What does it take to succeed for 3 decades in over 10 career experiences? passion? determination? WillpoWer? steve’s secret is a hearty, nutritious breakfast. it Was a long road to the top, but one thing’s for sure...steve anthony Was meant for media.

Steve Anthony:

ThErE is onE Common trait between every successful person - and that’s passion. The great ones that have passed, that surround us and will be, all start and achieve greatness based on something they love to do. Never underestimate the influential power that comes from a person with passion. Passion brings success and success brings happiness - it is in our nature to associate ourselves with positive energy. In fact, start dreaming with passion, be around positive people and set one rule to your decisions - no negativity! What better way to surround yourself with positive energy than to watch it live on TV? To be more specific, there’s no better way to absorb positivity than to watch Steve Anthony live on TV. If you turn on the TV you are looking for entertainment to deliver information. Steve Anthony does just that...he delivers information to his audience while at the same time engaging you in laughter while listening to his early morning jokes. Top Choice Magazine had the opportunity to interview Steve Anthony co-host of the CP24 Breakfast as he shares the highlights of his life that led him to where he stands today. To a person with so much life and so much energy being in front of a camera with an audience of thousands may seem like a walk in the park. Many individuals hold back on their secret to their vigorous and active personality but not Steve. “It all comes from a hearty, nutritious breakfast every morning, Mmmm Mmmm good!”, he spills his beans to our readers. Okay, Okay, let’s be honest, a morning breakfast might not be his entire secret; I mean, experience might have something to do with it!

made For media Steve Anthony

It all started a little differently compared to how it presently is - but all with one purpose - to be heard. Steve’s first audience were those who were part of his deejaying days - He supported his brother’s radio show on campus and “it was all about how I could thrust my musical taste on everyone”, he shares with Top Choice. His audience loved it, but to Steve “that wasn’t enough, because now the thoughts swimming around in the deep recesses of my brain had to be heard by others as well - it’s nice to have an audience”. So why not extend his passion and move forward with it. Steve began to study radio, television and film at John Abbott CEGEP in Montreal’s West Island, and ran the radio station while he was there, which was, with no surprise “interrupted by - tada - three job offers.” Having to choose one among the three, Steve decided to experience the one in Timmins, Ontario at CKGB as drive-home announcer and music director. Shortly after his first few job offers other opportunities continued to “interrupt” the

one previous to it. In a span of three decades Steve Anthony became a man with over 10 career experiences listed on his resume. Finally, his love for broadcasting paid off as he explored his passion for television to the fullest. Steve is now part of what he refers to as “the fantabulous CP24 Breakfast” and has been for the past three years. Of course everyone has a starting point. For Steve, when he landed a job at CP24, he began with Chopper 24 doing traffic reporting and kibitzing from 1,000 feet above the ground, where shortly after “I was asked to co-host with Melissa Grelo in the CP24 newsroom.” Steve shares his enthusiasm and explains that “I was very excited to be part of an immensely credible news organization that Toronto immediately turned to for their information. I was able to speak about important subjects, or inane ones, voice opinions and objections, all of which I could do in other incarnations, but never from the starting position of an admired news outlet like CP24”, Steve continues. Now, as fun as that sounds every job requires a sense of responsibility. Steve’s responsibilities classify above normal. In his own words, “Wake up, know everything about everything, talk about everything with another person who is supposed to know everything, make fun of most everything and make people laugh at most everything, interview interesting people about everything, or at least some things, thank everyone for everything they have done that day. Rinse and repeat”. That kind of lifestyle might take some time to get used to, don’t you think? Expectations will come from a career whether you have the least or most responsibilities required from the company. How

From personal experience, searching for an outfit in the morning before work almost feels like a second job. If you are constantly surrounded by individuals where looking fashionable and professional is necessary, finding the right outfit can be tricky. Not to worry, here are some guidelines I use to create outfits that are work appropriate without the headaches. Let’s focus on the actual clothing. When it is strictly about the material make sure to remember only TWO specific points: fit and presentation. NO matter what the requirements of your dress code are, fit is very important. You must make sure that everything you wear fits you properly - wear the right size! Believe me, clothes that are too tight or too loose will not do you any good, this goes for any size or shape of body! One secret that’s always helped me is what I call “wearing before leaving”. Before leaving home I like to move around and sit in the outfit I plan to wear that day - if it fits properly and you are comfortable, you have a winner. In addition to fit and comfort, you must question if your outfit is too revealing. There shouldn’t be too much cleavage or leg showing; a little has never hurt but a lot will make others lose focus and does not really fit the “working in an office” atmosphere. In addition to that, make sure to wear the proper undergarments. Visible bra straps and panty lines are definitely not good for the image of any company. After fit, always remember to pay attention to your presentation! It is very easy to fail here, because we all have our personal favourite clothes. These items might hold a lot of memories, but anything you wear, and I mean anything, should be clean and without damage, no matter how much you like it. Keep colours, textures and patterns simple. It’s always good to include some but not too much. Certain colours do not get along and you should know that mixing different patterns is a big no-no. Head-to-toe

8

of anything is always inappropriate. Sequins, studs, and anything that shines can be worn at a workplace, don’t get me wrong, but only in SMALL amounts, please do not over do it! If one piece in an outfit stands out, in relation to colour or texture, then keep the rest of the outfit quiet, calm and supportive of the main piece. Now, although those two tips are very important, your outfit is not quite complete. You should never leave your house without some sort of accessory. In fact, have fun with it; express yourself through your accessories. When you’re dealing with office attire the dress code is easier to work with, so a nice scarf and a few pieces of jewelry will really benefit your work wardrobe. Oh and here’s something most of us never take into consideration…noise. Is your outfit noisy? You might be working close to some of your coworkers, and bangle or cuff bracelets can be noisy. Be respectful; don’t let your fashion statements cause someone to have a migraine. You want your image to spread positive energy not ruin someone’s day Now we come to my favourite part of an outfit shoes! They are definitely another

issue to consider. Most shoes are acceptable, but understand, if you wear them to the club or the gym, you probably shouldn’t be wearing it to the office. Also, if you are planning to show a little bit of leg, be sure to take into consideration your company’s policies on stockings. If they are not required, and you choose to go bare-legged, ladies do us all a favour, take care of your legs - hair removal, lotion, a little bit of tan maybe - you decide! Look good, image is important! You spend a lot of your time with your coworkers, some more than others. It wouldn’t hurt to always look your best every day. Always remember, if for some reason you doubt your outfit it probably isn’t suitable for work. Leave it, do whatever you want with it, but do not wear it! “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.” My final tip to ensure you develop and maintain a stylish and professional image is to constantly believe that each and every day you are going to have an important meeting. Not only will this way of thinking ensure you always leave a good impression of yourself and your company, it might also become reality.

Veronika London It is tempting to compare actress Veronika London with other contemporary bombshells. After all, Maxim magazine boldly christened her “The Megan Fox” of Canada in a sultry photo spread that set hearts and imaginations ablaze. But the Mexican-born beauty, raised in Canada, is charting a course all her own. Her provocative performances on HBO’s LINGERIE and Showtime’s BODY LANGUAGE garnered her an instant following and put the world on notice that London’s appeal was much more than skin deep – she had acting chops and wasn’t afraid to use them. London’s career has also blossomed into the Spanish-language world in the films MEET MY WATER

BUFFALO and the dark comedy short film THE ELUSIVE MAN. The latter garnered several festival awards including the “Action on Film Award” at the Action on Film International Film Festival. London is drawn to character-driven roles that offer what she calls “conflicting rawness.” Now, London is poised for a starturn performance as the title character

in Nadeem Soumah’s gritty feature film S E A RC H I N G F OR A N G E L S o p p o site Vivica A. Fox (KILL BILL, INDEPENDENCE DAY). London plays a heroin-addicted prostitute who is discovered beaten in the street with no memory of her past. Refusing to trade on her looks, London fearlessly sheds the trappings that made her a Canadian sex symbol, and creates a riveting portrait of a young woman at serious risk. The result is a performance that is spellbinding in its power and truth. London was born in Mexico City and raised in Toronto. Currently, she divides her time in Toronto and Los Angeles. Along with acting, London is a popular host, most recently as the host of TORO TV’s Damage Control.

You know what? It is events like the Top Choice Magazine Winter 2012 Launch Party that really prove how a little effort towards your personal and business success can go a long way. I could remind you again about the importance of networking and how relationship-building is a necessity for any business (especially in today’s sociallycharged world) but you are probably sick of hearing it by now. This stuff seems complicated, especially if you have never attended networking events or had a bad experience while attending one. But being involved in magazine launches has taught me that the most important thing is to just get out there; put yourself in a room full of successful people, be honest, be open and everything else just happens naturally.

Spring 2012

Hello everyone. Spring is among us demonstrating nature as the perfect example of “balance” needed in our lives; constantly changing and adapting to survive! So my message to my loyal readers is that if you want your business to persevere through the new and modern ways of doing business you must change your thoughts and adapt to this fast-paced, ever-changing business world. The flowers are growing, the leaves are green and its unreal how many people are affected with this transformation that constantly surrounds us. What I have noticed is that the number of people “willing” it is growing by night; but the number of people actually “applying” it is decreasing by day, which leads me to conclude that we need more action and less opinions. You may be asking what this all means? After a thorough process of research and analysis I was not surprised to find out that globalization is influencing so much the way we think, act and live. The internet has opened large avenues in our thought processes. But if one is not properly prepared to filter the information received by our brain one can easily send anyone directly to the “willing list“. You can compare this to putting a loaded gun in the hands of a baby. The tendency for humans to compare themselves with others is creating a huge impact on how things really work, much like a snowball that keeps rolling…if it’s not re-directed properly it can damage an entire generation! It’s not about age anymore. It’s about what information you’re reading, receiving, assimilating, processing and applying. Nowadays everyone has easy access to powerful information. But how we use it is what differentiates the successful from the frustrated. As a result, we consistently see the “weak” wanting to compare themselves with the “strong”, assuming they didn’t suffer or give up anything to become strong! The teenagers compare themselves with adults, assuming they have the same responsibilities. The followers compare themselves with the leaders assuming their willingness is enough to become a leader. For example, I trained in martial arts for the past 25 years and never dared compare myself with my Master! Interestingly enough, what I apply today in my business is exactly what I have learned in the martial arts lessons and tournaments…becoming whole and complete. “Perfectionism is a neurosis. It is an illness. And the more you try to become perfect, the more frustrated you will become. The goal of perfection has led the whole of humanity towards madness.” – lazyyogi.tumblr.com

What you may be trying to perfect most likely won’t be needed tomorrow; however what most definitely will be needed tomorrow is your ability to change and adapt. I often hear expressions such as “I wanna be like...” or “I wanna be beautiful/perfect just like...”. This is a classic example of misguided priorities deeply rooted from when a child, especially in developed countries like Canada and USA, has spent too much time in the cyber world instead the real world! As a result, we have simplistic values like humility being substituted with “I am entitled to” or “I am too good for that type of job”. Soon enough we will have a nation full of unemployed and over-qualified people that become emotional when shown they are dreaming and need to be awakened. So what can we do? Change is the answer and, oddly enough, the weak teen or aimless follower, anyone for that matter, can do it. Start by reducing the time you spend online following certain websites; do the same for your kids or loved ones. Have dinner together with those you care about as much as possible. Talk more, type less! Get up in the morning with a purpose! Smile and hug often! Feel like you’re part of your work place; realise how important your job is without others telling you. Shake hands with a co-worker; kiss your family! All this will show you what is missing… the basic priority in life: love yourself and those who deserve your care and never forget to let yourself be loved. “Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t.” – Steve Maraboli

The reason why Top Choice Magazine is different from the rest is because inside you will only find people that learn how to adapt, change and keep pressing on to reach what in life is a key priority: being happy. They find happiness in successful business and family. The best way to succeed is to have specific Intent, a clear Vision, a plan of Action, and the ability to maintain Clarity. Those are the Four Pillars of Success. It never fails! I hope this message reaches your heart and change starts with you. Smile!

Food

Dinner with Family Monica Couto Modern life has become very demanding upon the new generation and it’s slowly working its way to the Top. We are currently involved in so many projects which we feel are important that we are forgetting the biggest project in our lives: Our Family. I am outraged by families who eat their dinner with their plate in hand watching TV.

Dinner with the family is so important. It’s in that exact moment, when we sit down for dinner, that we take time to listen to each other. It’s in that moment that I open my eyes to things that are happening in the lives of my children and my loved ones. It’s at that very moment that I discover the reality of their news. That’s when I open my heart to know them better.

There are so many problems in families that could be avoided or resolved if the members of these families could just listen. In families where children are constantly growing a united dinner becomes increasingly difficult, but creating good habits from when they are small is crucial. Bring your kids together, get them a bit more involved in the kitchen; perhaps they may start off by simply washing the vegetables or chopping them. This creates a sense of unity and accomplishment. Instead of preparing dinner for your kids, prepare it with them and enjoy their reaction :)

Stuffed Chicken Breast A’la Monica Ingredients:

Instructions:

• 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast • 200g firm goat’s cheese, such as Crottin de Chavignol • 2 tsp fresh thyme leaves, plus 4-6 sprigs • 8 slices of streaky bacon , thinly sliced • 4 zucchini, thinly sliced • 2-4 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for drizzling • 500g vine tomatoes, thinly sliced Serves 4

10

1.

Heat oven to 375°F. Split the chicken breasts almost in half from one long side and open them out like a book. Hit them out a little with a rolling pin to flatten them. Season on all sides. Put half the goat’s cheese on each piece of chicken and sprinkle with the thyme leaves. Fold the chicken over to enclose the cheese, and then wrap each one in two slices of bacon.

2.

Lightly oil a shallow gratin dish then arrange overlapping rows of zucchini and tomatoes over the base. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper and thyme sprigs. Sit the chicken on top.

3.

Bake for 40-45 minutes until the bacon is crisp and golden and the zucchini are tender. Serve straight from the dish with new potatoes or good bread. Bon appétit

Tip: For a quick, light meal, serve with your favourite salad (I like mixed greens with cherry tomatoes, tossed in olive oil and vinegar). If you are feeling hungrier, serve with steamed asparagus and brown rice.

“People seem to be addicted to our events, they attend once and keep showing up.” – Monica Couto Maybe you have tried networking before and found yourself in a room full of people who share a closer resemblance to a zombie than a professional. The highlight of your night is scraping cheese off a platter as you look around and find absolutely nothing of interest. You creep silently to the exit as to not attract any attention, promising yourself to never waste your time on “cheesey” networking ever again. Our publisher, David Silvestre, and Managing Editor, Monica Couto, have been to countless events just like this and they promised to never, ever, put anyone through an experience that can only be described as torture. Event she also managed to have a camera follow her around all night to capture her interactions with attendees. How does she do it? Top Choice Magazine has never had any problems getting people together, but the response for the Winter 2012 issue was much greater than expected. It can be tricky to get people out on a Friday evening, but guests would not be disappointed. Forget the trays of crusty cheeses. This party was packed to the brim with great food, drinks, music and, of course, people. Food and drink provided by Steam Whistle, Phillipe Dandurand Wines, Tokaji Wine, Corby Distilleries, Bairrada and The Big Cannoli complemented Trio Restaurant’s fresh assortment of chef-prepared appetizers. Fotografia Boutique was on hand to capture photos of guests as they enjoyed the night; we don’t need to complement the studio’s work...as you can see the photos turned out great. The atmosphere was set by the brilliance and charm of violinist G Pinto, whose blend of contemporary and classical music provided a vivid background for the entire evening. We also had the pleasure to interview some guests on camera during the night and the feedback was pretty mutual that the event had a real great energy throughout. I am sure that our next launch will be a tremendous success. On behalf of the team, I hope you drop by to meet some new friends or connect with some old ones and if you don’t manage to do either, at least have a great time! If we don’t see you there, there’s always next time, which will be great too!

“Must Be Nice” A look at why this cliché response to another’s success or achievement might actually stand in the way of your own success. David Silvestre Lately I have been greeted with the comment “It Must be Nice David!!!” Wondering why, I questioned myself and the image I portray. But after looking into it and asking others if they were ever faced with that same comment I realized I wasn’t alone! “Must be nice”, they say, when I’m seen driving a Maserati, travelling often, dining out, giving interviews on TV or radio, always being IN the spotlight and getting all the attention from all kinds of beautiful people. What is really remarkable is how rarely anyone says congratulations David for all the hard work and wise plan you’ve been developing for over a decade. But don’t get me wrong...I am not complaining at all because, after all, it is really nice to enjoy what one

20

works so hard for! I have never taken my eyes off of my goals and I don’t stop to look to the side and compare myself to others. After realizing that I was not the only one hearing that comment I started to further investigate what the source of this comment was. Without surprise and as expected, all my research had led to individuals with negative emotions built within, creating the famous “Victim Mindset”. This is the worst type of attitude that you can have when trying to get ahead in life. As you read this article I’m probably enjoying myself in the Azores, the 9 islands of Portugal. It must be nice, right? Your friend Francesca graduated from college without any debt. Must be nice, right? Your co-worker Sandy left the place of

employment to go work for herself. It must be nice, right? Here you are working your butt off and having no fun. Why do others have it so much better than you? It must be nice, right? Are the previous three examples proof that things are just nicer for other people while you struggle? Are you getting screwed over? Not exactly. Nothing is ever as nice or easy as it seems. There are two possible scenarios that are occurring when someone appears to have it easier or better than you financially: 1. 2.

The person is putting everything on their credit card. The person is working their butt off when you’re not around.

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” – Oprah I want to help you avoid the “it must be nice” syndrome that so many of us are guilty of at some point:

Take an honest look at your situation. What’s your situation? Is it really so tough? Are you getting adequate sleep? Are you sleeping too much? Where am I going with this? You need to take an honest look at your own situation before you try to envy anyone else. I had a friend tell me it must be nice to drive such an exotic car. What he failed

22

Spring 2012

to realize was that until I opened my own business I worked 10 years with 1 full-time and 2 part-time jobs, lost out on sleep, was always tired, and lost out on family time. It sucked at the time; I did miss out on a lot by always working hard. Nobody considers that aspect of my own success.

Deal with your issues as they come. All issues can be dealt with. The problem is that we put them off and let them get bigger than they need to be. I believe in dealing with small issues as they happen. This way you get it over with and don’t need to stress about it. When it comes to bigger problems I always believe in handling them with small steps. I find that a small step is much more beneficial than no step at all.

How hard are you working? Are you really working hard? I was never envious of anyone that had achieved

greater success than me. I never thought that they were luckier than me or perhaps they were given something. Nobody is given anything. You have to take everything. You have to work for everything. I was never jealous of rich people because I always understood that they work harder and smarter than me. If you take anything from my research I want it to be this: Be realistic. If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. Don’t complain. Oprah said “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” Do I think that others have it better than you? Maybe some do and some don’t. When it comes down to it we all have the same 24 hours within the same solar system; we are all judged under the same governing laws. With the Internet we have access to the same resources. It’s just not fair to assume that someone has it better than you.

The Benefits of Business Portraits It is becoming incresingly more likely that a potential client will see your photo online before they ever meet you in person. What is your portrait saying about you? Written and Photographed by Maggie Habieda Nowakowski, Owner of Fotografia Boutique Business portraits should be a part of every professional’s arsenal of communication tools, and a professional portrait will convey positive messages about you and your abilities. But only a seasoned photographer will be able to execute a professional image to represent you and your company properly, which is important because “your headshot is part of your brand,” says Maggie Habieda Nowakowski, owner of Oakville portrait studio Fotografia Boutique. “Be sure it is sending a message compatible with your professionalism.” Business portraits can be used for online profiles and professional networking sites, meaning that your business portrait is now accessible by thousands more people than

“Your headshot is part of your brand” ever before. If that photograph is unflattering or amateurish, then so too will be the first impression your image creates. On top of social networking sites, business portraits are also being used to decorate office spaces, and to tell the story of how a company has grown over the years. A professionally shot portrait will ensure that employers, clients, and colleagues recognize your place in company history as an optimistic and productive time. At Fotografia Boutique, every client is treated like family, and Maggie personally takes the time to understand the professional message every client wants to convey with his or her portrait. As a trained artist and photographer, she has the skill, experience, and creativity necessary to highlight your desired qualities, and the technical capacity to turn your business portrait into a fine art masterpiece that will leave a positive and lasting impression on everyone.

Non-Surgical Facial Enhancement of the New Millenium A collection of articles by Dr. Nino Kuzmar, Facial Cosmetic Physician Dr. Nino Kuzmar is the medical director of the highly successful St. Clair Cosmetic & Laser Clinic and has developed into one of Toronto’s top minimally invasive facial enhancement specialists, highly sought after for his natural rejuvenative results. continue to the articles

Facial Enhancement of the New Millenium by St. Clair Cosmetic & Laser Clinic

Facial Bioplasty Described by many as the “Plastic Surgery of the new millennium”, Facial Bioplasty is a nonsurgical, minimally invasive technique involving the implantation of biomaterials into the deep anatomical planes of the face. The approach of a well-trained, experienced Facial Bioplasty physician or surgeon goes well beyond merely filling lines with dermal filler products. Dr. Nino Kuzmar We view the ageing face as a dynamic entity undergoing progressive physiological change at the deep dermal and subcutaneous tissue level best described as a combination of ”Deflation, Descent and Medial Rotation”…. deflating, dropping and turning inward if you will. We see beyond the surface and focus our attention on what needs to be corrected or re-established in this deep tissue. We know that in the ageing face, most lines, folds and grooves are mere

surface manifestations of an overall deeper volume loss problem. Using mainly biocompatible, biodegradable Hyaluronic Acid based (“non-permanent”) products with varying degrees of viscoelasticity (“thickness”), we delicately rebuild the entire face from the inside out maintaining the highest levels of appreciation for subtlety and nuance …… true non-surgical facial sculpting. Topical or local anaesthesia is used to ensure

comfort. The product is delivered through a combination of longer, wider bore needles and/or micro cannulas with rounded tips which avoid damage to blood vessels and nerves. Typically, when doing a “mid plus lower facial bioplasty lift”, I use anywhere between 4cc to 8cc of product. When I evaluate a client’s face, I always step back first to get an overall impression of the degree of volume loss. Once I have a sense of the scope of the concern, I then move forward and shift my gaze over the specific areas in need of volumizing. I map out my plan directly on the face with a make-up pencil showing the patient what is being done, why it is being done and what they can expect as far as the results. The procedure itself from topical anaesthesia, injections to final arnica gel massage and cold packs takes less than one hour. The results are immediate, long lasting and patients are often moved by just how incredibly natural and refreshed they look. It was as if they had been given another chance at a more youthful time of their life. This high degree of patient satisfaction coupled with the true artistry component has really instilled in me a sense of passion for Facial Bioplasty.

The Two Stage EVOLASTIN™ Minilift From time to time, innovative thinking can produce the experience of pure excitement from an idea, concept or procedure so good that it becomes difficult to contain oneself. Dr. Nino Kuzmar I, my friends, have found myself in such a predicament. For the greater part of one year, I have spent countless hours pondering and developing a treatment protocol and technique that I feel will represent the most effective intervention in the pursuit of the Holy Grail of Aesthetic medicine, the elusive NonSurgical Facelift. Yes, but a truly serious option, one with serious results comparable to facelift surgery. One characterized by more than mere retraction of tissue, but

2 months approached from a more natural aesthetically sensitive perspective. One that makes perfect sense by addressing the actual deep structural as well as textural changes that occur in the ageing face. One that ultimately produces natural as well as lasting results. My personal experience with the revolutionary new ePRIME deep dermal volumizing technology along with the latest advances in dermal filler technology and technique for the mid to lower face has really inspired my confidence in the pursuit of this goal. About one year ago, the new ePRIME technology from Syneron-Candela became a personal obsession. The revolutionary injectable RF (radio frequency) delivery system with combined real-time temperature and impedance feedback was unique to any existing current technology in the global market. The prospect of creating robust amounts of new deep dermal supportive collagen, hyaluronic acid and for the first time histologically proven elastin was fascinating. At the same time that I was observing the endless possibilities with my new technology, I was refining my personal protocols in the area of advanced dermal filler lifting techniques in the mid to lower face. Through substantial personal clinical experience, I found as great as highly viscoelastic HA dermal filler was, if the deep dermal support matrix was “too lax or not thick enough”, it would limit the success of the final result ... a nice vs. wow result ... I personally shoot for wow.

Then I remembered my father, who was a general contractor, laying tiles in the kitchen. It was important to him that he had a good supportive metal mesh upon which to work. Then he would fill with concrete and lay the tiles down perfectly. It was apparent that this component of the work was critical in getting that beautiful and smooth appearance to the floor. Then it dawned on me ... ePRIME was going to give me the “mesh” that I needed to support and maximize the dermal filler lifting effect I could achieve especially in the ageing lower face of the 50+ year old patient. So I started adding my dermal filler lifting protocol at about week 10-12 in my ePRIME/EVOLASTIN clients. And guess what? ... Wow was the only thing I could say ... The lift especially in the lower face was beyond what could have been expected with dermal filler alone. This combined approach was now effectively producing 50-60% or more of the result compared to surgical intervention. I have since continued to refine the finer details of this protocol and can confidently say that this far less expensive, minimally invasive intervention represents a real option for those patients unwilling to go under the knife but want the best possible non-surgical results in the least number of sittings. As I have already alluded to in previously published magazine articles…the new era of minimally invasive facial enhancement has truly begun.

“SoftLift” as done by Dr. Kuzmar “SoftLift” is a descriptive term for an injectable procedure combining the use of Botox® Cosmetic in the upper face and Dermal Filler in the mid to lower face. Dr. Nino Kuzmar “SoftLift” itself is essentially a general term, it’s interpretation in practice, much like art, varies from one practitioner to another. My technical experience with injectables over the years has really evolved along the creative themes of “less is more” and “beauty being found in the balance and symmetry of features”. As such, my personal approach for this combined single sitting procedure: first

30

Spring 2012

utilizes Botox in the upper face for the absolute and definative correction of frown lines; next, the subtle softening of forehead lines still allowing for some natural expression; followed by only a very gentle lift of the lateral brow; and finally, only a partial reduction of the muscular contracture in the crow’s feet area allowing for pleasant but not overwhelming smile lines. Moving then to the mid face region with dermal filler, this is an area where all of

us experience some level of progressive volume loss. Here, it is very important to augment the lateral cheek area with a sufficiently adequate volume of product so as to re-establish and lift the mid face. It is this part of the procedure, when done just right, that the greatest visual impact and rejuvenative effect is made. The dermal filler work to follow will focus primarily on softening the remaining deeper folds seen in the mid to lower face. Once all the preceeding critical areas have been addressed, then depending on the individual patient needs, fine tuning with additional dermal filler can be used for: enhancing the fullness of lips; further elevation of the brow if needed; softening of the undereye hollows; and an area of special interest for me - contouring of the jawline/prejowl and chin. In the final analysis and after countless injectable procedures, I feel the “SoftLift” approach to facial rejuvenation still remains the most effective and satisfying non-surgical intervention for both patients and myself.

The New Era of Minimally Invasive Facial Enhancement Has Begun Surgical vs non-surgical, ablative vs nonablative…confused yet? Now how about invasive vs minimally-invasive? Relax, it’s all good news for the cosmetic consumer. Dr. Nino Kuzmar

The dynamic field of Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medicine coupled with a seemingly endless demand for cosmetic services is fuelling an arms race type of technological escalation resulting in the development and commercialization of some incredible new products in the area of facial enhancement.

ePrime Non-Surgical Facelift The phrase “non-surgical facelift” has been bandied around so much by so many ineffective technologies over the years that the term itself has almost lost its relevance.

Almost… Enter the revolutionary new “minimally invasive” ePrime system from the recently merged powerhouse of Syneron-Candela. This device is absolutely ground-breaking. It is in essence a highly sophisticated system for the consistent and unimpeded delivery of RF energy to the deep dermal tissue where it is most needed in order to dramatically improve skin laxity.

Wow…and how do you say it can do that? Well, the skin is injected with a matrix of tiny needles directly into the deep dermis bypassing the more superficial epidermis and upper dermal layers. These needles have real time temperature and impedance monitors that ensure the consistent delivery of the collagen and elastin stimulating energy with each and every application.

www.TopChoiceMagazine.com

The results achieved with this device are so impressive that they are not compared with other laser or energy based technologies but rather with the gold standard itself, surgical facelift.

Yes, you read right! Results are comparable to a surgical facelift. Dr. Alexiades, cosmetic dermatologist and Yale associate professor, recently published a peer reviewed clinical comparison of ePrime results and surgical lower facelift procedure examining the prejowl, jawline and upper neck regions. It was determined that on average, ePrime delivered 37% of the improvement achieved with a surgical facelift procedure. That result does not in and of itself replace surgery as the best treatment option for this indication, but it does highlight how far along the spectrum of non-surgical options this technology has come. This treatment is very much for the man or woman who is starting to see early signs of sagging tissue in the pre-jowl and jawline region and are not considering surgery as an option that’s right for them. After researching the clinical studies, meeting the development team, and personally being trained on this technology by Dr. James Newman , Facial Plastic Surgeon and Stanford Associate Professor, I was so impressed that I had to move forward and offer this remarkable treatment to my own patients immediately. For my practice, the new era of minimally invasive facial enhancement has begun.

Facial Enhancement That’s Right For You Dr. Nino Kuzmar

In this age of information overload and sleek marketing, finding out what facial cosmetic procedure is right for you can seem like a daunting task. First, one must ask the question, what type of result am I looking to achieve? If subtle enhancement is the goal, then a non-invasive approach would be appropriate. If significant transformation with elimination of substantial sagging tissue is your objective then the skilled hands of an experienced facial plastic surgeon may be your best option. In the non-invasive realm, there simply is no comparison to the results achieved 32

after through the combination of Botox Cosmetic, dermal filler and fractional laser technology. It is natural for most people to feel apprehensive about the idea of having injections or laser devices applied to their face. However, when in the hands of well qualified and experienced practitioners that approach their work with a sense of artistry and pride, there really is little to fear. And the results are worth it!!! Botox Cosmetic injection is a great procedure for reducing that tired and often intense look we get from forehead and frown lines, not to mention the agedness associated with “crow’s feet. Hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers such as Teosyal, Juvederm and Restylane work remarkably well in gently restoring volume loss in the cheek and mid-face region as well as enhancing the fullness of lips. Non-ablative fractional laser resurfacing devices like the Cynosure Affirm Multiplex are both safe and highly effective in improving the overall textural quality of sun-damaged skin by reducing pore size, fine lines, uneven pigmentation as well as skin tightening. The level of collagen remodelling attained with the Affirm laser is not only useful in anti-aging but has also helped many of my acne scar patients achieve great improvement. These days, the relative affordability of these technologies when compared to more invasive procedures has really made facial enhancement and rejuvenation attainable for many more people. And why not? When in the right hands, they produce great results safely, with little or no downtime and certainly need not be feared. www.TopChoiceMagazine.com

Nature vs Technology What do a beach and a microchip have in common? A whole lot more than you might think. Technology, a part of nature, not a replacement. Marco Luccisano, Founder of 1 Stop PC Solutions

and. Every tropical paradise and sun-laden beach is drizzled with nature’s white crystal-like grain. Considered a natural soothing remedy (imagine walking barefoot along a warm sunny beach), sand has useable properties that take it beyond what nature had intended. In our never-ending quest to evolve from the dark ages into whatever era the future may hold for us, partly due to our own doing and direction, we have tapped into nature’s hidden secrets. By doing so, we’ve unraveled some of life’s mysteries;

Marketing subsequently, we have also unearthed “natural technologies” that we never could have imagined existed or, maybe worse yet, how nature could ultimately affect us. Technology as we know it today is due mostly in part to the invention of the microchip. It gave way to faster processing time in a much smaller working environment. Take, for example, today’s modern microprocessor powering a 4.5” smart phone. As impressive as it sounds, it all started with nature’s generous contribution...sand. In multi-billion dollar facilities, sand is melted and refined to produce 99.9999% pure single-crystal silicon. This basic element is the building block of all technology we see and use today. Aside from the many personal reasons we use computing power, we also attempt to use our newfound technology to conquer nature, although for the most part this proves to be an exercise in futility. We can’t control the weather with a computer, nor can we stop or slow time. We can, however, co-operate with the natural progression of elements and time...if you can’t beat them, join them. Over recent years, we’ve seen our planet being ravaged by killer tsunamis, hurricanes, and earthquakes. While we had no chance whatsoever to prevent the devastation and outcome, we were well-equipped to predict the arrival of

Earth’s crystal beaches have given rise to modern technology. Technology, in turn, has given way to nature’s mysterious paths of life, allowing our discovery and development to grow and flourish. nature’s fury. Although thousands lost their lives, the early warning signs saved thousands or possibly millions more. One of the most recent events that prominently displayed nature’s reigning rule over our use of technology happened March 6, 2012. During the early morning hours, a larger than normal solar flare erupted approximately 150,000,000 kilometres away, give or take a few million kilometres depending on the time of year. Within a day or two, communications on earth was disrupted, and we were helpless in fending off this type of natural attack.

Fortunately, the extent of trouble caused by this eruption was suffering without a cell phone signal for a few brief moments, only in some affected areas of the globe. As inconsequential as that may sound, this event may be just one of many future episodes we’ll have no choice but to endure and prepare for much more paramount disaster. Megatons of radiation are emitted during a flare, affecting everything under the sun...no pun intended. Putting this into perspective, enough radiation from a solar flare will cripple long-range telecommunications, like radar. Bringing it closer to home, this outage could compromise the path of the airplane you’re traveling in to get to your well-deserved vacation hotspot. I think it’s best not to consider the tragic outcome and hope for the best. In a nutshell, we are no match for nature and all it has in store for us. However, we can embrace our gift of knowledge and utilize it to our fullest capacity to harmonize with nature’s path of evolution and reformation. Earth’s crystal beaches have given rise to modern technology. Technology, in turn, has given way to nature’s mysterious paths of life, allowing our discovery and development to grow and flourish. Nature versus Technology...no contest. Nature and Technology...balance of life.

Give Them Something to Talk About People are using social media to flirt with your business; here’s what to do to avoid blowing the first date. Michael FIllier Trends, fads, buzzwords…they come and go faster than a weekend marriage and divorce in Vegas. But sometimes they stick around, especially if there is money to be made. Radio. Television. Newspapers. Magazines. These have been the staple platforms for marketing a business and yet they all originated as outlandish ideas that were met with much skepticism. Not too long ago websites and email were in a similar boat, and yet today most businesses have a website and use email in their daily operations (or at least they should…I mean, I can give you a whole list of reasons why and maybe I will in my next article). Widespread adoption of websites and email in our daily lives primed us all for the next trend, and easily the most powerful influence technology has ever had on us, social media.

Sure you can open a page and start talking good about yourself, but this just becomes another form of advertising. Also, it’s just shameless selfpromotion. Shame on you. You can’t just blast information at your potential customers. You need to actually give the people something to talk about, a good reason for them to speak favourably about you. Getting started may seem like a challenge, but I cannot tell you how relieved our own clients at Top Choice Media become when they discover that managing social media can be easy, either by having us train their staff or by allowing us to manage it completely on their behalf. Just as each business is different so are the approaches to building an audience. If you think about some of your own favourite businesses and brands a few household names we all know and recognize will come to mind. Think Coca-cola, McDonald’s, Kraft, etc. A quick lookup on their social media profiles will prove how loyal their customers are to the brands they love. Reaching numbers like these major brands is not realistic for most businesses; but we don’t need to engage millions of people, we just need to get involved with our current customers and they will help us generate business by influencing their friends and family. This type of influence is quickly overtaking all other forms of advertising as people can get advice from people they already know. No advertisement can stack up to that! They view social media as an open forum for blessings and complaints alike. network that they love, you may actually win the customer back, or at least you will have demonstrated your commitment to customer satisfaction. Referrals, aka “word-of-mouth”, have always been considered the most effective way to get new customers. But think how slow a process it is; how long do you think it would take someone to actually speak to all their friends and family about the incredible experience they had with your company? Today it only takes seconds.

Made For Media

Feature

What does it take to succeed for 3 decades in over 10 career experiences? Passion? Determination? Willpower? Steve’s secret is a hearty, nutritious breakfast. It was a long road to the top, but one thing’s for sure...Steve Anthony was meant for media. Francesca Filippelli There is one common trait between every successful person - and that’s passion. Okay, Okay, let’s be honest, a morning breakfast might not be his entire secret; I mean, experience might have something to do with it!

www.TopChoiceMagazine.com

How

Feature you approach the pressure of success is what matters and what will ultimately affect the result of your career. Appreciate your life to the fullest and more good will come. Steve faces life with the same attitude, “I don’t need a lot of reminding about how great things generally are. And, yes, of course I have stress. But all that stuff is just incidental. It all comes and goes and if I ever feel like I am not happy, I have trained a herd of monkeys to come and slap me silly for being so ungrateful and self-indulgent” – what a great idea! Once you reach your goals, maintain them. Remain and continue on the great path you have created for yourself - get used to the idea of following your dreams and being successful. If you are happy with the way your life turned out continue to do what you have been doing. “My family taught me a motto: leave it better than you found it. Well they didn’t say that, I did”, Steve shares his secret to success. “Some

percentage of the time thinking that way really is an impetus to be successful and it has served me well”, he concludes. The viewers of CP24 sense the love Steve portrays for his career. I, along with thousands of followers, can admit that he truly is made for media. In fact, Steve Anthony was recently awarded Top TV Personality of 2011 in the GTA during our latest Top Choice Awards Gala by his faithful audience. We were more than happy to have him attend our event in November. He speaks for the audience and remains on the same chapter with his followers “I hope that the impact I have is that I reflect them, the public, the audience at least when it comes to topics of the day. I like to think they see me as a guy that would ask a lot of questions they would ask, look at things the way they would look at things”, he states. The viewers feel that commitment with Steve and that is the reason why he is one of the Top and will continue to be a man his audience demands to see for a very long time.

HIGH PERFORMANCE VISION™ The Bochner Eye Institute is internationally-recognized as the experts in Laser Eye Surgery. Celebrating its 80th anniversary, Bochner is the longest established laser eye treatment center in North America. “We have thousands of satisfied patients from all over the world— 40 countries and counting — to have laser eye surgery,” says Dr. Raymond Stein. “However, the most significant acknowledgement of our expertise comes from the fact that well over 300 eye doctors have chosen our Institute to have their eyes treated.” The father and son teams of Harold and Raymond Stein, and Albert and Jordan Cheskes trained at the world renowned Mayo Clinic. They also hold professorships at the University of Toronto and have collaborated on an impressive 35 texts — the most academic books attributed to a private institution in North America. “Our reputation as a center of excellence is attributable to the quality of our surgeons,” notes Dr. Harold Stein. “Patients considering a laser procedure can be rest assured that our surgeons are amongst the most skilled and experienced in the world,” explains Dr. Stein, “what really sets us apart is our expertise partnered with the most advanced laser technology available.” Technologies like the new Intralase® equipment. The Intralase® laser is the safest, most effective all laser LASIK technique. This technology provides improved safety, better vision, higher degrees of predictability and precision. Now with, new diagnostic equipment, the Bochner Eye Institute is now better able to detect and correct diseases and disorders of the eye at the earliest stages. “Innovation, safety, experience, dependability, and the longevity that comes with years of experience and thousands of happy patients are what keep the Bochner Eye Institute at the forefront of laser technology in Canada,” concludes Dr. Albert Cheskes.

SERVICES KERATOCONUS Keratoconus is a corneal disease that occurs when the normally round dome-shaped cornea (the clear outer area of the eye) progressively thins causing a conelike bulge to develop. New treatment modalities are offerred including corneal collagen crosslinking with Riboflavin and intracorneal rings.

INTRAOCULAR TECHNIQUES Intraocular techniques, as the name implies, are done within the eye. Three intraocular techniques are available at the Bochner Eye Institute: Phakic Intraocular Lenses - often referred to as an Implantable Contact Lens (ICL), Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) and Cataract Surgery

LASIK LASIK, or Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis, is a type of laser eye surgery for correcting myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. In order for light to focus more clearly on the retina, the outer window of the eye and the cornea must be of the proper curvature.

PRK During photorefractive keratectomy (PRK), the surface cells of the cornea, called the corneal epithelium, are removed instead of creating a LASIK flap. The excimer laser is applied to reshape the cornea and correct vision. Visual outcomes are equally as impressive as with LASIK, however, the healing time tends to be longer.

Four Strings… Everything

Grenville Pinto isn’t just a violinist. He’s so much more. A complete musician. A showman. An entertainer. Fun. Class. An artist. Written by Francesca Filippelli Photos by Maggie Habieda Nowakowski / Fotografia Boutique

Grenville Pinto was Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and first discovered his love for music at the age of seven. In fact, Pinto was different than most and, unlike many boys his age, sports was not his biggest concern. He followed the same interest and values as his family and loved the sound of musical notes coming together to result in a beautiful melody. He has his mother to thank; she was the first to introduce him to a music program where he shortly fell in love with his newfound art and spent most of his time. As time passed, his love for music grew and so did his musical abilities - he explored many instruments in his lifetime but remained faithful to only one

46

- the violin. Pinto extended this passion and began to train under the Royal Conservatory of Music and became a member of the Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. These programs gave him the opportunity to play in numerous recitals and performances where, as a result, Pinto became a leading choice for events all over the GTA. Once you have succeeded and surpassed the ability to receive education there comes a time when you can’t be taught anymore and teachers fall short. The next step is simply to apply the training and create your own style of music. Pinto did exactly that. He refers to it as “Classical Fusion” - the playing of contemporary music on

a classical instrument. In fact, he is completely different from your regular violinist. He creates an environment that the audience cannot get enough of. For those who have not had a chance to see Pinto perform, it may be time to do so - “the violin is my tool, I can choose to wow my audience with numerous numbers that will get them off their chairs and participate with the sound.” It is all about performance and Pinto showcases that during events. He is not only talented but he has the power and knowledge to adapt to any kind of audience. “I try and select music that will inspire”, he adds. He chooses the kind of sound depending on the kind of people he is performing to – “you don’t only have to

Pinto dedicated his album Christmas Glow to his mother, who unfortunately passed away last year. Her final support for his music was proofing a few songs on the album before her passing. He is forever grateful. learn the notes and the instruments, you also have to learn your audience”. In today’s world many of us can find a common ground through the love of music. Music has the power to bring joy to our hearts and pleasure to our soul the moment we feel sorrow. It gives us a sense of control and freedom when we know we have the right to choose the genre or style we want. The moment he discovers the type of sound his audience prefers the sound hits them and “it moves them, it excites them and there’s that kind of connection between them”, Pinto shares. In fact, it has the power to enlighten our days and the power to put a smile on our face. It has the ability to concentrate the attention

of many into one melody - Pinto explores and practices that power through each of his performances. Our recent Winter Magazine Launch was a huge success and we had the pleasure of including Grenville Pinto’s beautiful sound during the night. His talent was extraordinary. His methods of playing the violin were completely original and you couldn’t help but to stop, watch and listen. He connected with all of our attendees in more ways than one and we couldn’t be happier to have him perform. To hear Grenville Pinto in action, or to book him for an event, visit gpinto.com or call (416) 296-9494.

Voted Top Audio-Visual Equipment & Supplies of 2011 in Barrie RBC Video Conferencing Room

Better Communication, Better Business A better business needs better communication. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then what’s the value of a video call or interactive training? From here on out audio-visual will be the standard way we communicate, here are some tips from Cinema Stage Inc. so you can ensure that your business doesn’t fall behind. Know what is out there Far too often, too much focus is directed to corporations’ current needs. Rather, an innovative audio visual contractor should be responsible to inform the client of all available technologies in the market place to allow the client to conduct an internal audit of needs and foresight into where they would like to be in terms of technology. This information is priceless to the AV contractor when designing the systems, whether or not the technologies are implemented immediately or in the future. Knowing where the firm is headed will most definitely mitigate any risk associated with premature replacement of components.

Investing in the future There is no way around it, implementing audio visual systems in a facility does come at a cost. It is best to view this as an investment in the corporate culture. Although the initial price tag may be rather high, integrating technology will immediately begin to pay off. The ROI will be immediately seen with employees through increased productivity and attention during meeting on top of faster workflow processes through collaboration and video conferencing. The key to maximizing the ROI is high levels

48

Spring 2012

of support/training for staff upon initial implementation. This is sure to set the tone and help change the corporate culture to embrace audio visual technology.

What, When, Where, Why and How? Coordination and Implementation can make or break every project. Professional audio visual systems are meant to be fully integrated and aesthetically pleasing; no components should “stick out” but rather be more subtle. Coordination and implementation also extends into the timelines between various trades and client deliverables, often following timelines is critical to the successful implementation of these systems.

Be in Control The key to ROI as mentioned above (support and training) is only second to the following: Control. If the systems are not consistent, intuitive and easy to use, people will almost always revert to their old habits, thus wasting the time and expense invested in an audio visual system. Programming scope of these systems should be determined with the user groups directly. Often small hiccups or inefficiencies lead to rejection of new technologies and workflow.

The Sky is the Limit With the fast paced nature of the electronics industry, virtually anything is possible. New technologies are generating new avenues for increased productivity and revenue. Buzzwords such as collaborative, immersive and convergence are becoming more and more popular, however are vague at best. Understanding these terms in a given corporate culture and applying them to technology is where the rubber meets the road which can directly relate to technologies such as content sharing, video conferencing and IP based. AV contractors help bridge and explain these terms including pros and cons.

Form Follows Function At the end of the day, what technology is chosen and how it is implemented must be exclusively determined by current and anticipated use or needs. Having a knowledgeable firm guide a client through the process is an invaluable tool that is worth its weight in gold. These firms have successfully implemented installations similar and in stark contrast to the one at hand, which alleviates any tunnel vision often found in any given organization.

With 30+ years’ experience, Cinema Stage Inc. (CSI) established a solid reputation in the Cinema/Live Theatre industry. As with every successful business, CSI adapted their service offering with main stream clientele in the corporate audio visual market maintaining the same level of service and reputation as earned in the theatre industry. CSI is continuing this devotion to quality and service, CSI is the first audio visual firm in the GTA to achieve ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications. Selected projects include BC Place Stadium, RBC Centre, Brock University, North Bay Regional Health Centre, and the Art Gallery of Ontario. This broad range of projects bring specific skills and forward thinking from related applications to constantly push the boundaries of design, resulting in stunning audio visual implementations. With their headquarters located a short jaunt north of Toronto in Barrie, CSI conveniently offers exceptional response time to clients both in the GTA and Northern Ontario.

Cinema Stage Inc. and your firm CSI with over 30 years of solid experience and reputation in the audio visual systems integration market will provide a total solution for your presentation systems. From the simplest to the complex, we have the knowledge to put the puzzle together. Design your boardroom, audio visual system, conferencing system, digital signage or training room to be an integral tool that will show professionalism to your clients, staff, and associates. We have the in house staff to provide the best available at a reasonable cost and ROI.

Sunset Beach Tanning

Visiting Sunset Beach Tanning was really a positive experience. The second I walked through the door I was greeted very hospitably by the employees. The set-up and layout of the business was very organized and well-portrayed. The atmosphere was screaming “vacation” and you can’t help but to rush into those beds. In fact, on a good note, the beds are extremely clean with a fresh towel included for personal use. Now, since they have been open for more than 15 years you are sure to receive one of the best treatments Toronto has to offer at this location. Visit Sunset Beach Tanning today - you are guaranteed that their beds and products will accelerate your tan, condition your skin and, most important of all, keep that beautiful glow longer.

720 King West Dental

There are many of us out there that absolutely hate visiting the dentist but unfortunately dental care is a necessity to our life routine. In that case, visit a dental office you know you will be comfortable in and greeted with a smile the moment you walk in. If reliability and care is what you are searching for then 720 King West Dental is the place for you. The place is completely immaculate, great decor and the staff moves quickly and efficiently...but you never feel rushed or unwelcome. Dr. Jermaine Hao, along with the staff at the front desk, was very friendly and organized. Throughout my visit I realized why this dental office is now nominated to win for Top in Toronto. Need dental care? Search no more!

Acupuncture Pain Relief Clinic

Let’s face it...if you’re about to enter an acupuncture clinic you’re in need of some type of massage to help restore your bones and get them back to their natural shape. When you are searching for a service that involves care and personal interest of your own body you are in need of knowledgeable and experienced doctors who will make a difference. Take my word for it and visit Acupuncture Pain Relief Clinic. I had the pleasure to speak to Dr Allen Wang and he demonstrated confidence and support for his clinic throughout my whole visit. The work environment is very relaxing and you can’t help but feel that “homely” ambience the moment you walk in. Any of the clients walking in and out revealed a comfortable and calm energy as they either prepared for their upcoming appointment or just finished receiving the service. Visit them today...you will have complete satisfaction!

Veronika attending the 2012 ReelWorld Film Festival for a screening of Searching for Angels

80

Spring 2012

BUFFALO and the dark comedy short film THE ELUSIVE MAN. The latter garnered several festival awards including the “Action on Film Award” at the Action on Film International Film Festival. London is drawn to character-driven roles that offer what she calls “conflicting rawness.” Now, London is poised for a starturn performance as the title character

in Nadeem Soumah’s gritty feature film S E A RC H I NG F OR A NG E L S o p p o site Vivica A.
