I would like to thank God, advertisers, ministries and subscribers for their support and ask you to continue to help TV4LIFE spread the Gospel, keep satellite TV viewers informed and encourage readers in their walk with Christ. God Contents Thank you for the free Rose and Crown book which I am enjoying reading. Perhaps the God contents are a bit scanty and only loosely referred to. I enjoy reading TV4LIFE, but I preferred your old way of showing programme times and channels by looking down a column instead of across and down. Also, I wish the programmers of the channels i.e. pastors, leaders etc. were able to put the subject of their programmes, the speakers and guest speakers in the listings because unless one flicks the channels, it is easy to miss one’s favourite speakers. However, I do realise it may be more costly and not always possible for them to know the subjects and messages of their programmes so far in advance. Margaret Pipe, Abergavenny. God Brought Us This Far; Where Next? Congratulation messages have been pouring in to mark the 10th anniversary of TV4LIFE magazine. This is a special occasion for the ﬁrst international Christian TV listings magazine and we give the glory to God. The ﬁrst issue of TV4LIFE had the group Yfriday on the cover and was published in January/February 2001 by TMH Telemedia Services and by Simon Joash of HimPressions Publishing And Design Solutions (HPADS).

birthed as it was never in our company plan. “At the time the secular press would not carry Christian TV listings. We felt it was our duty to provide a service so people could ﬁnd out what was on Christian television. Publishing was not our forte so we worked with HPADS. Eventually, we took over the mantle completely.” In September 2004, a new logo was launched and the magazine is still going strong today. TV4LIFE is the only magazine of its kind carrying all the major Christian channels’ TV listings. It includes in-depth programme reviews, highlights plus current affairs, world news, youth pages, ministry interviews and book and music reviews. In addition, in January 2009, TV4LIFE launched a testimony page, a Sinner’s Prayer and a children’s page. It already has its own website where viewers can read the magazine online and a TV4LIFE Facebook page has just been launched. 2011: The Year Of Manifestation Great things have been happening at the Victorious Pentecostal Assembly (VPA) and Pastor Alex Omokudu gives the glory to God. TV4LIFE asked the pastor, who founded Believe TV, about His vision for 2011.

he year 2011 is our “Year Of Manifestation”. I have been thanking God for the amazing blessings he gave us in 2010, our year of “supernatural abundance”. I mean he really embarrassed us with unusual blessings. At the peak of the Credit Crunch, He gave us a new auditorium, then He blessed us with a multimillion pound facility, debt Free! To top it all off, He gave us our own television network, Believe TV. Putting that aside, He has put the ministry in the forefront of the battle against the frustrations of the devil. The last year has seen thousands delivered from afﬂictions that have tormented them for years. Over 500 people who where in bondage because of immigration issues received immediate freedom. We saw numerous people recovering from terminal illnesses. Cancer and HIV sufferers were miraculously healed and this was supported by doctors. All that God said He would do for us at the beginning of 2010, has come to pass. Now God is saying 2011 will be “The Year Of Supernatural Manifestation.” See Romans 8 :19 says, “For the earnest

expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” For all those that believe their time has surely come to begin to manifest all that God has ordained for them this year. There are going to be some supernatural destiny connections that will cause men to know without a doubt that God is very much a miracle working God. He told me very clearly that eyes have not seen what he has in store for the ministry during this year of supernatural manifestation. And when He speaks I don’t ever question. I just brace myself and encourage the church to prepare for a touch of God. I want to encourage all Christians to walk in holiness. I can only speak of what I have experienced and enjoyed as a result of walking in holiness, righteousness and genuine repentance. We need to uphold the integrity of the Kingdom as we continue to bring liberation and deliverance to the world. Let me take a minute to explain what it means to be holy as God is

holy. Passages like Samuel 2:2 and Isaiah 6:3 are examples of passages about God’s holiness. Another way to describe it is absolute perfection. God is unlike any other (see Hosea 11:9), and His holiness is the essence of that “otherness.” His very being is completely absent of even a trace of sin (James 1:13; Hebrews 6:18). He is high above any other, and no one can compare to Him (Psalm 40:5). God’s holiness pervades His entire being and shapes all His attributes. His love is a holy love, His mercy is holy mercy, and even His anger and wrath are holy anger and holy wrath. What does it mean for us to be holy? When God told Israel to be holy in Leviticus 11 and 19, He was instructing them to be distinct from the other nations by giving them speciﬁc regulations to govern their lives. Israel is God’s chosen nation and God has set them apart from all other people groups. They are His special people, and consequently they were given standards that God wanted them to live by so the world would know they belonged to Him. When Peter repeats the Lord’s words in Peter 1:16, he is talking speciﬁcally to believers. As believers, we need to be “set apart” from the world unto the Lord. We need to be living by God’s standards, not the world’s. God isn’t calling us to be perfect, but to be distinct from the world. Peter 2:9 describes believers as “a holy nation.” It is a fact! We are separated from the world; we need to live out that reality in our day-to-day lives, which Peter tells us how to do in Peter 1:13-16. This is my message to Christians, be holy.

’m sure that there’s not a person reading this magazine today that doesn’t have a deep desire to know God better. In fact, everything that TV4Life has been doing over the last 10 years is aimed at helping people to grow in their relationship with God. This has always been the driving desire of my life also; to know God and to become more and more acquainted with Him. There are two verses in the bible that have deeply inspired my own walk with the Lord. The ﬁrst is found in Philippians 3:8 and 10 which says: “I count everything as loss compared to the possession of the priceless privilege of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord and of progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him [of

perceiving and recognizing and understanding Him more fully and clearly]. For His sake I have lost everything and consider it all to be mere rubbish (refuse, dregs), in order that I may win (gain) Christ (the Anointed One). [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power out ﬂowing from His resurrection, and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death,” (Ampliﬁed). The second verse is found in Daniel 11:32 which says “But the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits”. Wow! What a challenge these verses give! know Him? In fact, Jesus went so far as to say that “this is eternal life; that we might know God the Father, and Jesus Christ whom He sent”. I want to know God personally. I don’t just want to know about God, my desire is to know Him; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I have noticed that many Christians will tend to over emphasize one person of the Godhead over the others. I believe that God wants us to be well rounded in our understanding of the trinity and have a healthy relationship with the Father, the Son (the Word) and the Holy Spirit. One of the clearest examples of the triune God in manifestation is found in creation itself. God the Father, the master architect, had planned the creation of humanity and the earth long before we were ever created. Finally, that glorious day came for the world to be formed and the Bible says that when God the Father created the heavens and the earth, it was God, the Son (the Word – John 1:1-3) who spoke it into being, but it was God the Spirit who hovered over the face of the deep and made it manifest. Whenever your heavenly Father wants to do something in your life, He does it through the work of the

(Watch out for more teaching on this in upcoming editions of TV4LIFE). My friend, God the Father has a plan for your life that ﬁts you like a hand in a glove. His heart has opened so wide to you the bible says your eyes haven’t seen, your ears haven’t heard, nor has it even entered into your heart yet, all the things that God has in store for you. However, the bible says that He will reveal His plan for you by His Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:9-10). God will bring you into your destiny through His Word and His Spirit. Never think that you can truly grow in God without getting to know Him in His full manifestation; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Secular society is afraid of the Name of Jesus. People don’t mind if you talk about “God”, but the moment you mention Jesus (God the Son), people feel very uncomfortable! But look beyond Jesus, look beyond secular society; and you will sadly discover that many within the church itself are afraid of God the Holy Spirit. Many Christians are very uncomfortable when the third member of the trinity is allowed to move in our church services.

God almighty, our glorious heavenly Father is seated on high, surrounded by His angels and elders. In all His majesty however, God has reached out to us in the person of His Son (God so loved the World….John 3:16) and in the person of His Spirit (I will pour out my Spirit….Acts 2:17). We need to embrace God as all that He is, all Whom he is. Call out to Him and He will answer you and show you great and mighty things that you don’t yet know. Cry out to Him in times of trouble and He will deliver you each and every time. He is your Father and He loves you so much. He is the Son that gave his life on your behalf. He is the Spirit who was sent to the earth by the Son to be

A Life Lived In Fear Is A Life Half Lived by Ramson Mumba

2 Timothy 1:7 tells us “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind ” (NKJV). On the day that Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, fear entered the heart of mankind. For the first time, in new found independence from God and in the fear that resulted, men hid themselves from the presence of their loving Father. Most people are intimidated by life. Indeed it is very possible to live your whole life focusing on what you are not, dreading what might happen to you, and yielding to the limitations that you perceive yourself to have; limitations of poor health, inferior education, a broken family background or simply a record of failure to achieve up to this point. Yet your degree of fear only reveals your degree of ignorance concerning the nature of God, since when we run out of our own ability, as believers, we run straight into the ability of God. Paul said in 1 Thessalonians: “I know Him Whom I have trusted and I am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have entrusted to Him.” And, ”Faithful is He that calls you, and He will do it.”

This fear driven nature was handed down from that point onwards, so that every human being is necessarily rooted in fear from the day of their birth. But in Christ, we become new creations. On the day of new birth in Him, a man’s nature is completely transformed and the fountain of fear on the inside is stopped up. Romans 8:15 tells us that the spirit we received when we became born again as believers, was no longer a spirit of slavery to put us once more in bondage to fear, but the Spirit of adoption, by which we cry out to God as our loving Father- our Daddy. Fear is unnatural for a born-again believer, and yet because our minds, our emotions and our imaginations are so highly trained in fear, it often doesn’t feel

There will always be things that oppose your vision of what you believe God will do for you. But the truth is that you will never be maximised as a person if you yield to the fear that you will not make it. The will of God won’t come to pass in your life in spite of you, but because of you. You were born to shape your future and not to fear it. As a believer, you have the authority to press past the point of fear and accomplish all that God has placed in your heart to do.

that way. The truth is that the believer has everything it takes to see God manifest His perfect will in his life. He is no longer an orphan, as Jesus puts it, in John 14:18, without covering, without sponsorship, abandoned and vulnerable. The born again man is a mighty force in the Earth since God Himself is his Father. Because of the indwelling presence of a loving Father – not just out there somewhere- but right on the inside of him, he is able to go beyond where his education should take him, to fight things that are stronger than him, and to see every enemy flee from him as he wields the sword of the Spirit- the word of God. The first enemy in any life issue you will ever face is that of fear, but once you realise that the sense of dread, anxiety and threat that you feel is not generated from within your spirit, you will have the courage to boldly charge your future, announcing to your situations, “I’m not scared of you! I won’t be bound by you! The God that called me is well able and I am more than a conqueror. Future Frontie Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) has always been aired using cutting edge new technology. Now TBN has plans to break new boundaries in its bid to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. t’s a fact that more than 34 million people worldwide have given their hearts to the Lord as a result of watching programmes shown by Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). What a result! Fulﬁlling Jesus Christ’s Great Commission to spread the Gospel has always been the main aim of this organization. Now TBN is planning to take it a step further. TBN was launched from humble beginnings 37 years ago after its founders, Paul Crouch and his wife, Jan, both heard God calling them. Dr Crouch had a vision to build a Christian television network that spans the globe. Today’s satellite technology has opened up new opportunities for the Gospel as never imagined and TBN has been at the forefront of using it to

its full potential. It is now the world's largest Christian television network. Across America and around the world, it features on over 5,000 television stations, 78 satellites, the Internet and thousands of cable systems. And the number continues to grow! Now 76, Dr Crouch still attends board meetings for important decisions, while his son, Paul Jr is Chief of Staff. Paul Jr recently visited London, Madrid and Rome with his son, Brandon, 27, and they have been seeking guidance from the Lord on where to take TBN next. “TBN was birthed through a series of miracles. The vision my folks had was to “go into all the world and preach the Gospel.” It was not to make a lot of money. We’ve tried to keep our eyes on preaching the gospel,” said Paul Jr, who

remembers his mother leading him in a sinner’s prayer when he was six-years-old. “TBN is donor supported. Twice a year we run a telethon. We don’t bombard people with commercials every 15 minutes. We say if you love TBN and have been blessed and want to see us continue to preach, help us. When TBN started its aim was to preach the gospel, preach the Word and focus on evangelism and that is what TBN continues to do.” According to Paul Jr, TBN used to be considered the “talking heads network” because it would put cameras in churches and transmit programmes. TBN strives to produce the best for its viewers. He said: “I remember when there were only six channels and TBN was one of them. Now there are 500 channels and

with the internet there are now tens of thousands of ways of airing shows. “We are trying to move forward, producing more programmes and producing programmes in new languages like Arabic, Farsee and Russian and we are branching out to reach the world in a relevant way and language.” As new technology moves on rapidly, Paul Jr’s job is to find the best means of transmitting TBN. With this in mind, he is about to launch iTBN on the Internet. He said: “In the US we have gone from analogue to digital and standard high definition. What is the next step? Three dimensional is being toyed with, but I see the theatrical world doing three dimensional. I don’t see it being effective in television apart from for special shows and films.” Jan Crouch recently announced on live TV that TBN has plans to record a three dimensional film in the Holy Land this year.

Paul Jr added: “We have a new nonlinear world. We want to watch shows when we want to watch them.” While in the UK, Paul Jr and Brandon visited homes in London to check out how people were watching TBN. They discovered a three screen method of viewing; television, computers and mobile phones, known as cell phones to Americans. “In Europe BSB Skybird has revolutionized television in certain repects,” said Paul Jr, who also has two daughters. Brittany, 25, and Carra, 18. “Here in the US statistics show 60 per cent of the population watch television programmes through cable service, 25 per cent watch through satellite and 10 to 15 per cent watch via other means. Cable and sky have permeated people’s lives and viewing programmes through the internet is also taking off. Now everyone’s cell phone is a little television and now you can get iphone applications on our website. “We are building an internet based television service where when you tune in on TBN you can watch what you want to

The new website will carry every piece of TBN content for the last 37 years and you will be able to search and ﬁnd and watch anything you want to watch. “For example, you can search for a minister’s name, like Billy Graham and then pick up all of his programmes. Or you can search for a subject, like addiction and anything linked with that will come up. That’s the future of television. “With the new interactive TBN you will be able to search for all programmes in any given language and they will all pop up. That’s the future of TBN. iTBN will be professionally produced and have documentaries and ﬁlms. The cream of the crop will be on this faith-based service.” The question is, what does the future hold? Paul Jr said: “The Bible says every eye will see Jesus when He returns, but the world is round. There’s no way everyone could see Christ’s return, unless it was through new technology. I’d love to have TBN show it and have the cameras ready and focused on the Mount of Olives. I pray we will be there.”

She related how she had a divine encounter in which an angel appeared to her and reviewed her

spiritual journey, detailing her past involvement with many churches and ministries and also talked about the pressing problems she had been worrying about. The angel told her to make an appointment to see me. She was assured that if I prayed for her, those problems would be solved. I obeyed the heavenly vision and to the glory of God her problems were solved just as the angel said.

apostles in Luke 11:1 in saying "Lord teach us to pray." However, I thank God for teaching me the truth about how praise changes things. This book clearly shows that whilst prayer has changed some things in our lives, not all things have been changed by prayer alone. We have discovered from God’s Word and from experience that after we have prayed and believed, it is “Praise That Changes Things”.

Nearly 20 years ago, following a divine visitation in New York, I left a very successful professional career in America and began life as a missionary in the UK. A godly, spiritual woman provided me with accommodation and I spent most days in prayer and study of the Holy Bible and books by Dad Hagin and other faith ministers. One morning, this godly woman asked me to teach her to pray. She related how an angel had spoken to her about her desire to learn how to pray and directed her to speak to me. What God has taught me through His Word, and His Spirit has generated numerous miraculous answers to, is prayer and I believe that it will be for the beneﬁt of His Church if I share some of it with you.

The scriptures tell us that, what God may appear at ﬁrst to deny us, He later grants to those who persevere in prayer and praise. Glorious illustrations of these truths are found in Matthew 15:21-28; Luke 18:1-8 and Luke 11:5-8. Remember delay is not denial, it is intended to prove and strengthen our faith. This book will show you that perseverance in prayer and praise is imperative if we want to lead a victorious life. Get this book for yourself and loved ones and dramatically change your prayer life and make unanswered prayers a thing of the past.

New Leader At The Word Lewis Gibbs is no longer President of The Word Network and Adell Broadcasting Corporation and his affiliation with both entities has ended. Steven Antoniotti, Vice-President and General Manager of WADL-TV, has been named President and General Manager in an official announcement. Kevin Adell shall continue as the Chief Executive Officer of The Word Network and shall resume his status as President of The Word Network, which he held prior to Mr Gibbs taking up the position in 2006. DCC is destined to influence not only London and the UK, but also Europe and the nations of the world. Expansion is already on the horizon and God has already begun enlarging DCC’s territory. The church was barely a few weeks old when God spoke clearly to Dr Jerome about moving to a large venue adjacent to a hotel. “Greater Works Than These (You) Shall Do...” by Rev Dr V Dilkumar Dearly beloved in Christ, We love you, bless you and greet you in the most precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It is my humble desire to pass onto everyone of you what the Great and Mighty Holy Spirit has spoken to me concerning the New Year 2011, and the remaining years up to the moment Jesus Christ suddenly appears in mid-air to rapture all of us into heaven forever to live in our ever loving Abba Father’s mansion (John 14:1-3). This is the prophetic Word according to John 14:12, we shall do what Jesus Christ did “and greater works than these”. Passionate Love – unwavering, unchanging, unconditional love for God and His people. Two thousand years ago in Mathews Gospel Chapter 17, when Jesus Christ was transﬁgured on the mountain top and subsequently walked down the mountain, a sorrowing father brought his son who is demon possessed and tormented by dreadful disease. The disciples couldn’t do anything much. The father was in utter desperation and in great agony to see his own child suffering and dying. He thought there was none to help his

son, but suddenly Jesus Christ walked by. Jesus Christ our Lord is moved with compassion for those who are sick and suffering. Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever (Heb 13:8). Jesus said, “bring the boy to me”. And as the weeping father brought the son to Jesus our Lord, healed the boy made him whole instantly and handed him back to the father. (John 10:10) Jesus says, “I have come that (you) might have life and have it more in abundance”. We must have this love of Jesus in our hearts and minds. The love of God comes to us only from the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). It is not by our strength or ability (Zach 4:6). We must be filled with the Holy Spirit and His power (Acts 1:8). Honesty And Purity Our Lord’s humility and purity should be our standards in our every moment life. Jesus Christ said, “I am the way, the truth and the life”. (John 14:6). When we live in the fruit of the Spirit in all humility – washed and cleansed by His Shed Blood, the sweet and mighty Holy Spirit will freely flow through us and manifest His great power in the lives of multitudes and they shall be saved, healed, delivered and filled in the Holy Spirit with life in abundance. We must be consciously aware and

acknowledge the Shed Blood of Jesus Christ and praise God for His shed Blood. And such simple humble and holy lives will lead us into the greater anointing of the Holy Spirit. Absolute Power The anointing of God is the presence, power and the promises of God flowing into our life (Psa 133). Anointing = presence + power + promises . Jesus Christ is the overflowing Anointed One. (Acts 10:38 / Acts 2:22) Everyone of us must be so anointed in these coming years so that signs, wonders and miracles takes place instantly before the eyes of the people. Healing them setting the captives free, imparting long life of abundance on this earth and eternal in heaven. God truly answers our prayers. Our Abba Father is a prayer answering God (John 14:13 / John 16:23-24). But our lives and ministry must go into the “deeper waters of life; higher up the mountain of transfiguration, nearer to God and closer to Him alone” (Psalm 16:11). Our ministry will and must have signs, wonders and miracles instantly. The Holy Spirit is ever willing and ready to glorify our Lord and Saviour Jesus and His name more and more in the coming years. Only just believe and love Him first and foremost, full and faithfully. Expect your miracles right now and receive your miracles and live in abundance. Give God the glory all the time.

neeling beside my bed one day in 1968, I began to pray, “Lord, what do I have to do to get from where I am to where you want me to be?” I opened my eyes, and as I saw my Bible lying on the bed in front of me, I heard the Lord say this in my heart: “Just put My Word in your heart, and it will do all the rest.” Everyone I know wants to grow - and growth always means change. So, if you’re not experiencing any growth in your life, it may be because you aren’t changing. Have you ever seen a plant that’s green and growing and not in a constant state of change? For the plant, it’s effortless; it just grows, and the change is evident to everyone. Your life should be just like that—green, growing, changing, and evident to the world. Change really began for me on March 23, 1968, when I had a glorious encounter with the Lord. I saw a glimpse of how awesome the Lord was and what He wanted me to be. I started changing

rapidly, but was a million miles from the victorious life He had revealed. At times, the process seemed so long and the goal so far that I despaired of ever making any progress. But then He directed me to focus on His Word. That word from God has been my prime directive for the last 40 years, and it has produced miraculous results. The change this has produced has been nearly effortless. The only effort has been to stay focused on God’s Word. Although the Lord spoke that to me in prayer, it was important to see it in the Word. He revealed and conﬁrmed it to me through a parable in Mark 4:26-29. It says, “And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; ﬁrst the blade, then the ear, after

that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.” Jesus used this example of seed, time, and harvest, which everyone understood, to illustrate truths about how God’s Word works, which very few people understood. First, He taught that God’s Word has to be planted like a seed in our hearts. Just as a seed doesn’t release its life until it is planted into the ground, God’s Word will not set us free until we get it in our hearts. Having the Bible on our tables, in our hands, or in our heads is not sufﬁcient; we have to commit God’s Word to our hearts. Second, the man in Jesus’ parable, who sowed the seed, slept and rose day after day. It takes time for a seed to germinate. You can’t plant a seed one day and expect to see it growing the next day. Just because there’s nothing visible

Change above ground doesn’t mean the seed isn’t growing. If you dig it up every day to see if anything is happening, it will never grow. You have to have faith that the seed will do what it was designed by God to do, producing its fruit in its time. John 15:7-8 says this, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father gloriﬁed, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.” Next, Jesus shared one of the most important truths of this parable. He said, “The seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.” This is an amazing statement. No one knows how a seed works. I don’t understand how the seed of God’s Word planted in our hearts works either, and I can’t explain how reading God’s Word differs from reading the

words of some other book. I don’t comprehend it all, but I know it works. I’ve experienced the supernatural life that God’s Word imparts. The Word is a seed that contains the very life of God. When it’s planted in your heart and left there, it will release that life. The only effort on your part is to take the time and make the effort to plant the seed. Then, the godly change you’re looking for comes effortlessly as the seed of His Word takes root in your heart. Prayer is not a substitute for planting the seed of God’s Word in your heart. In the natural, we recognize that we can’t have a harvest without planting seeds. But in the spiritual, Christians try it all the time. Instead of going to the Word and meditating in the Scriptures themselves, they run to someone who has spent time in the Word and ask them for help. It’s an attempt to shortcut the process of seed, time, and harvest.

Who Is Our Source? by Joyce Meyer

or many people 2010 was a financially difficult year. The housing market is down, some businesses have closed, and gasoline and food prices are rising. Some are struggling to stay ahead. However, what does God have to say about our finances and our future? We don’t have to be afraid. God’s financial system is not like the world’s system. No matter what happens around us, we don’t have to be fearful because God loves us. First John 4:18 tells us, “There is no fear in love”. Even if situations seem out of our control, the love of God isn’t ever going to crumble and remains our solid foundation in life. We can have confidence that whatever is happening, God wants to help us and will go out of His way to meet even our simple day-to-day needs. Recognize our source. Second Corinthians 9:10 says, “And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness….” God is the One who provides our finances; our jobs are not our source—God is. So when positions disappear, we don’t have to feel hopeless because God is not limited. He can provide for us through other means, in ways we may not have imagined or are able to figure out ahead of time. Matthew 6:26 reassures

us that if God takes care of the birds, we can believe He is going to provide for us, too. We can’t “out give” God. I’ve discovered the best way to deal with money is to give it away. This is a key factor in helping us to maintain a biblical focus on our finances. And we need to keep on giving, especially during challenging financial times— because if we obey God with our finances and give to help other people, the more God will have other people do for us. It’s just that simple. Proverbs 28:27 says, “He who gives to the poor will not want…. “ It’s possible to live debt free with biblical principles, even in difficult times. Romans 13:8 encourages us to, “Keep out of debt and owe no man anything, except to love one another….” My husband, Dave, says that if we learn to live within our income, or our borders, then God will bless us, our borders will be stretched, and we’ll have more. Luke 19:17 tells us that God is pleased when we are faithful and trustworthy in very little things. When we are, it says He will give us authority over bigger things. Use credit cards wisely or not at all. It’s too easy to charge, not realizing how much we’re actually spending. Dave and I use charge cards for convenience, but we pay them off at the end of the month. If we owe thousands of dollars on stuff we’re

buying, soon our possessions start to own us and distract us from following God. It’s important for us to understand that the battle for our finances is really a spiritual battle. The enemy tempts us to be fearful of tomorrow, to believe that our jobs are our source, and to spend more than we are able to pay off so he can keep us under pressure and distracted from our walk with God. But we need to have a goal to enjoy the life that Jesus died to give us because God wants us to live in righteousness, peace and joy. lmighty and Everliving God...” So begins many formal denominational prayers. And so He is – Almighty and Eternal. Yet Jesus speciﬁcally says: “When you pray, say, ‘Father’.” This speaks immediately of a personal relationship with God, made possible through everything Jesus Christ has done for us. ‘Father’ speaks of a particularly intimate relationship. What a great privilege to be able to call the Almighty and Everliving God our Father! “

This indicates that Jesus expects us to pray within such a relationship. The Holy Spirit who lives within born again believers enables them to call Him, “Abba, Father” – not only an intimate relationship, but a dependent one, as of a young child to his or her loving parent. So this is a relationship of love. We can only love God because He has ﬁrst loved us. He has called and chosen each believer to be His child. So the believer’s love for God the Father is a response to His great love for him or her. It is important to understand the nature of this love, for unlike human love it is not based on emotion, but on the very nature of who God is. He is love. He is also holy, glorious, faithful. So this is a holy, glorious and faithful love with which God loves those who belong to His family. It is a love based on giving, on action, rather than emotion. Emotions change readily according to circumstances, but God’s love is consistently the same regardless of the circumstances. No believer is ever

in a position to question God’s love, for He has already expressed that love supremely by sending His Son to identify with the sinner in his or her need, to take that sinner to the cross with Him that their former life would be put to death. In His love, each believer was then raised to a new life with Christ. Amazingly, the believer now lives in Christ, the perfect expression of God’s love; and Christ lives in him or her by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. So not only can the believer know beyond doubt that the Father has already expressed His perfect love for him or her, but he or she can live in that love, and experience that same love being expressed through his or her life. Of course we have an enemy, the deceiver of the brethren. He points Christians to their feelings and adverse circumstances in an attempt to encourage them to question or doubt the Father’s love for them. “If God really loves you, why has He allowed this to happen to you; why do you feel this way?” This is a common method of his deception, for he knows if he can undermine the believer’s faith in God’s love, he or she will rapidly lose sight of God’s mercy, His total acceptance of them, of His grace, His willingness to provide for them, no matter what the circumstances. He is Almighty and Eternal, but He is always at hand, always present. We live in Him and He in us – and you cannot get any closer than that!

We live in His Father’s love and His Father’s love lives in us! Paul writes: “I am totally convinced that death cannot separate us from Him or His love. Neither can anything that could ever happen to us in this life! No angels can stand in the way of God’s personal love for us, nor can any demons prevent that love. Nothing in the present, nor anything that could happen in the future, would be able to destroy God’s love for us. There is no spiritual power, nor any created power, that will ever be able to separate us from God’s love for us that has already been so clearly expressed in Christ Jesus our Lord!” (Romans 8:38-39 The Truth New Testament). His love for you does not depend on your performance, but on the truth that He is your Father and you are His child. You may sometimes be a disobedient or even a wayward child, but nevertheless you are His child and He is your Father, and He will never disown you. However, this is not an excuse for us to be disobedient to our Father’s will, for although His love for us is constant, our love for Him is dependent on obedience to Him as Jesus makes clear in John, chapter 15. Disobedience and wilful sin inevitably affect our relationship with our Father, even though His purpose is to love us back to a place of unity with His will. We see this loving acceptance in the way the father welcomed back the prodigal son, despite the fact that he had wasted his inheritance!

The greater the revelation of the Father’s love for you, the greater will be your love for Him. The more secure you are in His mercy and loving acceptance of you, the more you will love and accept others. The greater your awareness of His grace in your life, the more gracious and generous you will be. A loving child wants to please his or her father. And so it is with our relationship with our heavenly Father. Jesus spoke continually of His relationship of love with His Father and of His complete dependence on Him during His ministry on earth. He spoke only the words the Father gave Him to speak and did only what He saw His Father doing. He made it clear that He had not come to do His own will, but the will of Him who sent Him – His loving Father. If you love God, you will not want anything in your life to damage your relationship of love with your heavenly Father. You will want to live in loving obedience to His will, as Jesus did. For although Jesus could enjoy a closer relationship with the Father than any of us, because of His perfection, yet He did not refer to Him as “Dad”, but addressed Him as, “Heavenly Father”, “Righteous Father”, “Holy Father”. An intimate relationship, yet one that was full of respect and honour for His Father, ever mindful of who He is! Prevailing Over Evil Days By Dr John Paul Oddoye.

he times that we are living in present strong challenges in many aspects of our lives. We face challenges in marriages, ﬁnances, emotions, professions and our spiritual lives among other things. Like Apostle Paul, who in his lifetime endured much hardship in God’s service, we face circumstances that sometimes seem overwhelming to us. However, Paul paints a picture of hope in the midst of adversity as he writes to the church in 2 Corinthians 4. It is inevitable that difﬁcult times will come as prophesied by Christ but from 2 Corinthians 4:8 – 9 the bible tells us, “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” There is still hope in any situation as long as our Redeemer lives.

the same God whom we still serve today. Our situation may not have deteriorated to the same extent as in the days of Elisha, but He is still mighty to save. God is amplifying our steps as he did those of the lepers so that as we continue to trust Him in the midst of the economic siege the world is experiencing, we His children will march on to victory as we move in faith according to his word. It is those who march on in faith, as the lepers did, who will gain victory. This is not the time to rationalise the instructions of God but to move on in obedience to His Word expecting to see Him move on our behalf in power. This is the time to start that business, apply for that job, and buy that house, according to the Word of God to you, because it is not the situation you ﬁnd yourself in that matters but whose word you believe concerning it.

In 2 Kings 6, we are made to understand that Israel, a nation chosen by God experienced difﬁcult times under siege from the Syrians. The situation was so bad that mothers resorted to eating their children in order to survive (verse 29). A donkey’s head was worth a fortune and things that were worthless gained value. However, God still sent help to them in a supernatural way. He ampliﬁed the steps of the four lepers and brought victory to a whole nation. This is

It is in these times that we have to put our faith in God and venture out in order to possess the place of prominence because God, who is with us, will bring increase and abundance. Sow in the land of famine and an increase will come to you by faith. You may be in a tough situation right now on many fronts but look to the Word of God; get instructions from the throne of God. It is your time to march ahead like the lepers. In the natural it may seem that there is only destruction lying ahead when you think of the armies of the Syrians. But God, who works in ways beyond the understanding of man, will bring you victory that will give glory to his name! No matter the challenge, march on and God will cause you to prevail over these evil days. This is your year to rise and soar like the eagle and nothing can stop you. You are blessed beyond any curse. The Dating Game As Valentine’s day approaches singles often feel under pressure. Finding a partner is getting harder as our lives are getting busier, so more people are turning to Christian dating agencies or chat rooms in a bid to ﬁnd their soul mates. TV4LIFE’s Sally Anderson Wai reports.

hey must be desperate”. That is what some people used to think about anyone who used a lonely hearts column or a dating agency. But thankfully things are changing and even Christians are using the Internet to help find their marriage partners. As the female to male ratio of people attending church is so lopsided, it is little wonder. The ratio differs from 2:1 to 100:1 depending on where you live. When I was a single Christian I used to pray for God to guide me to the right guy to marry, but as all of the men in my church were either married or dating, things looked bleak. After a while of seeking God first, I confess, I went down a slippery slope of dating non-Christians. The needs of the relationship were often different. My faith soon wavered. I didn’t want to be a hypocrite, so I stopped going to church and several years of backslidden torture and sin followed. I eventually married my lovely husband and after we had a couple of children, my life hit a crisis and my first reaction was to turn to God. I thanked the Lord so much for his goodness, mercy and grace, as I fell on my knees before Him to ask forgiveness on December 21st 2001. Since then my life has been transformed. Not everyone has had the same experience as me. For some dating agencies or adverts have proven to be the answer. The Pope’s parents met through a lonely heart column, for example, according to The Mail Online. Don of London said: “Sarah and I met through a Christian dating agency almost four years ago. We emailed each other 62 jan/feb

and after a rather awkward chat on the phone we met at Kew Gardens, where we talked for hours and arranged another meeting. We knew very quickly that “this was it” and got married after 11 months... Life is great and it's really good to be married and have someone special to share it all with.” Josephine Hunter of Lewisham had a similar experience when she met John. She said: “We seemed to have a lot in common and so after a week or so of telephone conversations we went on our ﬁrst date. After four months, we got engaged on Valentine’s day and got married on a lovely summer's day in August last year.” The dating game isn’t always that easy, especially for Christians who have been married before and have children. A widow and mother-of-two, Jane of Leicestershire, met Dave from Vancouver, Canada, on the Internet. After dating and occasionally visiting each other for a year, they split up. She said: “Now I’m perfectly happy single. I’ve tried Christian Internet dating agencies, but no thanks. It’s a terribly nice way of meeting people, but you are just as well meeting someone at your local church. At least that way you will be living closer and won’t have to make a life changing decision. If at the end of the day you don’t meet someone there’s no problem. We are entire people on our own. We don’t need other people to make us any more or less valuable in God’s eyes.” Some churches have an etiquette for courting couples. I know of one in London where they aren’t allowed to hold hands before marriage, never mind kiss. To some that may seem extreme. tv4life.com

Pastor David Morrison of Word Life Centre, North Newtown, Birmingham, believes it is up to the individual whether they choose to use dating agencies or lonely hearts columns to ﬁnd a marriage partner. The important thing is that they should look to the Bible for godly guidance. “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” 2 Corinthians 8: 14. Dr Morrison said: “As a Pastor, I have put together a principle in accordance with the Word of God which outlines the most effective way to ﬁnd a partner in the will of God! WRITING COMPETITION Budding writers are invited to enter a short story competition. It is being organized by the Association of Christian Writers to mark its 40th anniversary. It is open to members and non-members alike, and the prizes will be £200 for the winner, £100 for the second-best entry, and £50 for the runner-up. All three winners will have their stories published in the ACW quarterly magazine, “Christian Writer”, and will also receive a year's free membership of ACW. The Way Of The Master Tony Anthony trained in a style of Kung Fu becoming World Champion three times. The author of “Taming The Tiger” later became an elite bodyguard. His life was spiralling out of control after a personal tragedy, when he turned to Christ. His new book is just out.

We have to tell people about Jesus so they can go to Heaven,” said Tony Anthony. “People think Jesus came into the world to make bad people good, but He came to make dead people alive. I feel I have this bright light inside of me. It’s like a light being turned on in a dark room. People sometimes shy away from the light because it shows up the dirt in the room, but they don’t realise that Jesus is the only light who can clean out the dirt and transform you.” Tony is a passionate man of God who took to heart Christ’s Great Commission to make all men His disciples after he became a Christian while in Cyprus’ notorious Nicosia Central Prison. He went on to become an evangelist, a trainer of evangelists and founded Avanti Ministries, which comes from the Italian word for “go”. He wrote the bestselling book “Taming The Tiger” about his dramatic conversion, and his new book

Tony said: “When I was born my Dad contracted Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and by the time I was four my mother, who is Chinese, wasn’t able to look after us both, so she sent me to her parents in Guang Dong, China. “I learnt Kung Fu from my Grandfather who was a leading expert. He beat the teaching into me because he wanted to teach me how to fight, eventually I grew to love it.” Soon Tony became an expert in his own right and when he was 12-yearsold he returned to England where the former International Kung Fu Federation sponsored him to continue his training. It wasn’t long before he became World Champion in the style of Kung Fu he had learnt and he retained the title for three successive years. “I was really pleased to be World Champion. It meant I was able to bring honour to my Grandfather.” Already a Kung Fu instructor, Tony moved on to become a bodyguard to several high fliers, including Amin, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to London; then suddenly his fiancée was killed in a car crash. “I wanted to kill myself but didn’t have the courage so I turned my violence on others,” he said. “My boss was a gambler and lots of private businesses owed him money. I was the guy collecting the debts. Legally I used my firearm to defend people and killed people in the

process. I feel enormously ashamed of this now.” When his father needed money for surgery, Tony started to rob from the people he was collecting the debts from. “I was scum and eventually ended up in Nicosia Central Prison for robbery.” A man called Michael Wright of Northern Ireland, started visiting Tony. He accepted the visits only because the prison cafe sold Coca Cola, but they soon developed a true friendship. “May 3rd, 1990, is the day the Gospel message changed my life. Michael quoted me John 8: 34-36. He explained how God is perfect and can’t allow anything imperfect into Heaven. A sin is a sin and we have to be punished for it, but Jesus took our punishment on the cross. We need to be willing to turn away from our sin and say sorry to Jesus and surrender our lives to Him. “I began to realise I could know God through faith. I cried and confessed my sins and invited Jesus into my life. I felt so free even though I was behind bars. I stopped smoking in prison and began to realise my body is the temple of God. I stopped being violent and decided to stop Kung Fu.” Now Tony has been married to Sara for 15 years and has two boys, Ethan, aged 10 and Jacob, aged six. “I should be dead by now, but I’m only alive because of Jesus Christ. He is now my Master.”

Writing Records, Writing Releases, Writing Retains by Terry Quinn I am so thankful for all the notes I have written over the years, in fact just recently, I read some sermon outlines I had written about 20 years ago and was so blessed and encouraged. As we celebrate the 10th year anniversary of TV4LIFE, think about how many lives have been impacted and transformed over the years because of the articles and special features within this magazine. Think of all the ministries that took time to submit their messages unaware of who would be looking at them and how it would be so timely for their situation that they would ﬁnd themselves in at the time of reading. The Scriptures are

a great example of “keeping records” and thousands of years later untold multitudes of people have been saved, transformed, healed and delivered. God told the people of Israel to celebrate feasts as memorials, and to record His amazing wonders in their journey as His chosen ones and we can all read the incredible adventures and stories about Abraham, Samson, David and Goliath, Moses, the Apostle Paul and of course the Lord Jesus Himself. God is so forensic in his record keeping that He actually has our names written down in the lamb’s Book of Life and did you know He even has a book of remembrance that records

certain conversations we have together. “Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another and the Lord listened and heard them. So a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who meditate on His name’’ ( Malachi 3v 16) I thank God for TV4LIFE and for all the staff involved in its publication and I look forward to all the articles in the coming years and to hear of the life changing testimonies in heaven. Learning From The Lost Son

“Father, I Have Sinned...” Luke 15:18 The Lost Son didn't get into trouble until he left home and started to live his life by just doing whatever felt good at the time. There are three really important keys in the story Jesus told about him. (Verse 13) “...he wasted all his money...” This story is 2000 years old but it's so relevant it could've been on the news last night. Every weekend young people follow this guy's example of “getting wasted”; and the ﬁrst place it hits you is in the pocket! (Verse 14) He “...began to starve.” Something's gone majorly wrong! The situation changed really quickly, one minute he was loving it, living large, life and soul of the party. But eventually the music stops. The music always stops sooner or later. It's then that you start to realize the emptiness inside. Are you doing that? David said, “The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need” (Psalm 23:1 NCV). Who's that promise for? For all those who have decided to follow the shepherd and stay as close to him as possible. (Verse 17) “...he ﬁnally came to his senses...” When his life could go no lower, he had a moment of clarity. God has an amazing way of bringing those moments to us. He is desperate for us to be in a relationship with him. He calls out “My daughter, My son, I love you, come home!” The Bible says: “...Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts...” (Hebrews 3:15 NIV). It wasn't too late for the guy in the story; and it's not too late for you. When he came home his father opened his arms, welcomed him home and threw a massive party. And God will do the same for you, if you let him.

Sinners Prayer Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. I’m sorry for going my own way. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins and rising again on the third day. Please come and take ﬁrst place in my life and set me free to be all you created me to be. Amen.
