OUR GUEST PREACHER: HEATHER ENTREKIN Dr. Heather Entrekin is Des Peres Associate Professor of Congregational Health at Central Baptist Seminary in Shawnee, Kansas. She also directs the Doctor of Ministry program at the seminary. She formerly served as Senior Pastor at Prairie Baptist Church in Prairie Village,©1990 Kansas. Heather and husband, Peter Broadman Press Stover, an environmental engineer, make their home in Leawood along with three big dogs and more tropical fish than they can count.

GETTING TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER Worship Leaders Today
Ed Gilliland has been a member since 1984. He enjoys helping with various tasks at the church and can often be found driving the shuttle for Second Friends Preschool, missions, and children and students. He and his wife, Mary, especially like spending time with their grandchildren, Dak and Dani. Mike and Sue Hasty have four children and seven grandchildren. Mike is director of Public Safety for the City of Gladstone, serving as both the Police Chief and Fire Chief. Sue is a Senior Human Resources Associate at Ferrellgas. Erin Hilton and Mark are parents to Josie, Adelyn and Zane Thomas. She works at Children’s Mercy Hospital and is active in MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) here at Second. Mark Hilton has attended 2BC all his life. He currently leads the middle school group on Wednesday night as well as helping with Student Innermission on Sunday evenings. Mark is a deacon and works at Honeywell. Alyssa Hoffman finished second grade at Ravenwood Elementary. She is the daughter of Amy and Thom Hoffman. Lisa Long joined 2BC in 2008 along with her family. She is the choir and handbell director at Fire Prairie Middle School in Independence and is active in the Music Ministry at Second.

Getting Connected Each Sunday in the Welcome Center (just inside the Kansas Street entrance on Level 1), our Connections Team is waiting to help you get “connected.” This may include finding a Bible study class, showing you where children and student ministries meet, or sharing the days’ activities and schedule. You may also choose simply to enjoy a cup of coffee at the Welcome Center’s coffee bar and get to know others at Second.
