Warriors bow out of Super League as Neptune edge thriller in Tralee

Tralee Warriors lost to Energywise Ireland Neptune in a nail-biting game on Saturday night, which saw Neptune secure the final playoff place in the South Conference with a 77-73 win. In front of a capacity crowd at the Tralee Sports Complex, Neptune’s Jordan Blount scored a stunning three-pointer with 19 seconds left on the clock, which proved to be the decisive score. The game had looked likely to go into overtime until Blount’s final shot. The match was an incredible one, which will live long in the memory of those who were fortunate enough to witness it. Throughout the game, both sides were level on numerous occasions, with the lead changing hands several times. The third quarter saw the closest scoring with neither side able to pull ahead, resulting in the game being tied at 55-55 at the end of the quarter. The final quarter was played out to a feverish atmosphere, with both teams battling for the final playoff spot. Although Tralee Warriors equalized in the final minute, Neptune’s Blount landed the winning shot, and the Cork side will now face Belfast Star in Belfast in the quarter-final of the Super League. photos ...credit Liam
