Message from Governor Anne Companion: As we get ready to transition to a new Tidewater board, I have been looking back at the past year and I am really pleased with everything that we have done! We have gained a number of new members and had some fantastic speakers and classes throughout the year. Please continue inviting friends to meetings you think they would enjoy and remember, it's very easy for them to join the VPPA through the website now, www.vppa.org. To all our current members, don't forget to take advantage of the early bird discount by October 31st and save on your dues. Anne

DECEMBER 4 MEETING – HOLIDAY SOCIAL Off the Hook Restaurant 500 Battlefield Blvd Chesapeake, VA Start time 5:00PM for social time and placing orders. Open menu; separate checks. Dinner at 6:00 PM. After dinner, our annual Dirty Santa begins. The game is called "dirty" because participants steal gifts from one another trying to end up with the best or, at least, not the worst gift. Dirty Santa gifts are inexpensive gag gifts if you want to participate.
JANUARY 15 MEETING – Glen McClure Glen McClure is known for his disarming images of people. His simple unassuming approach is apparent in the openness of his subjects. Glen's other primary focus is the unpopulated landscape. Norfolk-based photographer Glen McClure spent years visiting shipyards throughout Hampton Roads searching for the faces of the faceless men and women who form the foundation of our coastal economy. His photos were exhibited not only at the Chrysler but also regionally, at the Peninsula Fine Art Center, Portsmouth Art and Cultural Center and Charles H Taylor Art Center.
