and broke into a dozen pieces. It was awful and she was in tears. She asked if she could listen to mine, and I was overjoyed to have the chance to tell her to f*** off. Thank you for that wonderful opportunity.

Dear Kirkcaldy High School,

God bless you all.

God bless you for the beautiful radio I won at your recent Old Age Pensioners luncheon. I am 87 years old and live at the Raith home for Elderly Ladies. All of my family has passed away so I am all alone.... I want to thank you for the kindness you have shown to a forgotten old lady.

Yours sincerely,

My roommate is 95 and has always had her own radio; but, she would never let me listen to it. She said it belonged to her long dead husband, and understandably, wanted to keep it safe.

Love Quotes As it’s Valentines Day this month, we threw in some deep and meaningful Love Quotes to think about! If you love somebody, set them free. If they return, they were always yours. If they don’t, they never were. Friendship often ends in love; but love in friendship - never. You don’t love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her. Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, it’s what you are expected to give — which is everything. Love builds bridges where there are none. Love can sometimes be magic. But magic can sometimes…just be an illusion. The definition of a beautiful woman is one who

loves me. Love is like the sun coming out of the clouds and warming your soul. Life without love is like a tree without fruit. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world. A lawful kiss is never worth a stolen one. Age does not protect you from love, but love to some extent protects you from age. Love is being stupid together. Love is friendship set on fire. Only love let’s us see normal things in an extraordinary way. There’s always room for love; You just have to move a few things around.

Some Spanish children found him and asked for help as they felt he would die of starvation. A neighbor brought Ralph to one of our volunteers. No one in the village recognised Ralph and thought he had probably been left by someone on holiday. He was most likely born around January of 2011 and is a bodequero. He weighs about 6 kilos, measures 35cm in length and 38cm in height. Ralph is very friendly, affectionate and gets along well with other dogs. He would make a great companion to any family. Mind, Body & Spirit Forever young... a mind-body perspective on ageing Ageing is an issue which concerns all of us especially with the advance of years – and is a popular subject in both the media and the world of scientific research these days. Most of us probably take for granted that as we enter the 70-80 age bracket, our bodies will inevitably begin to weaken and deteriorate, and if we are fortunate enough to escape serious illness, we can still expect a gradual decline in our physical and mental capacities. Age-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s are apparently on the increase, and institutionalised care during the final years of life is becoming more and more the norm. Not surprisingly, then, ageing - and more specifically possible ways to combat it ̶ have stimulated a lot of interest and research. Back in the 1970s, travellers to a remote mountainous region of Georgia came across an isolated tribal community called the Hunza. What was remarkable about them was their life expectancy: ages of 120 years plus were quite common, whilst men were still fathering children well into their second century. This phenomenal longevity was attributed by investigators to a healthy diet, and specifically to species of wild apricot which formed a staple part of it. This was thought to contain natural compounds which arrested the “normal” ageing biochemistry. This sparked a popular craze in the UK and other western countries for eating Hunza apricots. However, apart from enjoying these extremely sweet and tasty dried fruit, I’m not sure how many people derived any significant extension of their life as a result.

Recent new evidence has emerged of a number of other regions where once again, the native inhabitants live considerably longer than the current norm. The island archipelago of Okinawa, in southern Japan, boasts the highest percentage of centenarians in the world, thought to be due to declining levels of a hormone (DHEA) produced by the islanders as they grow older. On Ikaria, a tiny Aegean island, one in three people live into their nineties, and in the Sardinian community of Ovodda, equal numbers of both men and women live into their hundreds. The scientific focus has been on possible genetic “causes” and researchers have identified a group of genes which they believe determine longevity. Not surprisingly, the hunt is on to develop drugs which will mimic the effects of these genes. However, what has been overlooked is the possible outcome of a subsequent cultural effect. All the ethno-graphic regions where extraordinary longevity is the norm are - or were until recently - isolated, nontechnological communities, largely cut off from the modern world. Not only did they retain a simple (and stress-free) life-style, they had a cultural tradition of long, healthy life. Their collective belief system, insulated from the present-day bombardment of information about cancer, auto-immune diseases, pandemics etc, has for countless generations passed on this “expectation of health and longevity” to its children. Before we join the rush to queue up for the latest (expensive) miracle anti-ageing drugs, perhaps we should pause and consider this! ) : a h a h s e k o J They met at the singles club meeting and discovered over time that they enjoyed each other's company. After several weeks of meeting for coffee, Claude asked Maude out for dinner and much to his delight, she accepted. They had a lovely evening. They dined at the most romantic restaurant in town. Despite his age, they ended at his place for an after-dinner drink. Things continued along a natural course and age being no inhibitor, Maude soon joined Claude for a most enjoyable roll in the hay. As they were basking in the glow of the magic moments they'd shared, each was lost for a time in their own thoughts..... Claude was thinking: 'If I'd known she was still a virgin, I'd have been gentler.' Maude was thinking: 'If I'd known he could still do it, I'd have taken my tights off.' ------------------------------------------------------------The wife asked me what I was doing on the computer last night. I told her I was looking for cheap flights. "I love you!" she said, and then she got all excited, she quickly undressed and we had the most amazing sex ever.... Which is odd because she's never shown an interest in darts before? ------------------------------------------------------------A mother was working in the kitchen, listening to her five-year-old son playing with his new electric train set in the living room. She heard the train stop and her son saying, 'All of you b******* who want off, get off now, 'cos we're in a hurry! And all of you b******* who are getting on, get on now, 'cos we're going down the tracks'. The horrified mother went in and told her son, 'We don't use that kind of language in this house. Now I want you to go to your room and stay there for TWO HOURS. When you come out, you may play with your train, but I want you to use nice language.' Two hours later, the son came out of the bedroom and resumed playing with his train. Soon the train stopped and the mother heard her son say, 'All passengers who are disembarking the

train, please remember to take all of your belongings with you. We thank you for travelling with us today and hope your trip was a pleasant one.' She hears the little boy continue, 'For those of you just boarding, we ask you to stow all of your hand luggage under your seat. Remember, there is no smoking on the train. We hope you will have a pleasant and relaxing journey with us today.' As the mother began to smile, the child added.......... 'For those of you who are pissed off about the TWO HOUR delay, please see the fat controller in the kitchen. ------------------------------------------------------------A farmer went out one day and bought a brand new stud rooster for his chicken coop. The new rooster struts over to the old rooster and says, 'OK old fart, time for you to retire.' The old rooster replies, 'Come on, surely you cannot handle ALL of these chickens. Look what it has done to me. Can't you just let me have the two old hens over in the corner?' The young rooster says, 'Beat it: You are washed up and I am taking over.' The old rooster says, 'I tell you what, young stud. I will race you around the farmhouse. Whoever wins gets the exclusive domain over the entire chicken coop.' The young rooster laughs. 'You know you don't stand a chance, old man. So, just to be fair, I will give you a head start'. The old rooster takes off running. About 15 seconds later the young rooster takes off running after him. They round the front porch of the farmhouse and the young rooster has closed the gap. He is only about 5 feet behind the old rooster and gaining fast the farmer, meanwhile, is sitting in his usual spot on the front porch when he sees the roosters running by. The Old Rooster is squalking and running as hard as he can. The Farmer grabs his shotgun and - BOOM - he blows the young rooster to bits. The farmer sadly shakes his head and says, 'Dammit.....third gay rooster I bought this month.'

Jokes h a h a :) Stevie Wonder is playing his 1st gig in China and the giant auditorium is packed to the roof with excited fans. In a bid to break the ice with the huge audience, he asks if anyone has a request. One chap jumps out of his seat in the 1st row and shouts at the top of his voice: "Play a jazz chord! Play a jazz chord!" Amazed that this guy knows about the jazz influences in Stevie's career, the blind impresario starts to play an E minor scale and then swings into a difficult jazz melody for about 10 minutes. When he finishes the whole place goes absolutely wild with excitement! But, the same chap jumps out of his seat again and shouts: "No, no, play a jazz chord; play a jazz chord!" A bit cheesed off by this, Stevie, being the professional he is, dives straight in to a jazz improvisation with his band around the B flat minor chord and really tears the place apart. The crowd goes completely ballistic with this impromptu show of Stevie’s musical expertise! But, still the little Chinese guy jumps up again and shouts "No, no. Play a jazz chord; play a jazz chord!" Stevie is getting really p****** off now that this chap doesn't seem to appreciate his playing ability and shouts to him from the stage: "Okay, smart arse, you get up here and do it!" The little bloke climbs onto the stage, grabs hold of the mike and starts to sing............ “A jazz chord to say, I ruv you......” ------------------------------------------------------------One day in the future, George Bush has a heart-attack and dies. He immediately goes to hell, where the devil is waiting for him. "I don't know what to do here," says the devil. "You are on my list, but I have no room for you. You definitely have to stay here, so I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I've got a couple of folks here who weren't quite as bad as you. I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place. I'll even let YOU decide who leaves." George thought that sounded pretty good, so the devil opened the door to the first room. In it was Ted Kennedy and a large pool of water. Ted kept diving in, and surfacing, emptyhanded. Over, and over, and over he dived in and surfaced with nothing. Such was his fate

in hell. "No," George said. "I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer, and I don't think I could do that all day long." The devil led him to the door of the next room. In it was Al Gore with a sledge-hammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing that hammer, time after time after time. "No, this is no good; I've got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day," commented George. The devil opened a third door. Through it, George saw Bill Clinton, lying on the bed, his arms tied over his head, and his legs restrained in a spread-eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best. George looked at this in shocked disbelief, and finally said, "Yeah man, I can handle this." The devil smiled and said... "OK, Monica, you're free to go." ------------------------------------------------------------We were dressed and ready to go out for the New Year's Eve Party. We turned on a night light, turned the answering machine on, covered our pet parakeet and put the cat in the backyard. We phoned the local cab company and requested a taxi. The taxi arrived and we opened the front door to leave the house. As we walked out the door, the cat we had put out in the yard scoots back into the house. We didn't want the cat shut in the house because she always tries to eat the bird so my wife went on out to the taxi, while I went back inside to get the cat. The cat runs upstairs, with me in hot pursuit. Waiting in the cab, my wife doesn't want the driver to know that the house will be empty for the night, so she explains to the taxi driver that I will be out soon, 'He's just going upstairs to say Goodbye to my mother.' I get into the cab. 'Sorry I took so long,' I said, as we drove away, 'that stupid bitch was hiding under the bed. I had to poke her arse with a coat hanger to get her to come out! She tried to take off, so I grabbed her by the neck. Then, I had to wrap her in a blanket to keep her from scratching me. But it worked! I hauled her fat arse downstairs and threw her out into the back yard! I just hope that she doesn’t s*** in the vegetable garden again!'
