The Rundown Sunday, July 19, at 5:00pm we are having an informational meeting for anyone who is in any way related with Student Ministries (as well as any who aren't but want to be)! This will be a chance to get to know Charles a little better, talk about future possibilities for our Student Ministries, what's coming up on the horizon, and ask any questions or address any concerns that we may have. We will not provide food but we will provide excellent discussion, so plan to eat before you come and bring your great thoughts, questions, and ideas! After the meeting, students are invited to stick around for Innermission from 6-8p.m.!

Making the Good News Good Again, Recovering the Wonder of the Gospel by Judson Edwards. Edwards has been a pastor for more than 30 years. In this book, he asks questions shared by many longtime Christians. Wouldn’t it be great if the Bible fascinated us once again? Wouldn’t we do almost anything to sense the presence of God anew in our lives? Wouldn’t we pay almost anything to get the wonder back?

STEPHEN MINISTRY UPDATE As a church family, we are intentionally participating in a period of renewal. As a part of it, Stephen Ministry is undergoing renewal, too. Two of our leaders, Suzie Boggess and Angie McElhaney, have attended the formal training in Orlando and returned reenergized, invigorated and excited for a renewed ministry. In the fall, we will commission our new Stephen Minister, Martha Reppert, during a worship service, so stay tuned for updates. We also would like to be a part of your renewal experience. Summer can become busy with vacations, reunions and other activities, making it difficult to concentrate on spiritual renewal. If you find yourself challenged or simply don't know how to experience renewal in the midst of all that is going on in your life, give us a call and have a Stephen Minister walk with you these few weeks. You will be amazed at the difference it could make! Contact Mike Lassiter at 816-781-2824 or Carol Kingery at 816-916-8407 to get connected.

Meet Sergio! We want to introduce you to Sergio our dayporter on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Sergio is an employee of City-Wide Janitorial Service which is the new cleaning service for Second Baptist. Sergio became our day-porter last week and I encourage you to introduce yourself to him and make him feel welcome. He will be here from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sundays. Sergio is willing and able to help in any way possible. If you have a request, questions or need to arrange a set up for a special event, please contact Linda Jones at ljones@2bcliberty or 816-781-2824 so that she can communicate those needs to Sergio.
