So if you're reading this message, congratulations to you as you are an essential part of this new Human Era, cheers to you! We all know that nothing is permanent, that everything is constantly evolving and our detailed attention to care for changing ourselves is one major factor that sets the apart achievers and dreamers. For most people, being able to change oneself is not an easy task. We are naturally creatures of habits and with that being so, we tend to choose old comfort zones over adapting to change and the discomfort that comes with improving oneself. We talk ourselves out of the now, because deep down inside we know that only in the now resides all the power needed to deliver the goals we wish to achieve to our future selves, and that can be really scary. So instead, when opportunities arise, we say things like “I am not ready yet”, “I need to fix some other things first in order to start”. It’s with that attitude towards life’s energy that we often convince ourselves that we just gained a little more time to be ready for something that we actually know we could start right now!

So, why is that scary feeling of change increasing and taking over so many people all over the world? The answer is simple - it’s the never ending paradox of having to choose to face life through the eyes of love or fear. The two are part of the same source of energy, there is no wrong choice, only different results and repercussions. Nowadays, most people have access to all the tools needed to adapt to any changes that life may throw at us and yet instead of the expected “calm waters” you’d think we’re in because of those tools, we are under more pressure than ever before. Have you ever stopped to search why? Imagine trying to then apply what you learned in your next chapter. Well, that is exactly what award winning business owners do, they are regular people with internal and external struggles but they make the constant conscious choice to search for self improvement as they found that in order to remain on Top of their game they need to apply their new and improved self at work and at home. As I get older and get more involved with alike minds, I couldn't agree more with the fact that we are all a part of this collective source of energy that constantly shifts its frequency and direction but always includes us all. Once this gets clear and makes sense in our minds and hearts, all we have to do is choose what pair of eyes we want to look at life with. Will you choose love or fear? According to endless records of human history, whatever you choose, you will get more of. I guess it makes sense as everything action has an equal reaction. Love, get more love; doubt get doubted! People today are more educated about food
and demand the best product. People want to feed their children healthy meals and enjoy their dining experience in a fun and friendly environment.” Many of their ingredients are locally sourced, but many are also imported from Italy—in fact, for authenticity’s sake, they have to be. Goodfellas uses D.O.P. products, a designation verified by the Italian government, that guarantees the quality of the ingredients. “Make no mistake about it, there are many imitators in our industry who say one thing and do another - buyer beware”, says Taddeo. “Many people say they serve gourmet pizza,” says Taddeo, “The mark of a

Expansion. Goodfellas is actively looking at markets in Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton Ancaster and Waterdown as well as a third Mississauga location in Port Credit. Currently, Goodfellas operates in Milton, Georgetown, Bloor West Village, Streetsville and their newest location scheduled to open in May 2019 across from Square One at 50 Burnhamthorpe Road W. in the Sussex Centre. “Our vision is to become the premier Italian restaurant brand in Canada. It’s our passion and persistence that will take us to where we want to go,” says Taddeo.

The "SuperHuman" Pursuit How chasing “super-human” status may be interfering with our quality of life. Sometimes, we mistakenly believe that we are super-humans, able to endure anything. We accomplish what seems to be impossible in the given hours of one day, running on little sleep and barely having time for meals. This has become what we deem to be a necessary part of life. We all know that our daily lives can get hectic, and sometimes, sacrifices must be made. The problems arise when we spend too much time believing that we are “super-humans” and not enough time appreciating and maintaining the quality of our lives. Mental and physical health are two of the most important things in our lives; two things that we are easy to take for granted.
During this undeceive climate alteration, perhaps you’ve displayed symptoms of a cold that you simply ignored because you couldn’t afford to get sick. Or you may have noticed that even the simplest tasks end up leaving you exhausted. Our bodies have their own way of “talking” to us and letting us know what they need. We just have to be wise enough to listen. Everyone has heard the phrase, “you only live once”, which was around long before the popular rap song. While this quote is often used to enforce the idea of having no regrets, another appropriate phrase we would do well to repeat to ourselves is “you only have one life”. You only have one body, one opportunity to make
this life all that it could be. When you choose to start sacrificing certain things such as your mental health or physical health, your quality of life will drastically alter, and you will notice. We, and we alone, have a choice to change things. If something is broken, we have the opportunity and means to fix it. When we ignore the signs our bodies send us, we ultimately create more damage in the long run. For example, we often tend to ignore physical pain, attributing it to the way we slept or assuming it will go away soon. However, physical pain, no matter how trivial it may seem, should never be overlooked. Small aches and pains may be our bodies way of telling us there is something larger at work. We are lucky to have so many resources at hand such as physiotherapy, which can assist us in being our best selves! Start this week off by consciously choosing to always improve yourself mind, body and soul. Remind yourself that you have one body and one life; how you treat it and what you choose to do with it is up to you!

Why being a MOM doesn’t mean giving up on beauty

ome of the best “mom advice” I’ve ever received came from one of the most unlikely sources. Do you remember the last time you boarded a flight and got the safety instructions from the flight attendant before takeoff? One of those critical instructions that we hope we never have to apply on board a plane is something we simply cannot afford to ignore in real life. “In case of a loss of cabin pressure, oxygen masks will drop from the panel above you. Please secure your own mask before assisting others.” Being a mom is a full-time job mentally, physically and emotionally. There are many times in parent-life when the oxygen seems to get thin. Our tendency as parents is to take care of the needs of our kids above everything else. However, much like those critical instructions on the plane, you can’t help anyone else if you don’t take care of yourself first. Being a mother is a lot like running a 3-ring circus. At any given moment you will have all different types of acts being performed and all sorts of animals that need to be managed. The Mom is the Ring Master. She is the leader. She’s the boss. The Ring Master must be in control and show confidence at all times. If she doesn’t the animals will get restless. They will feel insecure. There’s a good chance those animals will rebel. Doesn’t that about sum it up? As a wife, a mother of four and an entrepreneur, 3-ring circus is the story of my life...and I love it. I love being a Mom. I love being needed. It gives me purpose and drive. I wish I could say there were five or six extra hours in a day, but since there is not, I do what I can with the time I have. As a working mom, there are no excuses because there is no time for them. Making time for “me” is as much a sacrifice as any other aspect of my life, however securing my own oxygen mask is critical for not only myself, but for the rest of my family. As a mother it is not just my responsibility to ensure my children are fed, or driven to a playdate after an 12 hour work day, but that they have my undivided acknowledgment and attention. Being a mom for me is about being a rock no matter what else I am juggling in my life.
I facilitate my passion for helping others find their best selves through my work because beneath every woman, (not just mothers) there is beauty and strength to be found. My drive comes from helping people find their confidence, whether that be smoothing out wrinkles around the eyes or showing them they are beautiful despite them. Deep beneath the sweat pants and greasy hair of ‘the mother-hood cocoon’, there is always a strong beautiful woman to be found. Please do not get me wrong. The message isn’t that if you don’t wear make-up and Loubitons you will be miserable. The message is ‘you’ matter too. We all feel better when we look our best. Life doesn’t end when you have your babies. It just begins. I mean, I love beautiful things, should that go away because I am a mom? Does being a mom mean I give up on “me” to raise someone else? No, having babies means that we as mothers must be strong for our kids, we must lift ourselves up, we must lead by example. What would you want your daughter’s life to look like? I, for one, want my daughters to be strong, self-sufficient, kind, smart, giving and have the ability to get what they want and to take what they need. This is what I want for myself too. Does that make me selfish? I don’t think so. Practicing self-love is the best way to know how to love someone else. I love being a Mom. I love being a wife. I love my job. But I also love me too. There comes a time when all the excuses in the world will no longer matter. I hope that this moment will be your time.
So, burn the sweatpants! Take a shower and wash your face. Make time for ‘you’ a compulsory piece of your journey. No one said being a mom would be easy — but no one said being a mom would mean ‘you’ no longer exist. Write your own story and own it. Find your power and feel 'your' beauty! If for you that means a bold lipstick and a pair of flip flops, work it! It doesn’t really matter what it is as long as it’s about you. A woman, by my definition, is a Superhero; willing to leap tall buildings for the last Elmo or must-have runners, scaling walls to wipe a stuffy nose and runpayroll simultaneously. She is beautiful. She is strong. A woman is a superhero and she doesn’t give up on anything, including herself.
