 WELCOME TYLER TANKERSLEY

Tyler Tankersley recently began a new phase in his career as Director of the Create Program at Central Baptist Theological Seminary here in Kansas City. Previously, Tyler served as Associate Pastor for Students and Spiritual Formation here at Second Baptist. Tyler has earned degrees from Southeast Missouri State University (B.A. in Anthropology) and Central Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.). Tyler previously served as Director of Young Adult Ministry at First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, MO and also as Campus Minister at the Baptist Student Center at Southeast Missouri State University. Tyler and his wife, Jess, are parents to Henry, age 2, and are expecting a second son in September. We welcome Tyler to the pulpit today.

GETTING TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER Worship Leaders Today

Teresa Anderson is married to Matt and works in healthcare information technology. She and Matt share their home with their cat, Gus. Nick Bartlow has been at Second since 2000. He chairs the 2BC Leadership Development Committee and leads a cooking team on Wednesday nights. He is the Director of Commercialization at Farmland Foods. He and Carrie have three children: Wakefield, Ramsey and Deacon. Lindsey and Emmy Gregory are the daughters of Larry and Ellen Gregory. Lindsey is a senior at the University of Missouri at Columbia and Emmy is a senior at Liberty North High School. Steve Hemphill is retired from the U.S. State Department as well as from a career as a Missouri prosecutor. He lives in the historic Hester House adjacent to William Jewell College and hosts a Jewell student from Kosovo, Labi Ibrahimi. Carol Kingery is a Stephen Minister and Co-Coordinator for the Stephen Leader Team. Carol and Drew have been members of 2BC since 1998. Erin and Tom Lankford have been members of 2BC since 1988. They raised all three of their children here at 2BC and are now enjoying the fruits of their labor, playing grandparents to Jillian, Madie, Luke and most recently Faith and Melody. Erin is active in the 2BC Children’s Ministry and Tom teaches an adult Bible study on Sunday mornings as well. Lisa Long and Don joined 2BC with their family in 2008. She serves as the choir and hand bell director at Fire Prairie Middle School in Independence and is active in the Music Ministry at Second. Steve Ritter and Tammy have two sons and three grandchildren. Steve is retired from GE Energy. The Ritters have been members of Second since l989. Sara Rodgers is a first grader at Lewis and Clark Elementary. She is the daughter of Gary and Laura Rodgers.


Getting Connected Each Sunday in the Welcome Center (just inside the Kansas Street entrance on Level 1), our Connections Team is waiting to help you get “connected.” This may include finding a Bible study class, showing you where children and student ministries meet, or sharing the days’ activities and schedule. You may also choose simply to enjoy a cup of coffee at the Welcome Center’s coffee bar and get to know others at Second.
