Too Deep for Words PENTECOST | May 24, 2015

Welcome Guests If you are a first-time guest, please complete a guest card from a pew pocket or Friendship Register and drop it in the offering plate so that we may acknowledge your visit and get acquainted with you. We are glad you have joined us for worship today. ________________________ Meditation Prayer is then not just a formula of words, or a series of desires springing up in the heart—it is the orientation of our whole body, mind, and spirit to God in silence, attention, and adoration. All good, meditative prayer is a conversion of our entire self to God. – Thomas Merton _________________________________

COMMUNION at SECOND BAPTIST Communion at Second Baptist Church is open to all who profess Jesus Christ as Savior. Our Communion Bread is always gluten-free. This morning we will celebrate communion by intinction. During the service, you will be invited to exit your pew to the right, walk to the front of the sanctuary, take a piece of bread, dip it into the cup, and then return to the left. _________________________________ WE LOVE OUR CHILDREN! Your entire family is welcome here! Children’s worship bags filled with books and activities are available at the Sanctuary entrances. If you’d like an alternative for your children, childcare for birth through Pre-K is available on Level 2 at any point in the service. Our Welcome Center is also available for those with restless infants, and you can view the service on a monitor there. __________________________________ Note: + Indicates stand if you are able. | Please see an usher for a listening aid. Give your tithe online now at 2bcliberty.org/giving. Online givers may participate in the worship offering by using the card in the pew rack.

“When Speaking Has Ceased” The Sanctuary Choir

Jason Edwards Craig Courtney

When speaking has ceased and the room has grown still, When solitude creeps over valley and hill, The Spirit of God finds a place to alight And puts our vain fears and our trembling to flight. O Spirit of God, fill the earth with Your joy, Give voice to our song that our praise may employ Your well-spring of peace to fill ev’ry bare space With sweet notes of gladness and fair tones of grace. When clamor and noise fill the world with their sounds, When harmony flees and loud tumult abounds, The Spirit of God is not driven away; He quiets our heart and forever will stay. O Spirit of God, rising lighter than air, Lift high to the Lord all the weight of our prayers, No burden we carry is ever unknown; No friend of the Spirit is ever alone. Never alone.
