LITTLE ELM PARKS & TRAILS Little Elm is proud to boast 66-miles of shoreline and an intricate trail system that continues to expand. We maintain our parks and trails with pride and hope that everyone can visit Little Elm, be active, and see why we’re the Town With A Lake Attitude! We are also a Leave No Trace community. Before you hit one of our parks, trails, or Beach, read these tips: Heading out to hit a trail? Minimize impact and leave no trace with these tips: Know before you go. Learn about the trail you're visiting, what to expect, what you will see, and dress appropriately for your trip. Choose the right path. Stay on the main trail and avoid stepping on small trees and wildflowers. Trash your trash. Be sure to take any food and trash with you when you leave to minimize the impact on wildlife and to keep the area beautiful for all users. Leave what you find behind. Leave plants, rocks, and other items as you find them so others can enjoy them, too! Please treat living plants with respect; do not peel, pick, or cut them. Respect wildlife. It is not uncommon to see wildlife in our parks and on our trails. Observe animals from a distance; do not approach, feed, or follow them. Keep your pets on a leash and clean up after them, too. 44

ADULT SOFTBALL WINTER 250' LEAGUE

Softball winter 250’ leagues are played under USSSA guidelines and are offered Sunday – Friday night at numerous skill levels. “250” stands for “250 feet,” which is where the temporary outfield fences will be set for this league. The whole point of 250’ league is to be able to hit home runs, and home runs are unlimited over the 250’ fence (regular home run rules apply to balls hit over the normal outfield fences). Leagues will be limited to the first eight teams per night to sign up, and all leagues will be doubleheader leagues with each team playing two games per night. All teams must use stamped Little Elm balls only for games, and it is encouraged that each team provides a “ball-shagger” when they are batting. Specific 250 league rules are posted on the Town of Little Elm Softball webpage, and any rules not mentioned in the 250 rules will revert to regular Little Elm Softball rules. Max 16 players per team. E leagues are recreational and are allowed one home run per night, while D leagues are competitive and are allowed four home runs per night. This league has a “Drop-Dead Date” of 2/22/20, in which all games must be completed. Any leagues that may have rainouts and need to make up games must complete games by the week of 2/16 – 2/21/20. If all games are not completed, then a tournament will be hosted on 2/22/20 to get each team the required eight games for their season. There are no refunds for this league, and the drop-dead date tournament will be the only way games are made up if there are three or more rainouts on the same day/night during the season. Registration for Winter 250’ leagues begins on 12/9/19 and closes on 1/5/20. The first games will be played the week of 1/12/20.
