If you are a first-time guest, please complete a guest card from a pew pocket or Friendship Register and drop it in the offering plate so that we may get acquainted with you. Also, text “Explore” to 816-355-4736. We would like to communicate with you via text and email with some brief informational messages over the next few weeks. Please see an usher if you’d like a listening aid. Each Sunday in the Welcome Center (just inside the Kansas Street entrance on Level 1), our Hospitality Team is waiting to help you get connected. This may include finding a Bible study class, showing you where children and student ministries meet, or sharing the day’s activities and schedule. You may also enjoy a cup of coffee at the Welcome Center’s coffee bar and get to know others at Second.
Take a moment to prepare your heart for worship… “God’s presence is everywhere around us. God is able to penetrate, intertwine himself within the fibers of the human self, in such a way that those who are enveloped in God’s loving companionship will never be alone.” Our failure to hear God’s voice when we want to is due to the fact that we do not in general want to hear it, that we want it only when we think we need it.” ― Dallas Willard, Hearing God: Developing a Conversational Relationship with God “God spoke to you by so many voices but you would not hear.” ― James Joyce, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man
Your entire family is welcome here! Children’s worship bags filled with books and activities are available at the Sanctuary entrances. If you’d like an alternative for your children, childcare for birth through Pre-K is available on Level 2 at any point in the service. Our Welcome Center is also available for those with restless infants, and you can view the service on a monitor there. In addition to placing your offering in the offering plate, you can give online at 2bcliberty.org/give or via your smartphone by scanning this QR code. We have “online giving” cards in the pew rack that you can place in the offering plate to represent your gift if you choose.

“In Christ There Is No East or West”
ST. PETER
In Christ there is no east or west, in him no south or north, but one great fellowship of love throughout the whole wide earth. In Christ shall true hearts everywhere their high communion find; his service is the golden cord close-binding humankind. Join hands, disciples of the faith, whate'er your race may be. All children of the living God are surely kin to me. In Christ now meet both east and west; in him meet south and north. All Christly souls are one in him throughout the whole wide earth. CHURCHWIDE Please note: The church office will be closed Monday, July 4, for Independence Day. WEDNESDAY NIGHT MEALS BEGIN AUG. 24: WE’D LOVE TO BRING BACK COOKING TEAMS! Again this fall through spring 2017, we will offer a meal on Wednesday nights from 5:45-6:30 p.m. Two years ago, we had Cooking Teams that volunteered each Wednesday to prepare delicious meals. Last year, with fewer groups involved, we supplemented with meals from HyVee. People really enjoyed the variety we had two years ago, and have asked for the groups to return each week. From Aug. 24 to May 10 we will have 34 Wednesday meals. Would you be willing to form a team and provide just three meals during that time? That’s all. People enjoy eating together each week, and the groups have enhanced the entire Wednesday night experience. Currently, there is a steady dishwashing and final cleanup crew each week to take care of those elements. We have a weekly budget, and meals can be as creative or simple as you want We will have a short meeting in the Social Room Sunday, July 10, at 9 a.m. to discuss logistics. If you can’t make the meeting, contact Mike at mlassiter@2bcliberty.org with a “yes,” and we will form a team for three Wednesdays.
