FROM THE PULPIT I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the lovely retirement Open House on May 26th. I feel quite honoured to have had so many people attend. Your cards, well wishes and kind words were very much appreciated and I will remember that afternoon for many years to come. I would also like to thank Trinity-St. Andrew’s for the beautiful Inuksuk sculpture from Hoselton Studio. If you have been to our home you know just how much this gift will be admired. Finally I would like to thank you for the opportunity to have been your minister for the past ten years. I will always treasure our time together.
Rev. Ken

POINT-OF-VIEW "Your're either going to love him or you're going to hate him". These were the words spoken to me by the chair of the Search committee 10 1/2 years ago when she told me that they would be recommending Church Council call Rev. Lewis to serve with us at Trinity-St. Andrew's. Really? That's how I think I replied. "He's exactly like you!" Was the response. Well, not exactly, but I'm confident that I can say, Ken and I get each other. He has been my minister, through some difficult times in our family, and he has become a good friend. So, I don't need to talk about him as if he's going away. But I do hope that he has a fun, relaxing, yet active retirement. So as always in the book of life, as one chapter comes to a conclusion, a new chapter is awaiting us on the next page. Trinity-St. Andrew's is a book filled with great stories, some yet to be told! So as we head into the Trumpet's summer hiatus, I hope that you will help us tell those new stories as we begin this next chapter!

From the Arm of the Chair by Ken McClintock I cannot believe how fast the year is flying by. Here we are nearing the e nd of June, but we have a lot on our plate. It was very encouraging to see the turnout of members of the Congregation for the meeting on Wed. night, June 13. This represents a big step forward for our Search Committee for our new minister. The other Search Committee for a Music Director is also ongoing. Hats off to the Fundraising Committee for the yard sale, talents and gifts auction, cheese sales, pie social, and the loonie and toonie bins. An enormous thank you to everyone who keeps our church running smoothly and looking great, you know who you are. As you look forward to services in the air conditioned hall, Barb and I are planning to get to the cottage for July and August. Have an enjoyable summer and we will see you in the fall.
Upcoming fundraisers Loonie and Toonie bins will be handed out in June. (To be returned in September) Annual corn roast August 15th. For more information contact Sharon McMullen (613) 475-2928

Golfing by Brian Ostrander We measure the success of every fundraiser by its ultimate goal to raise funds for our church. This year's golf tournament, saw a record low turn-out for golfers, with only 7 teams entered. We continue to have the support of businesses and congregants in our community who do not come out and golf. So despite this year's rain, and despite the low golfer turn-out, we stil managed to raise what will be in the $4500.00 range. And just as important, we managed to have another good, fun time on the links. Next year will be the 10th golf tournament and I will be bringing a our golf committee together early in the fall to start planning for a banner event. If you would like to help, or have ideas to offer, please let us know by sending a quick email to golf@trinitystandrews.ca
