m Fro Ed... e the th This month I would like to share an amazing experience that I had when a friend came to visit me in Alhaurin. One day we went out for lunch and we kept seeing monks all around us – dressed just like the Dalai Lama, in deep red and golden cloaks. We wondered where they were all coming from and found it highly auspicious since we had been trying to get the Dalai Lama’s blessing for a book we are putting together called The Light. After lunch we headed to the heladeria for a cheeky ice cream and the entire outside was full of some of these monks, however there were two free chairs in the sun, which we quickly sat down in. As I chose an ice cream, a lady approached us and began making small talk. We discovered that she was part of a convention of monks which was taking place in the sports centre up the road – thousands of monks from all over the world had gathered to meditate on peace. She asked if we had visited the Buddhist temple up the road to which we shook our heads. She smiled and said that we should visit some time. After our ice cream we decided to check out the temple right away. We got in our car and set off, soon finding the Kadampa centre and temple. We pulled out outside some gates and a security man stopped us saying we couldn’t go in because of the convention – today the centre wasn’t open to members of the public. We spoke a little more and before long he said we could go in but only very quickly to take some leaflets and I had to leave my car outside the gates.

Once inside, a van couldn’t get past my car and beeped its horn. The security man said it was ok to drive into the gates so long as we were quick. We got talking some more and he invited us to look at the temple and said we could meditate there but that we couldn’t be long. As soon as my friend and I knelt on a meditation cushion and closed our eyes, immersed in the beautiful loving energy of this temple (called the Temple of Peace), tears came to our eyes. We felt love

Strange News

pulsating around every inch of our being and we smiled, our minds naturally switching off as we meditated on peace and love.

Fainting fit A QVC host carried on with his sales pitch to viewers - despite his co-presenter fainting beside him live on air. Dan Wheeler was in the middle of promoting a computer tablet with QVC technology expert Cassie Slane when she suddenly collapsed. "Kids love tablets. They love playing with tablets, they love the games," she said before beginning to slur her words. Appearing flustered, Ms Slane then patted herself on the chest before falling towards her cohost and onto a table. However, the unruffled Mr Wheeler didn't miss a beat as he continued his sales pitch as the cameras switched to a shot of the product. Ms Slane later took to Facebook to reassure viewers she was recovering, while a colleague put the incident down to 'low blood sugar levels'.

We opened our eyes at exactly the same time and I realised that at least 20 minutes had passed. Anxious that the security man would be fuming we left the temple to find the director of the centre who had just arrived. She smiled and introduced herself asking who we were. She then invited us for a walk around the gardens and after previously being told that the centre was closed today, said we were welcome here anytime. The whole experience was magical and we felt highly blessed to be allowed deeper and deeper into the holy sanctum of this holy shrine. When we arrived back at the house we looked up into the sky and there were three spiritual Om signs in the clouds and one of them reflected a radiant rainbow in its core. In the days before this occurred my friend and I had been under psychic attack from a tirade of negative energy and false accusations – the result of a ugly and flared ego of a former friend. We were both being reminded how much we are loved and protected. Remember to always read the signs and know that no matter what is going on in your life, that you too are loved.

Pot Plant Police have seized a giant marijuana plant from an elderly couple who unwittingly bought it at a car boot sale. The couple were shocked to find that their carefully tended shrub was in fact a gigantic cannabis plant. Police officers in Bedford said it was the biggest plant they had ever seen, reports the Daily Mail. Bedfordshire police took to Twitter to comment on their find and post a photo of the huge bush growing in the suburban garden. The tweet from Bedford Borough's local policing team read: "Seized today. Elderly couple bought shrub at car boot sale, tended carefully - biggest cannabis plant we had seen!" thieving habit CCTV footage of a 'nun' caught on camera stealing beer from a US convenience store is going viral online. The clip, which has notched up close to 150,000 views on YouTube, shows a woman wearing a nun's habit opening a refrigerator full of beer. She is seen reaching for a can of beer then having a quick look around before surreptitiously putting it inside her habit. The 'nun' then walks over to another refrigerator and takes out a bottle of water, which she holds in her hand before returning to the first refrigerator for another beer. It is not clear whether the woman is a real nun or merely a petty criminal using a costume as a diversion.

Water And Your Health The following will probably amaze and startle you..

Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University study:

Of course, too much water may have strange side effects......

Lack of water is the 1st trigger of daytime fatigue. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic maths and difficulty focusing on the computer screen. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79% and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Don't get carried away! Now that I have your attention, go get another glass of water! BUT BE VERY, VERY CAREFUL!!!

De Cotta Law Spanish Powers of Attorney Sandra Wrightson, Barrister Overseas, De Cotta Law what is a Power of attorney? It is a legal document that appoints someone to undertake actions and execute documents on your behalf. Can i grant a Power of attorney to my spouse or partner for spanish assets? Granting a power of attorney can be a practical solution where a spouse or civil partner works abroad and only one of the couple can attend in person when buying or selling property. Equally you may not be available in Spain to undertake all the legal work and to sign documents when dealing with property or assets in Spain. In Spain a Power of Attorney must be signed before a notary public. The document can be executed in Spain or in England. The Spanish formalities for a power of attorney are dealt with

under the notarial rules and their use is strictly governed by the Spanish Civil Code. The Spanish Civil Code has strict rules on the use of powers of attorney. These include the obligation to only use the power on the instructions of the donee; the obligation to ensure proper record keeping and the duty to the donee to act in the best interests of the person granting the power. Can a Power of attorney be misused It is important to know that a Spanish form power of attorney cannot be used if the granter loses mental capacity to make decisions about its use. Also it cannot be used after the death of the granter. The power can be specific to a particular act or more general with wide faculties to act. You may have heard stories of the misuse of powers of attorney by agents or others so you should ensure that you are advised of any acts being undertaken on your behalf. It is always best to provide written instructions and to ask to be informed in writing of anything being done on your behalf so that no misunderstandings can arise. For litigation purposes a very comprehensive power of attorney has to be granted to Spanish lawyers – abogados – and court agents – procuradores – to present pleadings and pursue proceedings in the Spanish courts. There are regional colleges of lawyers and procurators who regulate the profession. The colleges are responsible for - deontologia – professional conduct rules which include rules on conflicts, ethics, obtaining instructions and pursuing matters with due diligence including reporting to the client. Next time, we’ll discuss the use of a Lasting Power of attorney for Uk assets De Cotta Law specialises in dealing with all aspects of spanish Law for English speaking clients and international clients. Riddle Fun Bit of lateral thinking for you.... 1. A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms. The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him?

unusual about it. It looks so ordinary and plain that you would think nothing was wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is highly unusual though. Study it and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out. Try to do so without any coaching.

2. A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be?

5. The letter "e" which is the most common letter used in the English language, does not appear even once in the paragraph.

3. What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away?

3. Charcoal, as it is used in barbecuing. 2. The woman was a photographer. She shot a picture of her husband, developed it, and hung it up to dry (shot; held under water; and hung). 1. The third room. Lions that haven't eaten in three years are dead. That one was easy, right? Answers

5. This is an unusual paragraph. I'm curious as to just how quickly you can find out what is so

4. Sure you can name three consecutive days, yesterday, today, and tomorrow!

4. Can you name three consecutive days without using the words Wednesday, Friday, or Sunday?

Grey is a timeless, practical and solid colour. It’s a longstanding favourite suit colour, as it can mix well with any colour. Although well liked and often worn, people rarely name grey as a favourite colour, possibly because it’s also associated with loss or depression. It is the colour of intellect, knowledge, and wisdom. It is perceived as long-lasting, classic, and often as sleek or refined. It is a colour that is dignified, conservative and carries authority. Grey is controlled and inconspicuous and is considered a colour of compromise, perhaps because it sits between the extremes of black and white.

Grey is the colour for Lent in Christianity, and also representative of mourning and repentance. The Confederate Army wore grey uniforms during the Civil War. The New York Times is sometimes called “Grey Lady." Grey is associated with intellect and the brain is composed of “grey matter." The human eye can distinguish about 500 shades of grey. A grey mood is an unhappy mood. If you buy a grey or silver vehicle, it is said to mean you are elegant, love futuristic looks and that you’re “cool.” And let’s not forget the man himself Christian “Mr Grey” from the world famous Trilogy 50 Shades..

Wincham International Limited how wincham helped save the family holiday home from the spanish tax man. Our clients were aware of the problem that would face their family upon their deaths and the fact that they may have to pay inheritance tax both in their country of domicile and in Spain. Spanish law dictates that the beneficiary of your estate must pay tax on the amount that they inherit. The level of tax payable is not a fixed rate and is determined by the relationship to the deceased, their residency status and their existing wealth in Spain. In addition the estate of the Deceased could be liable to pay inheritance tax in their country of domicile. The married couple owned a property in Spain in their joint names with an approximate value of €256,000 as a holiday home. They each had children from previous relationships. We provided them with a free illustration which highlighted that the potential inheritance tax due to be paid by their beneficiaries would be in the region of €78,424. Beneficiaries are unable sell or mortgage the property to find the tax payable. The tax has to be paid within 6 months before additional fines and interest are added to the sum, this would prevent the children from ever inheriting the property unless they were wealthy in their own right. what are the options to minimise the liability? – the wincham solution. We assisted our clients to invest their Spanish property into their own UK Company (which was supplied by Wincham) of which they were the Directors and shareholders and had total control. Contrary to popular belief there was no 7% Property Transfer Tax payable on the transaction. Our method enabled them to utilise Spanish legislation to conveniently own and maintain their home within a corporate structure in the most tax efficient way. Although the use of an off shore Company creates an additional 3% tax burden each year a UK company is not classed as off shore and therefore UK companies are treated as Non Resident of Spain and as such cannot be discriminated against and are not required to pay the 3% Tax. title Deeds insurance – wincham is one of only a few Legal advisors able to offer this insurance in spain. All Clients who use our services to purchase or invest a property into a UK limited company will now be covered by Title Deed Insurance which affords cover for 20 years. The policy covers the following: •Demolition Order: Imagine that after several years a Demolition Order is placed on your house because it is shown that the associated building licence is illegal because it infringed land classification (Urban Planning Scheme) at the time of purchase, or simply because your house was built without a licence or in breach of the terms of the building. •Fraud: By virtue of article 34 of Spanish law “Ley Hipotecaria” you may lose your home in the event of fraudsters faking your identity and selling your house to a third party who is purchasing in good faith and registering at the land registry. •Compulsory Purchase: You discover your house is subject to a compulsory purchase order or proceedings which predated your purchase. There are cases where not only is your land compulsorily purchased but you will also have to pay a large administrative fee. There are up to 20 other areas covered and a maximum of €360,000 compensation for the Insured. UK Limited Company Ownership In summary there are many taxation benefits when investing your property into your own UK Limited Company, in addition the ownership of the company can be structured to suit your Beneficiaries needs in a way that is simply not possible under Spanish law. If you would like to know more about our solution and receive your ‘complimentary’ Spanish Inheritance Tax illustration please visit www.winchamiht.com or scan the QR code below. Alternatively contact one of our advisers on +44 (0)1260 299 700 (UK) or 0034 965 830 991 (Spain) for a free Consultation. We are the market leaders in this field and aim to provide a friendly and professional service for our Clients. With the unique ability to tailor our services to comply with Legislation in both jurisdictions whilst providing our clients with the peace of mind that they and their Beneficiaries will be able to retain their holiday home to be enjoyed by future generations. Wincham International is also able to assist you with Legal, Accountancy, Will Writing and Probate issues in both the UK and Spain.

Osteopathy What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is safe for all age groups.

Osteopathy is a form of drug-free non-invasive manual medicine that focuses on total body health by treating and strengthening the musculoskeletal framework, which includes the joints, muscles, ligaments and spine, and is also used to diagnose and prevent musculoskeletal conditions. Its aim is to positively affect the body´s nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems.

what conditions do Osteopaths commonly treat?

This therapy is a unique holistic (whole body) approach to health care. Osteopaths do not simply concentrate on treating the problem area, but use manual techniques to balance all the systems of the body, to provide overall good health and wellbeing. Many health problems are thought to be caused by poor posture and misalignment of muscles and joints. Osteopaths suggest that if the structure of your body is improved, the function of your body will also improve, problems will be alleviated and you will return to good health.

Headaches Spinal misalignment Back pain Neck and shoulder pain Heel / foot pain Sciatica Joint discomfort Arthritis Sports injuries Restricted mobility Repetitive strain injury Whiplash Postural problems but also: Tennis elbow Carpal tunnel syndrome Asthma Digestive problems … and more. interesting Facts - Controlling access to the Red Sea, Djibouti is of major strategic importance, a fact that has ensured a steady flow of foreign assistance. France has thousands of troops as well as warships, aircraft and armoured vehicles in Djibouti, contributing directly and indirectly to the country's income. The US has stationed hundreds of troops in Djibouti, its only African base, in an effort to counter terrorism in the region. Lake Assal, the lowest point in Djibouti, is also the lowest point in Africa (approximately 155m below sea level). The lake is one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world. The first case of human infection with H5N1 avian flu in sub-Saharan Africa was confirmed in Djibouti in May 2006. A 17 mile long bridge, linking Djibouti in Africa and Yemen in the Middle East, is under consideration by investors.

The term mackerel derives from the Old French maquerel, c.1300, meaning a pimp or procurer. Mackerel travel in schools of up to 1000, feeding on other fish (chiefly herring) and on squid, and migrate between deep and shallow waters. Fish within the school tend to be much the same size They are smaller members of the tuna family, and there are more than 30 different species

within the group. It takes a mackerel around seven years to reach 1lb in weight. They can live up to 25 years. If touched by human hands, they die within two days. Even though microscopically only damaged — some believe it is the heat of the human hand which affects it — the mackerel's skin continues to break down and they can die as soon as 30 hours later. They require so much oxygen for their vital processes that when the water is warm (hence its oxygen content low) they must keep swimming constantly in order to bring sufficient flow of water to their gill filaments, or else they die.

Amazing Marine Life (Continued) Many believe mackerel feed off the bodies of drowned sailors.

Sport fishermen value the fighting abilities of the king mackerel.

Females lay between 300,000 and 1,500,000 eggs in their lifetime.

Mackerel are strong swimmers. Atlantic mackerel can swim at a sustained speed of 0.98 metres/sec with a burst speed of 5.5 m/s.

Small mackerel are prey for larger fish — and even larger examples of their own breed! Flocks of seabirds, as well as whales, dolphins, sharks and schools of larger fish such as tuna and marlin follow mackerel schools and attack them in sophisticated and co-operative ways. Mackerel is high in omega-3 oils and is intensively harvested by humans. In 2009, over five million tonnes were landed by commercial fishermen.

The authors of The Cambridge Economic History of Europe said: "There are more references to stinking mackerel in English literature than to any other fish!” This is because mackerel ‘spoil’ more quickly than most other fish; they should be eaten on the day of capture, unless properly refrigerated or cured. In the 2000s it was reported that inmates in United States federal prisons had developed a custom of using packages of mackerel (typically packed in pouches) as a form of currency for bartering between inmates. This occurred after cigarettes, the previous prison currency, were banned.

SATELLITE TELEVISION SERVICES 3D TV adds a whole new dimension to your overall TV viewing experience. Sporting events such as Wimbledon and the Olympics come to life, adding depth and feeling to those great sporting events — not to mention Last Night Of The Proms and even Eastenders, soon to be available in 3D. Some of the world’s major TV manufacturers are predicting that almost 50 per cent of all TVs sold in 2012 will be 3D ready. There are two systems for 3D TV reception: active and passive. Until 2011, home 3D television primarily used active shutterglasses with LCD or plasma displays. These displayed the 3D image alternately to the left and right eye. They were powered by a small battery in the glasses and synchronised to the TV by Bluetooth. Since 2011, major TV manufacturers have introduced displays using circular polarised light technology, employing horizontal polarising stripes overlaying the screen.

separate the left and right image. Unfortunately this meant that some sort of level head was required for any reliable viewing; any attempt to try and tilt the head would result in the polarisation failing, ghosting and both eyes seeing both images. Circular polarisation has alleviated this problem, allowing viewers to tilt their head and move around the room with little or no loss of the 3D effect. Benefits of the passive 3D system compared with active: 1, Glasses are generally inexpensive. 2, Glasses do not require power. 3, It does not require a transmitter to synchronise the glasses with the display. 4, It does not suffer from flicker. 5, It does not create visible crosstalk between the left and right eye.

The stripes alternate polarisation with each line displayed. This permits the use of relatively inexpensive passive viewing glasses.

6, It has a wider horizontal viewing angle.

Unfortunately, glasses still need to be worn in order to effectively separate the light to each eye.

8, Lightweight glasses — typically 16g per pair

The Frog And Golf

A man takes the day off work and decides to go out golfing. He is on the second hole when he notices a frog sitting next to the green. He thinks nothing of it and is about to shoot when he hears, ‘Ribbit 9 Iron.' The man looks around and doesn't see anyone. again, he hears, 'Ribbit 9 Iron.' He looks at the frog and decides to prove the frog wrong, puts the club away, and grabs a 9 iron. Boom! He hits it 10 inches from the cup. He is shocked and says to the frog, 'Wow that's amazing.. You must be a lucky frog, eh?’ The frog replies, 'Ribbit lucky frog.' The man decides to take the frog with him to the next hole. 'What do you think frog?' The man asks. 'Ribbit 3 wood.' The guy takes out a 3 wood and, Boom! Hole in one... The man is befuddled and doesn't know what to say. By the end of the day, the man carded the best game of golf in his life and asks the frog, 'OK where to next?' The frog replies, 'Ribbit Las Vegas.’ They go to Las Vegas and the guy says, 'OK

frog, now what?' The frog says, 'Ribbit Roulette.' Upon approaching the roulette table, The man asks, 'What do you think I should bet?' The frog replies, 'Ribbit $3,000, Black 6.' Now, this is a million-to-one shot to win, but after the golf game the man figures what the heck. Boom! Tons of cash comes sliding back across the table. The man takes his winnings and buys the best room in the Hotel. He sits the frog down and says, 'Frog, I don't know how to repay you. You've won me all this money and I am forever grateful.' The frog replies, 'Ribbit kiss me.' He figures why not, since after all the frog did for him, he deserves it. With a kiss, the frog turns into a gorgeous 15-year-old girl. 'And that, your honour, is how the girl ended up in my room. So help me God or my name is not William Jefferson Clinton.'

Angela Taylor: The Real Estate ‘Face Of Spain’ Angela Taylor, from Buy A Home Spain bought her first holiday home here in Torre del Mar some 12 years ago and then made the decision to move here permanently in 2006 with her husband and son. Just 6 years ago she started her estate agency business which has gone from strength to strength, resulting in the recent accolade of being chosen to represent Spain on the Panel of Experts at the UK’s largest and most successful overseas property exhibition, ‘A Place in the Sun Live’, held at the NEC in Birmingham. Angela and her team took the decision to take a stand there last year for the first time and found themselves as the sole representative for estate agents ‘East of Málaga’. The inevitable success and raising of profile meant that they could not resist the temptation to return this September and so they organised a larger stand and employed more staff to cope with the anticipated influx of people wanting to buy and rent in sunny southern Spain. The managing director of the exhibition approached Buy A Home Spain to ask Angela if she would consider being the ‘Face of Spain’ at their forthcoming show. When asked why he had chosen this particular agent above all the others from the various regions of Spain, he responded by saying: ”It was a mixture of reasons. Firstly, I was very impressed with their website which clearly caters for not only sales but also long-term and holiday rentals and secondly, we couldn’t help but notice the professional way in which her team set up their stand and how they operated to make it the busiest at last year’s show. Add to that the feedback we had regarding not only the way in which they handle the whole process from initial enquiry to finalising the sale or rental, but also the after-service given to help people settle in their new environment overseas.” So this resulted in Angela sitting on the Panel of Experts in the Advice Theatre (see photo), not only answering questions about the pros and cons of living, buying and renting in Spain, but also adding a touch of glamour, by being the only person dressed in traditional Spanish costume. When asked how this year’s show compared with 2011, Angela replied by saying: “We were overwhelmed by the response at our stand because people were queuing up not only to speak to ‘the lady from the Panel of Experts’

but also to someone who has had personal experience of doing what they were planning to do.” This has resulted in a list of potential buyers coming over to Spain for property inspection trips – and – even bigger plans for Buy A Home Spain at the next ‘A Place in the Sun Live’ exhibition to be held in London at Olympia from 12th to 14th April 2013.” See main advert on page 2.

Don’t Try This At Home Chaps! This actually happened to yours truely! VEEt FOr MEN hair rEMOVaL CrEME After having been told my danglies looked like an elderly rastafarian I decided to take the plunge and buy some of this Veet stuff as previous shaving attempts had only been mildly succesful and I nearly put my back out trying to reach the more difficult bits. Being a bit of a romantic I thought I would do the deed on “Her indoors” birthday as a bit of a treat. I ordered it well in advance and I consider myself a bit above some of the characters writing the previous reviews and wrote them off as soft office types... Oh my fellow sufferers how wrong was I!!!! I waited until the other half was tucked up in bed and after giving some vague hints about a special surprise I went down to the bathroom. Initially all went well and I applied the gel and stood waiting for something to happen. I didn't have long to wait. At first there was a gentle warmth which in a matter of seconds was replaced by an intense burning and a feeling I can only describe as like being given a barbed wire wedgie by two people intent on hitting the ceiling with my head. Religion hadn't featured much in my life until that night but I suddenly became willing to convert to any religion to stop the violent burning and what seemed like the destruction of my meat and two veg. Stuggling to not bite through my bottom lip, I tried to wash the gel off in the sink and only succeeded in blocking the plughole with a pile of hair. Through the haze of tears I struggled out of the bathroom across the hall into the kitchen, by this time walking was not really possible and I crawled the final yard to the fridge in the hope of some form of cold relief.

managed to give the starfish any treatment and I groped around in the draw for something else as I was sure my vision was going to fail fairly soon. I grabbed a bag of what I later found out was frozen sprouts and tore it open trying to be quiet as I did so. I took a handful of them and tried in vain to clench some between the cheeks of my behind. This was not doing the trick as some of the gel had found it's way up the chutney channel and it felt like the space shuttle was running it's engines behind me. This was probably and hopefully the only time in my life I was going to wish there was a gay snowman in the kitchen which should give you some idea of the depths I was willing to sink to in order to ease the pain. The only solution my pain crazed mind could come up with was to gently ease one of the sprouts where no veg had gone before. Unfortunately, alerted by the strange grunts coming from the kitchen the other half chose that moment to come and investigate and was greeted by the sight of me, backside in the air, strawberry ice cream dripping from my genitals pushing a sprout up my behind while muttering... "Ooooh that feels good" Understandingly this was a shock to her and she let out a scream and as I hadn't heard her come in it caused an involutary spasm of shock in myself which resulted in the sprout being ejected at quite some speed in her direction. I can understand that having a sprout farted against your leg at 11pm at night in the kitchen probably wasn't the special surprise she was expecting and having to explain to the kids the next day what the strange hollow in the ice cream was didn't improve my status...

I yanked the freezer drawer out and found a tub of ice cream, tore the lid off and positioned it under me. The relief was fantastic but only temporary as it melted fairly quickly and the fiery stabbing soon returned. Due to the shape of the ice cream tub I hadn't

Recipe Of The Month Chilli con carne with spicy onion mix Ingredients 500g minced lamb/beef 2/3 tins plum tomatoes 2/3 diced onions couple of fresh chopped tomatoes 1 tube tomato puree splash Worcester sauce 1tsp wholegrain mustard couple of oxo cubes or some gravy granules 1tsp ground cumin 1tsp ground coriander 1tsp oregano 1tsp mixed herbs smal tsp of mixed spice 1 tsp chilli powder (add a bit at a time depending on how spicy you like it) You can also use some fresh chillies finely chopped, depending on personal choice) celery chopped 2 tins red kidney beans red/green/yellow peppers chopped diced mushrooms courgettes (sliced) red/green jalapeno peppers (optional)

avda. andalucia, 34B torre Del Mar ample Parking

Method Fry off the mince and discard any excess fat, then add onions and continue to fry until onions soft. Then add tinned tomatoes and spices, and then everything else. Chilli is best cooked the day before as it always seems to taste better! This isn’t essential, but make sure it is simmered until all the veg you add is nice and soft. The basis of this method is to fry the mince off to remove the fat and then chuck everything in; don’t worry about what you add when! It’s best served with basmati rice Spicy onion mix Peel and slice a few onions into rings and place in a colander, covering layers with salt as you put them in. Leave for 10 to 15 mins. Rinse onions really well, removing all trace of salt, then put them in a glass dish and cover with lemon juice. Then sprinkle lots of chilli powder on them and put in the fridge; this needs to be done at least a couple of hours before serving. It’s also lovely on curries!

Baby Jazmín is perfect, I’m fine (just a tad sore and now have a jelly belly) and we are back at home. Strangely, instead of pure excitement, I’m anxious – I’m a Mummy! This tiny person is totally dependent on me! Being an only child, my only experience is with dogs…can I do it? I will have to! So far, the baby sleeps a lot…during the DAY! Do they not know the difference between day and night?! It needs sorting – note to self: ask the nurse about it when she visits. The dogs are curious about the new arrival. I know they don’t mean any harm and I must make sure I don’t shun them (help prevent any jealousy), but I could do without the lovely ‘presents’ they are leaving for babs! The moment has arrived. It’s time for our first walk; time to show her off to the world! Exciting times! Now, just a quick check that I have got everything – nappies, baby wipes, blanket, baby and pram. It’s all there! I quickly do something with my hair, get my shoes, grab the dog and, gingerly, leave. Oh no, the waddle is still there (although now it is more John Wayne). Must remember why… Along we waddle, all happiness and smiles. Suddenly, ‘waa waa waa’. PANIC. What is wrong…is it her nappy? Is she hungry? I think it’s the latter…

bies suck HARD), the milk is flowing and babs is latched on – phew, I can breathe again. Minutes have passed and she is off again. The plastic nipple is on the floor, the dog is licking it up, everything in close proximity is drenched in milk and the phone is ringing. I have no choice, I put baby to breast, the real McCoy,… WOWSERS…this is what they mean by ‘seeing stars’! I miss the phone, but babs is happily nuzzling. Peace and quiet has been restored. I look at my daughter – ‘I made her- I’m her mum’. I’m overwhelmed with love and awe. The hormones kick in and the tears fall (certainly not for the last time, I’m sure). As I relax, my eyes close and I share a magical moment with my baby girl. It’s 8pm! The day has flown by and all I seem to have done is breastfeed — not many nappy changes, though (note to self – ask the nurse when she comes). Will the nurse ever come..? Anyhow, no time to dwell, Papi is home and it’s time to bath our beautiful baby girl for the first time. What a special moment this will be… More next month x

Cafe - Bar

There’s a tingling sensation and a warm explosion. I look down and SHOCK HORROR. I have two very attractive wet patches on my tshirt!!! The milk discs must have slipped out of place and there is a substantial amount of milk pouring out; I’m tempted to ask the customers at a nearby café if they would like milk with their coffee (must keep a sense of humour). I do my best to hide the tell-tale signs of an inexperienced breastfeeding mum, and (avoiding falling flat on my face) attempt to leg it. What a sight - dog, pram and Mama Wayne!

“Serving a selection of new dishes and of course, Fresh Fish! Attractive prices”

After what feels like forever, we are home and I am physically exhausted and dizzy – note to self, get more rest. Giving birth really does take it out of you. Also get better milk discs, or maybe use two at a time.

Bar Co2

we were talking quality, quality, quality!

Up to Colmenar this month for an eagerlyanticipated Sunday lunch at Bar CO2, a bar/restaurant located on a picturesque square in the heart of this traditional Andalucian pueblo. We were warmly welcomed by proprietors John and Karen and shown to our table. The choice on offer on the day was beef, chicken or pork, and we ordered two beef and one chicken. The children were offered nuggets and chips. As we were enjoying our drinks and eagerly waiting for our food, John explained that he endeavours to use only local produce from smaller farms and that the vegetables were all organic. The beef was from Antequera, the pork from Zafaraya and the chicken from Colmenar, so along with the organic vegetables

The dishes came out and the first thing I noticed was the massive Yorkshire pudding sitting neatly on top. I must say, this was one of the best Yorkies I have ever had! My beef meal was absolutely divine; the taste from the meat was something else, the veg had so much flavour and even the horseradish was fab! My wife's chicken was succulent, meaty and unlike the usual scenario, she didn't even let me have any! For desserts, my mum and I shared a cheese and biscuit board with grapes and crackers — very civilised. My wife, on the other hand, was beside herself when she had ordered a chocolate chip cake and after a couple of bites, declared that it was the best pudding she had EVER tasted by far! After our meal, John brought out two local brandies which was a nice touch to finish off what was a truly excellent Sunday lunch — very highly recommended! See main advert opposite

Los Romanes

Los Romanes village really established itself when the pantano at Viñuela was built. Suddenly homes that had views of the mountains, stunning as they are! were overlooking a magnificent lake! Thats when tourism in the area really took off! The village is situated 45 kilometres from Malaga and is a short 20 minute drive to the autovia with the coast at Torre del Mar just 19 kilometres away. It may not look as high as some of the mountainous villages but its actually 490 metres above sea level. It’s very easily approached via a winding road from the dam, an almost vertical concrete road from the lakeside restaurants or a more gentle sloping tarmac road from the other end of the lake. You can also reach it quite easily from the Benamargosa to Rio Gordo road by turning up at either Los Gallegos or Bar Ortega and driving across Loma de Lión. Whichever way you decide to approach it from, once there the views are a feast for the eyes. At the beginning of the village coming up from the dam is a lovely restaurant with a superb menu and the most divine views. Known by local as Miguels its real name is Venta El Charco. From this restaurant there are signs for walkers pointing upwards and if you feel energetic it is well worth putting on your hiking shoes and taking a walk up to the top of the hill or even further along the top of the mountain in the direction

of the sea where eventually you will come across the Kalachakra Buddhist Stupa and the Diamondway Buddhist Retreat Centre Karma Guen. Apparently the Buddhist monks scoured the area to find a place with the right energy and this mountain is where they decided to build the Stupa which is said to express the nature of the mind in a perfect way symbolising in body, mind and spirit the enlightened state of Buddha and the ten Bodhisattva levels. It was built in 1994 under the guidance of Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche and he considered it to be the Mother Stupa for the other stupas in the west. It is well worth a visit. Los Romanes village has a Romeria during the first weekend of May where all the locals and tourists alike take a 4 kilometre walk around the lake. There are horse shows, beer tents, barbeques and all types of amusements and other attractions with people camping overnight and enjoying free tapas and refreshments. There is another fiesta in June in the market square and the main mid August festival is the one that provides enormous pans of paella cooked in front of you on the street while you listen to flamenco and other music. Whatever time of year you decide to discover Los Romanes you will find the village charming and the locals friendly. You are spoilt for choice with 4 restaurants all within a short drive or even walking distance depending on your level of fitness! There is Chez Spice situated in La Carpa on the road up to the village from the dam. The aforementioned El Charco in the village itself and the two lakeside restaurants, El Pantano (the pink one) and the Camping Bar (the yellow one).

D-Tox Spa Whilst on my rounds, I walked into The Hair & Beauty Studio in Puente don Manuel and saw Sarah, the owner, sitting down with her feet immersed in what really did look like ‘wee wee’!

but the chemical reaction between the salt water and the current flow. After 10 minutes I looked down and began seeing tiny bits of a film on the surface. This, I was told, was the unwanted waste.

"What is that?" I enquired.

It is a 30 minute process, and as the timer moved round, the water grew darker and the scum got thicker. I could not believe that this was coming out of me!

"It's a detox spa” she replied. “This water was clear when I started and the impurities in my body are coming out through my feet!"

You can see the unwanted toxins that came out of my body!

I fancied some of that, I thought, so I booked myself in. The actual name of it is 'Bio-Energiser D-tox Spa' and it starts the process of re-balancing your body's bio-energy which in turn 'kick starts' the dispersal of unwanted toxins. The result of this will be renewed energy levels — both physical and mental — along with a great feeling of wellbeing. As I dunked my feet in the lovely warm water, which was nice in itself, I just relaxed immediately. After five minutes, the water was turning light golden. This is not actually the impurities,

It was a wonderful, relaxing experience and the day after, I felt I had new levels of energy. I can't put my finger on it but I felt lighter, if that makes sense, and if this is what I was feeling after just one session, then I will definitely be back for more! See advert on page 10

Random Joke :)

A married couple were on holiday in Jamaica. They were touring around the market-place looking at the goods and such, when they passed a small sandal shop. From inside they heard the shopkeeper with a Jamaican accent say, 'You foreigners! Come in. Come into my humble shop.' So the married couple walked in. The Jamaican said to them, 'I 'ave some special sandals I tink you would be interested in. Dey makes you wild at sex.' Well, the wife was really interested in buying the sandals after what the man claimed, but her husband felt he really didn't need them, being the Sex God that he was. The husband asked the man, 'How could sandals make you a sex freak?' The Jamaican replied, 'Just try dem on, Mon.' Well, the husband, after some badgering from his wife, finally gave in and tried them on. As soon as he slipped them onto his feet, he got this wild look in his eyes, something his wife hadn't seen before!! In the blink of an eye, the husband grabbed the Jamaican, bent him over the table, yanked down his pants, ripped down his own boxers, and grabbed a firm hold of the Jamaican's thighs. The Jamaican began screaming: 'You got dem on de wrong feet!'

LT Construction GARAGES AND CARPORTS Building a garage or carport is a large undertaking, requiring plenty of planning and consideration. This is important, as it will help eliminate costly mistakes. Today’s garages need not be just for car storage, but rather an extension of the home. In some cases, the building needs to incorporate multi-functions for a family, rather than just a place to put your car. The first step a builder will need to undertake is the design. Will the structure be attached or free-standing? Free-standing detached garages or carports have become more popular in recent years as they tend to make more of an architectural statement and add value to the property, as well as being a necessity in the blistering Spanish sun.

Not only should the exterior complement the home, the interior needs to incorporate as many functional elements as possible. Our architect can help ensure that the client’s needs are fully met, and that the plans fit within local planning rules. While a garage builder knows that the structure should flow with the home, it does not need to be a mini-version of it. The garage or carport can take architectural elements which enhance the house but still give it its own identity. Contact us at LT Construction to explore your options when it comes to building your perfect garage or carport, and please visit our website at www.ltconstruction.es to see many examples. This time on their return to the UK in September one of their parents was very ill in hospital after a heart attack. He was in the Acute Medical Unit. On the second day his daughter took him a bag of clean pants, drinks and sweets etc... but his daughter emailed us to say that what he was absolutely bowled over by was that she had taken the two most recent Sentinella’s for him. He told her, “I was going to ask you to bring those!” Well Mr Attfield, this is just for you for next time you read our mag!

We wish you a very speedy recovery from all of us all at The Sentinella

restaurant "the garden" near Lake Vinuela from Paul & Viviana “Thank you very much to The Sentinella for writing their view on this restaurant on page 89 of the September edition.” “Sunday Roast Dinner, WOW, fantastic. They dont put signs up like others, saying they are the best at this, they dont need to, as after trying them, like others, we believe they are the best. Not just good at good prices, but excellent at excellent prices, and the third excellent being the service you recieve from entering to leaving. We also, could not believe the choice of 7 starters and 7 deserts, with really good attention/presentation throughout the meal, and then to be offered extra vegatables during the main course (with good choice of meats) was just incredible. Having lived here in Spain for over nine years, and tried many restaurants, I know where we will venture next time we require our Sunday Roast out.. In fact thinking about it, we wont wait until Sunday, but will try their other menus on different days/nights. We are told it’s as enjoyable, and again excellent value. TRUST ME, try them on Sunday. Thank you to "The Garden" for a lovely afternoon. See main advert on page 65

we offer garden design and general maintenance including:

Automatic Irrigation Systems, Drainage, Pest Control Garden and Pool Maintenance Pergolas, Printed Concrete

Book Review - Voices Of Angels By Hannah M. Davis: “Voices Of Angels” is an inspiring and uplifting novel about an ordinary 15-year-old girl with an extraordinary gift – she can ‘see’ when people are about to die. The plot is simple but dramatic: After forecasting the death of her maths teacher, the heroine of the story, Lizzie Fisher, is sent to live with her eccentric grandmother in a ramshackle farm house in the middle of the Andalucian campo. In the searing summer heat, she soon falls in love with gifted but intense local musician, Rafa. All is fine until the fateful day that Lizzie foretells her grandmother’s death. Horrified, she finds herself in a race against time to find out what the gift really means. Will Rafa help her? And can she save her grandmother's life before it's too late? Although this book is aimed at the mid-teen market, don’t be put off. Because if you’re looking for a fast-paced read then look no further! Basically this book has got everything: Heat, lust, the confusion of growing up, family conflict, bullying, death, and the triumph of the spirit.

Local author Hannah M. Davis spent over 10 years living in Competa and writes evocatively of our adopted country. Andalucia comes alive on the page and is the perfect, passionate backdrop to the romance that blazes through the main story. And if you like romance, you’ll love this book because the relationship between Lizzie and Rafa truly sizzles! What I also liked about this book was how she takes a sensitive subject such as death, tackles it compassionately and yet still manages to create an entertaining read. There is also a subtle spiritual side to the novel which explores the idea of life after death and guardian angels which I loved. But be warned! Grab your tissues when you read this book because some scenes are bound to make you cry! So whether you're a young adult or just young at heart – “Voices of Angels” is a profound and entertaining read and I highly recommend it for the girl in your life, or for your own bookshelf or kindle.

Film iew eenie Rev rankenw F

From creative genius Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous. A stop-motion animated film, “Frankenweenie” will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new expe-

rience. In Tim Burton’s “Frankenweenie” young Victor conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences. star rating - ***/*****

Brujas Lounge - Torre Del Mar Winter is approaching fast and it’s time to find all those bars and restaurants which will be helping everyone to continue to enjoy eating out by adding that ‘warming’ touch. With Halloween approaching as I write this, I have witches on my mind as both my girls want ‘witchy’ costumes. So when deciding where to dine one night, we chose Brujas Lounge in the Paseo Maritimo de Poniente (opposite the lighthouse) in Torre del Mar. We had driven past many times and it always seemed to be busy, so on this occasion decided to give it a go. On entering the restaurant we were welcomed and taken to our table. First impressions were very good but little did I know things were about to get even better. The decor was very impressive with a “Bruja” — witchy — theme, modern furniture and seating areas, great green lighting, helpful staff and those all-important patio heaters for this time of year. I loved the feel of the place; each section of the restaurant had different modern furniture and everyone looked to be having their own enjoyable experience. We ordered champagne as we were celebrating a very important and special day. To start, I had the most amazing onion soup with cheesy bread; one of our party had salmon on toast topped with cream cheese and another success was the pil pil. Everything came in good time and tasted great. They have a very extensive menu, all translated into English for those who aren’t so good with the language like me! Brujas’ speciality are the ‘hot stones’, which you cook just how you like it on your own individual hot stone at your table. They are available with meat, fish and seafood. One of our

party members opted for the ‘Argentinean Angus 300g’ and he said: “It was one of the tastiest and most tender steaks I have had in a very long while and the beauty of it was that I could cook it as rare as I wished.” Now because I had soup to start, which is quite filling, I opted for a salad for main as I do not have a huge appetite — but no-one reading this will believe what I am about to write unless they go and order one for themselves. I ordered the ‘Bruja special salad.’ I have never seen a salad as huge — it came beautifully dressed in a mahoosive bowl, and I thought they had got the order wrong because it was sufficient for a party of four adults to enjoy as a starter! My eyes almost popped out of my head: it was packed with breaded chicken, lettuce, cucumber, egg, tomato, cheese, beetroot, walnuts, pine nuts, raisins... and on the menu, it said carrots, too. I thought they’d forgotten it but as I was chomping away, there it was, hiding under my eggs. It was all topped off with a delicious cranberry sauce. For 8.50€ it is just fantastic value, especially if you like salads as much as I do. There is a selection of children’s meals, too — at a very reasonable price. On asking for our bill, we were presented with some very yummy liqueur-filled chocolate cups; it was the perfect end to a perfect evening. There is even regular live entertainment every Friday and Saturday evening from 8pm; Friday’s is ‘Hector’ and Saturday it’s ‘Doble Juego’. Visit the website www.brujaslounge.con or email info@brujaslounge.com for reservations, or call Daniela on 951 258 390 / 616 000 888

Random Jokes Irish Jokes.

Paddy says "No, I tink it's beef"

A bloke at a horse race whispers to Paddy, "Do you want the winner of the next race?" Paddy replies "No tanks, I've only got a small garden."

Joe says to Paddy: "Close your curtains the next time you're making love to your wife. The whole street was watching and laughing at you yesterday." Paddy says: "Well the joke's on them stupid, because I wasn't even at home yesterday."

Paddy and Mick found 3 hand grenades and decided to take them to the police station. Mick "What if one explodes before we get there?" Paddy: "We'll lie and say we only found two!" A coach load of paddys on a mystery tour decided to run a sweepstake to guess where they were going... The driver won £52! Paddy's racing snail was not winning races anymore. So he decided to take it's shell off to reduce it's weight and make him more aerodynamic. It didn't work, if anything it made him more sluggish. Paddy finds a sandwich with two wires sticking out of it. He phones the police and says "Bejaysus I've just found a sandwich dat looks like a bomb." The operator asks, "is it tickin?”

Mick walks into Paddy's barn and catches him dancing naked in front of a tractor. Mick says, "Bejaysus, Paddy, what ya doing?" Paddy says, "Well me and Mary haven't been getting on in the bedroom lately and the therapist recommended I do something sexy to a tractor." Paddy says to Mick “I'm ready for a holiday, only this year I'm going to do it a bit different. 3 years ago I went to Spain and Mary got pregnant. 2 years ago I went to Italy and Mary got pregnant. Last year I went to Majorca and Mary got pregnant." Mick asks, “So what are you going to do this year?" Paddy replies, “I'll take her with me!"

Not Exactly “Military Wives”, But.... CoraXalia, your local International choir, based in Venta Baja, has returned from its summer break with members raring to go! 2012 has seen a period of change for the choir, but, “It has emerged stronger and more focused” says its Founder, Marisa Bell-Young. CoraXalia has its very own Spanish “Gareth Malone” – aka Eusebio Pita – whose talents as a professional tenor and music teacher are driving the choir to even greater achievements, using a selection of music designed to inspire, challenge, but most importantly, to enjoy! CoraXalia has recently performed at a local wedding, and as a result can offer a portfolio of beautiful music to perfectly reflect someone´s very special day. And now, the choir embarks on its Christmas programme, combining traditional carols with the more quirky and amusing Spanish songs.

New members of all nationalities are always welcome to Thursday rehearsals, but the choir would particularly like to attract more men to the ranks of their current wonderful Tenors and Basses (!), to help enrich the choir´s aspirational four-part harmonies. And a final additional bonus for joining CoraXalia? The opportunity to improve your Spanish!! For advice, information, rehearsal details, or performance possibilities, please contact Marisa or Sonia on 630 520 581, or visit the website at www.coraXalia.com

) : a h a h s e k o J A Muslim was sitting next to Paddy on a plane. Paddy ordered a whisky. The stewardess asked the Muslim if he'd like a drink. He replied in disgust "I'd rather be raped by a dozen whores than let liquor touch my lips!" Paddy handed his drink back and said "Me too, I didn't know we had a choice!" -------------------------------------------------------------The Smiths were unable to conceive children and decided to use a surrogate father to start their family. On the day the proxy father was to arrive, Mr Smith kissed his wife goodbye and said, “Well, I’m off now. The man should be here soon.” Half an hour later, just by chance, a door-to-door baby photographer happened to ring the doorbell, hoping to make a sale. “Good morning, Madam,” he said, “I’ve come to...” “Oh, no need to explain,” Mrs. Smith cut in, embarrassed, “I’ve been expecting you.” “Have you really?” said the photographer. “Well, that’s good. Did you know babies are my speciality?” “Well that’s what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a seat..” After a moment she asked, blushing, “Well, where do we start?” “Leave everything to me. I usually try two in the bathtub, one on the couch, and perhaps a couple on the bed. And sometimes the living room floor is fun. You can really spread out there.” “Bathtub, living room floor? No wonder it didn’t work out for Harry and me!” “Well, Madam, none of us can guarantee a good one every time. But if we try several different positions and I shoot from six or seven angles, I’m sure you’ll be pleased with the results.” “My, that’s a lot!”, gasped Mrs Smith.. “Madam, in my line of work a man has to take his time. I’d love to be in and out in five minutes, but I’m sure you’d be disappointed with that.” “Don’t I know it,” said Mrs Smith quietly. The photographer opened his briefcase and pulled out a portfolio of his baby pictures. “This was done on the top of a bus,” he said. “Oh, my God!” Mrs Smith exclaimed, grasping at her throat.

“And these twins turned out exceptionally well when you consider their mother was so difficult to work with.” “She was difficult?” asked Mrs Smith. “Yes, I’m afraid so. I finally had to take her to the park to get the job done right. People were crowding around four and five deep to get a good look” “Four and five deep?” said Mrs Smith, her eyes wide with amazement.. “Yes,” the photographer replied. “And for more than three hours, too. The mother was constantly squealing and yelling - I could hardly concentrate, and when darkness approached I had to rush my shots. Finally, when the squirrels began nibbling on my equipment, I just had to pack it all in.” Mrs Smith leaned forward. “Do you mean they actually chewed on your, uh...equipment?” “It’s true, Ma’am, yes. Well, if you’re ready, I’ll set-up my tripod and we can get to work right away.” “Tripod?” “Oh yes, Ma’am. I need to use a tripod to rest my Canon on. It’s much too big to be held in the hand very long.” Mrs Smith fainted. --------------------------------------------------------------A son asked his mother the following question: 'Mum, why are wedding dresses white?’ The mother looks at her son and replies: 'Son, this shows your friends and relatives that your bride is pure. ' The son thanks his Mum and goes off to double check this with his father. 'Dad why are wedding dresses white?' The father looks at his son in surprise and says: 'Son, all household appliances come in white.' --------------------------------------------------------------Paddy calls Easyjet to book a flight. The operator asks "How many people are flying with you?" Paddy replies "I don't know! It’s your plane!" --------------------------------------------------------------Two Irish couples decided to swap partners for the night. After 3 hours of amazing sex, Paddy says "I wonder how the girls are getting on".

Jokes h a h a :) A young man shopping in a supermarket noticed a little old lady following him around. If he stopped, she stopped. Furthermore she kept staring at him. She finally overtook him at the checkout, and she turned to him and said, 'I hope I haven't made you feel ill at ease, it's just that you look so much like my late son.' He answered, 'That's okay.' 'I know it's silly, but if you'd call out 'Good bye, Mum' as I leave the store, it would make me feel so happy.' She then went through the checkout, and as she was on her way out of the store, the man called out, 'Goodbye, Mum.' The little old lady waved, and smiled back at him. Pleased that he had brought a little sunshine into someone's day, he went to pay for his groceries. 'That comes to â‚Ź121.85,' said the checkout. 'How come so much ... I only bought 5 items..' The clerk replied, 'Yeah, but your Mother said you'd be paying for her things, too.' ------------------------------------------------------------A 737 jet is making its final approach to Coolangatta Airport. The pilot comes on the intercom, 'This is your Captain. We're on our final descent... I want to thank you for flying with us today and hope you enjoy your stay on the Gold Coast.' He forgets to switch off the intercom. Now the whole plane can hear his conversation from the cockpit. The co-pilot can be heard saying to the pilot, 'So, Skip, whatcha got planned while we're on the Gold Coast?' 'Well,' says the skipper, 'First I'm gonna check into the hotel, take a big cr@p....Then I'm gonna take that new stewardess with the huge t!ts out for dinner....I'm gonna wine and dine her, take her back to my room and give her a ride on the baloney pony all night long.' Aghast and amused, everyone on the plane hears this and immediately begin looking up and down the aisle, trying to figure out who this new stewardess is that the pilot's talking about. Meanwhile, the new stewardess is seated at the very back of the plane. She is so embar-

rassed that she starts running toward the cockpit to turn the intercom off. Halfway down the aisle, she trips over an old lady's bag and down she goes. The old lady leans over and says: 'No need to hurry, dear.............He's gotta land the plane and have a s*** first.' ------------------------------------------------------------This is a story about a couple who had been happily married for years. The only friction in their marriage was the husband's habit of farting loudly every morning when he awoke. The noise would wake his wife and the smell would make her eyes water and make her gasp for air. Every morning she would plead with him to stop ripping them off because it was making her sick. He told her he couldn't stop it and that it was perfectly natural. She told him to see a doctor, she was concerned that one day he would blow his guts out. The years went by and he continued to rip them out. Then one Christmas day morning, as she was preparing the turkey for dinner and he was upstairs sound asleep, she looked at the innards, neck, gizzard, liver and all the spare parts and a malicious thought came to her. She took the bowl and went upstairs where her husband was sound asleep and gently pulling the bed covers back, she pulled back the elastic waistband of his underpants and emptied the bowl of turkey guts into his shorts.. Some time later she heard her husband waken with his usual trumpeting which was followed by a blood curdling scream and the sound of frantic foot steps as he ran into the bathroom. About 20 minutes later, her husband came downstairs in his bloodstained underpants with a look of horror on his face. She bit her lip as she asked him what was the matter. He said, 'Honey you were right. All these years you have warned me and i didn't listen to you. Well, you always told me that one day I would end up farting my guts out, and today it finally happened. But by the grace of god, with some vaseline and two fingers. I think I got most of them back in.

s e p o c s Horo by Juanita Banana of www.AbsoluteAxarquia.com ARIES: March 21- April 20 This month you maintain equilibrium whilst enveloping your home in a sense of material wellbeing. You are hoping to travel and are involved in the planning stages. Not a good time to elicit argument. TAURUS: April 21- May 21 November is a positive month for Taureans but think before speaking and don’t get involved in useless debate. Keep an eye on expenditure. GEMINI: May 22- June 21 You are worried about finances this month and find it difficult to rest peacefully. Things will work out on this side but beware of other bad news at home. CANCER: June 22- July 22 The beginning of November will be difficult and your health may be suffering. From the middle of the month financial matters will improve. Support of close friends or family will keep you motivated with happiness from children and help from an old friend indicated. LEO: July 23- August 23 You will feel peace of mind and can expect good news from children. Charity work, or helping those less fortunate than yourself, will be enriching. Your personal standing in the family finds respect while, generally, people will value what you say. VIRGO: August 24- September 22 Beware of betrayal by someone close to you and be careful of marital discord as a consequence. Promotion or a transfer could be offered at work. Not a good time to over indulge in alcoholic beverages.

LIBRA: September 23- October 22 For business people, November is beneficial month. Generally luck is on your side although carelessness could still incur a serious loss. Personal relationships can open new avenues of income. Beware of knee problems. SCORPIO: October 23- November 21 Pack your suitcase for a deserved and planned holiday while your previous hard work starts to pay off. Although relationships with officials improve, giving long term benefits, be careful of someone plotting against you. SAGITTARIUS: November 22- December 21 Learn from previous experience before making the next move in life and beware of someone who may wish harm. Belief in yourself will help attain success. A good time to begin a new work project from home but check with appropriate elders before commencing. CAPRICORN: December 22- January 20 Certain parties will attempt to take advantage of your anger so keep a check on your temper and all will be under control. Any goals you set now, and work towards, will be achieved AQUARIUS: January 21- February 19 Drive carefully and beware of traffic laws. This is a good time for investment, bringing long term benefits, and for putting your plans into action. PISCES: February 20- March 20 You can afford to take time to resolve all but the smaller issues. During the first half of November your social standing increases. In the latter half, beware of discord with close friends or family and listen to other opinions.
