If you are a first-time guest, please complete a guest card from a pew pocket or Friendship Register and drop it in the offering plate so that we may get acquainted with you. Also, text “Explore” to 816-355-4736. We would like to communicate with you via text and email with some brief informational messages over the next few weeks. Please see an usher if you’d like a listening aid. Each Sunday in the Welcome Center (just inside the Kansas Street entrance on Level 1), our Hospitality Team is waiting to help you get connected. This may include finding a Bible study class, showing you where children and student ministries meet, or sharing the day’s activities and schedule. You may also enjoy a cup of coffee at the Welcome Center’s coffee bar and get to know others at Second. Your entire family is welcome here! Children’s worship bags filled with books and activities are available at the Sanctuary entrances. If you’d like an alternative for your children, childcare for birth through Pre-K is available on Level 2 at any point in the service. Our Welcome Center is also available for those with restless infants, and you can view the service on a monitor there. In addition to placing your offering in the offering plate, you can give online at 2bcliberty.org/give or via your smartphone by scanning this QR code. We have “online giving” cards in the pew rack that you can place in the offering plate to represent your gift if you choose.
Take a moment to prepare your heart for worship…
The way of the Christian leader is not the way of upward mobility in which our world has invested so much, but the way of downward mobility ending on the cross. The Christian leader of the future is called to be completely irrelevant and to stand in this world with nothing to offer but his or her own vulnerable self. That is the way Jesus came to reveal God's love. The great message that we have to carry, as ministers of God's Word and followers of Jesus, is that God loves us not because of what we do or accomplish, but because God has created and redeemed us in love and has chosen us to proclaim that love as the true source of all human life.” ― Henri J.M. Our days are full and busy and we go to bed tired, but we have learned a lot and loved a lot. The Colombian kids are adorable and our ministry opportunities have all been going well. Yesterday we served at two before/after school kids centers. We did a Bible story as well as crafts and games with the groups. A couple of parents as well as 2 high school students from Megan's school joined us to help with translating and serving with us. Then last night we served dinner to a family who works with street kids in Colombia. They serve with Youth With A Mission. They have a couple of group homes on their property where kids and house parents live. We cooked for 20 of them.
Today we are heading to El Camino, where we will be for 2 days running a VBS program. El Camino is the school that Megan has taught at for 2 years. We are excited to show you pictures and share about our time here. MUSIC 2BC SUMMER SINGERS Join us in the choir loft in June and July!
