An All Saints Music Experience

The Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra will present “Requiem for the Living� by Dan Forrest. This wonderfully beautiful work will be a significant event for our church and community, especially for those with a spiritual or emotional need or difficult life situations.

Childcare is available for birth through kindergarten.

The recognition and remembrance of those we have lost can be challenging, and this could be a time when a 2BC Stephen Minister could help. Ministers will be present at the service.

Roses for All Saints’ Day Nov. 1 | in both worship services At 2BC, All Saints’ Day is an occasion to remember loved ones who have died during the last year. At the worship service of your choice (8:30 am or 11:00 a.m.), you or another person of your choice will have the opportunity to place a rose on our Lord’s Supper table in memory of your loved one. The roses are a gift from our congregation; you do not need to bring a rose with you. Contact Maggie Henderson at 816-781-2824 or mhenderson@2bcliberty.org if you would like to participate so we will have a rose ready for you.

Church Conference Meeting/Lunch Sunday, Oct. 25 | noon | Social Room You have a great opportunity to learn more about the important work 2BC is doing when you attend our next quarterly Church Conference meeting. Lunch will be provided, and church members will have a chance to approve the Leadership Development committee members, hear a Catalyst 2.0 mid-point update, and catch up on other church business. No RSVP needed; a $5 donation will be accepted for lunch.

Here’s how you can be involved:

Trunk ‘R Treat is a great opportunity to reach out to our community by providing a fun and safe place for the neighborhood kids to trick-or-treat.

Decorate your trunk: We need about 10 more trunks! If you’d like to decorate your car’s trunk and hand out candy, contact Maggie Henderson at mhenderson@2bcliberty.org or 816-781-2324. Your decorations can be very simple or elaborate; just have fun with it!

Provide candy: We’ll need lots of individually-wrapped candy to hand out! Bring donations to the church office.

Invite friends: Postcards are available in the Welcome Center for you to use to invite friends to come with you!

New Prayer Walk Opportunity Meet at 2BC Fridays at 9:00 a.m.

A note from Cathy Baker, Deacon Chairperson: As a member of the Deacon body at 2BC, prayer is a huge element in everything we do. But most of the time, our corporate prayer takes place during our meetings. God has placed it on my heart to begin a Friday morning Prayer Walk group, and I would love for you to join me. This walk will focus mainly on our church and congregation, so we’ll begin in the sanctuary and walk around the entire church, inside and out, praying for God’s will, wisdom and direction, all those that come and go through the doors throughout the week, our staff and volunteers, the building and its safety, our friends and neighbors, and whatever and wherever else the Spirit leads us. We’ll let God shape us and mold us into His vision for the group!

Ed Chasteen Receives Award Ed Chasteen, Second Baptist Ambassador to other Faith Groups will be the Vern Barnett Interfaith Service Award at the Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Community Dinner at the Community Christian Church in Kansas City. There will be childrens' crafts, special music and time to reflect with gratitude to God.

Bring Your Own Pumpkin Tonight!

Oct. 25 | 6-8 p.m. | Social Room Sunday, Oct. 25, during Innermission time will be our annual Bring Your Own Pumpkin party (B.Y.O.P.)!

We'll eat Halloween treats, watch Halloween movies and carve Jack O'Lanterns! Feel free to wear your Halloween costumes too!

Sunday Night Small Group Discussions Beginning Sunday, Nov. 1, we are going to extend our Innermission time to 8:00 p.m. to incorporate Small Group discussions. During these times, we will divide into Middle and High School groups. This will allow us to focus our conversations and help facilitate spiritual growth in a more relevant and applicable way. Charles will lead the Middle School group while Tom Lankford will lead the High School group.

2BC wants to send a Fall Finals care package to your student to let them know we're thinking about them.

Opportunities to serve

Be Part of the School Engagement Team 1st Meeting: Nov. 2, 7 p.m. | Welcome Center There are 500-600 children in the Lillian Schumacher Elementary School here in Liberty, many of whom live at or below the poverty level. These families need support that local churches can provide. Some of that support is very tangible, like winter coats, food to supplement their weekend nutrition, and adults in their lives who care about them and help them during part of their school day. 2BC has already responded by donating coats and sweatshirts these past few weeks.

Debbie Lane is responding to the call of God in her life to help meet those needs. Debbie retired at the end of this past school year and has filled her life with meaningful ministry by leading the School Connections Team. This team’s purpose is to reach out to local families, support the children's educational needs through the school system, and to support the faculty and staff at Schumacher School.

If you would like to be part of the School Connections Team, contact Debbie Lane at debbielane71861@gmail. com. The first organizational meeting of the team is Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Welcome Center. Please invite anyone you think might be interested.

Coffee Bar Help Needed Be a welcoming face at our Coffee Bar! Three Sunday shifts are available: Set Up beginning at 8:15 Coffee Hosts starting at 9:15 Clean Up after coffee service is finished.

Place in the bins inside each entrance One of the tangible ways we participate in ministry in our community is by collecting for the Link Food Pantry of In As Much Ministry, which serves 900+ families per quarter. The following items are needed: Beans: green, baked, kidney, red, refried, chili, pork-n-beans; ramen noodles, sloppy joes, enchilada sauce, salsa, broth, rice sides, snack crackers, pineapple, peaches, pears, fruit cocktail, mandarin oranges, tomato sauce/paste, jello and pudding—regular/sugar free, sugar, evaporated milk, brownie mix, cake mix, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soap, body wash, dish/laundry soap.
