If you are a first-time guest, we invite you to complete a guest card from a pew pocket or the Friendship Register and drop it in the offering plate so that we may get acquainted with you. Also, text “Explore” to 816-355-4736. We would like to communicate with you via text and email with some brief informational messages over the next few weeks. Your information is private and will not be used for any other purpose than to keep you informed about 2BC. Please see an usher if you’d like a listening aid. Each Sunday in the Welcome Center (just inside the Kansas Street entrance on Level 1), our Hospitality Team is waiting to help you get connected. This may include finding a Bible study class, showing you where children and student ministries meet, or sharing the day’s activities and schedule. You may also enjoy a cup of coffee at the Welcome Center’s coffee bar and get to know others at Second.

Take a moment to prepare your heart for worship

“I imagine that the first question the priest and Levite asked was: ‘If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?’ But by the very nature of his concern, the good Samaritan reversed the question: ‘If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?’” Martin Luther King Jr., Strength to Love

Children’s worship bags, filled with books and activities, are available at the Sanctuary entrances. If you’d like an alternative for your children, childcare for birth through Pre-K is available on Level 2 at any point in the service. Our Welcome Center is also available for those with restless infants, and you can view the service on a monitor there.

In addition to placing your offering in the offering plate, you can give online at 2bcliberty.org/give or via your smartphone by scanning this QR code. We have “online giving” cards in the pew rack that you can place in the offering plate to represent your gift if you choose.

MISSIONS WOMEN ON MISSION No July Meeting BOOK AND A BUCK Books: Our collection of books ended today. Are you wondering what a ton of books look like? Here's what you have already donated. Outstanding work, 2BC!

Bucks: It costs about 40 cents a pound to ship materials in large containers. One ton of books would cost about $800 to ship. We have collected about $200 so far so your donations are always welcome! July 22 - 27 "Books and a Buck" SEND Initiative to North Carolina Come on! Join a group of 2BC members for a 6day mission trip to Shelby, North Carolina, to deliver and box the books we've been collecting. This is a great opportunity for families, middleagers, and seniors to take part in a short-term mission trip at a low cost, missing only four days of work—leaving on Saturday morning and returning Thursday night. One night will be spent on the road going to Shelby, three nights there in dorm-style housing, and one night on the way coming back. We've reserved the People Mover. We will have Good Times on the Road! An informational meeting will be held after church on Sunday, July 9, at 12:15 in room 505. We'll serve a light lunch of make-your-own

sandwiches and will go over details of the trip. If you have an interest in knowing more, please contact Karen Rogers (email and phone on the Hub). If you can't make that meeting, contact Karen, and she'll arrange another meeting time and place with you.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT MEALS FOR 2017-2018 We have enjoyed the variety of delicious meals when we gather on Wednesday evening each week from late August to early May. This is possible because of teams being responsible for one meal each month. (So many good cooks and so little time.) These teams also have had creative names: Amazing Grazing, Tender Mercies, Women of a Certain Age (WOCA), The Church Ladies, and The Cracked Pot Slow Cookers to name a few. We need to add at least two more teams this year. Teams will be responsible for four meals through the end of the year and five meals in 2018. Teams use a budget to choose the menu, purchase the food, prepare and serve the meal at 5:30 p.m.. We have a paid dishwasher each week, so teams do not need to worry about cleanup. The fellowship around the tables always starts the Wednesday night programming on a good note. If you are willing to form a team or to be a part of a team, contact Mike. There will be a brief meeting Sunday morning July 23 at 9:15 a.m. in the Social Room for those interested, and more information will be available.
