Strategize Your Support and rive by Caterina Rando Jane Deuber is the CEO of Global Experts Accelerator. She has been in business for 30 years. at makes sense, because she knew at age 13 she wanted to be an entrepreneur. She provides an online platform to design and host your online courses, lead-generating business assessments like the Smart Biz Quiz, and coaching and consulting to leading entrepreneurs. Jane has a plethora of brilliant business advice to share. She says, “Your success in business is 80 percent about managing your “inner game” and 20 percent nailing the ‘tactical game.’ ” She follows four guiding principles that she and her team chose together. Incorporate these to create your exceptional team and organization: Purposeful Profits—Know that your ultimate reason for being in business is to create abundance for yourself, your team, your clients and your partners. You only get there when you align your efforts with an unshakeable desire to serve others in a meaningful and lasting way. Intuitive Innovation—Go inward and access your inner wisdom to discover new solutions for solving the challenges your clients face along the journey of turning their dreams into reality. Conscious Connection—Put human connection before all else. Strive to make all your interactions with others meaningful, upliing and transformative. Collaborative Creation—Recognize that your ultimate success comes only from aligning with like-minded individuals who are out to make a positive contribution. Take Jane’s advice and apply it to your team and organization, and you will find you are enjoying your mission more while enjoying more success. THE NEXT EVOLUTION In Marketing And Sales by Jane Deuber No matter what business you are in, what niche you serve, if you are marketing online or through email, you’re likely experiencing crappy open rates, increased opt-outs and declining conversion. ese are clear signs that your would-be clients are demanding a change in the way you court and close your ideal clients. From Frustration to Innovation For years, guru-centered marketing is what’s worked. A typical call to action invites prospects to click on a link to learn about the expert, how they can help and what makes them so cool. As I watched my prospects become more and more disengaged, I searched for ways to bring more meaning and significance to the sales process. What I discovered was what we now refer to as prospect-centered marketing. It’s a process of using self-assessments to shine the light on the prospect and help them discover exactly what they need. By infusing self-assessments into your marketing and sales process you will: 1. Create meaningful connections with your prospects 2. Help prospects discover where they’re on track and what’s holding them back 3. Articulate how you can help prospects fill in the gaps for greater success 4. Give your precious time only to those who are ready to invest in creating the shis they desire

WHO IS ON YOUR TEAM? by Laurie Zerga Many studies look at reasons businesses fail. Business education teaches the nuts and bolts of accounting, marketing, technology and human resources, along with other topics. I like to look at what makes a business successful. One of the most important factors is your team. Do not forget that people are assets to your organization. It’s critical to have the right people on your team. When I start with new clients, they sometimes tell me they have no team. is means they are a solo-entrepreneur. I respectfully correct them. As business owners, they have bankers, accountants, perhaps someone helping with a website, advertising and so much more. ese professionals are on your team. e other people in your organization are your vendors, partners and affiliates. Learn to leverage them to most effectively support you and your business. Interview non-employees as if you are hiring them, because you are bringing them on to support you. I like to review at least three candidates. As you talk to them, notice these attributes: 1. Are they competent in their expertise? Can they explain in easy terms you understand, or do they intimidate you? 2. Do they seem to care about your business? Do they understand your products and services? 3. Do you connect with them? is is important. My grandfather started a business that my brothers still operate. My brother told me that he was taught to hire the best person qualified technically. He has learned to hire the best person with people skills every time. is does not mean hire

CREATING SUPPORT TO SOAR ISSUE unqualified people. It means be discerning as you hire. Whether it is an employee or a service provider, vendor, or other team member. is will allow you to bring the best support to you and to your clients. Your team is a critical success factor for you company, make it count. Laurie Zerga, founder, Booming Business with Ease, combines her passion for relationships, community and business to support entrepreneurs and CEOs. She helps clients increase their value 10 times with tips that provide the shortest distance to their revenue goals. ese big corporate tips work for small and medium-sized businesses, yet very few use these techniques, which allow them to serve many more people and increase the bottom line. THE PITFALLS OF DOING IT ALL by Barbara McDonald As my dear business coach and client, Caterina Rando, brilliantly said, “You need to do what is the highest use of your time, and let other people handle the rest.” I think of this oen in my own business, and I have seen my best months and best year ever as a result. I hired a bookkeeper who comes in once a week, as well as a part-time assistant who manages the production of signs and banners, in addition to handling simple updates for my clients. is allows me to stay focused on what I do best: design. Most people realize that they could save money by fixing their own car, but prefer to hire a trained mechanic. If you consider what your time is worth, the amount of time you could spend diagnosing the problem, locating the parts and researching how to make the repair, it would be much more expensive than hiring a mechanic. e experience of the mechanic is priceless as well. Sometimes I meet entrepreneurs who are reluctant to pay for professional design services when starting their business, only to hire me for an upgrade aer their marketing efforts produce lackluster results. Since a well-designed logo, combined with an accompanying style guide, is the backbone of your visual marketing efforts, it’s important to get it right before wasting time and money on printing and websites that don’t shine. Hiring a designer as part of your team means you have someone to track the consistency of your visuals, as well as your messaging, ensuring you

CREATING SUPPORT TO SOAR ISSUE make a strong and memorable impression with your potential clients. Randomly chosen clip art and stock photos never accomplish that. If you want your marketing efforts to reflect your own level of professionalism and expertise, consider if it’s time to let a designer support your brand and visual marketing while you do what you do best. Barbara McDonald became an artist at age 5. e local mall held a coloring contest, and when she showed up to claim her giant bunny, the lady at the store said, “Are you SURE you colored this yourself?”A typically shy child, she took a deep breath and replied, “I can do another if you'd like.” Now she helps businesses get noticed, attract their target markets and make what they are worth through design that hits the heart and the target. GROW YOUR TEAM to Create Mega Impact by Andrea Woolf Are you a woman entrepreneur doing it all, or most of it, yourself? If so, there are two predictable outcomes: 1. ere is a limit to how much you can grow. 2. Much of what you are doing is neither your passion nor your strength. Your business is the expression of your vision and genius in the world. You are probably excellent at everything you set your mind to. However, if your heart yearns to make a bigger impact in the world so you can serve many more ideal clients, you are holding yourself back. ink about this: Who does it serve for you to struggle with _________________________ (fill in the blank with whatever you are currently doing that you would rather not be doing)? Yes you guessed it: NO ONE. An example is that you struggle to learn ’ some new technology when you're not technical. If you are anything like me, it will be a slow road to China or, more accurately, you are going nowhere fast in a vortex of overwhelm and paralysis! It’s all about letting go and delegating to your ideal team members, meaning: •eir skills, talents and temperament are perfectly suited for their role. •ey are totally aligned with your brand and your values. •ey are a great fit with your culture. •ey love you and what you're up to in the world. •ey eagerly take on their role and the tasks that you give them.

LEVERAGING SOCIAL MEDIA to Give and Receive Support by Diana Concoff Morgan Have you ever thought about the power of using social media as a tool for support? Here are three ways to use social media to create support in your business: 1. Use Social Media to Create Support for your Clients to Soar. Social media is a powerful tool you can use with your programs to support your clients. Create a private Facebook Group. During the program, participants can connect with you and each other. Post tips and information. Answer questions. Aer the class, stay connected in the group by offering ongoing tips and tools. Participants can stay in touch with their fellow participants as well. 2. Use Social Media to get Support and Feedback. I use social media for support when I’m having a challenge. I post my challenge in my newsfeed or in a group, and I always get lots of suggestions and comments. For example, I have asked for help with wording on workshop flyers, titles of events, program content suggestions and even feedback on my headshots and logo. It’s a great way to engage your followers and do market research. 3. Support People in eir Businesses by Sharing eir Message. It’s powerful to support businesses by sharing their promotions and content. is extends their reach. When you share someone’s content on Facebook, they get a notification, and that link love goes a long way toward good will. ey notice and remember you! You can also use social media to support others by giving testimonials. Post the testimonial on

SOLUTIONS TO CREATE MORE SUPPORT So You Can Soar by Caterina Rando, Publisher TWIB Magazine One night as I was grocery shopping, the store was cold, the line was long and the errand seemed to take forever. When I walked out, I thought, this does not work for me. at is when I started using my new favorite service, www.instacart.com. For $99 a year, they deliver your groceries from a variety of stores for free. You pay a 10 percent surcharge on your order. Do What is the Highest and Best Use of Your Time. ink about how many hours you can save over a month and over a year. I am telling you about this because I want you to only do what is the highest and best use of your time. at is what thriving women in business do. Even though shopping is a personal task, like house cleaning and mowing the lawn, it is not something most people love. is means it drains your energy and eats your time—time you can put to much better use. Stay In Your Lane. In your business, when you spend time with QuickBooks and are not a bookkeeper, or you spend time creating a flier when you are not a graphic designer, three things happen. First, the task is usually not done to a high standard. Second, it oen creates frustration. ird, you lose money because you are not selling or serving your clients. Delegate to others what is not your mastery. Focus on Ways to Automate. Today there seems to be an app for everything. Pay attention to what exists online, or a technology solution that saves time, money or other resources in your business. Give them a try. is will streamline many aspects of your business. Run Your Business for Where You Are Going. Oen times we do not invest in solutions or more support because we are concerned about the investment or the ramp-up time. I want to encourage you to ask yourself if

BUILDING YOUR TEAM by Laura Gisborne You're an entrepreneur because you have a unique ability; something you want to share with the world. In order to serve large numbers of people with your unique talents, you must operate as a business ownernot as a selfemployed person. Working with women business owners, I hear many objections for why they can't hire a teamaffordability, lack of qualified applicants, belief that a new person will never be able to deliver the service like they can. While these feel valid, they are not the true problem with team building. Most small business owners actually are challenged with receiving support and have a lack of experience with team building. e great news is that you can overcome these challenges. Great team players not only pay for themselves, they also help your company generate additional revenues. As a business owner, you must shi from How can I afford to pay this person? to Who can support me so I can shine in my highest role within the company? If your time serving clients generates $150 per hour, and you can bring on a team member to do administrative tasks for $20 per hour, you have the opportunity to generate $130 per hour, while delegating tasks you don't enjoy.

HOW A LITTLE SUPPORT Gives You the Wings to Soar by Doreen Milano My son is learning how to fly jets. He would not be in the position to learn how to soar in a jet without the support of family, instructors, fellow students, sponsors, the bank who loaned the tuition, etc. e list goes on. His process got me wondering how many people I know who have Big Hairy Audacious Goals, but struggle with moving the needle forward. I looked at many of my clients and found that two key pieces keep entrepreneurs from soaring: 1. A support system to free them. 2.e ability to turn time into an asset. It’s All About Support. Business support doesn’t just happen. You must actively choose to create it. is little exercise can help you see the value having an assistant can give you. Figure out the hourly value of your time (annual revenue or income ÷ 2080). en ask yourself if there is value in having someone do the repetitive tasks for you. Aer all, you are most effective in action, whether it’s building relationships, business or client satisfaction. Turn Time into Support. We all get bogged down with to do’s and deadlines. Multitasking becomes your tool of choice and locks you into a self-replicating cycle where nothing gets done effectively or efficiently to your satisfaction. It’s difficult to soar when your spirit and energy get tied up in this cycle. Multitasking is Not Your Friend. Did you know that only 2 percent of the population can actually process multiple thoughts, problems or activities

BUILDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT SYSTEMS by Lu Casillas

As women, it is extremely important to build our personal financial support systems. ere is an emphasis on making or saving money, but it’s important to understand other options that can provide your life with a system of financial support in joy, circumstance or an unexpected event. Let’s look at these as examples: Joy: I call this a “Lifestyle Factor.” You have all of your ducks aligned. Your career is on track, money is in the bank, your retirement is being funded and you have your home, family, friends, activities and hobbies. Circumstance: I call this an “Influencing Factor.” is is a space where anything is possible, good or bad. Are you set up with the correct tools to provide you with what you need in either factor? Unexpected Event: I call this an “Abrupt Factor.” You thought you were prepared for this, or you have put off planning for it. is can also be the loss of a long-time job, family member or illness. How do we leverage what we have to handle our lifestyle in all of its forms? It’s important to take a moment and think about your biggest asset. It is not your property. It is your ability to earn. Did you know it takes a minimum of $30,000 - $50,000 annually to run a household in its entirety? If you needed time away from your business

THE FAB 5—THE FOUNDATION YOU NEED to Take You to New Heights by Audrey Godwin When it comes to business, we tend to go solo. We step out on a wing and a prayer and hope for the best. We may take the time to sketch out a business plan. However, we don’t always have a people strategy. is means more than just the people on the team who sell and deliver your products and services. Consider those with the wisdom you need to avoid the normal potholes of running a business. I call them my Fab 5 Board of Advisors. You can call on them for wise counsel when needed. Your investment in these relationships has a positive impact on your company sustainability. Let me introduce you to them. 1. Intellectual property attorneys can protect the products and programs you create. 2. Banker—Even these days, you can have a relationship with someone at your bank. is becomes important should you need to apply for or increase a business line of credit or get a business credit card. 3. Insurance Agent—Having an insurance agent who has access to different insurance products, like business liability insurance or event coverage, helps protect your company. 4. Accountant—Have someone on your team who can help you interpret your monthly financials to ensure your finances are supporting your life and business. is goes beyond just having your CPA prepare your annual tax return.

CREATE YOUR SPALIFE NETWORK in ree Easy, Breezy Steps by Diane Halfman Once you’ve committed to living the SpaLife—a life with balance in all areas to support your dreams, and has the feeling you get when walking into a spa—you must build a network around you of like-minded people who not only support your journey, but are also part of the journey with you! You already know the importance of removing toxic relationships and always being honest, straightforward and clear with everyone you meet. Creating a SpaLife network goes beyond those steps. In order to create balance and harmony, it’s necessary to enroll the people around you in your vision of living a life of clarity, consciousness and contribution. is includes a social network, both online and offline, as well as a professional network. With these in mind, let’s take three simple steps to create our own SpaLife Support System! 1. Join like-minded groups online. Look at your Facebook news feed. On a scale of one to ten, how SpaLife would you say it is? Why not join some online groups, including mine, that are filled with people who are just as committed as you are? 2. Find an encouragement partner. In your offline life, do you have a SpaLife sidekick? Team up with a friend and encourage each other to live in harmony. What if you made a pact with one of your closest friends that you were both going to visit the spa once per month, no matter what? 3. Talk about your business vision. Do your referral sources understand who your ideal client is? It’s essential that they give you referrals that are

HAPPINESS STARTS INSIDE YOUR MIND by Lee Richter Why is it that when we hear a group of people laughing, we naturally want to know what is making them laugh? We want some of that happy juice, too. If you notice, young kids tend to laugh a lot. So many things make them laugh, and it’s easy for them to be in that joyful energy. at is the key—kids are very present in the moment. Happiness starts with your thoughts and your perspective. Whatever your mind is focused on is what bubbles up into your entire being. Your smile is a key indicator of your physical happiness level. When you want to embrace more happiness in your life, focus on what you are thinking about and how those thoughts make you feel. And then, think about something that makes you really happy like playing with puppies, an adventure with your family or a day at the spa. Visualize it. Notice the feelings you have when you are thinking about the great things in your life. When you are immersed in happy thoughts, it shows on the outside. You resonate at a different frequency and other people are drawn to you. Yes, they want the happy juice too. And when you are angry, sad or frustrated, guess which people are drawn to you. Yes, angry, sad and frustrated people who are operating on that frequency. When you want more happiness, set your intention to focus on the things that bring joy into your life. Feel that happy feeling on the inside and it will show on the outside. en you can have a very happy day—every day!

MARKETING SUPPORT: Vital to Business by Linda Basso Should you do your own marketing or not? It depends. Let's take a look: Start-up: In the beginning, it's up to you to find the right clients, sell to them, use their feedback to refine what you do and then repeat. Let's be clear: most of this is on you. Who can help? Even though your sales may not exist yet, starting a business takes money, and will overwhelm you if you do it all. My rule: take on tasks that give you energy. Spend money on those that don't. Consider a marketing coach for strategy, your initial website and your messaging. You will need to be highly involved, but each of these is an expert in her area so you don't have to be. Stage two: You're up and running with money coming in, but you'd like to make more. Definitely seek marketing support. is is a common mistake—entrepreneurs who continue trying to learn marketing skills so they can implement versus learning the overall strategies and hiring people to execute. Be clear: you will spend money. at's so you can sell, deliver and earn more. Yes, the proportion of spend to earn goes up. So does your revenue! Stage three: You earn in the higher levels of your industry. Now your marketing should have a life of its own. No more single vendors with you managing each. It's time for an internal marketing manager or to outsource to a firm to manage multiple marketing efforts. A common mistake is thinking you know it all. Remember that marketing is not your core business and is constantly changing. Focus on strategy, keep your business current and take risks if you want to continue growing.
