The Ubud Food Festival is the region’s leading culinary festival, celebrating the diversity and taste of Indonesia’s culinary world, tempting thousands of food lovers from all over the world. The Festival, featuring over three days, includes special events, cooking demos, food tours, talks, workshops, arts performances, films, and more. In 2024, the Festival set a new attendance record, drawing approximately 15,000 attendees and around 150 industry leaders from across Indonesia and the region for an actionpacked program, making it the strongest festival yet. This was further enhanced by a free open-air market, featuring over 70 food artisans offering thousands of mouth-watering Indonesian street food options.
The 2025 Ubud Food Festival, celebrates the rich culinary heritage that reflects the spice-laden stories and values of our diverse communities. Food is not just sustenance; it embodies the flavors of our ancestors’ wisdom and the rituals that bind us. By honoring traditional recipes and ingredients, we connect with our origins while fostering innovation in our kitchens. The Ubud Food Festival invites chefs, farmers, and food lovers to explore the significance of heritage in shaping our culinary landscape. Together, we will savor the past, celebrate the present, and inspire future generations to honor and preserve the vibrant legacy of our diverse food cultures.

This year’s festival marked a new record in attendance, with approximately 15,000 attendees. The demographic breakdown reveals a significant majority of female participants at 71.1%, while males accounted for 27.3%, with 1% choosing not to disclose their gender.
Age-wise, the largest groups were between 26-35 years (40.4%) and 36-45 years (26.3%). Regarding occupation, half of the attendees were working fulltime (50.5%), followed by self-employed individuals at 22.2%. More than half of the attendees had attended previous events (62.6%), highlighting a strong retention rate among attendees.

The average spending at the Festival Food Stall is IDR 458,000 per visitor. The total estimated transactions during the festival at Taman Kuliner amounted to IDR 1,5 billion, with 33% of these transactions completed using cards or e-money.

At the Festival venue, the food area will give attendees the chance to sample some of Bali’s tastiest new street food concepts, as well as old, tasty, classy dishes. Alongside dozens of food vendor options, attendees can join flamefueled theatrics at the Teater Kuliner stages.
Bali’s coolest culinary collaborations with local chefs, food producers, and restaurateurs will take place, ranging from special lunch explorations to afternoon food parties with emerging chef talents, and epic feasting and night celebrations, offering attendees unforgettable foodie experiences.
Festival attendees will also be able to get one-on-one tips at intimate cooking classes. Hosted by a range of emerging and famous chefs, this is the attendees’ chance to taste delicious food with all the senses, leaving the sessions bursting with the skills to cook new dishes whenever they fancy it.
Insightful panel discussions will put the richness of Indonesian culinary diversity on the menu and offer some food for the brain. The program will also cover the latest trends in the hospitality and food industry, as well as environmental issues.
Food-themed documentaries and fiction films will raise awareness of environmental and social issues related to food, with postscreening discussions where filmmakers will be ready to answer questions from the knowledge-hungry audience.
A total of 70 vendors participated in the Festival, offering a diverse range of products. Of these:

Notably, 58% of the vendors were participating in the Festival for the first time, while the remaining 42% had participated two to three times previously.

Yayasan Mudra Swari Saraswati is an independent, not-for-profit foundation committed to enriching the lives and livelihoods of Indonesians through a range of community-building arts, cultural, and culinary programs. It was founded in 2004 by Janet DeNeefe and Ketut Suardana as a healing project in response to the first Bali bombing. The goal of the Foundation is to help fulfill the creative needs of Indonesia, its individuals, and its communities while showcasing its cultural diversity – both traditional and contemporary – to the world.
