From the Desk of Ryan Lanzen Hello Members! I hope you all had a fantastic Easter Weekend! We sure did have a great weekend here at the Club with a very well attended Easter Egg Hunt, fantastic wine tasting hosted by Young’s Market, a delicious Easter Brunch and the Easter Bunny leaving his tracks all over Torreon. Make sure you check out some of the pictures from the weekend in the following pages. A huge THANK YOU goes out to the outstanding team we have here at Torreon that makes all of these holiday weekends and special events go so smoothly. It’s not always easy to execute these events but our staff, top to bottom, always makes it look easy and their hard work is very much appreciated. If you haven’t heard yet, the Tower Golf Course is now open! We had quite a few rounds played this past weekend and the reviews were very positive in relation to the overall golf course conditions this early in the season and the work that has been done to address many of the bunker issues we were facing. The bunker project has taken out a large chunk of what needs to be addressed around the greensides. We will continue to work on fairway bunkers through the spring months and the remaining greenside bunkers will be addressed in winter/spring of 2017. Thanks to our ownership for the support in undertaking this project and thanks to David Scharfen and his team for a job well done and a job that is continuing to be well done. As I mentioned before, Tower is open and Cabin will be opening April 18th. We will be aerifying the Cabin Golf Course the week of April 4th and the Tower Golf Course the week of April 18th. Both courses will be open for play, Friday – Sunday starting April 22nd. Following that, both courses will be open 7 days a week starting May 6th with alternating Monday maintenance closures for one of the two courses. Mark your calendars now, Mothers Day weekend is coming and in early May and you will want to be here! The Member “Welcome Back” Party is set for Saturday, May 7th and will be themed around the Kentucky Derby going on that afternoon. Our annual Mothers Day Brunch is scheduled for Sunday, May 8th. Mark your calendars and we will be releasing more information about both of these events very soon! We are working hard on finishing our plans and schedules for the summer events and the Event Calendar is being updated regularly. Through the portal you can see your statement, pay balances, book tee times, check out the latest menus and even sign up for the new Torreon Text Club to have Club event information sent straight to your phone!
