If you are a first-time guest, we invite you to complete a guest card from a pew pocket or the Friendship Register and drop it in the offering plate so that we may get acquainted with you. Also, text “Explore” to 816-355-4736. We would like to communicate with you via text and email with some brief informational messages over the next few weeks. Your information is private and will not be used for any other purpose than to keep you informed about 2BC. Please see an usher if you’d like a listening aid. Each Sunday in the Welcome Center (just inside the Kansas Street entrance on Level 1), Our Hospitality Team is waiting to help you get connected. This may include finding a Bible study class, showing you where children and student ministries meet, or sharing the day’s activities and schedule. You may also enjoy a cup of coffee at the Welcome Center’s coffee bar and get to know others at Second. Children’s worship bags, filled with books and activities, are available at the Sanctuary entrances. If you’d like an alternative for your children, childcare for birth through Pre-K is available on Level 2 at any point in the service. Our Welcome Center is also available for those with restless infants, and you can view the service on a monitor there.
In addition to placing your offering in the offering plate, you can give online at 2bcliberty.org/give or via your smartphone by scanning this QR code. We have “online giving” cards in the pew rack that you can place in the offering plate to represent your gift if you choose.
Take a moment to prepare your heart for worship. An Advent Prayer by Walter Brueggemann In our secret yearnings we wait for your coming, and in our grinding despair we doubt that you will. And in this privileged place we are surrounded by witnesses who yearn more than do we and by those who despair more deeply than do we. Look upon your church and its pastors in this season of hope which runs so quickly to fatigue and in this season of yearning which becomes so easily quarrelsome. Give us the grace and the impatience to wait for your coming to the bottom of our toes, to the edges of our fingertips. We do not want our several worlds to end. Come in your power and come in your weakness in any case and make all things new. Amen.

SAFETY & SECURITY TEAM UPDATE The Safety & Security Team is a behind the scenes team. However, we are also very active. Since late summer, the team has met regularly and gathered resources to guide our work. We are very fortunate to have persons on the team with civilian police, military, nursing, and security experience. We welcome the opportunity to bring this kind of experience as a ministry for our church. We are currently developing plans for a variety of emergency situations so should or when they arise, not only are we prepared but we will have prepared you. You will see our presence providing street crossing for night events, we will be present in times we gather in worship and at other large events, being aware of entrances and exits to the building, and oversight of where our children are just to name a few ways we are working. We are adjusting the locking of doors to happen 10-15 minutes after worship has begun. Those inside can always exit whenever they choose. We are taking bids on camera monitoring systems and updating the door scheduling software. Members of the team include: Blane Baker Bryan Boyd Bob Corum
