If you are a first-time guest, please complete a guest card from a pew pocket or Friendship Register and drop it in the offering plate so that we may get acquainted with you. Also, text “Explore” to 816-355-4736. We would like to communicate with you via text and email with some brief informational messages over the next few weeks. Please see an usher if you’d like a listening aid. Each Sunday in the Welcome Center (just inside the Kansas Street entrance on Level 1), our Hospitality Team is waiting to help you get connected. This may include finding a Bible study class, showing you where children and student ministries meet, or sharing the day’s activities and schedule. You may also enjoy a cup of coffee at the Welcome Center’s coffee bar and get to know others at Second. Your entire family is welcome here! Children’s worship bags filled with books and activities are available at the Sanctuary entrances. If you’d like an alternative for your children, childcare for birth through Pre-K is available on Level 2 at any point in the service. Our Welcome Center is also available for those with restless infants, and you can view the service on a monitor there. In addition to placing your offering in the offering plate, you can give online at 2bcliberty.org/give or via your smartphone by scanning this QR code.
Take a moment to prepare your heart for worship…
To be fully human is to be recreated in the image of Christ's humanity; and that humanity is the perfect human "translation" of the relationship of the eternal Son to the eternal Father, a relationship of loving and adoring selfgiving, a pouring out of life towards the Other. Thus the humanity we are growing into in the Spirit, the humanity that we seek to share with the world as the fruit of Christ's redeeming work, is a contemplative humanity. And we seek this not because we are in search of some private "religious experience" that will make us feel secure or holy. We seek it because in this self-forgetting gazing towards the light of God in Christ we learn how to look at one another and at the whole of God's creation. . . . [This] allows us to see created reality for what it truly is in the sight of God, rather than what it is in terms of how we might use it or dominate it. — Rowan Williams
We have “online giving” cards in the pew rack that you can place in the offering plate to represent your gift if you choose.

Leader: Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. 2

Congregation: You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Leader: This is the Word of the Lord. Congregation: Thanks be to God. 6

First of all, come check us out! If you’d like to volunteer on Saturdays, contact Gwen Phillips at gphillips@2bcliberty.org or 816-729-5580. If you’re interested in learning more about our mission opportunity, ask Gwen. Pray for this endeavor. What a wonderful opportunity to help our Liberty community learn about buying products that make certain the people who produce the goods receive a fair price so as to reduce poverty.
