veryone wants to be free! But what does it mean to be totally free? Jesus said “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”. John 8:32. This is where many fall down since we think that we know the truth but many times we are only walking in partial truth. You see the deceiver has blinded many of us through lies and deception and covered them up. What we need is a revelation of where the devil’s lies are so that we can dislodge them and replace his lies with the truth of God's word. A simple example is to do with what others have said about us over the years. They may have said things like “you will never amount to much”, or “you will never achieve anything”. If you believe these things then it will affect how you live for the rest of your life! The good news is that we can change. We are what the Word of God says that we are. God says that we are “special”, “precious”, “kings” and “priests”, “above and not beneath”, “the head and not the tail.” However, these truths will only change us when we apply them to ourselves personally. Here is something that you can do. Ask the Lord to show you by the Holy Spirit where all of the lies of the devil have come into your life. Then rebuke those lies in the Name of Jesus Christ and confess what God's Word says instead over your life. We all have to do this.

Freedom by Trevor Newport

I used to believe that I was poor and was bound by a poverty spirit. One day I heard the truth and so I began a quest to pull down that poverty stronghold in my life and accept what God's word says instead. Look at this; “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich”. 2Cor 8:9. My life changed forever, I was free to prosper Biblically because that lie was discovered and cast out. So freedom is a process of discovering where the devil has lied to us, and then actively confessing the truth of God's word. That is why preaching is so important. That is also why Paul spent much time praying for revelation knowledge in several of his letters. Another aspect of freedom that many miss is that of accountability. People think that they are free to do anything they want to. That is false. We can only be truly free if we walk under God's word. That includes true submission to those who are over us in the Lord. To be really free means being in obedience to God's written word and also submitting to your leaders. After nearly 30 years of leading God's people I can honestly say that many Christians are not enjoying absolute freedom for the simple reason that they just will not submit. The Bible calls this rebellion. It is as the sin of witchcraft which is serious indeed.

If you are one of those who thinks that you do not need to be under anybody then why not try submitting for a season and watch how your quality of life increases. Freedom is waiting for you, but sometimes we need to make changes to get there! I have had to make changes in my life and ask God to show me if I need to change regularly. I still need a leader in my life. I have a wonderful apostle who covers my life which gives me freedom to minister all over the world. You reap what you sow. I have many pastors now who ask for my covering and mentoring. Paul says; “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage”. Gal 5:1 Here is a warning that once we are free we have to maintain our freedom by quality choices. People who are led away themselves want to bring us back into bondage, so be on your guard. The lusts of the ﬂesh are always ready to trip us up and make us slaves to sin all over again. We have to keep walking in purity, repenting from time to time, reading God's Word and allowing the Scriptures to challenge us in every area of life. Freedom is therefore a walk. We have to keep walking in freedom and resisting temptations along the way. Another aspect of walking in freedom is the need for deliverance. Many try to stand on God's Word and

confess His precious Word, but still struggle with bondage. This is where true deliverance is needed. I have been ministering deliverance for 30 years as a pastor and now as an international speaker. People are the same all over the world and struggle with the same issues. Some things are hereditary and come through our family. Other things are sown into us by our involvement with the enemies schemes such as drugs, adultery, witchcraft, martial arts etc. The list is endless! Other things are more subtle like resentment, unbelief, fear, rejection etc. Other aspects include insecurity, intimidation and things to do with the personality. I write about these in my latest book “Personality Freedom”. One day, Moses went up to get the Ten Commandments. In a very short time the people thought they were free without their leader. Sin very quickly gripped the hearts of thousands. God had set them free from Egypt but they needed Egypt out of their hearts. Let us learn from the Old Testamant and keep short accounts with God. Above And Beyond Lifestyle: No Boundaries! T

he Church worldwide is inundated with so called “apostles” and “prophets” and if we are not careful, we may end up tarring everyone with the same brush and missing those who are genuinely called of God. Proliferation is undoubtedly due to lack of spiritual gifts in the Church. Children of God are unfamiliar with the gifts that should accompany these callings and cannot recognize them (2 Corinthians 12:12). The unfortunate thing is that when true apostles or prophets come, they are not given the honour and respect that would enable people to receive the empowerment they carry (Matthew 10:41 and Hosea 12:13). This has proved very costly to the Church. Now and in times past, great souls have walked this life unrecognized until after their death! How many of us wish the great sage, Dad Dr Kenneth E Hagin, of blessed memory, was still alive? Many of us would travel to anywhere in the world to see him if he could come back from the dead – and he’s only been gone since 2003! Rise Above And Excel Dear friends, after 43 years as a bornagain Christian and nearly 20 years as a faith missionary from America, I have never met a more humble and highly anointed minister with integrity as Dr Jerry Savelle, from the USA. Christ to our church, London Miracle Centre, last year, for two unforgettable days! We know that we had nothing to do with his coming but that it was a definite leading of the Holy Ghost and we welcomed him as an envoy, an emissary from Heaven - a heavenly sent messenger from God! When I met him, the Lord allowed me to see him in the spiritual realm and tears of gratitude flowed freely. When he laid hands on me and many others, we felt the oil (anointing) of the Holy Spirit oozing into our beings! Those who experienced it will never forget the impartation on the first day or the powerful teaching on the second! Our forever changed, favour–filled lives are a testimony to his apostolic mandate! No Boundaries There was a time when nobody had ever run a mile in under four minutes but on May 6, 1954, Roger Bannister of Oxford, England ran the first under four minute mile. Before long, several athletes had broken the four minute barrier and this was all because one man pushed to achieve what was considered impossible! Deve How did you become a Christian? Marcus: I was five-years-old and Pastor Scotty Shepherd was preaching on a Sunday night at a Church on St. John Street in Macon, Georgia. I was sitting on the second row on the right side of the Church. Pastor Shepherd gave the salvation invitation and I, little Marcus Lamb, went forward to the altar and my Dad prayed me through to salvation! Joni: I was raised in a Christian home and asked the Lord into my heart as a child. Although some may find that hard to believe, it was a very real experience to me and I continued to grow in my walk with the Lord through my teenage years and now through my adult life. It’s a continuing journey for sure! How did the Lord lead you to start Daystar? Marcus: Joni and I were in the Holy Land in March 1983. We had only been married seven months. While we were on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, Israel, the Lord spoke to me to get into Christian Television. He told me to go to Montgomery, Alabama (the State Capital), and build the first Christian Television Station in the history of the state of Alabama. To make sure we were in agreement with one another, Joni and I went on a three day fast on our one year wedding anniversary. We then knew for sure that it was time to go forward on getting into Christian Television. As a result, we moved to Montgomery in January 1984 to build WMCF-TV “45 Alive!” from the ground up. I was only 26-years-old when “45 alive!” came on the air on October 12, 1985. 14 sep/oct

loping Daystar Daystar Television Network has come a long way since its founders Marcus and Joni Lamb were given direction from the Lord. In an exclusive interview with Sally Anderson-Wai they reveal more about the past, present and the future of the channel. Joni: We were called into Christian Television in our early twenties. After seven years in Montgomery, Alabama where we built the first Christian Television Station (WMCF TV-45) in the history of that State, we moved to Dallas, Texas, to build Channel KMPX- TV 29. Then, with the success of Channel 29, opportunities to buy several more TV stations came along allowing us to purchase them and then see the formation of a network called the Daystar Television Network. What inspires you? Marcus: Reaching the most people I can with the good news of the gospel. Joni: People with character and those who have given of themselves unselfishly and surrendered their lives wholly to share the love of God. What have been the highs and lows? Marcus: There have been many highs and lows. Perhaps the greatest high is that Daystar is the only fulltime Christian Television Network to be on TV all over Israel. That is fulfilling Bible prophecy and is the favour of God. Joni: I’ll start with the lows, so I can end on a positive note. The lows are obvious because there are times when you can grow weary, be affected by negative people or circumstances, feel alone or face challenges with those you love the most. The highs are always related to God’s unwavering faithfulness. No matter the trial or circumstance of life, His Word is true and His promises are everlasting. The highs are when you hear Him clearly and you are obedient to what He has asked you to do, or when you see light pierce the darkness

in a lost soul. The highs far outweigh the lows because His strength is always there to lift you up and let you know that you’re not alone. The highs are living the Blessed life and knowing that He gets all the glory because you are totally surrendered to the One who created you. And, eternity with Him is promised for those of us who have experienced His amazing grace. What are your aspirations for the future? Marcus: To reach even more people. Joni: My aspirations are to ﬁnish the race He has given me to run and to ﬁnish it strong for His glory. I could never have fathomed all He has done in our lives so I won’t limit Him for the future. Anything and everything could happen with God guiding our course, but to encourage people, love people and point them to the cross is still my greatest aspiration, whether it be through word or song. I realize it’s not my ability but my availability, and that’s a promise I made to Him for as long as I have one breath to breathe. What new programmes have you got planned? Marcus: We are working on more “live” remote broadcasts and new and more relevant programming. Joni: I am doing a “Table Talk” series with several friends co-hosting with me and still tackling tough issues, fun and light-hearted programming as well as hard-hitting topics. It’s a new dynamic that has been well-received from our audience. I believe our children will have some ideas for new programming for the future, and I’m excited to see how God will use them in this area. tv4life.com

What are you proud of? Marcus: That Daystar is the fastest growing Christian Television Network in the world and the second largest. Joni: I am proud of my family. My husband and children are each so uniquely gifted and talented. I am proud of what God has accomplished through two willing vessels (Marcus and myself) in the building of the Daystar Television Network. We thank God every day of our lives for His goodness and mercy in our lives. To think that he could use two frail human beings to take the gospel around the world is humbling at best. I guess you could say I’m proud of God and what He has accomplished in and through us. What would you like the Lord to say to you in heaven? BBC1: Sun 4:15pm Tickets are now sold out for the Songs of Praise major event of the year. The Big Sing 2010 will be taking place at The Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 12th September 2010 and we can all enjoy watching the recording of the show when it will be broadcast later this year. People from across the world have snapped up the tickets for this spectacular extravaganza. A choir of 1,000 voices usually leads the packed auditorium in wellloved hymns and songs, with Aled Jones presenting. The Songs Of Praise School Choir Of The Year 2011 competition has now launched and entries are invited for the Junior and Senior competition. BBC camera crews will be pre-recording two programmes from St Oswald's Church in Sheffield. The first will be aired on BBC One on the 24th October, 2010, in a programme about Sheffield. The second will be transmitted on 12th December 2010 and will be a programme about carol singing for Advent. Christians can have their say on Channel 4's new version of Radio 4’s "Thought For The Day", called "4thought.tv." Individuals have just 90 seconds to reﬂect on religious and ethical issues or aspects of their spiritual lives. They can tackle them by giving their views in the form of jokes, songs or recounting moving personal experiences. A spokesperson for Channel 4 said: "These shorts will challenge some traditional views, providing a platform for both scepticism and devout religious beliefs.” During the ﬁrst slots, George Rhoden, a metropolitan Police Inspector explained how his Christian beliefs enabled him to cope with the aftermath of the Kings Cross Station blast. Jenna, 17, a national Irish dancer, said her Catholic faith helped her reach the top and singer Beverley Knight recalled how singing the well-loved hymn Amazing Grace at the funeral of a close friend gave her a new appreciation of the power of the song. The Pope's visit to Britain is due to be discussed along with The Ten Commandments and miracles. It’s All About Credibility by Dr Tayo Adeyemi

od put us on this planet to be difference makers; to be world changers and to be people of influence.

We have looked at the seven laws of influence (in the July/August TV4Life issue), but here they are again:

To be credible is to be capable of being believed. It means to be trustworthy or reliable. It comes from the Latin word “credere”, which means “to believe”. So, the question here is: are you trustworthy? Are you reliable? Are you believable? Let me give you three elements of credibility:

The Law of Intentionality The Law of Access The Law of Relationship The Law of Credibility The Law of Communication The Law of Duality The Law of Stewardship I would like to focus on the law of credibility which states: Your influence is only as strong as your credibility. In Matthew 12:33, Jesus said, “a tree is known by its fruit”. You might paraphrase that as a man is known by his credibility. A man is known and recognised and judged by his credibility. Your influence will only go as far as your credibility carries you. Your credibility at one level opens doors for you at the next level. People get employed because of credibility. This truth is so much so, that your qualifications are called “credentials”. No matter how good your intentions are, you are not something in life until people regard you as such. No matter how many years you spent in medical school, you are not a doctor until people acknowledge that you are a doctor. Every promotion in life is the result of passing some form of credibility test.

Competence Character Consistency

Competence: Competence is having sufficient skill and knowledge to perform a task. The greater your competence, the greater your influence, the more authority you command and the more money you command. If people consider you an expert, they will solicit your advice. So, the question here is: Are you competent? Can you do the job? Are you the best – or at least one of the best – in your field? This is why you must continually equip yourself and hone your skills, so that you will remain on the cutting edge. Don’t forget that what was considered a cutting edge skill five years ago may now be outdated, inefficient, redundant or even completely obsolete. You must never graduate from your own personal development programme. Character: Your competence will take you to certain heights in life, but only your character will keep you there. The calibre of your influence will be determined by the strength of your character.

Your reputation is what people are saying about you; but your character is what God thinks of you. Your reputation is what you are in public; your character is who you are in private. Your character is defined as the seat of your moral and ethical being. It is the sum total of who you are – including your thoughts, values, motives and actions. Dr. Billy Graham said; “When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; When health is lost, something is lost; When character is lost, everything is lost”. If you truly want to be a person of influence, take care of the character issue. Consistency: To be consistent is to conform to previous characteristics or behaviour. It comes from a Latin word which means “to stand firm”. How does consistency relate to influence? It all goes back to the trust issue. When people are dependable, reliable and predictable, we tend to lower our defences around them; and allow them to influence us. On the other hand, we generally do not trust capricious, erratic and temperamental people. People who are whimsical and inconsistent are considered unpredictable at best and dishonest at worst. And we generally do not allow them to influence us. If you want to be a person of influence, you need to be consistent and dependable. Remember, it’s all about credibility. “A Day In The Life of TV4Life asked television minister and author Joyce Meyer to tell our readers about her typical day.

eople everywhere often ask me what a typical day is like for me. You’d think that’s both a fair and easy question to answer . . . and, for most people, it is. “How do I spend the hours between when I get up and go to bed?” Well, with my responsibilities and demanding schedule, unlike a lot of people, the simple reality – and consistent answer almost always – is no day is typical as each new day brings its own unique set of challenges and demands. But sometimes I wish it wasn’t always so. By that, I simply mean as a creature of habit, I’m not a very complicated person and prefer the expectation of routine and constant over surprise and change. With that understanding, let me try to share what a “typical” day is like. 24 sep/oct

Local Routine I’m an early riser, so when at home I’m usually up by 4:30 or 5:00 a.m. most days. It’s important for me to start my day with God, so this is a quiet time of reflection and for me to convene with Him in prayer, reading my Bible and studying The Word. After I’m done, I start focusing on what is on the day’s schedule, the things I have to do and the places I need to be later. More times than not, “later” usually means lots of appointments. Not always (business) meetings and such, but there seems to always be somewhere I’m scheduled to be. When done showering and getting dressed, I’ll then head downstairs for a light breakfast and prepare to head out the door to my first appointment tv4life.com

. . . Starbucks! I said I was a creature of habit and, to my own surprise, that habit now includes grabbing a Starbucks coffee on my way to wherever my first appointment is. Very health conscious now, both Dave and I will make our way to the gym a couple times a week and get in a good workout. Depending on what’s going on, I’ll next head to our ministry headquarters office and spend time there reviewing business needs, in meetings or in our in-house studio taping our television programmes. An occasional photo shoot may be on the calendar as well. When at the office and in meetings or conducting other business, I never forget to include God in the decision-making process because everything we do, every single blessing

Joyce Meyer” we have, and our entire ability to help others through this ministry, is both because of, and through His favour. Throughout my day, I try to find some quiet or “me” time as it helps me focus and stay close to God’s will. As the day wears on, I usually skip lunch and when done with my commitments at the office, will rendezvous with Dave for an early dinner either at home, or out at one of our favourite restaurants. From there, we usually head home to both recoup and rest. At the end of every day, I again try to find one-on-one time with God, which usually includes additional study and/or prayer. Winding down from the day and relaxing could be in the form of a good book, watching a movie or a little television. Dave often teases me because sometimes I’ll become drowsy or get sleepy and struggle a bit to stay awake till the end of the movie or programme. In either case, I try to turn in early and call it a night around 9:00 p.m. or so. Like most women, I also enjoy a bit of shopping and, time permitting, try to make it out to some of my favourite shops and stores on the weekends. Domestic Conference Routine With my demanding travel schedule, when on the road for domestic (U.S.) conferences, my “predictability” and routine is a bit more constant, as I am able to take some comfort in being able to develop and maintain something more of a regular and typical day experience. Most conferences begin on a Thursday so that’s usually, for me, also a travel day. After landing in whatever city we’re travelling to, Dave and I typically will head right to a restaurant for what is usually our main meal of the day. From there, we check into our hotel and I

begin preparing for the evening event. That means further study and prayer time. Let’s be clear, I’m 67years-old and I praise God for every one of those years (and, hopefully, more to come!). That also means when travelling, I need to rest both my mind and body, so I’ll get in a brief nap before heading out to the venue for the evening’s teaching. After what, we pray, has been a great time of worship and fellowship, I head back to the hotel, maybe enjoy a light snack and turn in for the evening. The next day (Friday) is pretty much the same routine – an early rise, study and breakfast – before heading to the venue for the morning session. Dave and I will eat our meal between sessions and the evening activity is the same as the night before. Day three (Saturday) is always the last day. Again, nothing exciting or special – breakfast, study, coffee (Starbucks!), teach, coffee (Starbucks!). After the last session ends, it’s back to the airport. Upon landing, we get in an early dinner (which may include a rare dessert treat!) before heading home to turn in. International Conference Routine The “routine” of our international trips are pretty much the same as for domestic with the exception that they are longer by several days. And that’s a good thing for me because those extra days are spent doing on-the-ground outreach and missions work over a three or four day period. A chance to see and interact one-on-one with the people we’ve come to help is priceless, and makes for both a memorable and treasured experience as we spend this time helping with the feeding, medical and assistance programmes that our ministry provides. this is all too often the only assistance many of these people will ever receive. It’s not a cliché and I view it as a privilege to be able to say we impact and change lives. With the last three or four days spent on the conference portion, an international trip is complete after the last session and we begin the long journey back home. As I shared in the beginning, despite my being a creature of habit, I don’t enjoy or benefit from “typical” days. And that’s not a complaint. But what I do enjoy, and count as one of my most prized blessings, is a great relationship and personal walk with God that is “typical” for me. As you reflect and examine your own personal relationship with The Father, my prayer is that you receive your increase in favour and it becomes “typical” for you as well. any Christians believe that they must earn God’s approval by continually being perfect, and often end up experiencing feelings of guilt, shame and condemnation. The Apostle Paul described this as living under the law where a person can feel that they are only accepted by God by keeping all the laws and commandments. However, the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life! The Apostle Paul states in Galatians 3:19-25 that the purpose of the law was to reveal or bring to us the knowledge of sin and to show us our need for a saviour. Although, the law of God was just and holy and good, it had no power in itself to make a person just, holy or good. However, when Jesus came, he came to fulfil the law completely on our behalf by living a sinless righteous life (see Matthew 5:17). Jesus came and was “born under the law, to redeem those under the law” (Galatians 4:4-5). Through his death and resurrection he ensured “that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:4). Through Jesus, God “made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him,” (2 Corinthians 5: v.21). God took all our sin, guilt, shame and condemnation and placed it on Jesus, and in return we received his righteousness. This was a free gift from God which we receive by grace through faith. Many Christians accept that before we were born again, we inherited Adam’s sin nature (and were sinners by nature). That being so, then we must also accept that after we are born again, we inherited Christ’s

righteousness and are now righteous by nature! And with that righteous nature comes the ability to live in total freedom and to rule and reign as kings and priests in life through Jesus! Glory to God! Another wonderful truth that helps us live in our freedom, is knowing that our sins are completely forgiven in Christ. The Bible teaches that the blood of Jesus continually cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7). Knowing that we are completely forgiven destroys the power of sin in our lives and enables us to live victorious lives. The key to this also lies in that fact that “the strength of sin is the law” (1 Corinthians 15:56), and knowing that Christ has completely fulfilled the law and “redeemed us from the curse of the law,” (Galatians 3:13), and because of that sin no longer has dominion over us (Romans 6:14). There is, therefore, now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus and we can live in the freedom and liberty of our salvation. No wonder the Bible calls this “so great a salvation,” (Hebrews 2:3). I pray that this article blesses and encourages you, and that you will truly live in the power of what Christ has accomplished for you, and you discover the freedom that is yours as a child of God. Help West Africa's Starving People Christian Aid has launched an appeal to provide immediate help for millions of hungry people in the Sahel region of west Africa. Villagers have been reduced to eating weeds and drinking dirty water to survive and farmers are too weak to till their fields after two years of drought and crop failure. The Government of Niger has appealed to the international community for help, saying it does not have the funds to feed its own people. Ten million are at risk including 900,000 children. Colonel Abdul Karim Goukoye, a spokesman for the Supreme Council told The Times, urgent relief is needed to plug a shortfall in funding, while hunger and malnutrition have rendered many communities too weak to work. He said: "This is a very serious situation and my message to the international community is to provide us with help and all the assistance it can." Food is available in the markets but soaring prices have put it out of reach of many of the most vulnerable groups. The carcasses of dead cattle can be see strewn on the roads. A spokeswoman for Christian Aid said: "The country is on the brink of the worst food crisis that many Nigeriens have seen in their lifetimes. "Big Society" Approval The "Big Society" is an immense opportunity for Christians to help their communities, the Evangelical Alliance said following the Prime Minister's speech. David Cameron called the plans "the biggest, most dramatic redistribution of power" from the state to individuals, saying they will enable people to feel both free and powerful enough to help themselves and their own communities. He added that funds stuck in dormant bank accounts will be used to enable charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups to take over the running of public services. Steve Clifford, General Director of the Evangelical Alliance, said Christians are already at the heart of serving their communities, and should grasp this opportunity to get further involved. He will be writing to Evangelical Alliance churches in the initial Big Society project areas – Liverpool; Eden Valley, Cumbria; Windsor and Maidenhead and the London borough of Sutton – encouraging them to get involved wherever possible. “We are delighted that the Prime Minister has recognised the incredible work community groups are already doing, and want to enthusiastically encourage churches to accept his invitation to get stuck in,” he said. The Government has set up a “Your Square Mile” website to link people to local community groups and social enterprises. Support For Pakistan Funds are pouring in to help victims of the flooding crisis in Pakistan, but more is needed. British Christians have been asked by Tearfund, World Vision, the British Pakistani Christian Association (BPCA), the Church Mission Society (CMS) and Christian Aid to dig deep into their pockets to help send aid to victims of the flooding crisis in Pakistan. But experts are warning Islamist extremists may use the situation to gain increased support in the area, as happened after the Kashmir earthquake in 2005. Unusually heavy monsoon rains killed 1,500 people and another 20 million people have been affected, according to the UN Children's Fund. Pakistani authorities are struggling to help victims of the flooding, many of whom have lost their homes and livelihood. Bridges, roads and hundreds of houses have been washed away by the raging floodwaters. Exhausted victims criticised the government for doing too little. "We are asking brothers and sisters up and down the country to pray for a speedy restoration of the homes and livelihoods of the affected local people," says Wilson Chowdhry, ViceChairman of BPCA. Break Out With A Break Up One of the most popular questions I get asked today by people from different backgrounds, Christian and non-Christian, is: “How do I get a breakthrough in my Finances?” My answer is resoundingly the same every time: “Breakthrough will only come if you are willing to allow a break up in your thinking.’’ Scripture says as a man “thinks in his heart, so is he,” Proverbs 23:7. Life change comes when we have a mind change and when we are willing to embrace a new way of thinking, freedom can be experienced in so many areas of our lives. Poverty is not a financial condition it’s a mental condition. You are not the product of a broken home, you are not the product of your past, you are not the product of a failed marriage and you are not the product of your postcode- you are the product of your own thinking! If you want something you have never had, you need to do something you have never done. In the current economic situation, I am so saddened to witness Christians believing the media propaganda which is causing many to freeze with fear, believing there is nothing they can do to prosper. The Apostle Paul pleaded with the Romans, not to conform any longer to the patterns of “this world, but be transformed by the renewing” of their minds, Rom 12:2. I don’t believe Paul was limiting his appeal to the morals and sinful practices of the world but to the thinking and contagious fear tactics that spread as a result of oppressive thoughts from the devil and his demons. Scripture also says that “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind,’’ 2 Timothy 1:7. Israel – Past, Present and Forever The Methodist Church has voted to boycott all products from Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territories, and wants to encourage others to do the same. Martin Blackham of “In The Last Days” takes a look at Anti-Semitism.

srael is hardly off our TV screens these days such as the recent dramatic news footage of Israeli commandos abseiling onto the deck of the Mavi Marmara, one of the vessels of the Gaza Flotilla, in a raid to prevent the breach of the naval blockade of the Gaza Strip, and the news about the Methodist Church’s boycott of products from Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories. But what is the truth behind the headlines about the nation of Israel and what is the future for this Middle Eastern democracy surrounded by hostile Arab nations?

First of all the land of Israel is where the Prophets of old lived and walked and talked with God and where the Jewish People experienced miracles from the living God. As Christians of course it is very important to us, as the place where our Saviour Jesus was born, lived, ministered and was cruciﬁed on a cross at Golgotha for our salvation. In today’s world, Israel often ﬁnds itself at the centre of controversy, such as the

reaction to the Gaza Flotilla raid, and, it’s sad to say, a lot of the response is due to Anti-Semitism. What do the locals think? Israeli journalist Sybil Kaplan said: “I believe most Israelis feel the world reacts too quickly against Israel and doesn’t bother to check out the facts”. Israeli Paul Leiba feels that Israelis are “judged by different standards” to other nations. Jerusalem photographer Gemma Blech reckons that most Israelis “see the world as against them at all times” and added “much is about our survival as a Jewish State”. Why is there so much Anti-Semitism? It is simply because of Israel’s crucial role in End Time Prophecy and therefore the spiritual battle over the nation. Many Israelis are nevertheless quite upbeat about their country. Even Israeli President Shimon Peres recently said that Israel is “the least boring place in the world” and they do have a lot to be proud of as it is the home of so many technological advances. It is where the mobile phone and voice mail technology were developed, as were most of the Windows NT and XP operating systems, and the ﬁrst computer antivirus software. The Pentium-4 and Centrino computer processors were designed, developed and produced in this technological centre and on the domestic front, it has the highest number of home computers per person in the world. In Acts 1:11, the Angels say to the disciples, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven”. And where did the disciples just see him ascend from and where is he going to return? To the Mount of Olives, Jerusalem, Israel! May we never forget that Israel is where Jesus is coming back to rule and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Halleluyah! On Something by Jerry Savelle

ave you ever believed for something that took so long to come to pass that you felt like it was just never going to happen? As I have travelled from country to country preaching recently, I have encountered so many people who are standing for a miracle, a healing, or a breakthrough. And then they tell me that it seems as though nothing is working. Maybe you're in that place now. Did you have some dreams and goals to accomplish this year, but now that we are nearly halfway through the year, it looks impossible for it to happen? Are you applying your faith to an area of your life, but not seeing any results? Well, let me encourage you today: God has never let me down and He's not going to let you down either. And the truth is, whether it looks like it or not, God is working on something! Don't Grow Weary One of the biggest reasons Christians don't experience God's victory in their lives is because they give up too soon. Don’t let this happen to you. Don’t miss out on what God has in store for you just because it’s not happening as quickly as you would like. Paul tells us that one of the most important keys to living a victorious Christian life is: “And let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap (see results) if we faint not,” Galatians 6:9 (KJV).

This means you can’t become discouraged and you can’t become distracted. If you want to see God move in your behalf, you’re going to have to stand on the Word and keep believing that God is working behind the scenes. When you start to feel tempted to quit, when you start feeling tired of believing, when the thoughts come that you might as well give up, remember all the times God has come through for you in the past. Meditate on those times. The Psalmist once said it like this: “I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds,” Psalm 77:11-12 (NIV). Anytime Satan tries to discourage me with thoughts of, “Nothing’s working or it’s never going to happen”, I like to remind him of all the times God has come through for me before. I tell him, “If my God has done it before, then He can and He will do it again.” God Is Working On Something Even while you’re going through whatever you’re going through, God is working on something on your behalf whether you can see it or not. “For our light afﬂiction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory”, 2 Corinthians 4:17 (KJV) I like to say it this way: God is working on

something! The Ampliﬁed Bible says, “preparing, producing and achieving for us…” As you and I continue to hold fast to our faith, He is working on something for us. Just because the circumstances don’t seem to be changing, doesn’t mean your answer isn’t getting closer. Every time the devil tries to put the thought in your head that “Nothing’s working”, you say out loud, “You’re wrong devil; God is working on something for me!” If you’ll keep this in front of you and refuse to allow the devil to convince you that “Nothing’s working”, then what you’re believing for will soon become a reality and you’ll see God’s power revealed in your life like never before. One of the best ways to shut the devil up is by sowing a seed. The Apostle James tells us in his writings that this is how our faith reaches its supreme expression. As you give your ministry gift, you are boldly declaring that God is working on something! And know that I join my faith with yours to see you living the victorious life God has designed for you. Victory In Christ Victory Outreach UK provides Christian homes for young offenders and drug addicts. The charity’s new church is growing so fast that it is moving to a converted warehouse. At the Grand Opening of Victory Church in September, people rescued from death’s door will tell their life-changing testimonies. Sally Anderson-Wai reports.

rug addict and thief Richard Cooper was sleeping rough in a graveyard when he realised he had hit rock bottom. He cried out to the Lord for help and his prayer was answered. “I was on a downward spiral of drink and drugs. I took anything that wasn’t bolted down to feed my drug addiction. I got a buzz out of thieving,” said the 21year-old from Stourport-on-Severn. He is just one of the 5,000 young people who have been helped by Victory Outreach UK (V.O.U.K) since it opened in 1984. “I had been living in a tent, but it burnt down. The only shelter I could ﬁnd was in a graveyard, next to my gran’s grave. I felt it was the lowest point of my life. I had been in prison three times, but this felt like a pit I couldn’t get out of. I felt suicidal. I cried out to God, “If you are real, help me.” God sent me two Christians who brought me food. Two days later I was arrested and sent to prison.” On leaving prison, Richard opted to go to V.O.U.K. of Abertillery, Gwent, which owns ﬁve homes in the area to help rehabilitate young offenders and drug addicts from across the south. The charity offers long term provision for vulnerable people that need stability in their lives. House managers who live on-site are always on hand to provide pastoral care, practical assistance

and support. The residents of the single sex homes must attend three bible studies a day and are taught basic life skills. On arriving at Victory Outreach, Richard said: “I wondered where I had come. There were all of these exoffenders with their tattooed arms raised in the air. Eventually, I gave my life to the Lord but did it to ﬁt in with the crowd, and then the Lord took a hold.” After 16 months living in one of the homes, Richard said: “I’ve been set free and sanctiﬁed. It’s amazing. Now I get a buzz from the Holy Spirit. I well up with the presence of God. It’s phenomenal how God is working in my life and shows me the way I can go.” He praised the work of V.O.U.K. He added: “Before coming here I had tried everything to get off the downward spiral I was on, but nothing worked. This has worked. The other things just work on the outside but God deals with the inside and cleanses your heart.” Richard, who started taking drugs when he was 11-years-old, says his life has been transformed and he wants to continue living at Victory Outreach UK until he feels led by the Lord to leave. He and other young people from Victory Outreach recently had a trip to London to meet their patron the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams.

On September 19th, Richard will be one of 16 young people who will be getting baptized at the Grand Opening of the new Victory Church. The former warehouse at Green Forge Way, Cwmbran, has been transformed with an estimated £60,000 worth of voluntary work and donations. Trudy Makepeace, 37, will also be giving her testimony. You are accepted right now in Christ. God does not change you so He can love you. He loves you so He can change you! God loves you as much as He loves Jesus. If you are saved, you are in Christ. And where is He? He is seated in the heavenlies. You are also seated in those heavenly places, even though you still have your address on planet Earth. You are enthroned with Him.

The Wonder Of Worship W

hat’s so wonderful about Worship? Well it is easier to experience than to explain in this issue of TV4Life, but here goes. We are born to worship. Even when you are a non-Christian you can get a wonderful feeling of well being just by singing your heart out for a while. And you take that feeling a step further and a step higher when you are worshipping the Lord God Almighty. I belong to the Worship Team at my local church and there is something bondage breaking about taking part in the services. We usually arrive an hour before the service starts to practice and we sing through all of the songs that are planned for that day. By the time the service begins, you already feel uplifted. It is when you no longer worry about the words or how it sounds that you can actually start to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth, like Jesus said in John 4: 23-24.

“The hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” Sometimes it feels like my heart is going to explode with praises for Him. When the piano and guitars stop playing, I just want to keep on praising Him. It is at such times,

that I feel closer to God and more spiritually clean. I hear His voice more clearly and feel more loved and am more loving towards others. Sometimes the words of the songs seem so intense that tears well in my eyes and I feel Him standing close beside me. And later after the service, I feel as though I have been purged. My spirit is subdued and feels humble. Sometimes after an intense worship session, I wake in the night and can hear my heart singing. It’s just as the Delirious? Song says, “My Soul Sings” and I just have to start praising God all over again. There is something more powerful to praise and worship than singing, it is also a form of spiritual warfare. “The Lord inhabits the praises of His people” and worship does something in the supernatural realm that we can’t see. After all, weren’t the prisoners set free when Paul and Silas started praising God in prison?

Acts 16:25-26. “But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were open and everyone’s chains were loosed.” And there are different levels of praise. Didn’t the walls of Jericho fall after a loud shout of praise? (Joshua 7:20).

David was well aware of the importance of praise, as is evident in the psalms. But one psalm in particular shows the importance of a higher level of praise, through which we can claim a victory. Psalm 149:5-9.

“Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples; And their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute on them the written judgment- This honour have all His saints.” Worship often goes before a victory in the supernatural realm. All the people were praising Jesus the week before He went to the cross and defeated death once and for all. And when He returns there will be a loud shout (1 Thess 4:16). In addition, there is a Biblical promise that God will answer our prayers if we worship Him with our lives.

John 9 verse 31 says: “We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.” So if you want to live a life of victory and be set free, start worshipping in spirit and in truth.

Prophetic

n order for one to understand, the prophetic one has to understand God himself.

The bible says in John 1:1, “In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.”

That is the basic principle of the prophetic. It has to be from God and it has to be in line with the Word. You cannot separate prophecy from God as it is God’s Word and you cannot separate it from scripture, for the scripture (the Word of God) is that which confirms if it is from God. The Word of God has three dimensions the spoken Word, the written Word and the manifest Word. Moreover, the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, thus everything that exists consists of a Word and the Word is spirit and life. The Hebrew word for “prophecy” is “naba”, which means “to flow, boil up or over; bubble or pour forth words, to gush.” When one prophesies, it is the Spirit of God that inspires and it is the Word of God that comes forth. It is impossible to speak the Word of God if His Spirit does not dwell within you. That is why the bible states to “try” the “spirit”; for not all who prophesy, prophesy in the name of Jehovah. This calling manifests and operates in four different realms, which are, prophecy of scripture, spirit of prophecy, gift of prophecy and the office of prophet.

The prophetic is a very important gift to the body of Christ and is to edify the Church. There is a marked difference between the world and the church, in that when they seek psychics, palm readers, astrologist and clairvoyants to understand the supernatural, we as the church must seek a prophet. Although the modern church may at times disregard the prophetic gift, God knows that in these last days that we are living in, we need to hear straight from heaven. If prophecy were not important for the coming times, then we would not be looking forward to the second coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. At Shekinah Shur Prophetic Ministries, we not only believe in prophecy, but we believe that it should be leading our Government, our country and our families by divine prophetic order, which means it has to be demonstrated in the mandate of heaven. The bible says that God does nothing unless He ﬁrst reveals it to His prophets (Amos 3:7) and in this season, we are calling for God to rise up His prophets for such a time as this. How do you know that you are a prophet? When the Word of the Lord is in your mouth “Thus said the Lord” and the Word comes to pass (Ezekiel 3:2) I can clearly recall at the age of 16 when my prophetic calling began to manifest. The spirit of the Lord woke me instructing me to run from the top to the bottom of my street crying out,

“A voice was heard in Ra’mah, lamentation, and bitter weeping Ra’hel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not,” (Jeremiah 31:15). In exactly three days, tragedy struck an Asian family on our street, when their home was burnt down and they lost all their children, and there in the street just as the Lord had instructed was the mother weeping for the children. Are The Ten Commandments Still Relevant? Judaism is founded on them, Christianity holds them close to its heart and Islam rates them highly. But do the Ten Commandments still have any real signiﬁcance for us today? Few British schoolchildren today could quote the Ten Commandments delivered by God to Moses over 3,000 years ago. These important guidelines for Christians have become the focus of controversy across the United States of America. The display of the Ten Commandments in public was first questioned in Stone v. Graham in 1980 when the Supreme Court ruled that students could not be permitted—even voluntarily—to see a display of the Ten Commandments. Since that proverbial "crack in the dike," activist legal groups have successfully challenged

and caused the removal of the Ten Commandments in public locations across the USA. Jesus Christ warned in Matthew 24: 12 that in the Last Days “lawlessness will abound,” and crime ﬁgures in England show an increase in violent attacks. A recent study, by the independent House of Commons Library, shows violence against the person increased from 618,417 in 1998 to 887,942, last year. Dr Jerome Anekwe of El Shaddai Church, London, said: “The Ten Commandments were designed to give us a blueprint for living, however because as human beings we could never keep all of the Commandments all the time, the ultimate purpose of the Ten Commandments was to point us all to the need of a loving and gracious Saviour in Jesus, who perfectly kept all the commands

on our behalf, and who fulﬁlled all the righteous requirements of the law for us.” Author and evangelist, J.John also believes the Ten Commandments are still relevant. In his book “Ten: Laws of Love Set in Stone” J.John explores this subject. This autumn, 400 churches will run J.John’s Just10 course studying the Ten Commandments. “When the Government is asking the public to get involved in building up society in the “Big Society”, maybe its time for the Ten Commandments to be given greater focus by our nation and in our schools,” said Sally Anderson-Wai, Editor of TV4Life.

Listening To Lou Former Phatﬁsh singer, Lou Fellingham recently brought out her third solo album. She took time out for a TV4Life interview.

Can you give us a brief testimony? I became a Christian when I was ﬁveyears-old. My Mam and Dad became Christians when they married and I was brought up in a Christian environment. One day, my Mam was reading parables and I asked questions. She said when you do things like lie that is a sin and Jesus has taken the punishment for it. I understood and that was the starting point. What does the Lord mean to you? Generally He means everything. It’s that sense that with God we can do and be anything. As faith develops you have choices to choose. In the last 18 months my Mam died at the age of 56 and I’ve been dealing with that. It made me question what I really believe. Trusting in God and faith bring you hope, peace and comfort. There is a fundamental hope in God. He’s the foundation in you. Try to walk with God. Watching Mam dying and experiencing how she trusted in God revealed a lot. On my new album one song “To Him Who Is Able” is about feeling that we can bring everything to Him and resting in the fact that He is able to save completely. He is able to save us and rescue us. To Him be the glory. How has He transformed you? It’s an ongoing journey. I don’t always get it right, but I’ve learnt a lot about the grace of God. Our response to Him is that we should do it out of love. I am totally saved because of what He has done. How did you become a musician? I come from a Baptist background and when I was seven-years-old I was singing in church. Every year there was an award ceremony for attendance and you got a Bible for the best attendance. I started singing then and it developed from there. I always knew I wanted to sing and I have always been passionate about Jesus.

What does worship mean to you? It’s a big word. People are trying to use worship to cover our entire lives; jobs, choices and decisions. It is essentially what you are called to do. We are made to be worshippers. What inspires you? Life, the Bible, friends, family, stuff that’s around me, church and the Holy Spirit. What is your aim with your music? I am still like a babe when it comes to songwriting. I try to develop lyrically and melodically. I want the words to be good and strong and I hope people will respond and the song will cause them to worship God. Has your style changed? If so, how? My work has got more singer songwriter. “Step Into The Light” is my third album and I hope each album is fresh and different. Do you have any advice for a new Christian musician? Keep your heart right. Know why you are doing it and make sure your security doesn’t come through what you do. Try to do the best you can musically and remember that there is always someone better than you. Also do stuff locally, but dream big dreams at the same time. What are you working on at the moment? I’ve recently recorded a Songs Of Praise, but it won’t be shown until February next year when it will look funny, because I’m pregnant with my third child and the baby will be a few months old by then. What are the highs & lows of your career? It changes on a daily basis (she said laughing). Doing what I love doing. Being able to sing and worship is a high and being a Mam. Lows are being tired and exhausted and I don’t like leaving my kids. I miss them. You have to get the balance right.

It’s all go for Hillsong Church with the recent release of the film “The I-Heart Revolution: We’re All In This Together” in UK cinemas, “A Beautiful Exchange” CD and the Hillsong Conference Europe 2010 at the O2 arena on October 7th -9th. Chris McClarney The son of a Baptist preacher, Chris McClarney has produced one of the most soulful modern worship collections. "Defender" the title track was inspired by a "he-said-she-said" situation that sent Chris back to the Bible. There he found God is the Israelite's"defender, just as He is ours." Like many songwriters, Chris felt the Lord was calling him to record his songs and asked God to provide the money, if he had heard Him correctly. Within days a guy emailed him saying: "I'm supposed to give you money. What do you need it for?" In the meantime, his song "Your Love Never Fails" wound up on MySpace and his career took off. Live Secure And Complete In Christ!

used to be a very insecure woman who gained worth and value through what I did. And I was in fulltime ministry. I was a pastor on staff of a good church that was thriving, led a weekly meeting of about 400 women, had a parking space with my name on it, and an office with my name on the door. People came to me for help. They needed me – I was important! Then one day, God spoke to my heart and said, “I’m finished with you here.” That was hard to hear. God was finished…but I wasn’t. I knew God had something else for me to do. I have a God-given gift and ability to teach the Bible and believed that perhaps He could use me to reach more of the world than those in the church. I also had a desire to write books. But I felt safe and comfortable in my position. So I stayed another year, and it was a frustrating, difficult year! My insecurity and dependence on the “props” that made me feel important and valuable to people (my title, parking space, name on the door) kept me from being obedient to God when He first told me to leave that job. Through this experience I realized how insecure I was and how much I was striving to please people more than I was living to please God. I wasn’t really complete in Christ.

Getting to Know God – Personally Isaiah 2:22 says, “Cease to trust in [weak, frail, and dying] man, whose breath is in his nostrils [for so short a time]…” (AMP). I needed to learn to trust in God completely and gain my sense of value, worth and confidence in Him. I’ve discovered that being alone with God – and I mean having no one to lean on but Him – is the single best thing that can happen to you. Because when there’s no one else to lean on, you get to know God really well. You can become truly rooted and grounded in the love of Christ, put all of your confidence in God, and know who you are in Christ. You can be secure and free to do what He’s leading you to do, not live to impress or please people. This freedom comes to those who personally know Him. If you want real security and to be complete in God, then you have to form the habit of putting Him first in everything in your life – your conversation, your time, your finances… everything! And the way you put Him first is by spending time with Him. Resisting the Temptation to Ignore God There are many distractions clamouring for our attention. And just as Jesus was tempted by the devil, we

will be tempted to focus on everything other than God. This is one of the devil’s strategies to keep us from knowing God personally and praying. In fact, the devil gets frantic and mean when there’s any indication that we might spend enough time with God to develop an intimate relationship with Him. He fights you to keep you from praying. But we can be as close to God as we want to be. We can be filled with the presence of God and be totally complete. When we’re filled with God, we don’t waste our time trying to fill the emptiness in our soul with food, entertainment, a certain kind of car or house or social status. None of those “props” really satisfy us anyway. I implore you to resist the distractions of the world and put God first in your life. Spend time with Him every day, on a regular basis. Let Him complete you and make you what He created you to be. When you do, your joy will increase, your peace will increase and you will finally be totally secure in Him. Into The Fire This is the testimony of former drug addict Jason Marshall

ason Marshall remembers the euphoric experience of smoking his first Cannabis joint when he was 15, with a bunch of friends from college while doing an apprenticeship at an engineering firm in Bristol. "I totally enjoyed it,” he said. “I laughed for a day solidly. That high was just so attractive. It was an amazingly euphoric feeling and that's what I kept pursuing.” Jason has few happy childhood memories and started exhibiting violent behaviour when he was a teenager. Taking drugs helped him suppress his anger and aggression and they soon became his main focus. He said: "There's plenty of self delusion. I don't think the revelation of addiction kicked in for several years. I had started dabbling. I tried magic mushrooms, those kinds of things, amphetamines, but pot was kind of my daily bread. On top of that, booze as well.” The drugs were masking an inner hunger. After a while he gave up his apprenticeship and his live-in girlfriend eventually left him for someone else. Jason’s violent tendencies led him to punch his love rival. Left alone to his own devises in Bournemouth he continued rapidly on a dark, downward spiral. "I was very angry and frustrated. My entire life was very empty. That was the reality of how desperately empty my life was. That being caught up in the drugs stuff. “I knew that if I had carried on I would have killed myself, either by accident, or

on purpose. Somehow. I knew my life was not in a good place. I knew something had to change. There was just this desperation for a way out.” During one drugs-taking session, he met a Christian called Pete, and the encounter challenged him and changed his life forever. Pete invited Jason to a Carol Service at a Pentecostal Church in Bristol on the Sunday before Christmas, 1994. He agreed to go. "Here I was in clothes that hadn't been washed for ages. My hair was long, matted and horrible.. I was unshaven and unkempt. In all honesty I would have absolutely wreaked of Cannabis smoke and cigarette smoke. “I walked into this building and it just felt warm. There just seemed to be no judgement. These guys were just very friendly. I think that was the thing that caught me off guard the most." Overnight at one of their houses, he dreamt of heaven and miraculously the desire for drugs left him. Jason later agreed to let his new friends pray for him. He said: “From that moment everything started to shift. I felt a tingling sensation in my hands. I was just sitting there and my brain was going into overdrive. "What on earth is happening? Is this some kind of psychic power?” One of the guys just said: "If you want Jesus in your life, just ask Him.” "I got as far as saying "Jesus" and that was it. The Holy Spirit just totally consumed me and that tingling, that fiery sensation that

was in my hands, just shot through my whole body to the point where I couldn't move. It honestly felt like I had put my finger in a socket and then I spent ages on the floor. I just knew I had had this major power encounter. “And that was it. Everything changed. Something fundamental was different.” “The next day I went to my ﬂat. I kicked all the guys out who were in the house. I said, "This is it. I am not doing drugs in my house anymore." I literally went through all of my belongings. I cleared out the house. I took down posters. I cut all of my hair; I took all of my earrings out. But that was just a reﬂection of what was going on inside of me. n March 23, 1968 I had a miraculous encounter with the Lord that changed my life forever. Instantly I received “revelation knowledge” that I’m still trying to understand and communicate today. This knowledge didn’t come through the normal channels of study and education; the Spirit of God supernaturally imparted it to me. It’s the knowledge that God has already done His part. When Jesus cried “It is ﬁnished,” John 19:30, He meant just that. His work on earth was done. The atonement was complete. He provided everything we could ever need. You are probably thinking, “Of course you didn’t doubt once you had it. That would be crazy!” That’s my point. Have you ever prayed that you would be healed and then in your next thought wondered if you would ever really get healed? That’s because you don’t view healing as something that has already been done, but as something that has yet to be accomplished. First Peter 2:24 says, “By whose stripes ye were healed” . It’s already a done deal. It is incorrect to pray for healing. Instead, we should just receive the healing that the Lord has already provided. This truth doesn’t just apply to healing. God, by grace, has already provided everything we will ever need. It takes a revelation from the Holy Spirit to make these truths become alive on the inside of you. Many people just can’t grasp it, because they are trapped in their ﬁve senses. Yet, there are many things that exist that you can’t perceive by your physical senses. There are television signals wherever you are right now. You can’t see or hear them, but they are there. All you have to do is turn on a television set and tune it in to the signal, and then you will see and hear that they do exist. God moves in the spiritual realm, read John 4:24. Whether or not we see what He has done in the spiritual realm manifest in the physical realm is not dependent on Him giving, but rather on us receiving.

One of the variables is the devil’s opposition. However, the devil blows it all the time. Sometimes the physical manifestation of what God has already done comes with little effort. Other times it can be delayed, not because God changes, but the devil just misses it sometimes. Other times, there is a major demonic opposition that hinders the manifestation of what God has commanded. We have to know that God has already done His part and that any delay in our manifestation is not His fault. That will keep us in faith. Remember that faith is our positive response to what God has already done by grace. Satan’s only power is deception. He doesn’t have any physical power or authority, except what we give to him when we yield to his lies. That’s a radical statement that’s completely contrary to popular spiritual warfare teachings. There are many proclaiming that demonic powers are holding people in bondage and that the way to break through is to intercede, bind those powers, and set the people free. That’s not what God’s Word teaches. The Bible says, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). Knowing the truth is what sets people free. ur potential has been put in us by our Manufacturer, our Creator, Almighty God. Whether we use it or not does not diminish it, but it does impact our futures. The events of your past do not reduce your potential. How somebody treated you or what he or she said about you doesn’t change your potential. Maybe you’ve been through some disappointments or have some unfair things happen in your life. None of that affects your potential, which has been put in you permanently by the Creator of the universe. When we believe, we take a step of faith and stretch ourselves; that’s when we start to tap into it. That’s when we’ll rise higher. The capability is in you. The real question is: are you willing to break free from your self-imposed limitations and start stretching to the next level? Too often, we allow experiences from the past to keep us from pressing forward. Perhaps a business partner, a coach, a relative, or a friend said, “Hey, do you really think you can do that? Maybe that opportunity is not right for you. What if you try and fail?”… A young woman named Sherry came to me for advice. She had tolerated an abusive relationship for years in which

she was repeatedly told, “You can’t do anything right. You’re so slow. You’re not attractive.” After hearing that for so long, it had totally beaten her down physically, emotionally, and spiritually. And it doesn’t matter what anyone else has spoken over you. The good news is, God has the ﬁnal authority. He says you have a treasure on the inside. He says you have a gift. He says you are valuable. You’ve got to quit playing that old tune; you need to be dwelling on the thoughts like: “I am creative”. “I am talented”. “I am valuable”. “I have a bright future”. “My best days are still out in front of me”. You have to get your mind going in this new direction, because dwelling on negative thoughts about yourself will keep you from becoming all God has created you to be. Regardless of who has spoken negative words into your life – a parent, a spouse, a coach, a teacher – you, must cast those words down. Words are powerful. They can create barriers in your heart and mind. Too many people don’t have the

conﬁdence and self-esteem they should have because they’re constantly dwelling on negative thoughts about themselves. I don’t say this arrogantly, but in my mind, all day long, I try to remind myself: “I am anointed”. “I am creative”. “I am talented”. “I am successful”. “I have the favour of God”. “People like me”. “I’m a victor and not a victim”. Try it! If you go around thinking those kinds of thoughts, low self-esteem, lack of conﬁdence, or inferiority won’t have a chance with you. Throw your shoulders back, put a smile on your face, and be looking for opportunities to stretch into the next level. Today’s Prayer To Become A Better You Father, I know I have to be careful to whom I am listening. I realize I can even tell myself lies. I want to hear Your words over the barrage of messages that seek to control and bind me. I want to live by Your design.
