If you are a first-time guest, we invite you to complete a guest card from a pew pocket or the Friendship Register and drop it in the offering plate so that we may get acquainted with you. Also, text “Explore” to 816-355-4736. We would like to communicate with you via text and email with some brief informational messages over the next few weeks. Your information is private and will not be used for any other purpose than to keep you informed about 2BC. Please see an usher if you’d like a listening aid. Each Sunday in the Welcome Center (just inside the Kansas Street entrance on Level 1), Our Hospitality Team is waiting to help you get connected. This may include finding a Bible study class, showing you where children and student ministries meet, or sharing the day’s activities and schedule. You may also enjoy a cup of coffee at the Welcome Center’s coffee bar and get to know others at Second. Children’s worship bags, filled with books and activities, are available at the Sanctuary entrances. If you’d like an alternative for your children, childcare for birth through Pre-K is available on Level 2 at any point in the service. Our Welcome Center is also available for those with restless infants, and you can view the service on a monitor there.
Take a moment to prepare your heart for worship. “Resentment and gratitude cannot coexist, since resentment blocks the perception and experience of life as a gift. My resentment tells me that I don't receive what I deserve. It always manifests itself in envy.” “For most of my life I have struggled to find God, to know God, to love God. I have tried hard to follow the guidelines of the spiritual life—pray always, work for others, read the Scriptures— and to avoid the many temptations to dissipate myself. I have failed many times but always tried again, even when I was close to despair. “Now I wonder whether I have sufficiently realized that during all this time God has been trying to find me, to know me, and to love me. The question is not “How am I to find God?” but “How am I to let myself be found by him?” The question is not “How am I to know God?” but “How am I to let myself be known by God?” And, finally, the question is not “How am I to love God?” but “How am I to let myself be loved by God?” God is looking into the distance for me, trying to find me, and longing to bring me home.” “Be compassionate just as your Father is compassionate.” ― Henri J.M. Nouwen, Return of the Prodigal Son
In addition to placing your offering in the offering plate, you can give online at 2bcliberty.org/give or via your smartphone by scanning this QR code. We have “online giving” cards in the pew rack that you can place in the offering plate to represent your gift if you choose.

The counselor from Schumacher elementary school has contacted us about a family in need. The children in this family had been sleeping on the floor. A 2BC member donated a twin bed. Now we are in search of bedding for this bed and for a full-size bed that has already been donated to the family. If you can help meet these needs, please contact Debbie Lane. MANY HANDS FAIR TRADE SHOP Saturdays | 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Fourth Fridays, October 27 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. “With many hands, the load is not heavy.” Haitian Proverb The Many Hands Fair Trade Shop exists to showcase amazing quality fair trade products made by artisans and farmers around the world. Purchases help support those farmers and artisans directly. What can fair trade mean for an artisan? It can empower men and women around the world who struggle to provide for their families and themselves. By providing a channel for these artisans to sell their products, we are offering them an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and embrace a better life. The shop is open regularly on Saturdays from 9:30 – 1:30. We are also committed to downtown Liberty’s 4th Fridays and are open from 4:00 – 9:00 on those evenings every month. Products are changing all the time, depending on what organizations have sent us current orders. When you are looking for that perfect gift for someone special, Many Hands is a great place to shop. If you want to find something that can benefit you plus make a difference to the designer, fair trade products are perfect for you! Here are just three examples of what you could find: delicious coffee from several different regions in the world; hand-woven baskets made in Bangladesh, Uganda, Ghana; jewelry, sandals and metal ornaments from Haiti. You just have to come and see for yourself.

Truett Seminary’s Certificate Program teaches lay people and ministers online at a non-academic level. We provide simple yet substantial theological education that is deeper than Sunday School, but is more accessible and flexible than a masters degree. We are pleased to announce that after a great deal of preparation, we have now published our new course CMP06 - Pastoral Care. Suitable for laypeople and pastors Covers providing care in times of crisis Theological foundations of caregiving Practical instruction of caregiving All Christians are ministers of the Gospel in their own communities and families, regardless of whether they hold a title in the church, and providing care to people in times of crisis and tragedy is a consistent need. In this course we seek to help our students develop maturity and compassion while building an informed approach to providing care in times of crisis and anxiety.
