2022-23 BACKTOSCHOOL GUIDE
WELCOME BACK! Dear TCA Community, On August 17 (LS and MS) and August 18 (US), TCA will begin its 53rd year as a Christian college-preparatory school. It’s been 34 years since I walked the grounds of this campus as a student, and now I have the privilege as TCA’s new head of school to welcome students back for the 2022- 23 school year! I’m anxious to partner with you all as we see another outstanding year unfold at TCA. I strongly encourage you and your family to utilize the Back-to-School Guide that contains all of the information you need to get back in the swing of things. This information is also located on the school website (TrinityChristian.org). Something new this year, you will find enclosed a prayer card designed to take 30–31 days each month to pray specifically for different facets of the school and to be reflective of God’s vision for TCA. Will you join me in using the prayer card to guide you through each month throughout the year? Also, be watching your email for information on the Wall of Prayer. Once again this year, we have the privilege to pray for each student and employee by name on a daily basis. Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God may open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ. —Colossians 4:2-3 Make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. —Philippians 2:2 The team of administrators, faculty members and staff is extremely grateful to partner with you during the most formidable years of your children’s lives. Thank you in advance for your commitment and support of Trinity Christian Academy during the 2022–23 school year. To God be the glory,
Dr. Jeff D. Williams Head of School

TCA is excited to celebrate and welcome students to the new Middle School August 17! We are settling in to our new three-story, 44,600-square-foot Middle School building. The modern learning environment includes a technology and robotics lab, literacy center, learning lab and a library (fortified to serve as a storm shelter) for grades five through eight. The second and third levels house seventh- and eighth-grade classrooms for math, science, history/English, Bible and Latin. In addition, the new building includes common areas and collaborative workspaces for students with an abundance of windows and natural light. Our Middle School faculty and staff have a new office suite, conference room and a well-deserved teachers’ lounge! The beautiful Pursuing Excellence Campaign recognition walls are prominently located in the Middle School lobby. Thank you to the 800 families and foundations who invested in the lives of generations of students by supporting the campaign. We are grateful for the generosity of the TCA community and celebrate God’s faithfulness and blessings on TCA. Now to Him who is able to do abundantly more than all we ask or imagine . . . to Him be glory. —Ephesians 3:20-21

JOIN US IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE The Trinity Christian Academy Foundation, under the leadership of its Board of Directors, is a non-profit corporation separate from TCA and its Board of Trustees. The primary purpose of the foundation is to oversee the management of the endowment and to raise funds to further the mission of Trinity Christian Academy. Currently, the endowment totals over $9 million and includes 50 designated scholarship and teacher enrichment funds. Your generosity, through gifts to the TCA Foundation, helps to empower the school on a day-to-day basis, benefits each student and faculty member and leaves a legacy for future generations. In a typical year, donations provide revenue for a wide range of initiatives:
n Student Tuition Aid (STA): STA is a needs-based program to help families afford a TCA education. Many families who benefit from STA are facing unexpected financial challenges such as the loss of a loved one or a job. One out of ten students receives STA, and the annual need is $1.8 million.
n Student Tuition Aid Endowment: Endowments support
TCA by perpetually providing income from your donated gifts to the Joyce E. Millet Student Tuition Aid Endowment. A named endowment can be established with an initial gift of $25,000. The corpus of the fund is maintained and invested, and a portion of the earnings each year is distributed to provide tuition assistance for qualifying students.
nAdvancingathleticteams,4neartsandco-c
programs: Through the Athletic Booster Club and gifts to
visual arts, performing arts and other designated programs, your generosity enhances and enriches student life. Your gifts play an important role in TCA’s mission to develop the whole person for the glory of God. SAGE DINING MEET SENIOR FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR CRAIG FORD Craig Ford has worked for over 30 years as a chef in various industries, including boutique hospital, country club and fine dining establishments. Craig came to TCA a few years ago by way of the Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano. Before that he was the chef at Timarron Country Club in Southlake and at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas, where was the executive chef. He has won a number of culinary awards, cooked at a James Beard dinner as well as cooked on a number of local television programs. When asked why he likes working at TCA, Craig said, “I spent years in my career in fine dining learning everything I could about food and ways to make it better. But I ultimately found this less rewarding than I was hoping, and I realized that what I really wanted was for the food I was making to have meaning and purpose. I found that initially when I went to work for a hospital, but I have found the best reward here at TCA, knowing that the food is making a difference in the lives of the students here, nourishing their bodies so the teachers can nourish their minds. There’s something special in seeing the kids light up in the lunchroom knowing we’re serving their favorite things.” TCA is blessed to have Craig and his team return to serve us again this year!
HOW TO FIND THE SAGE MENU From the menu button (3 horizontal lines) on the main page of the Trinity Christian Academy website, select School Life, then click on Dining Program. This brings you to a page that has a wonderful explanation about our dining program at TCA and has a clickable link to the daily menu. From there, you can select your school division, view the day’s menu, search for menus on specific days and even filter menu items by allergies. This is a good way to be able to plan out your weekly menu.
TOUCH OF SAGE APP The Touch of SAGE app is easily the best way to get all the information you need about the dining program we offer here at TCA. Simply download it from the App Store or Play Store and create an account. You’ll enter your email, choose Parent or Student, enter the Zip Code of the school (75001) and then select TCA. From there you’ll be able to browse daily menus, plan meals for yourself and even rate daily items. This is a great way to let us know what your children like so that we can alter menus accordingly. The app also allows you to create a custom allergen profile, and you can view all the nutritional information on every item we prepare.
If you have questions about the menu, please contact Craig at cford@sagedining.com. If you have questions about your child’s allergy or medical need, please contact school nurse Vicki Gillespie at vgillespie@trinitychristian.org.

Sweet friendships refresh the soul and awaken our hearts with joy, for good friends are like the anointing oil that yields the fragrant incense of God’s presence.
Help spread the news about all the great things that go on all the time at TCA.
—Proverbs 27:9, The Passion Translation
Nothing quite bonds relationships with other believers like prayer and service. Deep, meaningful friendships are something we all hope and pray that each school year brings to not only our students but to us as well. Through MPACT we strive to build community and friendship through the fellowship of Mothers Praying A nd Coming Together. Please join us this year as we enter God’s presence to pray for our students, school community and each other and to worship our most faithful Father.
