MARKETING PROJECTS: Milk Drive The milk drive is Tugon’s recent effort to provide milk for our partner institutions that cater to babies and toddlers. Starting this September, Tugon’s marketing team will contact milk companies to aid the institutions’ need for milk products for our growing babies.

CSR The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the aspect of a company which refers to their efforts for the society’s social good. This project aims to invite companies that are related to women and children to include Tugon in their CSRs. Tugon aims to form a yearlong partnership with the company in exchange for goods that will be given to Tugon and its efforts.

Change Can Change This is a fundraising project that involves contacting all kinds of corporate sponsors and asking their permission to leave donation cans in their establishments. This allows Tugon to both raise funds for our efforts against child sexual abuse and abandonment and to raise awareness for our advocacy. If you know an establishment that would like to adopt a donation can, you may contact Gillian Mamaclay, 09177140022

LS GROUPS: Tugon would like to express its gratitude to Milked Inc. and Team Supreme for their efforts in raising funds for the organization. Each peso will surely go a long way.

PROJECT RECAP: Oh, the Places You Will Go! Last June 30 – July 4, the boys and girls of Tugon met up at the MVP Roofdeck to embark on an adventure! Each day volunteers welcomed the hoards of excited newbies willing to take on this great task with them. They had prepared 700 slots for the ride, but instead, were met with 1,026 eager new faces, making Tugon the biggest organization in the Ateneo. From the initial 3 TugOrSem dates, it swelled up to 10, exceeding any expectations the existing members had. Tugon Ateneo is actually the first Sector Based Cluster (SBC) organization to remove the retention requirements, and in its place, have issued a new system: the hierarchy of members. Now each of the 1,026 new green members must work his/her way up; from green, to pink, to red, to finally, purple, to become the ultimate Tugoner! It was a crazy week, and we had to scramble to accommodate the additional 400 members, but it was well worth it. Anything for our babies and girls! We’re glad to have the almost 1,100 members who are ready to advocate and fight against child abuse and sexual abandonment.

General Assembly: Happy Birthday, Tugon!

This year marks Tugon’s 30th birthday and all its members were invited to the party! Held last July 19, Tugoners, both new and old, made their way to the MVP Roofdeck for a morning full of fun and surprises! There were various games which allowed the members to meet and interact with one another, as well as a surprise dance number from Group Hug, the EB/Core of Tugon, and skits from the various House Heads. Members were given the chance to move around, and visit the different booths in order to get to know and sign up for the different departments and projects that Tugon has in store for them. No birthday party would be complete without cupcakes and doughnuts, so each member went home with happy memories, as well as happy tummies. Members wished Tugon a happy birthday as the candles on the cake were blown out, a perfect way to end a fun-filled birthday party!

Tugon PARTY: High School Never Ends

Tugoners, new and old alike, proved that high school never ends as they had their very own #flashbackfriday for Tugon’s first PARTY. Decked in their high school uniforms, they all headed to Bellarmine last August 1 and occupied not one, not two, but four Bellarmine classrooms. Tugoners really know how to have fun! They got to meet and bond with their fellow members, participating in games which brought back good memories. To fill their empty tummies, they all feasted on barbecue and chips, the ultimate merienda! A perfect way to end the week!
