Traditional Day Camps WHAT IS A “TRADITIONAL DAY CAMP?” Traditional day camps include full- and half-day day camps with activities planned around a central theme by trained Town staff. Each camper belongs to a group of 6–8 which rotates through activities throughout the day, such as arts, crafts, outdoor games, playground time, sports, free play, etc. Some camps include an off-site, Town staff-supervised field trip. All registered participants will receive an informational email about one week prior to the first day of camp. Complete the Health Information and Emergency Form and bring to the first day of camp (one form per child per summer). If you selected the $50 Camp Deposit Option, your outstanding fee balance will automatically be billed to your credit card 14 days prior to the first day of camp. Camp Deposit Option The Town of Danville is pleased to offer a Camp Deposit option for Traditional Camp registration only. For a $50 deposit fee per child per barcode, you can reserve the weeks of camp you need (anywhere from 1–8 weeks). Balance will automatically be billed to your credit card 14 days prior to the first day of each camp week. Standard withdrawal & refund policy applies. Available for credit card payments only.

Friends! Fun! Field trips! That’s what this extension of the popular Danville Day Camp provides for children entering kindergarten to second grade. Trained and experienced staff will lead children through daily adventures of songs, crafts, games, and outdoor activities. Each Tuesday campers will enjoy an age-appropriate, off-site field trip, which will be chaperoned by Town Staff only. Don’t forget Wednesday Water Play and the All-Camps Friday Talent Show and BBQ! DAY CAMP EXTENDED CARE Age 5–11Y Town Staff If you need a few more hours before or after camp, this program will provide a safe, nurturing place for your children. Campers will enjoy regular camp activities, such as arts & crafts, board games, and outdoor activities, but at a more leisurely pace. Parents can choose from AM only, PM only, or both. DAY CAMP GROUP SWIM LESSONS Age 5–11Y Town Staff Exclusively for kids registered in Danville Day, Danville Day Junior, and Play ‘n’ Sports Day Camps at swim levels Elementary 1–4 (see Aquatics section for details). Lessons are 25 minutes long and run Monday–Thursday for one week. Children will be tested and placed in a class with similarly-skilled students. Max three students per instructor. Town staff will escort campers to the pool. Children must be able to change clothes on own. Each week will start with exciting group projects like water bottle rocket launches, water balloon catapults, amazing group murals, and much more. Tuesday–Thursday will be filled with great trips, with a Wednesday extended trip to 5 PM. Every Friday features a Talent Show BBQ with all Los Cerros camps, plus free swim at the Monte Vista Community Pool. foreign language camps PRESCHOOL SPANISH CAMP AMIGOS Age 3–5Y A+ Spanish Academy Staff This is a total Spanish immersion program. The curriculum consists of learning: language time (vocabulary words), exercise time (command words i.e. up, down, jump), hands on activities (puzzles, books, etc.), songs (singing & playing instruments), family members, art projects, and much more. In this two-week drama camp program, campers audition, are cast, rehearse and perform a play. They also shoot a ‘mini-movie.’ Instructors are experienced actors and summer camp workers, assuring a rich, rewarding and FUN experience. BABYSITTING FOR BEGINNERS SUMMER CAMPS/CLASSES Age 10–14Y Suzy McCreary Learn the skills needed to be a trusted and responsible babysitter. Learn all about child development, bedtime strategies, discipline, how to get jobs, and ways to make babysitting fun for you and the kids. Basic first aid, general safety, and what to do in an emergency will also be covered. Students should bring a lunch for the all-day class, and a snack for the afternoon class.
