FROM THE PULPIT Executive Ministers for regional councils have been named by the Sub-Executive of the General Council on March 22, 2018. These appointments have been made in consultation with the leadership in Conferences and presbyteries and are provisional until the results of Remit 1 have been enacted by the 43rd General Council in July 2018. As Conferences and presbyteries plan and prepare for transition into the new regional council structure, the provisional Executive Ministers will work with the elected leadership in each region to determine staff requirements and fill new regional council positions that take effect January 1, 2019. Conference offices will remain open and presbyteries will continue to function until December 31, 2018. The Executive Ministers for our Region (Region 11) will be Rosemary Lambie, formerly Conference Executive Secretary of Synode MontrĂŠal & Ottawa Conference

POINT-OF-VIEW Spring has sprung.. finally!! It's hard to have that Easter feeling when the snow and ice are still falling down on us. It's hard to feel reawakened in the midst of the winter that never ends. But here we are. And as our Earth breathes a sigh of relief from a long winter. So to must we. And as we take in the freshness of Spring, let us also take in the Spirit of the Risen Christ. And as we do, let us realize that we must be more than just observers of His ways, we must be active participants in what He asks us to do and be. We must walk with Him, we must tend to those in need, we must be good stewards of our environment and our world. We must help heal this broken world. It is up to us to keep the cross bare and keep the tomb empty. It is up to us to always be walking with the Risen Christ.

ANNUAL YARD and PLANT SALE by Helen Bonisteel The Fundraising Committee of TrinitySt.Andrew’s United Church will be conducting our annual YARD and PLANT SALE in the Church Hall on May 4 and 5. As you do your spring cleaning, please set aside those treasures you no longer use or have room for in the house. If you are tired of dusting or moving an object I am sure we could use it for the yard sale: knicknacks, books, kids toys, etc. We are also hoping to have PLANTS for sale, so if you are splitting some perennials from your garden please think of the Church and set a few aside to help beautify another garden. Please, no large furniture, electronics or large exercise equipment. Drop-off of items can be left at the church on Thursday May 3 from 10 am until 6 pm. If you are unable to drop items off, please call Keith Smith 613 475-0728 to arrange for a pick-up. Your items will need to be at the door. We need VOLUNTEERS who can give us a few hours of their time to help set up tables and place articles on tables, on Thursday, May 3 as well as helping on Friday May 4 and 5 with the sale. Sign-up sheets will be available during Fellowship or call the office. This is a FUN TIME of socializing and getting to know other members of the congregation better, as well as meeting new people in the community. We hope that you can come out and join us.

search surveys by Brian Ostrander Thank you for completing the surveys that will help our committee form the Ministry Profile and Position Description to move our search forward. We sent out just over 300 surveys (including to people who no longer attend TSA) and received almost 120 back. That's an incredible result, at some point we will share some of the information we heard. In the meantime, we are hopeful that we will be able to present a Ministry Position Description to Church Council and the Pastoral Relations Commission of Presbytery, and then bring it to the congregation for your approval, in June. Once that is done we will be able to start advertising for the poition.

Annual general meeting by Brian Ostrander Thank you everyone who helps to make the AGM go so smoothly. We always seem to get a lot of work done in a reasonable amount of time and that speaks to us as a faith community. A very special thanks to Janet Enns for stepping up and taking the minutes for our meeting!!
