Message from Governor Anne Companion Happy New Year; I hope your 2017 is off to a great start! If you didn't make our annual holiday party a few weeks ago you missed a lot of fun! Tracy McGee provided some delicious cranberry cocktails and the meal at Huntington House was outstanding. And of course, our "Dirty Santa" game was, as always, a hit! Wine and other alcohol gifts were particularly hot items this year. Thanks to all who came! I'm looking forward to seeing some of you at Imaging USA in San Antonio this month and many more of you at our January meeting on the 30th!

Changes Coming to IPC 2017! Every year the International Photographic Competition (IPC) sees substantial growth in the number of entries, merited and loan images, and jurors and volunteers. Our goal is to ensure that the competition continues to thrive. With that in mind, we want to share some changes to the competition, beginning with the 2017 District Photographic Competition. These changes refer to judging procedures and entry regulations. For example, entries into the Artist Competition will now be required to have guide images within the entry. Other rules include entrants in the Photographic Open category being required to have made all elements in the entry. Entries involving elements from other artists may be entered into the Artist Competition. The above rules are just a few of the changes made to the competition guidelines. The new changes are critical to your personal achievement in the competition, and the overall success of the event. Please familiarize yourself with the new regulations before you enter the competition, and contact PPA for any needed clarification. We continue to encourage members to take advantage of these incredible educational opportunities. Read a summary of the changes here and look for the 2017 district rules and schedules this fall!
