changing profession of photography.” You won’t want to miss it!
About the Artist Robert Harris is an accomplished portrait artist who has been recognized for his talent and creativity in the discipline of photography. Known for his ability to “paint” light with his camera as well as a paintbrush, Harris blends the realism of photography with the artistic quality of a painting, making his mixed media portraits unique and highly sought after. Receiving a “Master of Photography” from the Professional Photographers of America, Mr. Harris is recognized among the elite photographic artists in North America. His work has been exhibited at Epcot Florida and has received numerous Kodak Gallery and Fuji film Masterpiece Awards. Several of Harris’ photographs reside in the permanent Loan Collection of the Professional Photographers of America. He also recently accepted an invitation from the American Society of Photographers to be included among the nation’s finest. Teaming with his wfe, Wanda, The Harris’ create privately commissioned portraits and photographic art for private homes and commercial use. Many businesses also commission the artist to create portraits for boardrooms and lobby areas.
“We are deeply humbled and grateful for the talent we have been given, and consider it a priviledge to share it with others.” Robert Harris is a South Hill native and maintains a studio in Richmond, Robert Harris Photography, as well as a satellite studio in South Hill with Memory Makers. Wanda and Robert have two daughters, Ashley and Katie, and make their home in Midlothian, Virginia.

Operation Smile This year Bob Harper Photography participated in the PPA Charities and Marathon Press sponsored “Celebration of Smiles” campaign to benefit Operation Smile. Based on our experiences, we will continue to support this annual campaign, not only for the benefits we gain by associating our name with Operation Smile, but more so for the good that this program does for children with cleft lip and other facial deformities. Marathon Press makes the promotion process very easy— the templates are simple to use and may be customized with an individual logo and contact information. The products offered—and there are several—are modestly priced and high quality. If anything, one just needs to determine the type and amount of products needed. I do not think one needs to order everything offered. Items include posters, flyers, Save the Date cards, notecards, etc. The aim of the program is to raise $240, the cost of one operation to repair a cleft lip, by offering mini-sessions at $24 each. What we provide is one 5” x 7” or 8” x 10” (our client’s choice), and our clients may purchase additional items if they want. But we gain much more in good will and name recognition in the community. PPA Charities is a part of who we are as professional photographers, PPA, and VPPA members, and another way to set ourselves apart for other photographers competing with us in our area. I encourage you to consider supporting this program next year and look for opportunities, too, that show what a great bunch of folks we are.
