Danville Recreation, Arts and Community Services Activity Guide | Fall 2019
Find your inner
warrior www.danville.ca.gov | For Fall registration dates, refer to page 2.
FIND YOUR INNER WARRIOR… I don’t know about you but the transition from summer to fall is a rough one. It is a time that we must kick off our flip flops, find our socks and begin to cram our feet into those ever-binding shoes for the next few months until we feel the warmth of the sun again. The only solace I have is that shorts can still be worn most of the year if the feet are kept warm, and we have a hoodie handy. When seasons change it can have an affect on people that some how dismisses the desire to stay positive, empowered and courageous. Today I’m here to encourage each of you to dig deep inside yourselves and find that inner warrior that fights to stay positive. The inner warrior is that part of you that recognizes, rejects and defeats the ho-hum negative attitude that can come when the weather becomes a little gloomy causing us more time inside. I say, be courageous go outside jump in a pile of leaves or stomp in a puddle. I hear that courage is a necessity in life especially if you want to be successful in relationships, creative projects or your career. Finding an engaging your inner warrior lets you be brave, feel empowered and take risks to try new things that might seem scary. It helps you to fight boredom by sharpening your mind with a language class, strengthening your body in an exercise class, indulge in art by visiting our theartre and gallery or for the kids taking on the name Warrior through our Junior Warriors Basketball Program. Our very own Golden State Warriors say there is strength in numbers. This is so true, find one or seven others who have found their inner warrior that can join you this season and vow to keep positive. I challenge you to come together and find that perfect activity or program that will help you harness the strength within to become anew. Take a chance on us to help you fight the battle of doom and gloom as we lead you to enjoy the rainbows and sunshine provided by our world of recreation and arts. I hope that you take some time this fall to find your inner warrior and battle for a brighter day by joining us and participating in the programs and services offered in this Activity Guide.

RESIDENCY STATUS CLARIFICATION Those living outside the Danville Town limits include residents of the communities of Alamo and Diablo, and Alamo Creek, Bettencourt Ranch, Blackhawk, Bryan Ranch, Monterosso, Shadow Creek and Whitegate housing developments. The program and facility fees cover a large portion of the actual costs, though Town of Danville residents also partially support the classes, events and facilities through their property tax assessments. Because of this, those program participants and individuals reserving Town facilities who live outside of Danville pay an additional non-resident charge. If you have any questions about this information, call 314-3400. Special Notice to Alamo Residents living in the Alamo County Service Area R-7A: all R-7A residents are eligible to register for Town-sponsored programs scheduled at Hap Magee Ranch Park during the resident registration period. Non-resident fees still apply for these classes and activities. Call 314-3400 for more information.
