Who would have thought this would ever happen in our lifetime? We are confined to our homes for 48 days and still, at the time of writing this, many adults are still eagerly counting. However it appears 2nd May is the first light towards the end of our tunnel when we will ALL be allowed to go out for some exercise — albeit with some more rules. Whilst writing this today at 2.25pm on Sunday 26th May, I have just returned from a walk, staying in line with the new rules and regulations — ie, taking my 11-year-old out for a walk whilst leaving my 15-year-old to stay at home until next week. However, on leaving my front door, I was shocked to see how few children were out in the streets. I walked for an hour and we only saw a handful of children — so why all the uproar about not letting children out, then when you can, no-one goes out? Answers on a postcard please! Whilst on lockdown I have been doing a few new things — things I have been meaning to do for ages but just never got round to doing them. Things like cleaning my windows, cleaning my rejas, cleaning through drawers that had become overfilled (in only a year, I might add!) Stuff like tidying out my wardrobe and bagging up clothes I had not worn in years; cleaning ‘behind’ furniture and not just ‘around’ it...in fact, I have been cleaning pretty much every day — which anyone who knows me will tell you this is not done very often! So I have decided that once we are out of all of this I am going to start a new business as I am now a pro at cleaning, and I am going to name it, ‘Cleaners Of Very Immense Dirt 19’ =

Strange News (COVID 19). So you can give me a call and speak with my daughter who actually loves cleaning — and in fact, is really the one who has performed all these duties off her own back whilst on lockdown; no child labour here! This month, whilst flicking through, you will that the majority of the adverts have a banner in yellow which goes across them to indicate clearly which businesses you can currently still use and which — unfortunately — you will have wait a bit longer for them to re-open. There are also some businesses that may be ‘physically’ closed but are still available to advise you and take orders via their phones or emails. All these banners have been placed to help make it easy for you to select companies which you might need to contact. You will notice that not all adverts have a banner on them — some due to lack of space — but if you are unsure, please call these businesses and they will soon tell you whether they are able to help you or not. Of course, things can change at any moment so if, for example, there is a PM announcement in the coming days/weeks that salons are allowed to re-open and you would like to visit one, please call the ones in this edition as it is quite possible that at some point during May, they may be allowed to re-open — likewise with all the other businesses. We hope that we can print editions again ‘muy pronto!’ as soon as we get back to a bit more of the new normality. As the majority of businesses are re-opened, we will be back on the streets soon! I hope to see you all again soon and if you enjoy reading this month’s magazine, please share with your friends and family … thank you all for your continuing support. Stay safe, everyone!

Novel source A medical fetish company says it has donated its entire stock of disposable scrubs to the NHS. MedFet UK did it after being contacted by procurement representatives struggling to find the right equipment amid the coronavirus pandemic. Writing about it on Twitter, the company said: ‘Today we donated our entire stock of disposable scrubs to an NHS hospital. They were desperate, so we sent them free of charge. ‘When we, a tiny company set up to serve a small section of the kink community, find ourselves being sought out as a last-resort supplier to our National Health Service in a time of crisis, we know something is seriously wrong.’ Scare tactics A police officer in India has taken a new approach to the coronavirus pandemic. Rajesh Babu donned a helmet made to look like the virus to frighten people when they saw him out on patrol. The country is on lockdown to limit the spread of coronavirus. Rajesh was pictured in Chennai, where he pulled over motorists and tried to make them aware of the importance of staying home. He told Asian News International: ‘We take all the steps but still people come out on the streets. Therefore, this corona helmet is one of the steps we are taking to ensure that people are aware of the seriousness of the situation. When I wear this, the children, especially, react strongly after seeing this and want to be taken home.’

Strange News (Continued) Greedy gorilla Hilarious pictures on the internet appear to show the animal kingdom is picking up on the craze for stockpiling. Miriam Haas was visiting Bristol Zoo when she caught the gorilla cradling a pile of vegetables in her arms, and refusing to share the food. The nurse said she couldn’t believe the resemblance to the stockpiling habits of thousands of Britons around the country, which led to empty supermarket shelves. Miriam, 58, was visiting the zoo on the last day it was open to the public before shutting down. She snapped the 15-year-old gorilla, called Kera, and shared the pictures to social media. She said: ‘Seeing Kera gathering as many vegetables as she could carry made me think about all the panic buying photos that have been all over social media. ‘I couldn’t believe it so had to take some pictures of her. My favourite is the one where she looks like she’s thinking “damn, caught in the act”.’

We’ll Meet Again A British couple in their 80s have swept the internet with their rendition of Vera Lynn’s classic wartime hit, We’ll Meet Again. Rex Taylor, 86, cares for his wife Selina, 83, who has Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, and they are self-isolating on Government advice. The couple, who have been married for 63 years, posted a video on Facebook of them singing for their friends and family, and it has since racked up over a million views. The video, filmed in their home in Ripley, Derbyshire, has struck a chord with the public, and the pair have been inundated with messages of support. ‘It was just a bit of fun really,’ said Rex. ‘We were sitting here and we thought it would be nice to let people know that although it’s not easy, we are coping OK. ‘We have an Alexa and we asked it to find something from Vera Lynn. We’ll Meet Again came up and we thought that was just perfect. ‘We will come out of this and we will be in a better place.’

Random Joke :) Hosp - Room 302 A woman caller: "Hello. Could you connect me to the person who gives information about patients. I'd like to find out if a patient is getting better, doing as expected, or getting worse." The voice on the other end said, "What is the patient's name and room number?" "Sarah Finkel, room 302." "I'll connect you with the nursing station." "3-A Nursing Station. How can I help You?" "I'd like to know the condition of Sarah Finkel in room 302." "Just a moment. Let me look at her records. Mrs. Finkel is doing very well. In fact, she's had two full meals, her blood pressure is fine. She is to be taken off the heart monitor in a couple of hours and, if she continues this improvement, Dr. Cohen is going to send her home Tuesday at noon." The woman said, "What a relief! Oh, that's fantastic... that's wonderful news!" The nurse said, "From your enthusiasm, I

take it you are a close family member or a very close friend!" "Neither! I'm Sarah Finkel in 302! Nobody here tells me s*** ------------------------------------------------------------There's a teacher in a small Texas town. She asks her class how many of them are Bush fans. Not really knowing what a Bush fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raise their hands but one boy, Johnny. He has decided to be different. Johnny says, "I'm not a Bush fan." The teacher says, "Why aren't you a Bush fan?" Johnny says, "I am a Kerry fan." The teacher asks why he's a Kerry fan. The boy says, "Well, my mum's a Kerry fan, and my dad's a Kerry fan, so I'm a Kerry fan!" The teacher is irritated by this, so she says, "What if your mum was a moron and your dad was an idiot, what would that make you?" Johnny says, "That would make me a Bush fan."

Top Tips I think nearly every house has had a lick of paint during this Lockdown, so here are some handy tips To stop paint dripping down your arm when painting the ceiling, push the paintbrush handle through a small paper plate or an old sponge. A rim of Vaseline or washing-up liquid keeps the line from straying when painting around frames.

corner to see how it looks in light and shade. Mark the position of picture hook pins with matchsticks which will pop easily through damp wallpaper. To catch paint drips from the paint tin, stand it on a paper plate or kitchen foil. Condition a new brush by soaking in linseed oil to give a protective coat. Clean the oil away with white spirit before you start.

To stop paint splashes on window glass, stick wet newspaper or clingfilm on the panes. Before painting, clean walls from the bottom upwards to avoid streaking. Add a little paraffin to the bucket of soap suds to help shift the dirt. Rinse from top to bottom. Old brushes, which have gone slightly hard will soften if the bristle is boiled in vinegar. Linea Directa IF YOU HAVE AN ACCIDENT We hope you never need to complete an accident report form, but should it be required, here are the steps to follow. Try to keep calm, never admit blame and collect as much information as possible. STEP 1. Using the accident report form, take down the name, address and mobile phone number of all the drivers involved in the accident along with their car make, model, registration, colour and insurance details. STEP 2. Request names, addresses and mobile phone numbers of any witnesses to the accident, and add them to the report form. STEP 3. Collect evidence noting the direction that the cars were travelling, the car’s condition and how many passengers. Write down the sequence of events by sketching out what happened. Take photos and video footage of the scene.

Then contact your insurance provider as soon as possible, even of you don’t plan to make a claim. If you would like some further advice on this matter, please call our English speaking customer service on 902 325 325.

STEP 4. It’s important that all parties involved sign the completed accident report form. Below is an example of how an accident report form should be completed.

Random Joke :) "Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose girl." The priest asks, "Is that you, little Joey Pagano?" "Yes, Father, it is." "And who was the girl you were with?" "I can't tell you, Father. I don't want to ruin her reputation." "Well, Joey, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or later so you may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti?" "I cannot say." "Was it Teresa Mazzarelli?" "I'll never tell." "Was it Cathy Piriano?" "My lips are sealed." "Was it Rosa DiAngelo, then?" "Please, Father! I cannot tell you." The priest sighs in frustration. "You're very tight lipped, and I admire that. But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot be an altar boy now for 4 months. Now you go and behave yourself." Joey walks back to his pew, and his friend Franco slides over and whispers, "What'd you get?" "Four months vacation and four good leads..."

Dementia Test A little test for you, whilst you are probably still at home with hundreds of hours of free time on your hands!  This test is best read to someone else. 1. What do you put in the toaster?  2. Say ‘silk’ five times. Now spell ‘silk’. What do cows drink? 3. If a red house is made of red bricks and a blue house is made from blue bricks and a pink house is made from pink bricks and a black house is made from black bricks, what is a green house made from?  4. It’s twenty years ago, and a plane is flying at 20,000 feet over Germany (If you will recall, Germany at the time was politically divided into West Germany and East Germany.) Anyway, during the flight, TWO

engines fail. The pilot, realising that the last remaining engine is also failing, decides on a crash landing procedure. Unfortunatley the engine fails before he can do so and the plane fatally crashes smack in the middle of ‘no man’s land’ between East Germany and West Germany. Where would your bury the survivors? East Germany, West Germany, or no man’s land? 5. Without using a calculator - You are driving a bus from London to Milford Haven in Wales. In London, 17 people get on the bus; In Reading, six people get off the bus and nine people get on, In Swindon, two people get off and four get on. In Swansea, three people get off and five people get on in Carmarthen, six people get off and three get on. You then arrive at Milford Haven. What was the name of the bus driver?  Answers on page 104

History Repeating Itself! History really does repeats itself. This poem was written in 1869, reprinted during the 1919 Pandemic It was written in 1869 by Kathleen O’Mara: And people stayed at home And read books And listened And they rested And did exercises And made art and played And learned new ways of being And stopped and listened More deeply Someone meditated, someone prayed Someone met their shadow And people began to think differently And people healed. And in the absence of people who Lived in ignorant ways Dangerous, meaningless and heartless, The earth also began to heal And when the danger ended and People found themselves They grieved for the dead And made new choices And dreamed of new visions And created new ways of living And completely healed the earth Just as they were healed. The photo was taken during the Spanish flu. Keep safe everyone!

De Cotta Law We want to take this opportunity to send all our clients and all those with property and businesses in Spain our good wishes. We are seeking to keep our telephone lines open and to respond to your concerns about any of your legal issues. Under the current regulations we are still able to provide a full and comprehensive legal service and our administrators can help you to find local help with your properties, whether you are resident in Spain or concerned that you cannot visit your second home. This can be by telephone to our Nerja office on (0034) 952 52 7014 between 09:30 hrs and 14:30 hrs. Here are some brief notes on legal matters that are particularly relevant in the current circumstances and where we can advise. Notarial Property signings. If you have entered into a private contract for purchase or sale of a property and have a date for completion fixed, there is a practical solution which is to agree an extension if necessary. We take the view that both parties don´t wish to cancel but clearly if you cannot travel, or the parties cannot attend a notary, a negotiation can take place to protect both parties. Some urgent notarial work is continuing, for example if one of the parties is elderly and there is a time period that cannot be changed. Court actions. The courts in Spain are currently only open for urgent matters such as child contact, criminal matters and domestic violence. If you have a civil case currently before the courts including Family cases, we cannot yet say how long it will be before the proceedings and hearings will start up again. Rentals and holiday rentals. You may own a property which you have been renting out for holidays or you could be renting a property long term. If you have been directly affected by the crisis and cannot pay your rent you may be able to apply for, or negotiate, a temporary postponement in payments. Equally, if you own rental property and have taken deposits you may need advice on whether these deposits can be held or if there is an obligation to return them. Inheritance and Wills. In Spain a will is normally executed before a Notary public. If, for reasons of urgency, you need to consider making a will in the current crisis a handwritten or holographic will can be executed. This is for exceptional cases and it

y le b b a l : vai email a i - Fr are ne & n e o W M pho m, p 14 0 tele 2.3 52 70 2 m ) 95 30a 0 9 . (0 0 3 4

is very important to get legal advice to ensure it will be valid to pass your property to your beneficiaries. You can also get advice on dealing with an inheritance and inherited property. Contracts. As well as entering contracts for property purchase as referred to above, there will be many situations where the circumstances have changed so drastically, both during and after the crisis, that a contract cannot be honoured. For example, if flight restrictions are still in place and you cannot comply with the terms of a booking or of supplying goods to a company, it may be necessary to rely on the legal principle of force majeure – that is where there is such a fundamental change in circumstances that one or both parties cannot comply. A lawyer can assist in negotiating with the aim of reaching a settlement without the need for court action. It is clear that none of us foresaw this pandemic and the repercussions and uncertainty that would follow. We are available by email and on the telephone. We wish you all good health and would be pleased to discuss your concerns and provide legal advice in Spain in your language. Nerja office: Telephone lines open 09:30 hrs to 14:30 hrs – (0034) 952 52 7014 Email: nerja@decottalaw.net or info@decottalaw.net.

Trying Times For All. Some Alot More Than Others We at Vetiver have been watching how many lives have been deeply affected by this health crisis and have been looking at ways to help people who are going through some very difficult times.

Thankfully we are in Spain and a little money goes a long way. For eg: a single meal is anywhere from 5-10€ delivered. A pizza is 6€ delivered and a family roasted chicken dinner with potatoes is 10€.

We see people far less fortunate than we are. Our Vetiver Spain business is something we enjoy and it keeps us and our minds busy but for the time being we have to remain closed.

What we would like to do is to circulate this amongst our Vetiver Spain clients, family, and friends a request for donations of any amount to support this program. If you wish to donate please contact us for bank transfer instructions or donate directly through our business PayPal account which is vetiverspain@gmail.com

Right now we are looking at others during this time who have serious financial issues. We have decided with the help of our family, friends, and clients to do something about it. We know that there are many elderly people and people who have lost their jobs in our village of Sayalonga so we thought we would start here at home. We are donating weekly to a local Sayalonga Restaurant, Casa Mari. They are presently the only restaurant that is open in the village who is providing delivery service of food. For safety reasons they are not open for in-house meals or pickup. If others open up we will support them also. We have asked Mari of Casa Mari’s and the Mayor of Sayalonga, Sagrario Fernández Ariza to identify families in need at this time.

We are preparing to open but only for delivery or shipping by mail. We have a list of people waiting, so order now & as soon as we are approved you will be the first in line for delivery or shipment

There is no donation too small. A little bit goes a long ways. Weekly we will receive a report from Cash Mari’s to send around to everyone who has donated to see together what we all have accomplished and who has been taken care of. If you would like to participate please send us an email and we will work with you. Contact information is below. Thanks in advance for your help. The humble olive — grown widely here in Spain but a favourite worldwide — is much more than just a free cocktail nibble. They are delicious, salty and fun to eat, and are also good for your health. The olive is high in antioxidants, which fight against the free radicals that cause age-related illnesses and contribute to strokes, cancer and heart attacks. Antioxidants are molecules which can safely interact with harmful free radicals, giving up some of their electrons to neutralise them. It is also low in calories — one olive only has about seven of them! This also means they have a ‘negative calorie load’, so you burn more calories digesting an olive that you gain eating one. Despite the common misperception, olives are not fattening. They contain mono-unsaturated fat (the same good fat you find in nuts and avocados) which increases good cholesterol. In research studies, when diets increase mono-unsaturated fat (without becoming too high in total fat), participants also experienced a decrease in their blood cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and LDL:HDL ratio. All of this lowers risk of heart disease. Olives also contain polyphenols, a natural chemical that reduce oxidative stress in the brain. By eating a daily serving of healthy olives, you can help improve your memory. Eating olives helps skin stay soft and healthy since they contain oleic acid. By eating a few olives before a meal, you can take the edge off your appetite too. This is because the monounsaturated fatty acids contained in healthy olives slow down the digestion process and stimulate the hormone cholecystokinin, which sends messages of fullness and satisfaction to the brain. The oil from olives contains oleocanthal, a substance with anti-inflammatory agents that can act as a natural Ibuprofen — in other words, a pain reliever.

The fact that olives are an antioxidant-rich food and have anti-inflammatory properties makes them a natural protection against cancer, because chronic oxidative stress and chronic inflammation can be key factors in the development of cancer. By providing us with rich supplies of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory nutrients, olives can help us avoid this dangerous combination of chronic oxidative stress and chronic inflammation. Olives are also a great source of vitamin E, which has the ability to neutralise free radicals in body fat. Especially when working with the stable monounsaturated fats found in olives, vitamin E can make cellular processes safer. If the DNA of a cell is damaged, it can mutate and become cancerous. Studies have shown that a diet supplemented with olives and olive oil leads to a lower risk of colon cancer — almost as low a risk as a diet rich in fish oil. They are full of dietary fibre too. Your microbiome and the probiotics within it love fibrous foods. A final tip: olives are salty, containing about 60 mg of sodium per olive. Through osmosis, you can reduce the saltiness of your olives by replacing a portion of brine with plain water. If you have high blood pressure or have been advised to reduce sodium intake, consume all salty food responsibly.

Time To Pay Income Taxes By Tax Residents - IRPF 2019 Tax Form 100 must be filed before 3Oth June 2020 Just a brief note to remind all Tax Residents in Spain that the filling period for submitting the Income Tax Return - Form 100 – for Tax Year 2019 has already started at the beginning of April and ends at the end of June. The coronavirus situation is not an excuse for not filling tax returns on time. All individuals who live in Spain more than 183 days / year are considered Tax Residents and must pay income taxes in Spain for worldwide incomes. If you spent more than 183 days in Spain during 2019, you are considered tax resident and must file the tax form 100. There are some limits for people who do not have the duty to file the tax form 100. 1) Individuals who have any kind of incomes no higher than 14,000 euros. 2) Individuals who have incomes from work no higher than 22,000 euros, when the payer makes retentions. Please note that individuals who have incomes from 14,000 euros to 22,000 euro do have the duty to file the tax form 100 when their incomes come from different sources,

from marital pensions by divorced spouse; or when the payer did not make any retention (i.e. pensions from a foreign country). We recommend all our expat clients who live permanently in Spain and are considered tax residents, to file the tax form 100 even in the case that their incomes (normally pensions) are not higher than 14,000 Euros. In these cases, the income tax to be paid will be 0 euros, but they take the advantage of informing the tax offices that they are tax residents in Spain. Otherwise, the tax office is not going to have any news on your tax residence status in Spain. Should you have doubt about your duty to file Spanish Income tax returns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to study your case and confirm your situation. And in case it is necessary, we are also happy to assist you to prepare and file the tax form 100. Our charges are 100 euros (21 % VAT included) for a couple. In case you wish our tax assistance, please contact us ASAP. Tel. 952 901 225 mail@marbellasolicitors.com Jose Manuel Montiel Head of Tax Department

Lockdown Teeth Care Few of us have experienced such disruption to our daily lives before. So how can we keep our teeth healthy during this time? Good oral hygiene habits With a lack of routine, it's easy to miss out on the basics. Brushing for 2 minutes twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste will help keep your gums healthy and your teeth more resistant to decay. An electric toothbrush will help you to be even more effective. With less time pressures now is the time to get into the habit of flossing or using interdental brushes if you don´t already do so. Keep control of the sugar I find myself reaching for sweet treats more during the confinement! Every time you eat sugar, bacteria produces acid which causes tooth decay. Your teeth can repair this to some extent but not if these 'sugar attacks' happen too frequently. Limit eating sweet foods to mealtimes. Snack on fresh fruit or vegetables or other, healthy savoury snacks and avoid sugar in tea or coffee. What if I have a dental emergency? Dentists are currently restricted to seeing pecific emergencies and providing simple treatment with strict hygiene guidelines. If you have a problem phone a practice, like ours, that is treating emergencies during the quarantine (a list is available on the Colegio de Dentistas de Málaga webpage). They can assess your problem and, if necessary, make an appointment to see you. Even if your problem doesn't meet the criteria for immediate treatment the dentist can give you advice & make arrangements to see you once the restrictions have been lifted. Future care If you have experienced any problems or haven't had a check-up in the last 6 months book one once restrictions are lifted to check that everything is ok and resolve any problems before they become too serious. Clinics will be able to place you on a call back list to advise you when restrictions are lifted and make you an appointment. Stay safe, keep healthy and together we will pull through this tough time. Article written by Dentadanes. See main advert on page 65 / Call: 952 52 9666

Health Watch Eat these foods, all beginning with the letter C, to stay healthy and fit Carrots - Chomping these long orange veggies helps to block cancer, lower blood cholesterol levels and prevent constipation. They are a super source of beta-carotene, with just one carrot providing all your body needs for its daily dose of vitamin A. But eat too many and you may turn orange, which is all very well if you want to star in the next Tango advertisement.

Cranberries - Cranberries are packed with vitamins C and A, iron and potassium. Drinking half a cup of cranberry juice a day can ward off urinary tract and bladder infestions. The tiny berries also help to prevent kidney stones. Cayenne Pepper - This spice improves the body’s circulation and helps the immune system to work more efficiently. It can help to either get rid of a cold or prevent it from worsening and turning into bronchitis. Use it

in cooking whenever you can, especially in dishes such as chilli-con-carne, curry or spicy pasta sauces. Coffee - Coffee is good for you so long as you don’t over do it. There are chemicals in coffee which help stop tooth decay and relieve asthma and hay fever.

s Now b e l C e en & y H e a d Th Anton British actor Anthony Head has had a long and varied career — his most recent role being in the acclaimed BBC TV series ‘The Split.’ He was born on February 20, 1954, in Camden, London, and grew up in Hampton, near Richmond upon Thames. He attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. He is the youngest son of Seafield Head (a documentary filmmaker) and Helen Shingler (an actress who appeared in the TV series Maigret in the 1960s). His brother is musical actor Murray Head, who originated the role of Judas on the original album of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. Anthony’s long-term partner — since 1982 — is former theatre administrator Sarah Fisher, whom he met when he was 28. They are parents to actresses Emily Head and Daisy Head. Besides acting, Head takes after his brother in being an accomplished singer, and they have appeared in many of the same productions — although never at the same time. In 1983, he was in a band named "Two Way," which released a 45 single with three songs. Head's other skills are horse riding, swimming, scuba diving, piano, guitar and stage fighting. He has starred in films and TV on both sides of the Atlantic — one of his most best-known roles was that of Giles in Buffy the Vampire

Slayer. In one musical episode, he sang “Once More With Feeling.” After this, he teamed up with artist George Sarah to create the album "Music for Elevators", which was released on February 5th 2002. He also appeared alongside actress Sharon Maughan in a series of popular "Nescafe Gold Blend" coffee adverts in the UK in the 1980s. Head had many theatre roles too, and once played "Dr Frank N Furter" in a London stage production of "The Rocky Horror Show". On August 1 2004, after the May 11 2004 incident in which nine people were killed and more than 40 were injured in an explosion at ICL Plastics in Glasgow, he was the headliner at a science fiction convention to raise money for the Grovepark Memorial Fund (for victims and their families). He was named #5 of the Top Ten Sexiest Men of the Buffy/Angel universe in a fan poll by the Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanzine (2004). A huge fan of Doctor Who (1963), Head auditioned for the role of the eighth Doctor in the TV movie, Doctor Who (1996). He later appeared as a villain in Doctor Who: School Reunion (2006) and Doctor Who: The Infinite Quest (2007). He divides his time between homes in Los Angeles and England. His house in Somerset, which he shares with Sarah, Daisy and Emily, was used for the filming of some episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Head appeared at the Savoy Theatre, London, as Captain Hook in Peter Pan and The Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance in rep from December 2003 to March 2004. He also starred as "Jeff Golding" in Simon Gray's play "Otherwise Engaged" in September 2005.

To advertise call 664 210 468 or email sales@thesentinella.com Psychic Simon Coronavirus sufferer Sinitta has claimed her ex Simon Cowell knew she was ill due to his ‘psychic powers.’ The 56-year-old star told The Mirror she felt like she’d ‘swallowed a packet of razor blades’ after contracting the virus. She added: ‘I caught the virus after doing a club gig. I was in bed for about a week. I didn’t tell Simon I was ill but it wasn’t long before he got in touch. ‘I didn’t call as I didn’t want him worried – I thought, “Well, there’s nothing he can do.”’ However, her close friend had a sixth sense about Sinitta’s health. ‘He told me, “We have this weird connection, I can just tell when something’s wrong,”’ she revealed. Sinitta had been performing at London gay bar The Eagle shortly before falling ill. ‘It was a good night but we were all hugging and kissing, all of us sweaty in a closed space,’ she continued. ‘There was no social distancing at that point. Next morning I couldn’t breathe.’ Sinitta was previously seen in London’s Soho back in February wearing a face mask. Rage at Ramsay Gordon Ramsay was blasted by a furious Cornwall resident amid the current lockdown. The celebrity chef recently came under fire for moving his family from London to their holiday home after the lockdown had started. Over Easter, he was spotted making his way out of a shop when an unimpressed local ‘lashed out at him’. According to reports, the man in question was unhappy with the 53-year-old and the way he had parked his Land Rover in front of the store. The MailOnline said the Hell’s Kitchen star ‘kept his cool’ during the rant, and simply waited for the man to leave. Then, he climbed back into his car with his shopping. The Sun reports that the family’s move irked residents and they had slammed the celebrity chef in a private Facebook group, where they suggested he is an ‘arrogant

second-homer immune from the virus and any rules’. An unnamed friend close to the family has hit back at the criticism. ‘It is a hurtful and unnecessary campaign, as the Ramsays see Cornwall as their “family home” and usually spend most of their time there,’ he said. ‘Most of their neighbours are so welcoming and they love being part of the community.’

Luxury playhouse Showbiz super couple George and Amal Clooney are reportedly pumping the cash into a new project for their little ones. 58-year-old Hollywood icon George and 42-year-old lawyer Amal are said to be putting an eye-watering £90,000 into a playhouse for their two-year-old twins Alexander and Ella. The two-storey project will mimic George and Amal's main house, complete with running water, air conditioning and a fully functional kitchen. It wouldn't be a kids' playhouse without a bit of the unusual though, so there will also reportedly be a life-sized giraffe toy and even a zip wire. The Clooneys are said to have enlisted designer Barbara Butler and Michael S Smith — who redesigned Barack Obama's office in the White House in 2010 — for the interior. ‘It is extravagant but George and Amal want the best,’ a source told The Sun. ‘They are also adamant the kids are appreciative and don't take anything for granted.’ The couple have reportedly donated more than one million dollars to various charities to help the fight against coronavirus. Baby boomer Rochelle Humes and husband Marvin have announced they're expecting their third baby. This Morning star Rochelle, 31, took to her Instagram page to announce the news over Easter. Addressing her 1.8million followers, the brunette wrote: ‘There's a baby bunny in my oven...’ The star also shared an adorable photo which showed a board reading: ‘We're eggspecting baby Humes, October 2020.’ Rochelle and JLS star Marvin have been married since 2012, and are already parents to daughters Alaia-Mai, six, and Valentina Raine, three.

these "air holes." "Could that be the problem?" he asked.

Recently, I got a call from someone who turned off his computer whenever he found himself somewhere in Windows he didn't want to be. "I just turn it off when I don't like where I am," he said.

One day a customer called complaining that he just received his computer, but it won't turn on. When he first pushed the power button, the screen flashed and then everything died.

• Customer: "Hi, I was wondering if you could fix my laptop. It's under warranty." •Tech Support: "What seems to be the trouble with it?" •Customer: "My wife got mad and threw it in the pool."

I couldn't do much over the phone, so I went to the customer's office. It was plugged in, everything was hooked up ok, but, sure enough, it refused to turn on. I decided to take it back and promised to deliver a new one as soon as possible. But when I went to pick it up, I couldn't. Fearful of thieves, the man had fired some 24 inch bolts straight through the box, through the hard drive, motherboard, everything, locking it to his desk. “Oh,” he said, “I thought it was just the Tv part that was important. Will my warranty cover this?”

A man purchased a laptop from me. He called about a week later and said that it would no longer boot up. He brought it in, and I discovered that sixteen nicely drilled holes were in the bottom of the case. I asked him about it, and he said the machine was too hot sitting on his lap, so he had drilled

In these uncertain times we are all trying to grab onto some kind of normality and I know all of us are using meal times as important times of our day. I wake up every morning thinking about what I am having for dinner, breakfast, lunch and these have become milestones of our day Whether it’s to beat boredom or anxiety, or simply being in closer proximity to the kitchen while being at home, many of us will find ourselves snacking our way through the day during lockdown. This is the same situation all of us are in, the lethargy has kicked in and any version of online fitness is a thing of the past. All I can say is don´t despair, just remember that all of us are eating healthier, even if it is a lot more than usual. No longer are we having processed food, it is all made from scratch, even if it involves more carbs than we have been used to. So this article is giving you slight tweaks in your daily food routine to keep calories a little lower and weight gain being under control.

Staying Healthy (Continued) It sounds crazy, but if I were to ask you how many cups of tea you have been having a day, I can imagine it is double figures so try and cut down on milk and sugar. It appears insignificant, but proves significant over time. Avoid that biscuit that always accompanies the cup of tea... add them up, you would be amazed. Another tip is to drink a cup of water before you take a snack, dehydration can sometimes present itself as hunger. The picture shows an example of how you can tweak your day without even noticing it.: Even with all of this advice, one thing that I can´t reiterate more is that... At the end of the day, if you are keeping sane and happy, keep doing what you are doing. Stay safe. xxxx The first important point is to understand the amount of empty calories in alcohol, not only that, but as we drink we snack more.

Strange Times Continued... ...and plans for our future vendors Last month I wrote about the best ways to make your house as presentable as possible, ready for selling when the buyers are back. By the time this is published, we may be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in this very strange time we are all living, but with many hurdles yet to come, I am sure. The big problem for those wishing to sell up their properties is when the buyers will be back. With the borders closed and airlines still on the ground, it may take some time before we are able to bring clients to see your properties, even when the shops are all open again and most businesses getting back to normal. But even now, we are receiving plenty of enquiries from potential buyers, who are equally frustrated at not being able to get over! They are all desperate to get cracking on their search, and we are engaging as much as we can in conversations with them, and discussing all their options in more detail than time normally permits us. Indeed, we

have noticed a growing number of people wanting to make a permanent move, in search of a new, more back-to-basics lifestyle in Spain. Who knows, this may be a new trend. With that in mind, and given the limited ability to actually bring about deals at the present time, we have a plan, to offer maximum exposure of your property, even if we cannot get out at the moment to list your house, and when we do, possible state of the art sales aids to boost the experience of those interested in advance of any viewing trip, thus generating serious interest and hopefully resulting in a higher probability of reaching a deal when they do visit. To those vendors already working with us, and those of you who wish to put your property on the market, do get in contact and let’s discuss how we can get those buyers back! Lockdown Lifestyle By the time you’re reading this some return to normality should have happened Reluctant teenagers will be being dragged outside by their freedom seeking parents to endure an hour’s constitutional healthy walk. Anyone who knows or suffers a teenage child will be quite aware that the average 12 to 14 years old actually loves to live in their PJs, in a pit of a bedroom, sending endless vacuous messages to their friends about being terminally bored. This has nothing to do with any virus, it’s a teenage state of mind. Likewise, the under 5s will probably spend most of their brief sojourn attempting to escape their parents because someone else’s parent 50m away looks far more interesting. God help any parent unlucky enough to meet their child’s best friend but they’re unable to play together. The bawling, tantrum and screaming will finally push them over the edge of what little sanity they had left. However, the release of children does suggest that very soon, attired in some sort of face covering, we will meet again. Lockdown lessons It has been said that lockdown has taught society some valuable lessons about values. Am I the only one who considers it strange that a killer virus is needed to make us be kinder to each other or realise that many of the underpaid employees are the ones we should respect and admire? All that being said, if it has made us kinder, then that at least makes a few months of isolation of some value. On a personal level, I’ve learnt some lockdown lessons of my own. 1. Makeup does not need to be part of my daily routine. It’s not that I’ve been shielding myself from the general public. I’ve been giving classes 5 days a week. No one has even batted an unmascaraed eye at my appearance. 2. My shopping addiction is over. I’ve done cold turkey with shopping.

Following lockdown law, my purchases have been food and essentials. Aside from what I’ve saved, it has shown me what I’ve spent on frippery. 3. Freedom of movement is wonderful and I’ll never take it for granted again. I don’t miss shopping, restaurants, pubs or clubs but, OMG, I long for a time when I can walk by the sea in the morning or evening. 4. I’m more resilient than I thought. If anyone had set me a challenge not to venture further than my garden gate for several weeks, I’d have thought them crazy. But here am I, 7 weeks and counting. I’m not saying I’ve got the Blitz spirit but I can certainly self isolate with the best of them. 5. Social Media is a blessing and a curse. I’ve kept connected. I’ve been the landlady of an online bar. It’s not the same but it makes drinking on your own seem less excessive. But there’s a lot of madness out there on social media. A lot of hate, a lot of ‘experts’ and a ridiculous amount of idiots. However, I’m in charge of my experience and there’s something singularly refreshing about a delete and block button. Lockdown lifestyle Some say that for the next year or so, we will need to be prepared to spend time in lockdown, as the virus revisits. In the style of Desert Island Discs, I’ve put together my absolute requirements for Lockdown. 3 tunes Whatever the playlist, these 3 tracks are my lockdown essential listening. 1) Rag n Bone Man: Giant 2) Bill Withers: Lean on me 3) Faithless: Insomnia Obviously, the original show had 10 songs but you get the idea. Luxury item My paintbox, paper and brushes, long neglected but now one of the ways I maintain my happiness. What would be your choices?  Written by Grimble

Dine In Style : Kahani Chelsea, Belgravia and Knightsbridge are just three of the affluent areas of London. These districts, in central and South West London, have high - quality residential and retail properties of outstanding build and character. Many designer outlets offer exclusive, grand and very impressive products. Numerous top hotels and restaurants are located in these areas, too.

Award-winning Kahani, Indian fine dining restaurant, offers cuisine of an exceptional standard. Chef Peter Joseph opened this restaurant during 2018 and gained a lot of interest and praise from the outset. Peter was raised in Chennai, India and has taken great influence from those earlier days. His surroundings and mother’s culinary skills became ‘engraved’ in his mind. Peter continued his knowledge and expertise, gaining experiences in Britain’s kitchens. Traditional Indian methods of cooking are used at Kahani, utilising the very best ingredients – with Peter’s signature, modern twist – offering authentic dishes from many areas of India. Starter dishes and small plates can include Spiced Chickpeas with sweetened yoghurt, mint, tamarind chutney, papdi and Soft Shell Crunchy Crab (Mangalorean spices, kachumber, smoked tomato chutney), amongst an impressive array. My selection of Beetroot, with peach, apple, baby leaves, pine nuts and mustard, proved to be an excellent commencement to the dining occasion, being flavoursome and with

eye-catching presentation. Choices for mains offer Kahani Klaasik, Specials and Kahani Dawat. With meat, game, vegetable and seafood options available, certainly there is something for all tastes. I opted for Trio of Chicken Tikka (Tandoor grilled chicken supreme with cream cheese, mint and pickling spices). The complementing flavours

in this dish were ‘outstanding’. Tender, succulent, this definitely warranted ‘Compliments to Chef’. Other options include sirloin, lamb, prawns, bass, lobster tail and more. Desserts are excellent and impressive, too. Medley of Kulfis (Salted caramel, rose malai, pistachio) makes a perfect ending to the experience. Parties, events and occasions can all be arranged and accommodated. The Cadogan Hall is very close, with fabulous events throughout the year. Menus include Tasting, Vegetarian, Vegan and more. Certainly, all tastes can be (very) pleased. Gift vouchers are available – now there’s a thought! Private dining is available, too. Many thanks to Manuel, for knowledge of cuisine and exemplary service, throughout. Highly recommended. Kids :) I dont believe these were written by kids but they’re funny. First graders A first grade school teacher in Virginia had twenty-five students in her class. She presented each child in her classroom the first half of a well known saying and asked them to come up with the remainder of the saying. It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders. Their insights may surprise you. While reading, keep in mind that these are first graders, 6-year-olds, because the last one is a classic! 1. Don't change horses...until they stop running 2. Strike while the...bug is close 3. It's always darkest before...Daylight Saving Time 4. Never underestimate the power of... termites. 5. There are none so blind as... Stevie Wonder 6. Laugh and the whole world laughs with you, cry and... you have to blow your nose 7. Better late than... pregnant

Jokes h a ha :) I was devastated to find out my wife was having an affair, but by turning to religion I was soon able to come to terms with the whole thing. The doctor arrived, and examined the baby a poor skinny little thing, checked his weight, and being a little concerned, asked if the baby was breast-fed or bottle-fed. “Breast-fed,” she replied.. “Well, strip down to your waist,” the doctor ordered. She did. He pinched her nipples, pressed, kneaded, and rubbed both breasts for a while in a very professional and detailed examination. Lots of hums and hahs ... Motioning to her to get dressed, the doctor said, “No wonder this baby is underweight. You don't have any milk.” “I know,” she said, “I'm his Grandma, but I'm glad I came”. ------------------------------------------------------------An old Irish farmer's dog goes missing and he's inconsolable. His wife says "Why don't you put an advert in the paper?" He does, but two weeks later the dog is still missing. "What did you put in the paper?" his wife asks. "Here boy" he replies -------------------------------------------------------------

Little Johnny rushes into the living room of a tenth-floor apartment. "Mummy, mummy, you told me a lie!" "Why do you say that Johnny?" "Because you told me that my baby brother was a little angel!" "But that's true; he is" "So why didn't he fly when I threw him out of the window?" ------------------------------------------------------------It was Postman Pat's last day on the job after 35 years of carrying the mail through all kinds of weather to the same villages and towns. When he arrived at the first house on his route, he was greeted by the whole family there, who all hugged and congratulated him and sent him on his way with a cheque for £50. At the second house they presented him an 18-carat gold watch. The folks at the third house handed him a bottle of 15-year old Scotch whisky. At the fourth house he was met at the door by a dumb blonde in her lingerie. She took him by the arm and led him up the stairs to the bedroom where she blew his mind with the most passionate love he had ever experienced. When they went downstairs, the blonde fixed him a full English breakfast: Bacon, Eggs, Sausage & Tomato with freshly squeezed orange juice. As she was pouring him a cup of steaming coffee, he noticed a quid coin in the saucer. 'All this was just too wonderful for words,' he said, 'but what's the quid for?' ‘Well,' said the dumb blonde, 'Last night, I told my husband that today would be your last day and that we should do something special for you'. 'I asked him what I should give you'. He said, 'F*** him. Give him a quid.' She smiled shyly and said, 'The breakfast was my idea.'

s e p o c s o Hor by Juanita Banana of Banana Moon www.AbsoluteAxarquia.com ARIES: March 21-April 20 Your selflessness is surprising to some but expected by others so make sure any favours are done because you want to and not because you except recognition for them. Patience and persistence are required mid-month, especially since you will come up against some worthy opponents. Be cautious in showing your work to, or sharing resources with, someone else who may take credit TAURUS: April 21-May 21 For the first nine days of May you feel good about your current role in this lifetime – you may wish to explain but no need to apologise. A possible hiccup at this time could occur on the 4th or 5th, when someone challenges you or aids a piece of the puzzle you feel wasn’t missing. From the 10th to the 12th, you may be confronted with other fears as rivalries flare. Beat back opportunists, and you’ll have a fair shot at everything you deserve GEMINI: May 22-June 21 Between the 19th and 21st you’re the happy victim of a gradual transformation as something or someone has plans for you. Go with the programme and reap the benefits! In the best possible way, things get personal on the 22nd and, by the 24th, you’ll emerge as a ringleader. Responsibility for others is fun but will cost you time and energy CANCER: June 22-July 22 Attention is withdrawn on the 2nd and 3rd May making you gloomy until the universe intervenes on the 4th and 5th. With some big, beautiful plans, and inspiration filling your sails, you breeze through, although perhaps missing a deadline. There may be some unwanted social obligations on the weekend of the 15th to 17th but a prize awaits at the end. Assert yourself in new ways on the 21st to 24th and reap the benefits you hoped for LEO: July 23-August 23 As strange things happen to good friends on the 4th or 5th May, you question your own direction. Your warm and sharing, tribal vibe cools after the 8th when you realise this may not be the time/place - but you can still have fun! The 13th could be embarrassing but the 14th shows you a way out. Reclaim your own on the 15th without apology. By the 20th, you’re only dealing with people that you like and move on to a new phase of your life VIRGO: August 24-September 22 Your personal best gets even better on the 6th and 7th May, when previous efforts blossom. The afterglow fades by the 13th and you’ll miss meaningful challenge. By the 15th/16th new energy will empower you, allowing you to power your way through a wave of chaos on the 17th, some alien thinking on the 19th and an ego attack on the 21st. Don’t let the latter drive off your friends

or undercut your support system. Watch out for thieves from the 26th to 28th LIBRA: September 23 - October 22 Wrapping up old business on May 11th feels good. Personal relationships play with your mind and heart around the 15th but, after the 17th, you’re happy to stay where you are and trust others to be who they are. Late on the 19th, you’re back in a favoured position of benign dominance. From the 25th, the month ends on a high note as you find a way to gather people together for entertainment SCORPIO: October 23 - November 21 From 1st to 9th May all your needs are fulfilled and the universe reveals some major secrets. Watch out for careless behaviour that hurts others between the 10th and 12th. Later in the month you’ll admit to not knowing everything and, conveniently a kindhearted person steps forward to teach you from the 22nd to 24th. Through charity, fascination or love, there’s a new source of human energy in your life SAGITTARIUS: November 22 - December 21 Between the 5th and 7th May you have cosmic permission to live large, flirt shamelessly and speak of the future as one who knows. By the 15th you find your niche in a tribe or as a beloved regular. Enjoy it while you have it, because a spending freeze, beginning on the 17th, might chill leisure activities until the 25th/26th. A spot of soul searching from the 27th may have you admitting that your true potential lies elsewhere CAPRICORN: December 22 - January 20 At the beginning of May, beware of disappointing results if you commit an entire weekend to the wrong person. On the 8th/9th you’re the centerpiece of a wonderfully human web - you’re warm, caring, if a little patronising, but nobody minds. You take especially good care of your people when adult intervention is required on the 11th. Towards the end of the month you’re obliged (again) to share with someone who doesn’t appreciate the importance of your mission AQUARIUS: January 21 - February 19 Prepare yourself for major obstruction and distracting community issues on the 4th/5th - life can’t get crazier, but it can get better as it does from the 6th to 16th. The right influence shows up and sweeps you away. You’re not afraid of self-discovery or ashamed of what’s natural. Others are interested in turning over a new leaf even if this still feels like the same old thing to you. By the 30th you’re on the road to a better place PISCES: February 20 - March 20 The first three days of May are challenging and what feels good may not actually be good for you. None of this matters once you cross paths with a runaway adventure on the 4th/5th. Your wild, impossible self emerges on the 13th/14th, and no one stuffs you back into any box. However, around the 17th listen to a voice of reason before the universe slaps you down. Find friends and match temporary destinies from the 22nd to 24th
