News from the Secretariat UCLG ASPAC has consistently engaged young talents to enhance their skills and to contribute to the development works of Asia-Pacific. Entering mid-2019, UCLG ASPAC Secretariat Team is strengthened with one additional finance personnel and two talented interns. See what each personnel brings and how they strengthen the Secretariat Team.
Giovanni Liebe Andrew Latuheru, who prefers to be called Gio, has joined the Finance and Accounting Team since 2 May 2019. He got his bachelor degree in Economics and Business from University of Mulawarman (Samarinda, East Borneo, Indonesia). His knowledge has been further strengthened through his professional experience in Reality Check Approach (RCA+) Project (Palladium International Indonesia), The Health Technical Assistant (BANTU) USAID, and private sector PT Empatika Consultindo Mandiri. When joining UCLG ASPAC, he would like to increase his knowledge and improve his skills in finance area in this organisation, as well as to have great experience with the team. Asmita Puspasari, is our intern with architecture background. She received her bachelor degree from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). Her contribution has focused on the Public Space programme. Her responsibilities have included arrangement and assessment of the whole timeline of Public Space projects; coordination with various stakeholders of the project; conducting survey and analysis of site contexts; and planning of participatory events to activate public spaces. With these responsibilities, Asmita mentioned that she has learned the real values of public spaces and has gradually understood how to communicate those values to the society. She strongly believes her new knowledge and perspectives will be valuable for her next contribution to the society as an urban designer. Yohana Sihol Marito Manurung is our other intern. In her senior year of studying International Relations, concentrating in Defense and Security Studies at President University, Yohana has interned in UCLG ASPAC under Communications and Member Services Division. Her expectation is to understand working-environment with a diverse set of work where she can improve her soft skills through various assignments. With the
positive welcome that she received from her very first day, Yohana also felt grateful for the opportunity to intern in UCLG ASPAC.
