FROM THE PULPIT I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Psalm 27: 13 Two years ago at the early Easter Sunday Service the sun had just risen as we started our worship. There were two swans on the water minding their own business and totally oblivious to the wonderful image they were creating just by being there. Much has happened since then. The Church still tries to bring the message of love, acceptance and eternal life. We still see ourselves as children of “The Living God”, and there is the hope that this will be the year that Christ will return to live with us. Every so often I ask myself if I am ready for His return. My answer for the last few years has been, “ready as I can be”. I know the Easter story. I believe in its message. It is what moves me forward so why would I not be ready? I have hoped for His return all my life. So until that day arrives I’ll concentrate on verse 13 of Psalm 27. Although Jesus has yet to return, the goodness of the Lord shall be seen in the land of the living. Happy Easter everyone. Jesus has risen! Hallelujah!

POINT-OF-VIEW I bring a good deal of skepticism to my faith. In that way I get Thomas when his friends rush to declare that Christ has risen and Thomas essentially says - Hey guys, people don't rise from the dead!! Only after confronted with the risen Lord does Thomas come around. It's that level of skepticism that I bring to my faith. Once a year, as we march toward Easter, I put my skepticism quite purposefully aside and embrace this time. I wave the palms as we parade into town. I feel the disciples fear and trepidation as Jesus tells them what is coming. I am angered by Judas' betrayal and am saddened by the guilt that brings him to take his own life. I cower with Peter as he denies his friend. I cringe as the Romans whip and beat Jesus. I weep with Mary as He dies. And I rejoice, in amazement, at His rising. Of equal importance to me is that as we march beyond Easter that you and I keep Him off of that cross and out of that tomb. That we work with the living Christ to make our world a better place.

Audio-Visual upgrades by Brian Ostrander Imagine hiring a new administrator but your office still had a rotary dial phone. Imagine hiring a new maintenance person but you only had a push manual mower. Now imagine tasking groups in our church to hire a new Music Director and a new Minister but we only have 40 year old presentation technology to offer. Now imagine that the new candidates have the choice of coming to Trinity-St. Andrew's with our late 1970s era sound system or to a United Church with updated sound a video technology. Where is it more likely for a modern music professional and a modern minister will chose? Please consider making a pledge to the AV upgrades by sending your information to av@trinitystandrews.ca 6

3rd Annual Clothing Depot Open house by Jean Finkle We held our 3rd Annual Open House February 17th 1-3 pm with Mayor Mark Walas attending with his favourable remarks, re: the contributions that our store provides to our community and offered his Many thanks on behalf of town council. The press was unable to attend and we will submit information and photos to the press for coverage, hopefully. We had 6 exhibitors/recipients in attendance and some of our available volunteers in attendance. Several of our volunteers provided wonderful goodies and we offered free tea, coffee, water and home baked treats to everyone. Thank you, ladies! Thanks to Derek Madder who set up the sound system. It worked perfectly. Although numbers were low, it was the consensus that we continue with this valuable and informative venue. There was so much information shared among the recipients and our volunteers. Great “brain storming”! ministry search by Brian Ostrander Your committee has been working hard to get the ball rolling so that we may begin a search for our new ministry personnel. As part of the process the surveys are printed and ready for you to complete. We ask that you prayerfully consider what it is you want for mission and ministry at Trinity-St. Andrew's for the coming years and what that ministry leadership will look like. Once we have your survey results the committee will analyze the results and prepare a position description for a new minister and offer our recommendation to TSA's congregation and presbytery. Once that has been approved we will be able to advertise for the position and begin an active recruitment process. Please remember that your surveys are due no later than April 8th.

Annual general meeting The Annual General Meeting has been set for April 8th.
