Shark Alert! Hat/Glove/Mitten Drive for Schumacher Elementary Jan. 3-13 The School Connections Team will be holding a hat/mitten/glove drive Jan.3 – 13. We welcome handmade and store bought donations. Everything we collect will be given to students at Schumacher Elementary. Drop your donations in the box in the Welcome Center.
TWO OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN ABOUT 2016 MISSION TRIPS
Sunday, January 10, following 11 A.M. worship | Wednesday, January 27, 6:30-7:15 p.m. Sunday we will have soup and Wednesday night follows the meal. At both times, receive more information or have your questions answered from team or trip leaders. The opportunities for 2016 include Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota; Grand Goave, Haiti; Bogota, Colombia; Rebuilding Together Clay County; the Second Baptist Church Christmas Store; In As Much Ministries; a local garden at Harvest Hill for food pantries; the School Connection Team; and running for the cause of clean water in Africa with Team World Vision. In addition, you can learn how the SEND Initiative may help you with an opportunity you are passionate about. New Online Giving Option Available Now! We have changed our vendor for online giving to VANCO. As before, those who wish to give online will find an icon at 2bcliberty.org/give which will lead you directly to VANCO, so you can use your debit/credit card to donate to the church. (The church does not have access to your card information.) If you currently give a recurring gift online: If you are currently donating with recurring gifts online, you must stop the gifts in the old system and set them up in the new system. 1. Visit 2bcliberty.org/give. 2. Click the link that says "Cancel recurring gifts through old giving system" and log in to your account. 3. Under the "My Giving Solutions" menu, click "My Active Recurring Requests." 4. Click "Stop" next to any recurring gifts.

To start giving one-time or recurring gifts in our new system: 1. Visit 2bcliberty.org/give or scan the QR code at right with a QR code scanning app on your smartphone. 2. You'll be guided through a one-time process to set up your account and, if you choose, your recurring gifts. We continue to offer an automatic withdrawal option from your bank for your convenience, and more information about signing up for that is available from Linda Jones, Church Administrator, ljones@2bcliberty.org. The advantage of giving online, through the mobile app or through an ACH withdrawal for you and the church is that you can determine a set amount, and it will come to the church automatically even though you might be out of town or might forget your checkbook. For any additional information or help getting set up to give online, please contact Linda Jones.

Time with N. T. Wright and Friends class
Begins Jan. 10; ongoing with brief breaks | 9:45 a.m. | Rm. 413 Time with N.T. Wright and Friends begins Jan. 10 and is led by Tana Clement. Throught the late winter and spring months, various books from N.T. Wright will be studied. Wright is one of the world’s top biblical scholars, a prolific author, and the Bishop of Durham for the Church of England. Though a scholar, his writing is easily accessible.

Attitudes about Children & Student Programs at 2BC Amongst parents of our children and students, strong agreement exists that we provide programming that allows them to learn about the Bible. However, parents of students believe that additional Bible study options should be offered for their kids. Safety and security of our children and youth is of prime importance within our ministries. Parents of Elementary children and Youth agree that we provide a safe and secure environment. Parents of children aged Birth to PreK believe that we have opportunity to improve the safety and security for their children.

Ministerial Staff Action Steps: • We will be talking with youth and parents of youth to better understand what additional bible study options would be beneficial for them • We will be fostering open communication about the safety and security concerns with our parents of Birth to Pre-K children and evaluating solutions to address these concerns An additional analysis will be provided in the monthly version of the January Loop.
