Knaith Snowdrop Walk Over 400 people came through the gates for the annual snowdrop walk at Knaith Hall. They walked, admired the snowdrops and aconites (still giving a good show), visited the church and sampled some tea and an excellent array of cakes. Over £1800 was raised on the day. This is your chance to design a 12m x 12m garden to help celebrate 50 years of the charity’s dedicated equine rescue and welfare work; the winning garden will be officially opened by Adam Frost on Wednesday 27th June 2018. To enter the competition please download an application pack from the 50th Anniversary page at www.bransbyhorses. co.uk. There is a suggested donation of £10 per entry which goes directly to the 430 horses, donkeys and mules in the charity’s care. The closing date for entries is Monday 2nd April 2018. Why? Croquet Tuesday and Croquet Saturday! Those are the days that Torksey and District Croquet Club play on the village green. They have a portable clubhouse, which is raised for league games and special events. The club is part of the East Midlands Federation and currently rests half way in its division. However, it rates number 1 in the ‘refreshments table’ when playing at home. Some members also play in open competitions – but the majority play for the fun of the game, including the club’s internal shield competition which is played through the season. Although there is an official season (late April to September), this club plays throughout the year, weather permitting. As well as the opening and closing meetings for the season there is an active social life where members meet up regularly for drinks and food – in particular the last two years has seen the club organise a local mulled wine/mince pie event with a local choral group leading the carol singing and raising funds for local charities. So why not come along at 2pm on a Tuesday or Saturday to Torksey village green (hidden behind the Hume pub) to join in the fun – no experience needed; equipment provided. See you there!

Giving your views on how it is run is vital if we want to make it the best that it can be. We need your feedback. One way of doing this is to complete the 'Friends and Family Test' form (FFT). PPG members have been available in the CMC waiting room to help explain to patients how it works. It is a simple form to complete, and lets the CMC know how you felt your appointment went and gives you the opportunity to express your views on the service in general. You can do this anonymously, or you can give your details if you would like a response. The forms are on the counter and will soon be alongside the electronic check-in, but please ask the PCA for one if you can't see them. Just drop the completed form into the red postbox on the surgery wall on your way out. They can also be completed online via the CMC website after your visit. Collingham Village Care drivers will have them in their cars and will be happy to drop them back into the CMC on your behalf. In January 88 FFT forms were completed, of these, 83% of patients said that they were 'likely' or 'extremely likely' to recommend the CMC. In addition, 17% of patients were either 'neither likely nor unlikely' or 'unlikely' to recommend the CMC. The comments made on the forms are being reviewed by the CMC which will lead to an action plan being developed to deliver on the improvements. This action plan will

Good news came from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) report in February Our Practice has been rated 'Good' in all areas, including improvement in appointment availability. community noticeboard St Helen’s, Thorney with Wigsley Church and Community News Don’t forget our coffee mornings to coincide with the library van, every four weeks on Wednesdays. Our Christmas party special in December was a big success, with lots of fun and presents going home with everyone. The mince pies and non-alcoholic mulled wine went down well, as well as the usual biscuits, tea and coffee. Coming up: 11th April - Church is open from 10.30 to 12 noon and the library van visits from about 11.15am. We have a raffle and ask for donations towards tea/coffee. It will be good to see you! Money collected goes towards improving facilities in church. Church is open for quiet reflection every Wednesday from 2.30 to 4pm. Cards to write on and candles to light are available close to the entrance. Church is open for quiet reflection every Wednesday from 2.30 to 4pm.
