C OOSOME, TWOSOMES TRAVELIFE gets intimate with two young and successful couples

THEIR FIRST MEETING Sunshine: We met in the latter part of 2006 during a shoot for the Bench “Wear Your Conscience” campaign. But it wasn’t until several months later that Rob asked me out on a date a couple of days after Christmas.

Rob: We met at my school for a charity shoot.

I found her so beautiful, I asked her to join our school so I could get her number.

THE BIG QUESTION Sunshine: Rob proposed on bended knee, at the top of the Spanish wall in Intramuros in December of 2007.

THE HONEYMOON Sunshine: We went to my dream place, San Sebastián, Spain, for some of our most memorable meals to date. Then we took a Mediterranean cruise starting off in Spain and ending in Italy, where we proceeded to Parma for more amazing food.

THEIR FAVORITE DESTINATIONS Sunshine: San Sebastián holds a special place in our hearts. It is really just the perfect place for hungry cooks like us. It’s a small town with not too many tourists, but it has some of the best restaurants in the world.

Rob: I think it would have to be Paris and Tokyo because they are both cities with great food.

Sunshine and Rob have been married for 5 years.

THE BEST DATE VENUE IN THE WORLD Martin Berasetegui in San Sebastián, where we sat on the balcony overlooking the Basque countryside and ate one of the best meals of our lives. Each course was like heaven on a plate.

THEIR FIRST MEETING We met when I was in the first grade and he was in the second grade.

But it was only at his best friend’s birthday that we re-met as adults and rekindled our friendship. Our first date was on Valentines Day. THE BIG QUESTION It happened at Patrick’s house on New Year’s Eve. He had his and my whole family in on it, so everyone knew except for me. Everyone calls it the “Brownout Proposal” because the power got cut just an hour before Pat’s planned proposal at midnight—so he popped the question in the dark.

THE HONEYMOON We traveled to Bali. We still aren’t done traveling for our honeymoon though. More destinations to come!

THEIR FAVORITE CITY As much as we love to travel, it’s always great to come home. Manila will always be our favorite city in the world.

THEIR FAVORITE DESTINATION Paris, hands down.

THE BEST DATE VENUE IN THE WORLD A quaint restaurant on top of the caldera in Santorini, Greece.
