at Bob Harper’s studio Bob Harper Photography 120 West Queens Way Suite 101 Hampton, VA 23669 Stacie J. Flynn, the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Marketing Color, is our guest speaker. Stacie’s topic is marketing techniques and tips in this new age of marketing using the digital world. Browse her website for an idea of the types of mediums her company recommends and specializes in. Stacie moved from the Adirondacks of New York to Hampton Roads, Virginia, in 2006. She holds degrees in Radio/TV Communications and Public Relations and has been representing businesses as their marketing arm since she began working in the professional world. After multiple years managing marketing departments and programs for several businesses in the Hampton Roads area, she decided to branch out on her own and develop an "Outsourced Marketing Department" for businesses who do not have the need for in-house marketing departments or for those who lack a designated marketing consultant on their team. Most business owners didn't go into business to become marketers. Hand over the marketing reins to Marketing Color and get back to doing what YOU LOVE! Marketing-Color.com

Be sure to read VPPA Salon Chairman Pat Hansen’s 12/14/15 e-mail to VPPA members for Information on 2016 Convention. Here are the highlights of that e-mail. ATTENTION VPPA MEMBERS As you may know, Virginia is hosting the SEPPA judging this year during our convention. This will affect you in several ways: Registration dates are much earlier...no last minute stuff this time. Check the SEPPA website for information. You may only enter four images this time, but in addition to the SEPPA categories on the entrance form, there will be a place for you to select Virginia categories as well. Be sure to do both if you want your images judged for Virginia awards. The fee for entry will be the national fee, not the Virginia fee. If you are entering an actual case, be sure it gets to the designated address on time. I believe that the cases are going to Kaiser’s studio, so you may hand-deliver your case there if you wish; I recommend checking with Jeff first. The judging will be on Friday and Saturday, beginning one day earlier than usual, should you wish to be there. You may enter two cases if you so desire: one in the Open category and one in the Artist category. You may not mix art prints in with your open case, but you can still enter artistic images in Illustrative (for SEPPA) and either Illustrative or Creative for Virginia, but not with work sheets or original images contained on the image board as you would for entry in Artist category. See attachment (to Pat’s original email) to view accepted way to enter artistic images in the Artist category.

I hope this clears up some things for you and that we will see a big turn-out from our membership this year. Since it is a regional judging, there will be entries from other southeastern states and two panels of Affiliated Judges. SEPPA is providing a print committee to handle their judging, but I will still need a few dedicated volunteers to help with Virginia corners and ribbons. Please email me at phskandi@charter.net if you will be willing to help, or if you have questions about the judging. Good luck with your entries. See you in Williamsburg. Pat Hansen, VPPA Salon Chairman
