I was always a tomboy growing up but was completely unaware of the term transgender due my family being quite LGBTQIA+ phobic. I was abused emotionally and physically as a kid and therefore strived to be the ‘perfect little girl’ which only led to depression, anxiety and suicide attempts. After moving out of home at 18 I came out as genderqueer as a way to explore my gender more fully and came out as transgender on the 29th of December 2015. I’m currently being referred for hormones and couldn’t be happier. Family hasn’t been very accepting and refuse to accept my name change or my pronouns but thankfully I have amazing friends and partner who support me wholeheartedly.

I was born in Los Angeles, and raised in San Diego. My life has been difficult and I’m not open to talk about it. I picked up skateboarding as a hobby and it became a passion. I’m the middle kid of three boys. I’m currently a high school student close to graduation. I’ve been adopted by my loving girlfriend’s family. I would love to go to college, although I’m not sure what my major would be. I love interior design so I may be headed in that direction.

My life story was that of someone who was known as a “tom-boy� and was bullied a lot for the way I looked. I knew mentally that I wasn’t a female, but I tried to fool myself into conforming with society. Right at the start of my senior year in high school, I came out as a gay, transgender male. Since then, I have started testosterone and have had top surgery. I am now a year and a half on testosterone and just over a year post-op from a bilateral mastectomy. I am public about my transition to help others and be an advocate.
