Lenten Devotional Now Available Our 2016 Lenten Devotional booklet is available now! This season’s focus is on The Gospel of the Nobodies. As well as devotionals to guide us for each Sunday of Lent and for each day of Holy Week, we’ll also read through the Gospel of Luke as a church family. It will serve to remind us how Jesus, by His example, turned the way we treat one another — especially the undervalued and our own personal feelings of unworthiness — upside down.

• •

Options to receive the Lenten Devotional: • Visit 2bcliberty.org/lent2016 to read them on a computer or device. Receive the devotionals each morning via email. If you already receive the weekly eblasts, you'll get the devotional emails as well. Sign up on the homepage at 2bcliberty.org to get on the list! Pick up a hard copy at the Welcome Center desk

What Do I Believe? Part 2 Study

Feb. 14-March 20 | Social Room | Led by David May Using Boyd & Eddy’s book Across The Spectrum, the class explores the basic issues of evangelical theology in a contemporary world. It is relevant, helpful and will seed your spiritual growth. You do not need to have attended part 1.

Forgiveness, A Lenten Study

Feb. 21 through Easter morning, March 27 | Social Room Marjorie Thompson, author of Forgiveness, A Lenten Study and also well known for Soul Feast, says “Forgiveness is the healing stream flowing out from the crucified Christ over a world that does not know how desperately it needs the healing.” We need forgiveness and we need to learn to forgive. This study, led by John Shank, will help us find the freedom found in forgiveness.

Senior Adult Coffee & Conversation

Monday, Feb. 15 | 1 p.m. | Social Room Our Senior Adult Ministry hosts a twice-monthly Coffee & Conversation in the Social Room open to all. No reservations needed!

New Security Procedure The church is updating the current security procedures beginning immediately in regard to the church doors. The building doors will be unlocked for events 15 minutes prior to the event and will be locked again 10 minutes after the event is scheduled to start. If you have late arrivers at your meeting, you will need to station someone at the door to let those latecomers in, or ask them to call someone already in the building for access. Please do not prop the door open for those late arrivers. Wednesday night and Sunday morning activities will not be affected by this change. Our concern is for the safety of all persons in the building. Often doors can be left open with no one monitoring them, and this could lead to persons entering the building without our knowledge. Thank you for your assistance in protecting our children and others who use our building.

It is amazing to see congregational involvement growing all over the church. We have just finished celebrating Volunteer Appreciation Month which ended with our Ministry Fair. Many of you were exposed to ministries and groups that you didn’t know existed and expressed interest in becoming more involved. The HUB reflects the growing involvement by the number of groups and the participants in those groups. When we began using the HUB, the hope was that it would be a user-friendly tool that church members could access, and even maintain their own information (i.e. address, phone, email, etc.). This same thought extends to groups. As the number of groups grow, so does the amount of group information in the HUB. But with each group comes a group leader and, low-and-behold, that group leader has the ability to maintain their own group information (i.e. descriptions, messages, calendar, participants, etc.). So now, Group Leaders, here is a task. Sign into the HUB (which you can access on the upper-right corner of 2bcliberty.org), and from your home page, click on a group along the right side (under My Groups) to which you are assigned as a Leader. The Group Information screen appears, and near the top right of the screen is a box labeled “Group Actions”. From the drop-down menu, choose “Edit Participant list”. All the people assigned as members of that group will be listed. Please review the list and make adjustments as necessary: • Add a member that is not listed: In the upper right, under “Actions”, click “Add or invite new people” and choose the “People by Name” option. • Remove someone who is no longer a member of that group: Check the box to the left of the person to be removed, then, above the name column is a box “If checked, set group status to “. Click, choose “Remove from group” and the click OK. As always, if you have trouble, just contact me and we can figure things out together. Ellen Gregory, HUB Specialist egregory@2bcliberty.org
