The cost is $10 for VPPA members (waived if a guest is brought) and $25 for guests. We have a fantastic event coming up this month; Meet us at Fort Monroe from 3-6pm for a shoot out! Northern District member, Barbi Barnum will organize the shoot and be working with models for some creative styling. She’ll be bringing some fun props and accessories to work with so come and try whatever you'd like!

This is a great opportunity to try out new equipment or techniques and play around with freshening up your posing!

Dinner is on your own, then at 7pm we will meet at Anne Companion's studio, 112 Kings Way in Hampton, where Barbi will be teaching about the PRACTICAL ways of dealing with a stylized shoot including how to get and organize models, how to get free or low cost outfits, and how to turn these creative shoots into paying customers. Barbi lead a similar program at an abandoned power plant with the Northern District several months ago; Everyone raved about what a great time it was!! - Here is an image from that program, to give everyone a general idea of what we'll be doing:

Barbi has a BFA in sculpture and art education. When her life shifted she found out that babies and blowtorches just don’t mix well, so she changed her media to photography and never looked back. Barbi has been working with models and creating modeling sessions for over 10 years.

We will meet at the parking lot of the Paradise Ocean Club, 490 Fenwick Rd in Hampton (on Fort Monroe) at 3pm SHARP! Participants should bring their shooting kit and anything new they'd like to try out.
