Home & Away for the holidays
I’M SPENDING THE HOLIDAYS THIS YEAR IN CALIFORNIA. The weather is very nice and my whole family will also be joining me there. MY MOST MEMORABLE TRIP THIS YEAR WAS TO MADRID WITH MY FAMILY. The weather was perfect and the city was lovely and clean. We enjoyed walks in the park, the drive to charming Segovia, and of course, the delicious Spanish food. Moreover, it was my son’s first long trip and we really had a wonderful time. BANGKOK IS THE BEST PLACE TO SPEND NEW YEAR’S EVE. People gather together for the countdown, right at the center of the city. Central World is full of happy faces, music, lights and sound, food, and fun. IN 2013, I WANT TO EXPLORE MORE PLACES IN THE PHILIPPINES including Palawan, Bohol, Baguio, and Davao. I do believe “it’s more fun in the Philippines.”

TravelifeStyleTRAVELIFE MAGAZINE 2013: A YEAR FOR NON-STOP LEARNING AND WANDERLUST I’LL BE IN MANILA FOR THE HOLIDAYS THIS YEAR for a nice, quiet Christmas at home. I would still love to go to Singapore, though, and spend some of the holidays with the family of one of my closest friends. I LIKE GIVING FRIENDS “EXPERIENCES” AS GIFTS— like a buffet treat, a trip or a shopping spree for friends. If I have time, I bake oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I also give jewelry to my little girls. THE BEST GIFT I’VE EVER RECEIVED IS JEWELRY: a special locket and a gold set of entwined leaves. IN 2012, I WENT TO TAIPEI. I enjoyed exploring Taipei101 for the view and the shopping. The food was awesome! Locally, a quick trip to Baguio with my girls and my dad was a perfect bonding opportunity. I was able to relive childhood memories and, at the same time, pass these on to my girls. IN 2013, I WANT TO GO TO NEW YORK, SYDNEY, AND MELBOURNE. I’ve been meaning to take acting workshops, expand my network and contacts, and learn more about film production and theater. Of course, I also want to go on a food adventure!

TravelifeStyleTRAVELIFE MAGAZINE TRAVEL UNITED KINGDOM SILVERSEA 2013: THE YEAR OF GETTING SH*T DONE. NO OTHER COUNTRY CELEBRATES THE HOLIDAYS LIKE THE PHILIPPINES. I definitely enjoy staying in the Philippines for the holidays. The passion, tradition, food, revelry, family—it’s all here and more. ANYTHING FATTENING, CREAMY AND TASTY WILL BE ON MY NOCHE BUENA SPREAD THIS YEAR. I’m preparing all the traditional Filipino Christmas dishes such as leche flan, macaroni salad, relleno, and paella. Resistance is futile. THE BEST GIFTS I’VE EVER GIVEN MADE SOMEONE HAPPY, EVEN FOR A DAY. I helped organize a Christmas party at an orphanage at a food drive at a homeless shelter. I also give away Eco-Bags from the WWF. They’ve been my go-to gifts for the past two years and I absolutely love seeing them throughout the year being used by my friends. MY MOST MEMORABLE TRIP IN 2012 WOULD HAVE TO BE THE ACTIONPACKED F1 WEEKEND that the Singapore Tourism Board provided me as their newest Singapore Tourism Board Ambassador. That weekend with Maroon 5, F1 drivers, Katy Perry, local celebrities, dining in great restaurants and visiting Universal Studio, was great. I’M MOST EXCITED ABOUT A TRIP TO SASEBO, JAPAN IN 2013. I haven’t been back there since I was born. It’ll be great to visit the hospital and the home I lived in as a baby. I love the whole nostalgic aspect of it all. And of course, I’m looking forward to my yearly tradition of watching baseball with my brothers as our San Francisco Giants defend their World Series title. We’ve been doing that since we were kids; it never gets old.
